Awesome little neighborhood bar and really friendly staff! They are cash only but have a wide selection of drinks including non alcoholic options. The fries and tots are great and I recommend sitting out on the big patio. They also have a coffee bar during the day and they serve up some tasty espresso (and the coffee bar takes credit cards/mobile pay)

Awesome corner space near Jackson park. They have indoor and outdoor seating - really nice patio out back. The food is really yummy and very well portioned too. Cash only. Highly recommend this place. Drinks are good too and vibes are even better. Staff are all really friendly here of course.

Wow... we simply don't know how we have never had a meal here before. It was pre-COVID the last time we were here for a show, but we never had a meal. After our visit late this afternoon, we will be back often! The drinks are great, for sure. And the rustic dining area is an absolutely delightful plus! And the food, well, sure, it's simple pub food, but it is the tastiest pub food we've had in a very long time. Be sure to stop by here for a nosh and a kolsch, or any other beverage. You will be happy you did!

Great place to chill out after a long week of hard work. Exceptionally tasty food selections accompanied by crisp and refreshing IPA served on draft. Parking not a problem😁

Came with a couple of classmates after class, food was good and had a generally good time in the space up until I was served my last drink. Bartender told me that if I didn't tip, just go drink at home? After grabbing my drink and walking back to my table, the bartender walks up and tells me to not come back ever. Apparently the whole thing happened due to a tipping misunderstanding where they broke the bill for me, but didnt take 15% even though I had explicitly given them the permission to. Honestly really soured my experience there especially as the bartender was very agressive in regards to the tipping policy. Would have expected to be treated nirmally regardless of what tip or no tip I had given.

Support local music, local venues, and local bartenders. Get the asada tots, you're welcome.

A hole in the wall place with good food and well-sized covered back patio. I ordered the veggie burger with tater tots because the patty was made in house and it hit the spot after a long bike ride! I'll have to come back and try the tofu wrap- I appreciate how a small bar has TWO vegetarian options. This bar looks like a great third place - it was playing a women's rugby game on the projector at noon on a Saturday with a devoted fan base, and posters advertised various local music groups and trivia a few weeks a month. Logistics: - CASH ONLY, ATM on premises - indoor and covered and enclosed back patio seating - extremely limited street parking nearby but close to Caltrain - vegetarian and one vegan option

Classic dive bar with a good beer selection and some of the best tots in the city. Surly bartenders, but that's part of the experience. One curious aspect...cash only, but they don't really have change on hand, so make sure to bring small bills.

I came back to have lunch here, I needed to fulfill a craving for a bar burger. I did ask the staff if they'd recommend that or the drunk pollo sandwich which also sounded good, and they said go with the burger. They're cash only and the menu seems to reflect the total price which is nice. Not sure if it's today or everyday but it seems like there's just one person manning the food side but I got my food in less than the time quoted (15 minutes). I was in no rush and enjoying a drink so that was fine. The food was fresh and hot and I dug into the fries first which were crispy and nicely salted. The burger patty was much thicker than I was expecting and everything tasted delicious. I'd describe this spot as a dive bar but the patio is nice and bright with lots of picnic table seating. I can't speak to what the evenings look like but it's a chill spot to grab food or a drink during the afternoon.

No frills dive bar - we popped by one random Tuesday evening and they were serving happy hour drinks. There's a decent selection of beers, cider and kombucha on tap which is pretty nice since most places don't really offer cider or kombucha draft. There's a small kitchen out back serving many greasy items to help with the drinking and the loaded carne asada tots were very satisfying. The fries were pretty good too which we ordered for the non-meat eaters. For a random Tuesday they were pretty busy and I can see this spot being a great neighborhood place to pop by for evening drinks. It seems they offer live music in the evenings but we left before anyone got up on stage.

Carne asada tots, live music, a big back patio, and a good beer list. Also, grabbing food/drinks to go and taking it to the park across the street got me through some of the rougher parts of Covid lockdown, so I'll always have a place in my heart for Thee Parkside.

I have a long history with this place and usually love it and never have a problem but I went last night and got so sick from the beer. It was obvious the taps have not been cleaned. The food was still good.

Cant beat it. Great food, huge portions, good beer, and a casual environment. Plus, it is all priced right. We go here every other week after our games to enjoy some beer and snacks.

Hey everybody, Ma wife and I enjoyed an afternoon brew and some veggie tatchos:m :D they were super yummy, but no discount given for cutting out the cow. Our bartender required our vaccine cards & IDs, and was very empathetic to our afternoon case of the hazeys. The patio is open, and gave us a sweet reprieve from the windy streets today. The rock n' roll was playing, and thee park side vibes still remain. Take that Covid!

I love this venue so much. I found out about it after attending PolaCon here last year, right as the pandemic was hitting. The staff is great, the food is amazing and it's such a great place to meet up with people. I also love the fact that they have a working photobooth, 4 shots for $5. The back patio area is pretty spacious, with a lot of benches and tables. I dropped by today for a photo meet up, and I had ordered the carne Asada tator tots. I gotta say, they were super tasty. If you're looking for a bar that serves some really great food and coffee and good for meet ups with friends, this is definitely the spot!

This place is amazing! It's a tiny venue with where you can get up close and personal with the band. They also have a kitchen and they do other events here as well. The show I went to wasn't sold out so there was plenty of room to dance and move around. There's also lots of street parking which is always a bonus in SF. Make sure to check the signs for street sweeping. It's one of the most intimate venues I've been to in a long time. It's always a great time coming together to see bands.

I live in the neighborhood so thought I'd pop by Thee Parkside with a friend one day and check out the food and happy hour. The food is usual pub fare and we ordered a side of tots (very large portion) and a friend chicken sandwich with fries. Happy hour goes until 7 and the Gin Paloma was my drink of choice. It was honestly a steal for $8 for happy hour pricing and I ended up getting two (drinks were strong too!) I had a great experience eating and hanging out at Thee Parkside for happy hour, I'd absolutely recommend checking it out! Tater tots - 5/5 sooooo crispy. I always look for that crunch when I'm eating fries, tater tots, etc and the tots at Parkside were not only crispy, they had a perfect fluff on the inside as well. The seasoning was on point, with a balance of salt and Cajun style powder and it was extremely tasty. Fried chicken sandwich - 5/5 also soooooooo good. Sandwich was crispy and the buffalo flavor wasn't overbearing like some buffalo wings can be with the blue cheese, etc. it was a great accompaniment with the already delicious chicken.

I came here all the time when I had softball games in the field across the street. Awesome dive bar run by great folks. Drinks are great but honestly, my fave thing about this place is the tater tot nachos. Great little patio in the back too. Plenty of street parking

Walked by on a Saturday, and my friend and I decided to check it out. Parkside is a dive bar without the drawbacks of a dive bar. It's clean, including the restrooms, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, good food, and quality drinks. Even though the drink prices here are extremely economical for SF, it doesn't skimp on quality. I had probably one of the best margaritas on the west coast here, and I watched the friendly bartender mix up straight lime juice, a dash of agave syrup, and plenty of tequila and triple sec. I absolutely hate sweet and sour mix, and my face puckered with tart delight when I tasted it. They also have plenty of ciders, which is sometimes hard to find in dive bars. Two drinks never cost me more than $20, which I can't recall the last time I was able to say that in this part of town. Friend and I stayed for the live music, which was a nice plus, and their patio is pretty sizeable. The food menu looked awesome, and I admired being able to see all the prep being done in the kitchen. They were out of fries when I tried to order, but watching the staff prep fresh burgers by hand really made me want one! I love how simple, friendly, and neighborly Parkside is. I felt welcome and comfortable which isn't often something I say at dive bars. The crowd was chill, unpretentious (yes, dives can be pretentious among the regulars), and the food and drinks were just right.

Stay away from this place. Rude bartenders. And they are infested with rats. On the tables and running in and out the kitchen. There's videos on google map reviews. Just search "rats". Bartenders don't care at all.

Came to Parkside to get some lunch to-go and ordered the Mochiko chicken. Now I know this isn't a spot in Hawaii so I'm not expecting this to be fully authentic. However this Mochiko chicken isn't Mochiko chicken. The chicken should be of a batter but it seems to have been coated in panko bread crumbs instead. Was it tasty, yeah. But not what I was expecting. The Mac salad was ehh. I ordered with a side of rice, came with rice & tots which wasn't the worse thing. The person I came with ordered the carne asada tots. They said they really liked it. We ordered our food & took it back to our office. The tots traveled well & was still crispy.

I can't believe I haven't reviewed Thee Parkside before. I love this place... everything about it (except the bathroom). Great beer. Great food. Coffee bar if you need it. Can bring the kids, can leave the kids. Sit inside, sit outside. The bartenders are hella cool. I crush the burger and fried chicken sandwich with one of the many local beers on tap. Love this spot.

Cash only. But if you know that then its fine. We just went for dinner. We really wanted tatchos and they were absolutely wonderful! We also got the chicken sandwich which was one of the best we have had anywhere. Service was fine for a week day night. They do offer happy hour deals. We did not have much cash on us, but they did have an ATM. It is pet friendly and offer treats for the doggos. This is now part of our roation!

Yay! Visited here yesterday (Monday) for lunch and had a great experience. The food was well done, burgers were actually pretty BIG!! i kinda disliked the fact they only accept cash, I mean, its San Francisco, who Caries cash around? Lol I do... but not all the time... Anyways, will be back to try their drinks, The bar looks kinda fun and it's located in a chill area of the city...

This is my local and I am loyal as hell to it. Grab a book, get a drink and some tots (or better yet a breakfast burrito with the tots inside!) and hang out at one of the picnic tables. Love you forever, Parkside.

Well. Let's start to main point. I love the seating in the back. In sunny day where you can basically grab quick bite, cheap drinks and soak some sun. That is awesome no one can argue with that. Today I had Bloody Mary which sooooo good $7 in happy hour THUMB UP! And I got pulled pork sandwich for lunch. Very very happy. Let's see what are the cons.. 1) dirty lol. Bathroom pretty much close to the word nightmare 2) bartender can be very cool or very rude. Your luck. 3) parking is ridiculous Overall I like this place. I have been going there for couple years. All lunch time. I always order their salad and my friend always get their burgers. We always happy about our food. It is order and go seat yourself kinda place so if you need a quick short lunch. This place is for you. My favorite thing about this place is their tater tots. Very tasty. Simple and reliable. Would I recommend this place. Yes!

A bunch of my family met up here on a Sunday night to meet our cousin from Japan that was on tour playing this venue with his punk rock band. They were great & intense & the crowd enjoyed it. Intimate venue with a great vibe...cash only...easy street parking. Limited menu but their carne asada tater tots are on point!! And I was still able to get red wine too Nice patio area. Would definitely go back again for some live music of my preferred music genre.

Came here for a metal show a few nights ago. Staff was nice. Restrooms were ok. Parking was quite easy.

A throwback bar. Feels a little like the 90's. When people in San Francisco were a bit poorer and a lot more interesting. Nice outdoor patio. Food available. Good music. Good service. Good drink specials. I can't believe it took me so long to discover this spot.

Sure, Parkside has great breakfast burritos, perfect margaritas, and a sweet patio. But what really sets this place apart is the people. From the owner, to the bar and kitchen staff, to the patrons (especially the dogs!), these lovely folks really make the place feel like home away from home. I sure do miss getting sweaty at Parkside shows. Can't wait 'til COVID becomes NO-VID and we can commence partying once again! Until then, I'll be by as much as possible, picking up drinks and food to go. And as always...EVERYONE, TIP YOUR BARTENDERS!!!

One of my favorite spots - over time a lot of good places have been closing in SF and luckily this one is still here. Good food, good music, good venue. No frills and overall a good environment every single time I've come here. Plus they serve coffee in the mornings!

There's only one guy that takes your orders , cooks and serve the food. It's a cash only place which is fine. This guy doesn't wear gloves while touching food nor does he washes his hand in between handling the cash and food.... little disgusting if you ask me. -Food is average nothing special. -Soggy fries... -prepare to wait, takes about 20-30mins before you get your food, did I mention it was slow? -they forgot to give me my grilled onions that I paid for.

Walk into Three Parkside, and it feels a little bit like a grungy bar that plays Velvet Underground classics and that's its bread and butter. But is so much more than that. First off, the bar itself has a special feeling, great drinks, and the music is great. Don't be fooled by the dimly lit entrance. Next, as for the food, you walk through the bar to order over a counter In a semi-outdoor courtyard. They have a staple menu of 10 or so sandwiches, and they all look and sound great. I ordered the Bahn Mi sandwich, and it was excellent, and came with great fries. The outdoor area is comfortable, the people working here are so nice, and I feel like a true place like this - grungy and great - is hard to come by.

This place has great bartendets, great live music, especially Twang Sundays, & they officially have THEE BEST burger in town. Perfectly seasoned & perfectly cooked (between med rare & medium), get it with the works: lettuce, tomato, pickled onions--& I don't like onions but these are GREAT! The aoli is nice--just would like more. All served on a perfectly toasted brioche bun. I like fries but many dig the tater tots. Suit yourself. Improvements? Hard to say. Maybe offer malt vinegar for the chips aka fries & pepper jack & sharp cheddar instead of regular jack or mild cheddar. But--that's minor. Simply thee best burger in San Francisco.

So, I really actually like this venue. The food is delicious and they have an interesting selection of beers on tap (including an alcoholic kombucha). We saw Black Sabbitch, and some jerk in the audience yelled at the opening band. Awkward! There is also a lovely venue cat who chills up in a window and stares down at everyone. All the staff members are SO friendly and I find that can be rare at a venue. Anyway, this place loses a solid two stars for the lack of air conditioning in the bar section. Even though it's a normal San Francisco night of about 60°, it FEELS 85° in here. I don't want to be suffering as I'm trying to enjoy a set. I've heard from others this has been the case for a long time. Let's get that fixed because otherwise this is an awesome place to hang out!

Don't really understand the reviews. Had the carne asada tater tots and there was barely any meat. What meat there was was cold. The tots themselves were fried and good, but also cold.

One of my fav lunch spots! $9 for carne asada tater tots, and it's only $3 more to get a beer with that meal! Tater tots are perfectly crispy, with a healthy portion of cilantro-y guac on the top. Happy hour is fun here too. They can accommodate larger groups with more advanced notice. We like sitting in the covered back patio area, getting pitchers of beer and rounds of tots :)

Parkside is how I imagine Zeitgeist was before it hit the Lonely Planet lists. Parkside a divy cash-only bar that often has live music. The beer selection is generally interesting - about 15 options with something for everything from hazys to hard kombucha. Pitchers are around $21. Walk out back to the huge outdoor patio. Food is really good - best items: 1: Carne Asada tots, 2: Vegan Beet Reuben, 3: Regular Reuben. Most items are around $10.

If I could give 0 stars I would, but unfortunately 1 is the lowest. The manager has a stick so far up his ass you can see it when he opens his mouth. Someone needs to kick that fatass off his high horse, he harassed the group of people I was with OUTSIDE the bar telling us he wouldn't allow us in because of activities we were partaking in outside the facility, away from people inside of a privately owned car. Immediately, he already had prejudiced thoughts about us and made that very clear by his actions. Once inside, he targeted my friends and eagle eyed us until one of us made a mistake, instead of a warning it was an immediate kick out. When we politely tried to reason with him, he ignored us. So we asked for our money back for the show tickets we purchased ($20) because we were barely in there for 30 minutes, he said verbatim , " I am not fucking doing this with you guys" and stormed away while we were trying to talk to him. Extremely unprofessional, do NOT go there unless you want a prissy man to treat you like 15 year old rather than an adult.

I came here last night for a private Planned Parenthood benefit (my body, my choice, jags) that my friend invited me to like a month earlier and in that time I did absolutely no research into what type of place Thee Parkside was or any details about the event. My friend had sent me several links and emails regarding the ticketed event that I, of course, completely ignored and did not even try to skim over. On the day of, I asked my friend if I could wear yoga pants and what was technically only half a shirt to the event and her response, in a nutshell, 'your body, your choice'. So between my friends being the coolest and Planned Parenthood providing all the incredible services they do, the odds of me having a really fucking rad time were in Thee Parkside's favor. TL;DR I had a really fucking rad time We showed up, we partook in what I thought was the perfect number of (cash only FYI) $5 Palomas until I woke up the next morning and was like, oh god, there's a 50/50 chance I'm gonna barf up my antidepressant as soon as I take it. But guess what? Held that fucker down and went on to live a fairly productive day that only involved 2 very mild food-related depression naps. So my experience was technically a special event but essentially it was just Thee Parkside being regular but you had to buy a ticket where the fee went to Planned Parenthood, they had some local vendors selling rad hair supplies, bad ass jewelry (added a rad black and gold ring to my current stacks), vintage vendors (big ups to Mercy Vintage for the white mesh shirt I picked up that I 100% only plan on wearing an offset colored bra underneath - again, my body, my choice), and a station with raffle tickets for some cool salon giveaways where the money raised went entirely to PP. The stage was used for fun beauty demos and even though it was p much impossible to hear anything that was said, the crowd was rad, and the old timey photo booth (that does take card) made my friend and I look like sexy heathens (except for the first photo bc there was no warning that the flash was about to go off and I'm 100% talking and mouth-breathing in it). The front bar was packed for most of the night but they had a second more limited bar set up outside and the bartender guys was soooo cool and nice and def sauced up our palomas maybe more than I needed... as it turned out the next morning. There's picnic benches on the back covered patio area and they have a cash only kitchen that was actually super vegetarian friendly. My friend and I split a tofu banh mi and a basket of cajun tots since they were out of... well, out of a lot of shit that we wanted (fries, melty cheese, avocado) but what we did get was either fucking phenomenal or pretty good and we were just the right amount sauced to overly appreciate it. I'm not often in this area but there's a nice park across the street and p good sushi place up the block that my friend and I dig so Thee Parkside is gonna go down as a spot that's officially in the rotation when we have Potrero Hill adventures. Oh and they played hella Lou Reed which I have a real thing for so that was a real icing on the cake type of scenario.

This is a nice spot to sit down and chill. Came here with my friends and had a a drink while we did some work. The staff here is really nice and welcoming. We ended up ordering carne asada tots while we sat outside. I would recommend this place if you're trying to do some work around noon or early afternoon because it's really quiet in the back patio.

It's dark, loud, and a little grungy. Which is exactly what you should expect when entering a small local dive bar with live music and tater tots on the menu. They often have beer/shot specials, which are usually fun. The staff has been pleasant every time I've eaten there. The outdoor patio is almost-enclosed, which takes the bite out of cold summer nights. Thee Parkside, like most SF bars nowadays, has chosen to become obnoxious about IDs - I'm 44, bouncer, you can glance at my ID and let me in.... no need to examine it like it's rare art. But, as I said, that doesn't even merit taking a star.... it's become commonplace (but don't show up w/o ID and expect to get in, even if you're 60)

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Service here was the slowest I've ever experienced and the food was absolutely not worth the wait. My coworkers and I decided to try out this place for lunch since it's only a block away. We ordered our food at 12:30 and I didn't get my order until 1:30. (I am currently writing this review as half my table (4/7 people) have not received their orders). I ordered the grilled chicken panini and it was possibly the worst meal of my life. First, the sandwich is really small compared to everything else on the menu for the same price. The ciabatta bread it came in was so hard it cut the top of my mouth. There were 2 measly strips of chicken (maybe, and I had to look really hard for it). The whole thing was disgusting and tasted like cardboard. The tater tots were passable, thank goodness. At this point (1:40) my coworkers still haven't received their orders (and they just ordered tater tots! They shouldn't take an hour to make!) This place is absolutely horrible. Don't ever come for lunch!

I had a fantastic time at Twang Sunday today!!! The Unfortunate Bastard and Greg Antista and the Lonely Streets..awesome! More "busker punk" to go with ur tots!

The tall lanky security guard with the pubic hair beard got into a fist-fight with a member of the Green Day camp, refusing to let him in to play HIS show. He didn't think he was part of the Cover-Ups...the headlining act. Half the audience witnessed this and were yelling at him to let the guy in. Real professional! It was worth it for me to get kicked out of the show halfway through, for calling him a douchebag to his face. I just walked around and got back in through the back door anyway. Oops. The heavyset Hispanic "bouncer" also kept people away from the front of the stage, so that his girlfriend could have a good spot to take videos all night. Ever consider maybe wearing a shirt or hat that says you're a bouncer, so that we can react to your attitude properly? If you're going to make a band-only area, then rope it off. Don't just secure the area with your body, and pushing people away without telling them why, while wearing no shirt or hat to designate yourself as an employee of the venue. You're just asking for trouble, and trouble is what you got. On the flippity flip, it was an amazing show, totally kind bar staff, and the crowd was into it and well-behaved.

Was here for Monster Magnet 10/12/18. HOLY OVERSOLD VENUE!!! Fire Marshall would have had a fit if he'd stuck his head in the door. easily 250 people in a place that would have been packed with 150 people in it. cheap booze, solid bartenders and VIBES galore though. had a good time but more than one (shared) bathroom would have been nice when everyone is on the beers! one of the better dive bars i've been to in a while.

The staff here is the best! Came with my mother to see my brothers band, Berthold City perform. We were standing in the back but left the room when it became a mosh pit. The woman Melia who had been at the door asked us if we wanted to watch the show from beyond the bar and she provided us with earplugs and everything! I have learned not to depend on the kindness of strangers and this gesture made me delighted. This is a great bar to listen to live music, drink some brews and eat some of the best tator tots in town!! Come for the music, return for the hospitality!!!

I went here before going to a Giants game for a few beers and some food so that I didn't have to eat at AT&T park for an arm and a leg. Despite it being a bit chilly outside we did in fact sit in the outdoor patio which was covered so it make the experience extremely comfortable. We arrived around 6pm so it was still happy hour so our beers were $5. We also ordered the chicken banh mi and the carne asada tots...both were flavorful and fresh! However i will say that my friend did receive a kind of sketchy avocado but avocado is avocado so you eat around it (it's too precious to waste!) I would definitely love to come here again! Prices are reasonable, the staff was friendly, the food was delicious, and the outdoor patio was clutch! Highly recommend!

Annoying. Very paranoid about checking IDS. Everyone in our party was clearly over 21 but we still had to confirm IDs several times. Food is mediocre. Drinks are below average. Do not recommend.
