"Coffee is paired with paperbacks at Writer’s Block, a book store with a cafe tucked inside. Look for the birdcage filled with books to find the coffee counter, which fills the entire shop with the scent of espresso and tea. The cafe offers all the classics like drip coffee, cold brew, a cappuccino, and just straight espresso. Specialty drinks include a fizzy strawberry lemonade, hot chocolate made with Guittard, and a strawberry matcha. Browse through the store, which doubles as an artificial bird sanctuary and say “hi” to Baron the (real) bunny rabbit next to the children’s books." - Janna Karel

"The Writer's Block has the distinction of being the only independent bookstore in Las Vegas. There's a lot under their roof including a great art, design, & architecture section. Into cool notepads? They rotate through brands you've never seen before, and you'd die to get again. TWB has also branded their own set of games, toys, and other random offerings in a Wes Anderson meets Eames sort of way. A secondary space as big as the shop itself known as The Codex is their workshop space that hosts a full calendar of events. They even have a book machine that will print, bind and cut a library-quality softcover book in a few minutes." - David Hardy

Very cute and artsy. This is more of a niche store with a fairly small selection in several genres but there were plenty of interesting books to browse and the ambiance is fantastic. Art pieces for sale along with the books. Coffee shop attached at the front. Pros: -So unbelievably cute to walk through. -Good recommendations from people who actually like reading books. -Local books and artwork highlighted. -Great kids, YA and graphic novels sections. -Good philosophy/art/history sections. Cons: -No reading nooks or chairs to sit and consider new books, just stand in the aisle blocking traffic while browsing. -SciFi section is a single bookshelf mostly consisting of the big name classics. -Fantasy is 2 shelves with a similar problem. -The highlighted books tables had no signage explaining what/why/for who. Just piles of books that didn't always seem to go together. All together a great stop if your in the area and want to browse but not the bookstore I would choose for a wider selection.

This bookstore has a great vibe and the music really adds to the atmosphere. I loved browsing through the book section, but I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t any seating nearby. It would’ve been nice to have a spot to sit while flipping through a book. I get that they don’t want people bringing unpaid books into the cafe area that makes sense. But maybe a couple of chairs by the shelves wouldn’t hurt. Overall, still a cool spot, but a small change like that would make it even better!

This place is such a nice escape from reality. The coffee is amazing and the bookstore is wonderful. They have so many hidden treasures through the store. Everywhere you look, there is something neat and Interesting to look at. You leave this world behind for just a few moments. They have a good selection of journals beating most of Amazons prices by about $5. I can’t say that for everything, but for these, that was the case. Ink for fountain pens is comparable to other places, in person, and online. They have Kaweco and Diamine inks with a bit of a selection. One I couldn’t find online, so super exciting. A good place for nice pencils as well. They have several Blackwing options, as well as others. You need to get away, step into another world and visit The Writers Block.

The staff here were so lovely! The cafe is adorable when you initially walk in -- the giant birdcage motif is awesome, and I LOVED all the birds (and bird themed knickknacks throughout the shop. The selection was vast, and the layout and vibe of the shop was the perfect blend of organized and jam-packed. Anyone could easily spend houuuuurs here browsing. Special shout out to the team who was there on August 18 around 1 - 2 PM ish, who helped my partner (now fiancé) propose to me! We felt so cared for and you were all so kind <3 Mikaela the Partridge has pride of place on my bookshelf at home and her autobirdography tag is now my most treasured bookmark.

Awesome spot. Large collection of books and novelties. The layout of the sections had me feeling like I was on an adventure and wasn't as overwhelming as looking through larger bookstores like B&N. The apparel and totes were super beautifully illustrated as well. Already thinking about what I hope to pick up on future visits. In addition to the bookstore, I also enjoyed the cafe's pastries and latte❤️‍🔥

The Writer’s Block is an lovely indie bookstore off the strip. It is a treat for the eyes. In every corner there is something new to explore. I only wish there were books by local authors and stickers. Also there is not a great deal of parking around the building.

The reason you come here is the bookstore and the atmosphere it's very nice very clean fantastic selection of books indoor and outdoor seating parking on the street was easy to find the only thing I was a little disappointed with was how small the muffin was I'm so sick of Bidenomics forcing everybody to keep prices the same and then give you half of what they used to give you. The Latte was delicious and presented very nice in a ceramic cup

Super cute coffee shop and amazing book store along with it! I wish there was more for the graphic novel section but other than that it's definitely a good place to stop for a bit. Would go again:)
