On the Grid : The Writer's Block

"The Writer's Block has the distinction of being the only independent bookstore in Las Vegas. There's a lot under their roof including a great art, design, & architecture section. Into cool notepads? They rotate through brands you've never seen before, and you'd die to get again. TWB has also branded their own set of games, toys, and other random offerings in a Wes Anderson meets Eames sort of way. A secondary space as big as the shop itself known as The Codex is their workshop space that hosts a full calendar of events. They even have a book machine that will print, bind and cut a library-quality softcover book in a few minutes." - David Hardy

Best Coffee Shops in Las Vegas | Eater Vegas

"Coffee is paired with paperbacks at Writer’s Block, a book store with a cafe tucked inside. Look for the birdcage filled with books to find the coffee counter, which fills the entire shop with the scent of espresso and tea. The cafe offers all the classics like drip coffee, cold brew, a cappuccino, and just straight espresso. Specialty drinks include a fizzy strawberry lemonade, hot chocolate made with Guittard, and a strawberry matcha. Browse through the store, which doubles as an artificial bird sanctuary and say “hi” to Baron the (real) bunny rabbit next to the children’s books." - Janna Karel

Great cafe and delightfully unique book space! Tea, coffee, smoothies, and pastries with wonderful service and a comfortable space to enjoy. Read, write, and soak in the relaxed ambiance after you explore the the amazing halls of books…and nooks… and the crazy wonderful creativity of the space. They have a great selection of books, gifts, and birds of every variation all in a beautiful environment. The Writers’s Block has something for everyone and it’s a wonderful reason to skip away from the strip for a lovely afternoon.

So.. this is a throwback to when some of the gang and I visited back last October. One of the troop being a proper little bookworm and loves a good bookshop. So after a little visit in the famed Gold & Silver Pawn Shop, I took them on a little detour and stopped off here as a surprise for our book nerd! It just so happened to be National Bookshop Day back in the UK which I didn’t know at the time, so added bonus there. Honestly the photos don’t do this place the justice. It’s a quirky, exotic and vibrant store like no other. Well stacked with books for everyone and has way more to offer than just books. There’s a coffee shop that serves snacks and has a separate seating area. Some people, that looked like locals, looked like they use this spot to get away from the office and do a little work or study there whilst on a coffee break. They have intriguing displays and these intricate pretty cubby-holes with writer’s desks and writers paraphernalia which I think is use for book signings and writers workshops that they advertise. There’s a real life bunny in there, and there’s an adoption scheme for the many artificial birds that are dotted around the store. You can buy stationary, tote bags, toys and other gifts and souvenirs. And there’s a strong sense of community here where they host book signings and support local authors. The team there were so welcoming and knowledgeable and it’s felt like they don’t get many tourists venture this far off the strip/Fremont. And massive shout out to the team working that day. One of the staff members there was actually from Croydon! So I had to ask, where was worse, in terms of danger out of downtown and the Cronx. I’m not going to glamorise or shame either, but I walked out of there with a newfound confidence coming from South London and working all over Croydon. If you’re a bookworm and fancied a little break of the hustle and bustle of downtown and want something a little different. This might be a pleasant surprise. Not something you would find on people’s Las Vegas bucket lists, but it’s certainly worth a visit if you’re a bookworm.

Google
Fun and funky bookshop. They have a great selection from new books, trending reads and one never heard of. Great selection of knickknacks and fun gifts. Small Cafe at the entrance. I'd definitely go back!

Google
Very cute and artsy. This is more of a niche store with a fairly small selection in several genres but there were plenty of interesting books to browse and the ambiance is fantastic. Art pieces for sale along with the books. Coffee shop attached at the front. Pros: -So unbelievably cute to walk through. -Good recommendations from people who actually like reading books. -Local books and artwork highlighted. -Great kids, YA and graphic novels sections. -Good philosophy/art/history sections. Cons: -No reading nooks or chairs to sit and consider new books, just stand in the aisle blocking traffic while browsing. -SciFi section is a single bookshelf mostly consisting of the big name classics. -Fantasy is 2 shelves with a similar problem. -The highlighted books tables had no signage explaining what/why/for who. Just piles of books that didn't always seem to go together. All together a great stop if your in the area and want to browse but not the bookstore I would choose for a wider selection.

Such a gem of a store and community space. The book clubs are wonderful and plentiful, something for everyone’s taste. I haven’t checked out the coffee shop but the aesthetics are whimsical.

Google
This is a very interesting place and my family love it. It's not a traditional bookstore but with more unique gifts and coffee shop.

Google
This bookstore has a great vibe and the music really adds to the atmosphere. I loved browsing through the book section, but I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t any seating nearby. It would’ve been nice to have a spot to sit while flipping through a book. I get that they don’t want people bringing unpaid books into the cafe area that makes sense. But maybe a couple of chairs by the shelves wouldn’t hurt. Overall, still a cool spot, but a small change like that would make it even better!

Google
This place is such a nice escape from reality. The coffee is amazing and the bookstore is wonderful. They have so many hidden treasures through the store. Everywhere you look, there is something neat and Interesting to look at. You leave this world behind for just a few moments. They have a good selection of journals beating most of Amazons prices by about $5. I can’t say that for everything, but for these, that was the case. Ink for fountain pens is comparable to other places, in person, and online. They have Kaweco and Diamine inks with a bit of a selection. One I couldn’t find online, so super exciting. A good place for nice pencils as well. They have several Blackwing options, as well as others. You need to get away, step into another world and visit The Writers Block.

Yelp
I found a signed edition of one of my most anticipated book of the year. Hundred percent would recommend this amazing bookstore

Yelp
The most charming and well-stocked indie bookstore I've been to outside of NYC or Boston. If you want to find one-of-a-kind gift items, well-curated collections, and joy-inducing whimsy, plan to spend an hour or three browsing and enjoying the space. Coffee on site with excellent options and small cafe at the front to dip into your new additions to your personal library.

Yelp
Unique spot with a small coffee shop (4-5 tables inside and a couple outside) with an attached book store. The coffee was relatively cheap considering Vegas prices however I'm a cold brew fanatic and they only serve a "flashed cold brew" with ice in it so it ended up being a water down coffee... They do have a selection of tea related beverages, smoothies and a couple breakfast items. Service was quick!

Yelp
A hidden gem! My husband and I went here on a Sunday afternoon and it was pretty busy. There werent that man tables for seating and every one as taken, but we came to look at the bookstore. As you walk into the store you would never even notice the hug bookstore in the back. As we entered, there was a lush garden feel surrounded the walkway with cardboard cut outs of famous writers. The bookstore felt very cozy and warm feeling. I though it was super cute. I would most likely go back and try out some of their coffees.

Yelp
What a fun bookstore! It's like a mini version of the one in DTLA (the last bookstore). I wish there was more seating tbh as we had to politely ask a man if we can share his table with him since there weren't any other available seats-even outside too! I got a vegan green smoothie, my husband got the chai tea and my friend got the tropical smoothie. Both enjoyed their drinks and mine wasn't too bad. Very healthy tasting lol cute place to just drop on in.

Yelp
I think books are like people, in the sense that they'll turn up in your life when you most need them. - Emma Thompson. I have the good fortune of eorking walking distance from this wonderful coffeeshop/indie bookstore/artificial bird sanctuary. As such I come here daily for some iced green tea, a table to write at and most importantly inspiration. With an outdoor patio and a small seating area inside, it is a nice place to relax during my lunch break. In addition to my tea, they have a variety of coffee, a few smoothies and some snacks in the form of pastries. While enjoying your drink, you can venture into the stacks and find a nice selection of books including some indie publishers. The staff is always friendly and I am in there so often they often have my drink ready before I finish ordering it. This is my happy place.

Yelp
I learned about this place pretty recently and I got super excited to check it out. I typically love to support independent bookstores whenever I travel so the idea of having one in town was very exciting. We went on a Sunday afternoon and they were pretty busy. We started at the cafe and ordered some coffee and a smoothie. My wife said her coffee was great and I loved my smoothie! It took a while to get our order as it was pretty busy and there was only one barista making all the drinks. The bookstore itself was small but efficient. They had all the genres that you expect at most bookstores. I noticed that they typically only have one copy of books that are not new releases. And they only seem to have the most popular selections from an author; however, they can always order books for you. The price was a bit higher than I was expecting. I'm always prepared to pay a premium at an independent bookstore but this was a little higher. That being said, I still think it's important to support our independent bookstores and am excited to return.

Yelp
Quaint little bookstore with many great finds. It's so whimsical and cute! Lots of books and gifts. The pictures say it all. Located in a less busy area with plenty of street parking. Cafe located at the front of the store.

Yelp
I always make an effort to visit local bookshops when I travel, and even though I've been to Vegas many times I never expected to find a place like this there. I was really impressed with the curation, and was surprised to see so many translated books of Japanese Authors in stock! If you love classic literature, poetry, horror, romance, comics, ect...they have it all. And they have a coffee shop in the front! I didn't try the coffee but it was busy the whole time I was there. Staff are friendly and there appears to be 2 hr street parking. We used the TRC Bikes to get there from Downtown but I imagine parking isn't too hard to find.

Yelp
This is the book store/coffee shop out of my dreams. As you walk in, the smells of coffee brewing and crisp paper greet you. To me It's like heaven in sin city. Located in arts district of Las Vegas, The details of this place are endless and there is something for everyone within these walls. My curious mind absorbed everything I could see here. You can find street parking or walk from a nearby parking lot. Today I tried the iced cold brew with sugar free vanilla syrup. It was divine. Enjoy your visit to this amazing place.

Yelp
Nestled in the area of downtown, lies the writers block. This is such a cute bookstore that's so different compared to Barnes and noble. I love that you walk in and there is a coffee shop that you can get while looking at books or finding your book and then sitting there to read it! There are so many different books to look at here from every genre you can think of and each shelf is labeled, a children's section and nick nacks to match each section! It is so unique in here and I will def be back

Yelp
Mood - Fun Fact About Me I am a nerd big time. My dad was very strict and had his idea mapped out for my life. One being able to fully comprehend the English language. I started reading at 2 years and could fully process and comprehend the newspaper at 5 years old. So whenever I see bookstores it is one of my love languages. Upon entering was quickly greeted. There is an immediate area to buy drinks and pastries. Then begins the journey of follow the path to see where it leads you. As you peruse through the book store your visuals are filled with nature/ science/ health/ and the macabre. There is truly something for everyone in here. This was by far one of the neatest experiences I've had in a long time. The staff and the details were on point. Very engaging should you choose to bring children of all ages with you. Would most def recommend- pricing is Las Vegas. None the less can you put a price on opening doors to the Mind? In my opinion no. This day and age everything is online. With this experience if you allow it, you'll engage the NOW. Location is 6th/Bonneville- ample street parking.

Yelp
We love indie bookshops and were looking for something to do in Vegas besides the Strip, and I can safely say that visiting this store was the #1 highlight of our trip. The decor is amazing, with old style streetlamps along the main aisle, avian stuffed animals hanging from the ceiling, a couple of staff offices made up to look like cozy home libraries, and more. The book selection is eclectic and fascinating, and the non-book items are just as interesting -- I especially liked the figurines based on Bosch's Garden of Earthly Delights. Don't miss the notecards near the front that have a font theme -- e.g., one was for the Impact font, with various retro images that the particular font evokes (I was told the owner designed these cards). Staff are super friendly. There's also a nice little cafe at the front where I got a really good smoothie that was a godsend in the Vegas heat. We will definitely return here each time we come back to Vegas, and I've also been telling my friends. Go now!

Yelp
As a local, I rarely make it down to Downtown. However, I was in the neighborhood today, and I stumbled upon the Writer's Block. As I have said before, I like my coffee outings to be an experience, and the Writer's Block did nit disappoint. This shop is removed from the hustle and bustle of Las Vegas Blvd being just off of Bonneville and 6th Street. However, their location does not prevent a crowd. All the tables were taken, but I did not mind, I was able to wander through the awesome little bookstore attached to the cafe. It was hit out, so my husband and I ordered a regular iced coffee with milk and sweetner. The cashier was very pleasant and the barista was prompt. The coffee was not too bold. Some may say it could use more flavor, but I liked it the way it was. They also did not overfill the cup with ice, which was nice too. We opted not to order snacks, but they had a variety to choose from if people wanted some. Price was fair, especially for the location. The book store is a perfect little oasis for wanderers and book lovers. They use the space perfectly, and I could easily get lost in a corner with my coffee and a good book. As if the place couldn't get any better...they have an adorable rabbit too! I don't go to downtown often, but I will make an exception to come back here again! Coffee Rating: 5/5 beans Food Rating: N/a Atmosphere: 5/5 beans Price: 5/5beans Overall: 5/5 beans

Yelp
I loved this place. You enter through the coffee shop which does have shorter hours than the bookstore. It has sweets and coffee/tea with some seating. The bookstore is adorable and winds around. There is no seating but it is decorated beautifully and has a secret garden vibe. They have all the popular categories albeit smaller selection. They also have cute and unique gifts strewn throughout the end caps and used as part of the decor. It took me additional time to wander and look at this stuff after I found my book. The prices are fair. The staff was accommodating. It had a fair amount of people shopping but didn't feel crowded. Perhaps, it would if you were fighting for the same sections. If you like the Barnes and Noble vibe this probably isn't for you. But if you like unique bookstores with character, you'll probably love this place

Yelp
Husband and I decided to check out the coffee and book shop last min. I enjoyed the spinach croissant and latte, they had a unique taste to them. I enjoyed walking through the bookstore, reminded me if old times for sure. Overall great little place to enjoy books and coffee.

Yelp
Not featured: their coffee shop/coffee bar. This place was SO cool. One of my favorite places I went while I was in Vegas. The atmosphere was so nice, the place is a little smaller walk way wise, but it made for a comfy reader atmosphere. The decorations they have scattered around the store make the whole place feel so unique, unlike anywhere I've been before. People were sitting in their coffee shop area working, while others were getting lost in the book shelves. I found some gorgeous Jane Austen editions I just had to grab while I was there! The prices were a little on the higher side, but I loved the vibe overall. Def check out on your next visit if you're a reader!

Yelp
The coolest bookstore ever been in my life. My cousins had this place bookmarked for annual SB weekend visit to Vegas. Also peaked interest the bunny they have in the store and the story behind it. It located right in downtown. It depends on day and time comes to parking anything in downtown. We went odd time so lucky found parking spot on street right in front. The moment walk in feel different setup then normal bookstore. The cashier in front, coffee shop, and little area chill read new book or relax with coffee. Beyond that definitely place got personality stands alone. Not just rows of bookshelves but subtle interior designs walk around. The bookstore itself not big in size but amazed diversity and amount of books they have in the store. It broken down into sections depending on book. Also two rooms or displays thought cool might be writers room look like in life. The rabbit!! We had hard time finding it so asked one of the employees. There whole story about it believe above they mention. We were like that cool see big bunny in bookstore. It in youth section if looking for it. Overall if looking bookstore different and cool. The Writers Block. Winnah!

Yelp
My daughter ordered books from The Writers Block and they were ready to be picked up so we went drove over from Blue Diamond . There was easy parking as a spot was available on the side of the book store. Upon walking in to the left a counter where the orders are filed by last name. She picked her books up. In front of us as we walked in is the counter where people can order coffee and other drinks. It's a neat set up. Tables are nearby for anyone to sit. As we walked in further to the left the book store unfolds into various niches with the titles of the type of books each bookcase holds such as philosophy, etc,. It was fun exploring each area. It's larger than I imagined. They have cool kites, art, faux birds and a real resident bunny in a cage. She made more book selections and a Shakespeare ruler while we perused the store. The employees are friendly and helpful. It's a great place to go. It's a local business and we should support them. We will be back!

Yelp
Right down the street from Pawn Shop is Writers Block. Such a unique book store. Employees are great. You can tell just from talking to them they love their job and it shows. Coffee is great and the store is fun to walk through. Keep an eye out for the giant bird cage and lamp post.
google avatar

Vanessa D.

Yelp
This is such a whimsical place! When you walk in, you're greeted by a little cafe enclosed in a large bird cage (which looks so cool!) and areas to sit and have your beverage. If you keeping walking, you'll see the entrance to the bookstore section and are instantly transported! The decorations are plentiful but not overdone. You don't feel like things are being hoarded or placed haphazardly. It's sleek, clean and eye catching! Each section is dedicated to a different genre and it's so enchanting. Every book lovers dream!
google avatar

Natasha W.

Yelp
First time at this book store and the last. As I entered the book store I was not greeted or felt welcomed. The employee behind the counter was on the phone, which sounded like a personal call. I reviewed the menu for what to order. I waited patiently while she continued her conversation. After waiting 2 minutes I look down and there's a small sign that says coffee shop close. Could she not have stoped her conversation and at least greeted me and informed me that they were not serving. Very bad customer service and for that I will not be returning.

Yelp
This is an amazing little Coffeeshop AND BOOKSTORE in Vegas. I saw an ad for them somewhere on the internet (either Instagram or Tiktok) and made sure to put it on my travel list the next time I went to Vegas. I met with my friend Sara and we enjoyed some delicious coffees. It wasn't a super quick making of the coffee, but it didn't take forever either. It was the perfect wait time for coffee. (Although lets be honest, immediate caffeine would be ideal ;) but I know it takes love and care to craft a good coffee!) I didn't realize the EXTENT of how big the bookstore portion was. It extends quite a ways back and you can easily spend hours perusing the selection and enjoying the decor. I ended up buying just one book the day I visited, though I could have easily bought way more. Note: only metered parking nearby, but I didn't try and hunt for free parking.
google avatar

Jon L.

Yelp
I have been meaning to visit this book store/ coffee shop for a while. I finally had some time off and the motivation to ride my bike downtown today. The place is so cute. It's got a fake bird sanctuary inside, a very cute small cafe, and a great selection of books and local crafts. Definitely coming back.
google avatar

Jeannine C.

Yelp
I love independently owned bookstores. The book prices here I believe are a little more expensive than amazon or a huge chain store like Barnes & Noble however some of us don't mind the prices because we love the vibes and actually enjoy going into a bookstore where the staff is more personable and knowledgeable. I personally enjoy stepping into this book store to purchase a book instead of wait around for it to come in the mail. I get it, times are tough but I'm always going to choose a local independent bookstore first over other options. Also, if your a coffee or hot chocolate drinker and love to actually enjoy your experience by staying awhile to perhaps read your book or just soak up the vibes there is a coffee shop inside with a great selection. The only thing I don't like is the parking situation. Be prepared to either pay for parking on the street or find somewhere you can squeeze into on the street for free and walk to The Writers Block from there. However, this place is located downtown near Fremont in The Art District so it comes with the territory.
google avatar

Yelp
super cool place. workers say hi/bye. dont provide help. too busy talking with each other. books everywhere. i didnt buy anything but ya very fancy, modern, whimsical. parking i guess is on the street

Yelp
this was a cool little book shop downtown that I took my daughter to. She loved looking at all the little birds and they had neat toys that she got a kick out of. We would like to go again. the only thing is the little bunny that lives in a cage there should be closer to staff. a lot of the kids that come in there aren't taught to not stick their hands in cages and honestly harass the rabbit. to be honest in this town with lawyers on every corner both in space and in print, its a lawsuit waiting to happen because someone isn't watching their child and instilling appropriate behavior. just a thought to the owner.
google avatar

Christy L.

Yelp
One of my favorite things about independently owned businesses is how unique and one of a kind the place feels. Everything about this place is amazing! It's also a great place to check out if you're looking to support small or uplift the LGBTQ+ community in Las Vegas. :) When you first walk in is a small food and drink area, almost like a micro cafe with limited seating. Past the cafe is the bookstore that also doubles as an artificial bird sanctuary (basically decorated with fake birds and bird accessories everywhere - such a fun idea!). The selection of books runs wild, but you'll quickly notice the books aren't all your typical classics or popular reads. Many of them were very clearly thoughtfully curated which I loved. They also carry other fun goods like stationery and giftable knick-knacks. And there's a bunny in the young adult section! Everything about this place is just so cool! Plus, the staff are extremely friendly. They'll definitely help you with anything you need!
google avatar

Kiana D.

Yelp
I'm so obsessed with this bookstore. I was skeptical to visit after reading all the reviews that only harp on how LGBTQ+ friendly it is as I assumed it was only an LGBTQ+ bookstore, but it's not! They do carry plenty by a diverse group of authors, but they carry a full selection of mainstream books as well. The first time I was here, I picked up a novel I'd been wanting to read, but hadn't seen in any store yet and a novel I hadn't heard of before, but am excited to read! Pricing is a little up there, but I'm sure they don't get the bulk discounts that somewhere like Barnes & Noble or Target does. I'm happy to spend a little more to support such a great local small business like this one. In addition to their vast book selection, they have a ton of gift-y items including beautiful puzzles, sticker books, vases, tote bags, and so much more. I'll be buying birthday presents here for the rest of my life, for sure. I actually visited two weekends in a row to bring different friends, and I'll be back soon, for sure. I'm excited to try out their coffee shop as well!

Yelp
What a cute magical bookstore located in Downtown Las Vegas. I've been wanting to pop in and check it out. They have a nice selection of books, stationary, cute unique gifts, and a small coffee shop inside. The atmosphere in this little gem is very welcoming and calm. Next time I plan to come back alone to spend some more time looking through the books and grab a coffee or tea! Oh and don't forget to stop and look at the cute little bunny in the children's section. Definitely a cute spot to check out if you're a book lover!
google avatar

Jessica C.

Yelp
What a cute book store/coffee shop! We started a book club so we wanted a cute place where we can meet up. None of had been to the writers block so we decided to check it out, there's plenty of parking in the street. Once you're inside you're greeted by the employees who were very nice and friendly. They're inside what looks like a bird cage (so cute) taking orders. The coffee was very really good, and honestly the only reason this place didn't get a 5 start rating is because they don't have a lot of food options :/ if they added even maybe more pastries it would definitely go a long ways! They have so many books to choose from once inside and they're all well organized. They even have a random cute little rabbit! I would definitely recommend to check it out

Yelp
My son and i visited on a sunday since we saw how cool this bookstore is, we had some coffee and looked for some books. The bookstore is super cute and very big, it's full of anything you can want. There's even a resident bunny which was adorable but to buys eating. We really enjoyed our visit and you can order online and pick it up if they don't have the books you are looking for , they also sell a lot of hand made decorations, art stuff and games.
google avatar

Yelp
This is such a cute little shop, it has great book selection and quaint little things. I've visited 3 separate times and all 3 times I've received "odd" service from the cashier or barista. I would say if you plan to be quiet and keep to yourself? Take the visit. But don't expect grand welcoming vibes.

Yelp
My daughter found this cute book store. There is plenty of street parking. There is also a small coffee shop inside. We ordered a latte and matcha. She had a raisin bagel and I order a chocolate croissant. The drinks were ok nothing really special the chocolate croissant was really good. Each section of the book store has a theme. They have a good variety of books.

Yelp
Stopped in with friends on a Sunday afternoon. I've always heard this was a cute little cafe and bookstore so I was excited to go. This place is popular! There was barely any seating for three around 2pm. We ended up sitting at the bar area right at the entrance. We spent about two and a half hours here, first enjoying our drinks and chatting. It was a scorching day so I ended up getting a green smoothie. The ingredients weren't on the menu board, but it tasted like there was banana and apples in there. I actually really enjoyed it. My friends got a green tea, vegan banana bread, and an ice brewed coffee. We loved it all. We then browsed the bookstore side and got lost in all it had to offer. Every corner and nook was filled with books, trinkets, and everything in between. We rounded so many corners, getting deeper into the store and all it had to offer. We didn't purchase anything other than food, but we really enjoyed our time here. We'll definitely be back!

Yelp
An excellent local bookstore. I only stopped in here for about 15 minutes to grab a book for my nephew; they have a great children's section and had some thoughtful toys and stuffed animals to go along with the books. The cafe area was packed when I visited, so I didn't grab a coffee. But I noticed they are serving Olympia Coffee, which is a favorite of mine, and the baristas seemed to take their work seriously. Next time I'm there, I'll definitely give the coffee and food a try. The cafe had a casual but energetic atmosphere and all the food I saw looked quite good. People definitely seemed pleased with their food and drink.

Yelp
Cute bookstore not far from Fremont Experience downtown. Not too big and not too small. It fits the Las Vegas neighborhood. Attractive with a coffee shop inside where you can sit, work, or relax. Staff is helpful and definitely want you to buy a few cups of beverages at the counter. Modern and unique. What I liked were all the green colors of plants and leaves blooming inside throughout the bookstore. There are private sections filled with holiday passions and good vibes. Huge windows gives off great natural lighting inside. 2-hours free public parking spaces on streets. Convenient and not overly crowded. They have many good book selections inside. Nice and quiet. Only thing I didn't like was the fact that they don't have any chairs for people to sit on at every book section inside the store. I was looking around for a good spot to read and relax. It's not your outdoor lounging bookstore either, but they do have a few chairs and small tables outside. I hope they put more outside. Most people sit and gather in their coffee shop area which is usually packed with visitors. Highly decorated and filled with colorful stuff inside. If only they would place chairs in every corner or section of the bookstore. Overall, it's an interesting bookstore for writers and creators. Find your inspirations. Not many tourists or locals are aware of this place, but it's definitely very modern. They just need more chairs here. Lots of beautiful gifts to choose from. Not bad at all.

Yelp
If you're looking for atmosphere in a bookstore, this is the place! Walking in you find the coffee bar and small Cafe. There are tables indoors as well as outdoors on the patio. The bookstore is sectioned well and easy to find the genre your looking for. Make sure to look high and low and catch the small details that make this store unique. Regular priced books only, but if this store doesn't have it, no one will! Street parking is cheap and convenient.

Yelp
This cafe, bookstore, and fake bird sanctuary will engulf you and cause you to lose time. The books seem to be never ending. Sprinkled in are pieces of art, collectibles, toys, and even a rabbit. Yes, a real rabbit calls this bookstore home. I enjoyed a lavender latte which was calming and refreshing. There is street parking that is pay by meter or app. It's a little gem located downtown and a place you can easily spend hours losing yourself.

Yelp
Absolutely love this book store. I come here to purchase my books rather than any other places. All the employees are very friendly and helpful. The cafe is wonderful as well. I love the collection of books and little things throughout the store. Always something new and fun to find.

Yelp
This is probably one of the coolest bookstores that I've ever been to with it's chill coffee house vibe and excellent book selection. If you are tired of buying on Amazon and want to experience a amazing place to get a book, study or go on a date even, check out the Writer's Block! Staff are super friendly. We orders drinks and a pastry on our way in and once we were done shopping, it was ready to go for us to sit. The drinks were great and so were the pastries. I love that they offer cold and hot ones as well as vegan and gluten free ones. They have tables inside as well outside on a small terrace. The book selection for such a small bookstore is great and staff was more than happy to make recommendations when I ask and everything is pretty well organized by genre or type. I will definitely be back to get more books once I finish what I bought this time in hopefully just a few months.

Yelp
I love this place because they have unique gifts from all over the world and for all ages, and not just books. One of the sales reps ... I unfortunately forgot to write down his name ... Trevor? Travis? Trent? He helped me a lot when I had to find last-minute gifts for 3 different people. Really appreciate him! Look forward to coming back again.

Yelp
If you love books and coffee, this is the place for you! It's a cafe attached to a bookstore. Very cute but their coffee is very good too. I had one of their pour overs and wow. So good. It is so fun to walk around and look around the bookstore while you wait/sip on your coffee. The service was excellent. I would definitely come back here!!

This bookstore is amazing. The amount of care and thought that went into the decorating and design of this store alone makes walking through it an adventure. Truly a gorgeous shop for books AND/OR gifts for people of all ages... I bought books and figurines!

Yelp
I'm such a coffee lover and i love experiencing new coffee shops. I seen so many tik toks about this coffee shop and had to try it since i love books so much and it seemed so cute. It's a very cute shop, but nothing special in my eyes. I ordered the strawberry matcha (didn't taste any strawberry) and chocolate croissant.

Yelp
Such a quaint spot to wind down at after a day in the sun. The setup of this neighborhood book shop cafe is neatly categorized by genres with each section accented with themed decor. Don't pass pass up the selection of books handpicked by their staff on the table display! The artistry that went in to designing this space is stunning and were always finding new knickknacks that always catch our eye when we visit!

Yelp
I love this place. It's relaxing and feels like I'm someplace else temporarily and not in Vegas. They have a nice selection of books. Delicious coffee and pastries. One of a kind gifts for that person who has everything. A visit to Writer's Block isn't complete without seeing Baron the Bunny. Most times he is sleeping or relaxing so try not to wake or startle him. As a former bunny owner, I like being able to see him here. Employees are always friendly and helpful. Interior and exterior is clean and ascetically pleasing. Parking is limited but we always seem to find street parking. Be mindful of neighbors nearby. I highly recommend, The Writer's Block. I hope you decide to check them out :) *Support Local * LGBTQ Owned * Staff Fully Vaccinated *
