The Very Best Tacos Around Miami | Eater Miami

"This much-buzzed-about taco pop-up (check its Instagram and website for its schedule) brings a little slice of Mexico City to the 305. Its tacos al pastor with spit-fired roasted pork and large slices of pineapple are some of the best in the city, but everything from the rib eye to the longaniza is worth an order. Top with one of the homemade salsas to complete the experience." - Olee Fowler

The 11 Best Tacos In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"The Wolf of Tacos is not a taco hedge fund, but rather an al pastor pop-up making some of Miami’s finest tacos at various locations around town. The Wolf's al pastor comes freshly carved from a vertical spit, just how the taco gods intended. Being a pop-up, they bounce around a lot, so give their Instagram page a follow to stay informed about where you can find them next. The menu usually includes options like pork, chicken, and steak, all dressed simply with cilantro, diced white onions, and salsa." - virginia otazo, ryan pfeffer

The 14 Best Pop-Ups In Miami - Miami - The Infatuation

"Where To Find Them: Tuesdays at J Wakefield and also lots of other places. In the world of Miami pop-ups, The Wolf of Tacos is approaching classic status. The al pastor pop-up still holds it down at J Wakefield every Tuesday, but is also seemingly present at every event where there’s room for a portable canopy and a trompo. This is because the Wolf's al pastor is one of the best versions in town and comes freshly carved from a vertical spit, just how the taco gods intended. The housemade salsas are lovely and we still get excited any time we encounter this place randomly in the wild." - ryan pfeffer, mariana trabanino

I visited Wolf of Tacos with great excitement, especially after hearing Eduardo Lara speak at the Estrella Damm Gastronomy Congress, where I had already sampled a small tasting of his tacos. I was truly impressed then, so I decided to bring my wife for the full experience. Unfortunately, the visit turned out to be deeply disappointing. The tacos are undeniably well crafted, with thoughtful flavor combinations and clear technical skill, but the value for money is simply indefensible. We paid $50.65 for six tacos and one Mexican Coca-Cola — a price point that might be acceptable for a celebratory dinner, but not for portions that are, quite frankly, miniature. We tried the Al Pastor, Suadero, Al Vaquero, Aquiles, and Pollo Asado tacos. The flavors were good across the board, but the portion size was so small that it left no room for satisfaction. What should have been a memorable taco experience quickly became a conversation about pricing rather than pleasure.

The tacos are definitely not from Taco Bell... the Aquiles are soooo good. We've been to lots of street taco places but never had wagyu beef tendons with chicharron... to die for! This place slice the lengua after it's been braised for 24 hours. They do special combination on Tuesdays. The food was top rate. The atmosphere is a train station food court so don't expect fancy seating but it's clean & service is very friendly and clean.

We tried the Wolf of Tacos at the Brightline food court. The service was amazing and the food was excellent. If you are used to west coast tacos on any level you will not be disappointed. Corn, not flour mini tortillas with homemade salsas. While one taco is $7+ dollars it is actually 2 tacos big. The staff was very friendly. A nice touch for the train station.

I really hope that the cooks can understand. I ordered steak, suadero, and pastor, and my partner ordered another three to dine in, so we got our order in to-go containers. I really wanted to eat my tacos from a plate with the paper at the bottom. Then we had some trouble trying to find out who ordered what; both orders were mixed. Green sauce, made with raw green tomatillos, was so flat and plain. The red sauce was even worse, with a lot of heat and no flavor, just árbol chile, garlic, and vinegar. Those cheap, rushed sauces just killed my tacos. Then I realized that I ignored a big red flag for a taqueria: Valentina sauce, not just yellow label, but black label too! After eating, I realized why they have supermarket sauce...

Bro is the CEO of tacos, no cap. We took the Brightlight down to Miami and were roaming around the food hall for a bite. We stumbled upon The Wolf of Tacos and decided to give ti a go. I could NOT believe the flavors and authenticity of this. If you've ever been to Mexico and had real tacos, you'll know these tacos are the real deal. They have 10 different type of tacos, and several sauces...all freshly made. And the prices are totally reasonable, making it great value. I ordered the POLLO ASADO, which had BELL & EVANS JOSPER-GRILLED CHICKEN THIGHS, for only $5.50. I should have ordered two. Wow wow wow. Please check this place out and support them. I believe they used to be a food truck, so it's awesome to see them growing in this new food hall space at the Brightline station.

Finally, we got to try the Wolf of Tacos! Been following the IG and his food truck but haven't gotten the chance until today. He opened the first brick and mortar here...so we came to try. We ordered three of each: pollo asada, Al pastor and suadero. Good portions and good flavors. I appreciate the salaa bar where you can get your sauces and pickled veggies.. yum! My favorite taco was the Suadero, which features confit that was both tender, fatty, and crunchy. The only feedback I have is to add double tortillas as some of the tacosfell apart. Aside from that, great customer friendly service. We will be back.

So apparently this place is called The Wolf of Tacos… but after eating here, I think they meant The Wolf of Meat-in-a-Tortilla. I kept seeing them all over Instagram, so I figured I’d give it a shot during lunch. Big mistake. These were hands down some of the worst tacos I’ve had — zero flavor, no effort, just meat tossed into a tortilla like they were in a rush to clock out. Thanks to the salsa bar they have save the day but just to give a little of flavor so If you’re drunk at 3 a.m. and desperate, maybe these tacos could pass as food. But in the cold light of day? Nope. All hype, no bite.

I’m from Guanajuato, Mexico. I moved to Miami a year ago and have been trying to find other Mexicans and good tacos. Being from Mexico, my expectations are very high when it comes to Mexican food and this place did not disappoint! The costilla tacos are SOO fire! Mexican approved!!!
