The food here is absolutely amazing—everything on the menu is a win! The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful, and the vibe is just right. Loved the art on the walls too. Can’t wait to come back!

Food: 1 star. Drinks: 3 stars I’m still amazed by this $17 slider sized burger (and it comes without any side). Popcorn chicken is dry and barely warm when served. Brussel sprouts were better. Ordered a negroni and it was served with regular ice cubes. Oh well 🙂

Our bartender, Shannon was REALLY nice and she’s great at what she does. We personally watched her see to it that a young woman got safely into her uber home and I appreciate any bartender who looks out for their customers and their safety like that. We will definitely make a trip back in to see Shannon again.

So this came up as a place that we would enjoy. Good atmosphere, cozy, music, lively but not wild. We go in, we are seated. We got water. Almost 20 mins passes and no one has greeted us or serviced us. But 5 of the other tables were. Finally a girl, long red hair, tall, with a hat decides she would see how we are doing. Well not good since we are served yet and I expressed that we have been waiting quite some time. She responds with an attitude immediately. She said "sorry to hear that". Apparently when and said that we were only waiting 12 mins. I explained that we have already been sitting here while everyone else was served. She immediately gave an attitude, rolled her eyes, stomped away. Someone like that does not deserve to be in the service industry. Just apologize and make it right. I was being a pain, but when you see others around you being served and you're ignored, it's a problem. It was the most disgusting reaction I have ever gotten from someone at a restaurant/bar. I dont recommend at all unless you want to be treated like crappie and dismissed by the waitress. Wren- do better. Its things like this that cause closures.

Great cocktails, amazing vibe and excellent service. Opens at 4pm, we came in early and had to wait from a nearby place. It was worth the wait. Clean bathroom, spacious and great vibe with real flowers. I had the old fashioned and it was strong. My friend had the spa water and absolutely loved it. We had come for the cocktails!!

This place has a lovely vibe and feels cozy, especially with all the candles. It's a great spot for drinks and food. I gave it 4 stars because the menu doesn't offer many options for vegetarians or people with gluten sensitivities.

Shannon was AMAZING! We had the best time. She was so welcoming, helpful, hospitable, and friendly. We love the Wren and their seasonal and regular drink selection. We had the best time. Come to the Wren!

What happened to The Wren? Used to love going for the hearty brunch. The lonely $17 burger is slider sized and comes on an empty plate. The $16 sausage sandwich on an English muffin at least has a layer of crispy hash browns for a bit of bulk. Thankfully the friendly service is still intact.

Our organization had an after-party/cocktail hour downstairs. Despite the massive turnout, the night didn't feel all that cramped in the beginning. The lines at the bar ran quick, and they were gracious enough to consistently refill and offer apps, even for the later comers and passerbys. The aesthetic was chill, mildly dark, but still open and friendly. Ideal for any small company looking to host a holiday or networking party.

Went in just as the kitchen closed but Addy the waitress was so accommodating, we were able to get a few things in. Food was great and she made sure to check on us. Great host and was funny to boot. Would definitely come back.

This place is a great spot for brunch! Two of my best friends and I went during the weekend and had the whole place to ourselves. I think we must've gotten there before the rush, but that's fine with us. We had gotten an avocado bowl, waffles, and this delicious goat cheese and artichoke dip. All items were beyond amazing. The service and ambiance were also fantastic. I definitely think this is a great spot that we happened to stumble upon. If I'm in the area again, I would definitely stop by. I wholly recommend!

Really enjoyed my visit to The Wren while visiting NY. I was looking for a restaurant that was open late and luckily their kitchen was open past 11:30pm. It was mid week so it was pretty calm. Such a lovely little place. You walk in and you have a few tables around, the bar area and more tables. We sat in the back area and it was really enjoyable. Real candlelit dinner. Our server was really friendly. We started with a sour beer and a Tom collins. The sour beer was really tasty, as was the Tom collins. Then ordered the white bean hummus which was recommended by the server. It was so delicious and crunchy. We also ordered the veggie burger, it was so fresh and flavorful. Great portion and taste. Also ordered a side of fries which was a big portion and really fresh fries. The ambiance was great. The food was yummy. Truly a little gem in the area. I did try coming back over the weekend and the security was really rude and said the kitchen was closed at 11pm but not letting that encounter ruin my first experience! But definitely keep in mind the kitchen closing time may vary as can some of the staff. Overall, still worth the experience on a week night.

I don't know what it was about this place, but left feeling very uninspired. Came here for drinks, and when we got there the host was going back and forth on whether we would be able to sit outside or not: Snip, snap! Snip, snap! We did end up getting a seat outside, and the ambiance was nice but the traffic going up and down bowery had me unable to hear my own thoughts at points. After a subpar espresso martini, I pivoted to a Watermelon High that also ended up being subpar. Just a bit too sugary for my liking. Wish I could give 3.5 stars, as this was the poster child experience for 3.5 stars.

Stopped here around 3PM on a rainy Sunday. There were enough people in that didn't make it empty which was nice. The cocktails were interesting but none of them really stood out to me so I just ordered a gin and tonic and the others in my group ordered the midnight espresso (7/10 the chocolate bitters was too much and the drink looked very light and o espresso beans were added on the top) the rhinestone eyes which looked more like a champagne cocktail but my friend didn't even finish it, and the chai it out which was apparently decent but I didn't try. We also ordered the fries (8.5/10) which were solid and the Brussel sprouts side (5/10) not crispy enough for me. Cute contemporary barnyard feel inside but I don't need to go back anytime soon.

Wonderful staff, food, service and drinks. I came here for a company holiday party and the staff were amazing. From the initial planning to the execution of the event I was very impressed. Elizabeth, who I worked with to plan the event was so accommodating, and Rachel the bartender was amazing. I'm not a big alcohol drinker but she made the perfect drink to suit my taste buds. It's a nice bar/restaurant, a bit on the dimmer side, but it's very nice. It can get a bit loud, but that's because of the way the room is. There's not too much variety for food, so it's more of a bar type of eatery, so if you want a full meal, this might not be the place for you,but they have fantastic drinks and is perfect for a get-together with friends or colleagues. I heard a rumor this place served late night food. It lived up to it's promise. This sandwich was absolutely delicious. Quality food and service ! Highly recommend.

Great bar! Food is way above average. The drinks are great and the staff is amazing! Rachel, the bartender, is a standout among many. A true professional behind the bar. Her kindness, attention to detail, and skills as a bartender will leave you coming back for more.

Ambiance is lowkey kinda dark and mysterious but the HH crowd makes it a bit lively. The music was low enough that you could have had a nice conversation but with everyone chatting you'd end up talking a bit louder to be heard. The staff is nice and friendly. Especially the person working as the host in the front. Wait staff was also attentive. Only downside is they have those card reader things so you pay at the table and they can see what you're tipping. I find it funny but also a bit intimidating but anyway remember to always tip your server !!! I was able to catch the tail end of their HH (ends at 7pm) and got the Negroni. I don't know who made it but they have a heavy pour which is much appreciated most days. Grilled cheese sandwich was simple and well done. I had several cheese pull moments while eating it. Bread was nicely toasted and buttery(?). The grilled cheese typically comes with a tomato soup but I don't like soup so I asked for fries and they allowed the substitute (!) The fries were fresh, hot, crispy, and had just a tad bit too much salt. Nice portions all around. Would definitely return for either food or drinks

Came by for snacks and drinks on a Monday night. It was so yummy I came back for brunch on Saturday. They have really good outside seating for people who are COVID conscious, partially open and there's working heaters at some of the tables. Nomz: The shishito peppers were very good, super well seasoned and flavorful, huge portion. Popcorn chicken was nicely cooked, it had like a cajun-y seasoning that was really good. The chicken sandwich was really tasty and good size, wish it came with fries! Drinks: I had the Singapore sling and it was yummy, not too sweet. Service: Very good, bartenders were really nice and the waitress outside was super accommodating to us! Ambiance: Classic cool inside, cute vibes. Nope or Dope: Dope, I personally preferred the vibe at night and the snacks and drinks were very yummy!

I honestly just expected typical bar food but I was very impressed by everything we got. Definitely recommend stopping by if you are in the area. Good service as well! Love the ambiance here

I'm usually wary to order a breakfast sandwich at a sit down restaurant but this one is soo good. Obsessed with the hash brown that comes on it and the chipotle maple sauce to dip in is delicious and makes it less dry. Also ask for their malt vinegar mayo, it went really well with the sandwich!!

The Wren is a good spot for Happy Hour or a late night spot to end the night. I like the ambiance and it is good for those types of groups where you have some that a bit more casual but others who are a bit dressier.

We went to the Wren last night to celebrate my sister's birthday. The service was excellent, and the staff was helpful, cordial, and knowledgeable. I'm so happy to announce that this location is worthwhile of a visit. They went above and above to make us feel at ease. This location stands out among all the Manhattan bars and eateries.

A nice spot to go with friends and share drinks. Ended up here with a group and sat in the back. You seat and serve yourself on Saturday nights. Bar staff friendly enough. Can't speak for cocktails, but beer selection ok. It was quite busy and remained busy into the evening.

Great food and cocktails!! We sat outside, and people watched. Loved the hummus and shishito peppers! Bar was a little slow - we got our food first.

One of my go to places while visiting New York. Amazing vibe and killer drinks! We always have an amazing time when we get a chance to come out!

** takes reservation ** We came with a reservation at around 6:45pm and was seating in their outdoor seating area. The waitstaff was attentive at first but as more diners arrived I could tell she was swamped. As for what we ordered, we had 2 cocktails (Kew Gardens and Espresso Martinis), and ordered the Wren Burger, Kale & Artichoke Dip, Steak Frites. Between the 2 of us, this was the perfect amount of food where we left satiated but not overly full.

Really love this environment, super cute aesthetic of a restaurant with a large venue. Great spot for dinner, happy hour, or more. Have gotten both food and drinks here but really love the drinks. Really enjoy there espresso martinis and cucumber drinks. Overall I definitely recommend!! Great service and great vibes.

Came here for casual drinks on a Sat around 6pm. We didn't make a reservation but they were able to seat us in a table by the window. There is seating outside and inside. Charming place with great cocktails, loved the copper mule! We got popcorn chicken, fries, and artichoke dip (LOVED THIS!) to share with the table. I have also been here for dinner and enjoyed the burger. Drinks are about around 15 for cocktails which is pretty standard for NYC. Apps were also about 10-15 and the entrees were 15-20. Service and ambiance were great!

If I could give zero stars I would . Absolutely appalling how belligerent the cocktail waitress behaved toward me. She emasculated my work colleague by insisting that I pay the tab for the drinks when he wanted to pay and pulled out his Amex Platinum. She wouldn't let it go and heckled both of us as we left .,shouting at us that I should pay instead of him . We had to go to the Lower East Side to eat because of the taunting .

We hosted welcome drinks at The Wren before a family wedding. Elizabeth walked us through every detail ahead of time so that by the night of the event, we were nothing but excited. We live out of town and hadn't seen the space in person and were so pleased. Very attractive with seating for guests, a convenient food station, and dedicated restrooms. Our bartender, Troy, was terrific and managed the lights and music when it was time for toasts. I can't say enough good things about The Wren and its staff--book your event there; you won't regret it!

Cute bar on the Bowery for brunch, drinks or dinner...came here for afternoon drinks. Staff is friendly, service is good and food and drinks are good. Social distancing is enforced...they also have one member scan in for contact tracing. Scan QR code to get to the menu...make sure to get there before 4pm on the weekends for bunch specials. Met a friend for drinks and catching up...good recommendation from friend. Staff checked in frequently if we needed anything. Bar gave us fries on the house too...really nice of them given we were there quite awhile talking and drinking. Good location and will be back again.

The Wren is my go-to whenever I'm in NYC. Perfect location and beautiful new makeover inside. All the staff are friendly and professional, and oh those bartenders!! They are so fun and make the best cocktails! The food is delish, especially the octopus! I'm hoping to bring my colleagues in the spring for a private event downstairs. Love their events manager!

I have been to The Wren three times now and am impressed by every visit. The drinks can be hit or miss, but you cannot go wrong as far as food goes. The lighting is dim except for tables toward the front of the restaurant, and the service is somewhat casual--you won't be smothered, but the staff are accommodating and willing to provide recommendations. Quality-wise, The Wren is far superior to many of the well-known spots in the area. I (and everybody I know who has been) would highly recommend!

This is definitely a new favorite spot for my friends and I. The drinks are always good and I love the classic, intimate, sexy but casual vibe here. If you're looking for a place to grab a drink and have a few bites and good conversation with a friend or two, this is definitely where you should go! They do have a few tables in the front and back as well as some outdoor street seating options, but the best seats in the house here are at the bar, for sure. The bartender Katie has gone out of her way to make sure my friends and I are always helped. Since I've been frequenting this bar more I've been able to chat with her multiple times and she's a lovely human! Ok Sarah, let's get to the good good. Here's what I recommend: Drinks: - Midnight Espresso(Espresso martini): Duh. It's delicious here. - WREN-QUILA: fun, flirty and a little spicy - COPPER MULE: Standard mule, still good though Food: - Sausage Sandwich - Fried pickled cauliflower (unexpectedly delicious, loved this) - Popcorn chicken: a good bar snack! - Kale and Artichoke dip - Fries are also good to munch on! (I really want to come back and try the Irish Breakfast and Corned Beef Sandwich.) Overall, a great bar in this area. My friends and I love this spot and will continue to come back! 4.8/5

We stopped by here on a cold Saturday night to get a drink and some appetizers. Each table thankfully had its own heater. For covid precautions- staff were wearing masks, tables were spread apart, and hand sanitizer was inside. Since I could barely feel my fingers, I wanted a warm drink so I got the Crowe's nest. This was the first time I've had a warm mezcal drink, and I wasn't upset with this idea...I loved it! It was just right on the sweetness and it paired well with the apple cider (also surprised with the idea of mixing mezcal with apple cider!!!). We had dinner plans at our friend's place so we stuck with appetizers here. We ordered fries, fried cauliflower and chips and salsa. Lol yes, it was all fried, we hadn't eaten all day. My favorite was actually the chips and salsa, the salsa tasted like it was made with fire roasted tomatoes. I wish the size of the salsa was bigger. The cauliflower was good too, there was a hint of lemon which enhanced the flavor. And the fries...can never go wrong with fries! The ambience was great and service was on point. Can't wait to go back to try some of the entrees.

Wow-- the shishito peppers were amazing!!! Sprinkled with charred lemon and tajin the peppers had such great flavor. The burger was god as well. Seemed like a smash burger to me. I love the vibe at the Wren.

Portion sizes are fine but I think they should be served with a small salad or fries. A la carte cocktail Drinks served on thin tall glass are on small size for that price. In general all good but average.

Came here for brunch with a group of 7 for brunch. Luckily they were able to seat us. The rest of experience was just alright. Frozen Irish coffee drinks were pretty good but didn't seem that strong. For the table we split fries and fried cauliflower (confusing ordering experience, as the online menu is not the full menu that the staff knows/is able to serve) and for my main I got the for forbidden rice bowl. It was pretty good, but then you realize it's just some cooked forbidden rice, salsa, cheese avocado, and egg. To be fair, that's what the menu says and it is a lighter option, but was pretty underwhelmed. Pretty good to try but I don't think I'll be itching to go back soon.

Popped by The Wren for a few drinks and a snack during brunch hours. The Spiked spa water cocktail was delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day... tasted like a twist on an aperol spritz. We wanted a small dish on the side to accompany the cocktails, however the brunch menu was a bit limited.. offers more entree-sized egg and breakfast sandwich options. We settled on the fried pickled cauliflower which was surprisingly excellent.. very lightly fried and the jalapeño mayo was just right for dipping! Overall, pleased with the cocktails and food. Service was warm & friendly! Outdoor vibe was perfect for summer, but our table was less than ideal... situated on a slope that required significant balance on our end. Would recommend The Wren for a nice rustic vibe and great cocktails!

Adorable little place we found downtown for brunch. Even though the seating is out on the street it feels really classy and cut off from the traffic. The food was good and the whole place had a great vibe. Could come back here for either a low key brunch or a boozy lets get lit brunch.

Looking for a relaxed place to spend with friends. Then this is the place. A no fussy restaurant with a small but varied menu. The staff were very accommodating with regards to the menu. Our waitress provided recommendations for our varied tastes. (I am cvery fussy about my eggs). The only negative for us was the selection of black tea. If you don't like earl grey, your out of luck. I especially loved the cup and saucer. Just something a little different. The ambience: think of going to a friends place for breakfast.

Came here after craving an drink on a hot day. Service is very slow, small menu that didn't look great. I noticed a lot of people were waiting for food orders.

Great service and food! Between the seven of us, we tried all the brunch options - there aren't many to choose from but there's something for everyone. I would highly recommend their sausage sandwich and their cauliflower bites. My friend got their churro waffles and finished every bite. We didn't try any of their drinks but they sounded great. Great job for a casual brunch!

Pretty small brunch menu but we had the power rice bowl and it was pretty good. Not very filling by any means but it tasted good

Went here for a late night drink and it did not disappoint! Got an espresso martini and it was so goooood!!! Super cheap too. It was packed but still room to drink and socialize!

We were looking for a brunch place in the area that was relatively quiet for good conversation. The Wren fit the bill and on top of that they served great food. We had the breakfast BLT and the sausage sandwich along with some drinks. The sausage, egg and cheese at a food cart near my office was flawless, but this sausage sandwich is perfection. The fried egg was fluffy - how did they do that!!? The bun - I believe a brioche - upgraded the standard NYC bread roll. The margarita was on the sweet side, but there was a spirit balance so it went down smoothly enough to order a second. Service was friendly - and I appreciate that the waitstaff recognized we were there to catch up not having seen each other for a while so came back as needed.

We had a private party here in their downstairs area, and I can't say enough about how easy it was to coordinate or how professional the staff was. We were looking for a place to host a birthday party and learned that this space has a downstairs area that they offer for such occasions. They state that the maximum capacity is around 60 people and they require a minimum spend to reserve the space (but they don't charge for the actual space rental). The private space is downstairs, away from the huge crowd upstairs, and it has a fairly sized bar area in the front with a half dozen tables/benches in the back. They decor is rustic, similar to the upstairs area, with raw wood and overhead stringed bulb lighting. We had ordered balloons to be delivered from Balloon Saloon. When we arrived about 30 minutes before our designated start time, balloons were in the middle of the room waiting to be setup, and we were greeted by the friendliest and most helpful staff. They served us drinks throughout the night and updated us on the bar tab periodically. They also let us know the amount we were projected to reach based on the pace of the night in case we needed to close down earlier or encourage people to have a few more drinks. They had a great selection of cocktails and beers on tap, and their kitchen offered a range of small platters--think mac and cheese bites, bruschetta, etc. Everything from the drinks to the staff and the space was perfect for our party! The one critique that I'll make is that leading up to our party we emailed a few different times without response and needed to ask multiple times for a response from the staff responsible for their correspondence. Despite that, I'd easily recommend this place for anyone hosting a small party in the area.

My husband and I stumbled upon The Wren after walking for ages trying to find a restaurant with outdoor seating that was open in the late afternoon on a Friday. The Wren appeared like an oasis, with its adorable outdoor booths and festive decor. Our temperatures were checked and we completed a contact form as soon as we were seated. We ordered the disco nachos and a couple fish tacos to share. We also enjoyed some cocktails as well. The drinks were well balanced and the snacks were just right. Also, our server was great and checked in often to make sure we had everything we needed. I'll definitely consider The Wren for a meal or drinks next time I'm in NYC!

Great bar with a large, beautiful space and good drinks. I only had drinks, so can't comment on food. We came on a weekday night. They had a relatively large space with plenty of tables, which is a bit rare in this area, and I can see it being great for large group, too. The decor was also very pretty. The drinks are generally solid and quite interesting - the gin n roses is my favorite.
