Theo's Cozy Corner Restaurant

This small place is an absolute delight. Five tables and seven stools, it isn't big but delivers a big meal. The morning we were there we had to wait about 10 minutes before the four stools at the counter opened up and this was indeed a breakfast and a show. The griddle and main area for the staff is right there and we were able to watch a groddle-master at work. A constantly turning-overmpile of flattop cooked potatoes, along with a steady stream of eggs and other hot items being cooked up and wafting the delicious smells into the air. Our meals were big, but able to finish them, thought the amount of potatoes on the plate was quite a bit. Two eggs over hard, wheat toast, potatoes and a mug of black coffee is the all-American breakfast and it was done up right. Coffee was never cold and never more than half-full, the waitress was really on top of things and a steady stream of locals either picking up breakfast or coming in for the tables. The wife said her OJ was really good and everyone joyed their meals Heads-up that this place is cash only.

An absolute must when in Boston. Located in a good and convenient spot. The food is amazing - the taste is great and the portions are large as well. The atmosphere is great; you are treated like family. Was not too crowded when we went during breakfast, but I recall there being a little bit of a wait - so worth it though. As a NJian, I think this place may beat any Jersey Diner

We had an AMAZING experience! Everyone welcomed us and our kids in like family. They made room for our stroller to get inside, made special Mickey and Minnie pancakes for our kids, entertained our kids, and talked with us. Food was excellent!! Will definitely be coming back next time we’re in the city!

Theo’s Cozy Corner really lives up to its name! I tried the moqueca (Brazilian seafood stew) and it was absolutely bursting with flavor—rich, savory, and perfectly seasoned. The service was warm and attentive, making the whole experience even better. Just a heads-up: it’s cash only, so be sure to bring some bills. Definitely worth a visit if you’re looking for authentic, flavorful food in a welcoming spot!

I saw the high praise on yelp and TA and thought we’d give it a try, but as we were walking past all the Italian places in little Italy I started wondering if we’d made a mistake…surely we should eat at one of them? Then we saw how tiny it was and almost turned right around. But there was one table open right by the door, and I am SO glad we made the effort to squeeze inside! Everyone was so kind and accommodating, even though with a 2yo we weren’t the easiest guests. Theo came over and said hi to our little one several times and then surprised her with a Mickey pancake all decorated. She was so excited! It was so nice to have such a chill local place to be treated like family and it was worth the walk and the close quarters…all part of the charm. Also, the food was amazing. I’d sworn off keeping leftovers this trip just because of convenience, but you better believe I took home the several slices of French toast I didn’t finish. It was delicious and beautiful! The whole family felt the same about their meals.

This is definitely a very welcoming place. If i lived in Boston, I'd be a regular there. It seems like a place that gets pretty busy and is absolutely worth the wait. I had steak, eggs and home fries which were very good. The staff seems to know a vast majority of their customers, which is really nice to see, and even as an out of towner, I'd love to come back if I am in Boston again. Had breakfast at Theos on Saturday . Despite the small space wait time was brief. The atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. My wife and I each had omelets and both were great! We really liked the vibe of the place. Will be back next time we're in town.

Found this little gem in the little Italy section. Doesn’t look like much from the outside, but the food coming from the inside is outstanding. Theo cooking on the grill makes magic. Great selections on the menu for breakfast. Prepared to order hot and fresh. Generous portions at a great price. Well, it is very small and cramped inside. It is also extremely welcoming and like home. Bring cash as they do not take credit cards and come early because the line starts quick. Highly recommend. I had to have special two eggs, bacon, potatoes,, and toast with coffee. Coffee was great and refills a plenty. My total bill was just over $15, which is extremely reasonable for Boston!

Now this is a special place and I am so happy to have found it. Cozy corner indeed and it was awesome. First time here and won't be the last, I'll make my trip into Boston for here! The service and owners are outstanding. They love what they do and you see it in their passion. So so so kind and helpful! I have celiac so I need to eat gluten free and the owner gave me a few great options (and they were great!) My mom had the chocolate French toast, super sweet and extremely chocolatey but she loved it! I had the basic breakfast with eggs, ham and potatoes. The portion sizes here are massive and delicious! Made to order and made with love. Can't wait to come back!

First off, for the tiny space they have to work with, they have mastered how to be the most efficient as possible, down to the line outside being provided menus! I had an Italian omelette with hot Italian sausage, provolone cheese and lots of peppers and onions! It was delicious! Unfortunately, after that there was nothing special...pancakes were average and NO REAL MAPLE SYRUP...a big mistake for any breakfast place! Home fries were plane and not cooked enough for my liking. The older woman there was a doll but the younger tall lady had 0 personality, don't think I saw her smile once. Overall, experience was average

Came in on a Monday morning around 11 o'clock. It was fairly busy. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and our order was taken right away. The server we had was very nice ! She was very polite. Our food came out very quickly and it was delicious! We ordered the Picanha Steak Plate & Eggs Benedict. The steak plate was great! And the eggs Benedict, in my opinion, the hollandaise sauce was a bit runny, but still a great plate! If we are ever in the state again, we will definitely be back! SIDE NOTE : If you plan on eating here be aware that this restaurant is CASH ONLY!

The service was amazing, everyone is checking in to make sure you're taken care of. They make it a point to talk to everyone walking in. It appeared to be run entirely by family (I could be wrong with that) and it felt very authentic and local. My husband and I originally went in solely because his name is also Theo, but we're so grateful we did! The Italian Cold Cut was stuffed full and delicious. Cute spot in the North End with a few tables inside. Based on what I've seen online, they appear to have a great breakfast selection.

If you want an unpretentious, delicious breakfast or brunch in Boston, Theo's Cozy Corner is exactly where you should be: friendly, lively, and run by owners who chat with every customer like they've known them forever. Even though the space is tight, everything moves smoothly--they've truly mastered the balance of efficiency and genuine friendliness. I ordered the Eggs Benedict, and they were fantastic--perfectly cooked and the kind of meal you want to slow down and enjoy. I was in town while my wife was at a work conference, and I kept wishing she could've been there too. Watching the omelettes being cooked right behind the counter made it very hard not to change my order on the spot. I only wish I had another day in town to come back and try one of those--they looked incredible.

Firstly the service is outstanding. It felt like being in someone's home in the best way possible. I had the hot sausage and provolone omelet with some of their house made hot sauce and it was divine. Mind you, i'm not a big breakfast person to begin with so that's saying a lot.

I visited Theo's based on the positive Yelp reviews, and I'm glad I did! Theo's is a small spot with a cozy, homely atmosphere. Just a heads-up, they only accept cash, which I didn't realize at first (but there's a small sign on a torn piece of paper inside, which I missed until I noticed everyone paying with cash). Thankfully, they were kind enough to let me go to the nearby ATM to withdraw money. I sat at the high-top area and ordered an omelet with white toast and hot chocolate. The hot chocolate came in a glass that I absolutely loved, and the omelet was good, though it could have used a little more salt and pepper. The server was friendly, and the owners (I think?) gave off a warm and welcoming vibe. Although it was a bit of a surprise with the cash-only policy, I would definitely return if I'm ever back in Boston to try out their lunch options!

The food here is amazing. Every single bite of pancakes had chocolate chips and bananas. The bacon was crispy. The French toast was so good. And the steak and eggs were a hit too. The servers and staff were super friendly and helpful. We went with their suggestions and loved it so much we came back the next day for round 2. It's a cozy place as the name says but enough space for small and medium sized groups.

Went here for breakfast and ordered the Super Special. Very small place and only accepts cash. Fast, friendly service and amazing coffee. (I'm a coffee snob). If you are in the North End in Boston, you won't be disappointed for a great breakfast at Theo's.

Found this little neighborhood gem of a cozy cafe located in little Italy that was open on Thanksgiving day until 2pm. Very nice genuine hospitality and a nice selection of sandwiches, breakfast and brunch items. Very friendly family and staff running it. Not too big but cozy! A neighborhood staple cafe with their own homemade hot spicy mustard that you can purchase a bottle of to take home!

Nice out of the way place. Breakfast all day - great cheese omelette and a turkey club! Located about 5 min from the Revere House and right near the Old North Church/Revere Statue. Super friendly staff! Our Theo picked the restaurant for lunch - we got to meet Theo himself!

Sausage was remarkable. Coffee was cheap and good. French toast was out of this world. Pancakes were tasty. The waitresses and cook were so sweet. Very tight place but we could call it cozy.

Here on vacation from Los Angeles and my wife and I were craving eggs and sausage and pancakes. Found this gem on Yelp and this place is so freaking delicious!! The bacon was perfect!! Super crispy and full of flavor. The eggs and home potatoes were full of flavor and the pancakes were out of this world. We will come back tomorrow that's how good this place is.

Very cute little diner inside! Cozy as advertised in the name :) And service was very kind and good came out quickly Portion sizes were big! Got the steak and eggs breakfast plate. Eggs were nicely cooked, lots of nice fresh fruit, toast was good crisp! Hot sauce was fun to try. The steak was a bit tough and hard chewy but flavor still pretty decent

Theo's is a small restaurant on a quaint side street. It is small and seems like a local hangout. The owner is from Brazil and seems to take a hands on approach. I got a corned beef hash breakfast with eggs over easy and my wife got only an English muffin. Both tasted fine. It's worth a visit! Cash only.

I loved this place. I had some friends visiting and we needed something cheap in the North End for breakfast. I got the breakfast special which was such a perfect amount of food. The eggs were great, the toast was well buttered, and the home fries were absolutely perfect! Oh and it came with a coffee included in the meal too. and the best part was it was only 12 dollars! One of my friends got the egg BLT which looked great as well and she loved it. The space was a bit small so i imagine it would get busy on Fridays and the weekends, maybe even boasting a bit of a wait, but i think it's well worth it. People have complained that they didn't know it was cash only, but there is a pretty prominent sign on the door i noticed as we walked up and we stopped at an atm before we went in. The staff was so incredibly polite and friendly, our waitress was very helpful with suggesting what to get and made the process of ordering a customizable meal super easy! Another staff member came by and made sure we were enjoying our meal and made some conversation. I'm so glad we tried this place out. The food is very good especially from the price point and the staff are interacted with were all very kind.

The heavenly scent of breakfast brought us in! The food was really good, but there weren't many options. We ordered pancakes and scrambled eggs. Everything is prepared for you to season to your liking, with top quality general accouterments provided. The owners were very nice and friendly, we felt welcomed to be there and were not rushed out even though there is limited seating. The atmosphere feels very homey like you belong, even if you're just visiting.

Theo's is a great place! Perfect for a good hungover breakfast and honestly always a very friendly staff. It's a little small so we usually get it to go! I've had a number of things on their menu including eggs Benedict, French toast, hash, pancakes, and a few others and every single one of them is made with that special diner-style love that you'd find at any good mom and pops diner. Overall - While living around the corner from it, I ate here a lot on the weekends and always enjoyed it!

Sometimes there is a wait and you might think it might not be worth it - just wait it out. Food is definitely worth the sometimes ~30 minute wait. Waking up slightly late on a weekend after a night of drinking and having a plate of eggs, sausage, home fries, toast and pancake in front of you is a very satisfying feeling. Pair that up with some diner coffee (don't take this the wrong way, I love diner coffee) and you feel like your world is complete. They also have this special in-house made hot sauce which can be a little hot at times, but it'll definitely provides a nice kick that helps you finish off that plate of food. Slightly crammed in there at times, but I think it just adds to the charm of this place. Can go wrong with a no frills diner that serve some awesome breakfast food! Have not tried their Brazilian items so will have to try them the next time I am there!

Enjoyed our breakfast here on a snowy/icy Wednesday morning. They are indeed ***cash only*** as the sign on the window says, so come prepared for that :) Food was solid, I got the breakfast special ($13.95 with a meat) and my friend got the corn beef hash ($17.95). Subtracting a star because our server forgot to bring our coffee until the end of our meal and double charged for my coffee (only $2.25 but it was supposed to be included in the breakfast special per their menu) and always feel awk asking for clarification haha but he ultimately removed the coffee charge from one of our orders. Coffee is served in those classic thick diner mugs which was a plus. Otherwise a cute spot to grab a solid breakfast in the North End. It wasn't too busy today, but I can imagine it could be harder to find a seat there on the weekends!

THE cutest corner breakfast place. It's tight seating but such a fun experience. Theo and Regina were so nice and took great care of us. If you like coffee, this place has the best coffee I have ever had. The pancakes are amazing. We had our baby in carseat/stroller and they were accommodating with seating. Super friendly and definitely recommend every time. Will be coming back when I visit again. It is cash only, come prepared(we didn't, but it was ok).

Omgosh! What a fun find. We were tired and hungry early in the am and stumbled upon this tiny family run breakfast spot. The portions were huge and delicious. The staff was sooo friendly and hard working. The place was packed from the time we arrived and well after we left. I hope to visit again!

We were looking for a place where the locals eat - and found it at Theos! It's not fancy - tiny inside - but food, service, and atmosphere were amazing! I had eggs with pancakes and sausage, wife had eggs with bacon and potatoes- both were very good. Coffee was hot and plentiful! If we lived in Boston, we'd be regulars here!

This is what an authentic small Italian breakfast location in Boston's north end should be! The restaurant is true to its name: a cozy corner, seating about twenty people. The service was great, and the breakfast (eggs, bacon, toast) was perfect. It is hard to mess up this type of food, but the uniqueness of the location and family-owned business makes it something very special. Please enjoy!

BOM DÍA! Theo's is an amazing experience. My sons went right when they opened and there was no line; the rest of my family and I went later on around 10am and there was a line out the door. Regardless of the long line, the waitstaff was attentive and friendly to each of us and it is first come, first serve, rules. The restaurant ambiance is great - everyone was smiling because the food is so delicious! The prices are very fair, especially for a major city like Boston. They do have a restroom which is in the basement through the kitchen. I didn't mind it at all. Must try - hot chocolate - they steam it and fill it with a whipped cream float on top. We also had these items - THE BIG BOY - 3 eggs cooked to your liking with or without cheese, 3 sausages, 3 slices of bacon, and 3 pancakes. I chose scrambled with cheddar - it was all perfectly cooked. I consider myself an expert at cooking pancakes and these were equal or better than to what I am accustomed. CHOCOLATE CHIP PANCAKES with strawberries - amazing - kids went bonkers over it. The pancakes are thick and giant - I didn't see anyone finishing the pancakes because they are so huge. Syrup was on each table and was standard. CHICKEN QUESADILLA - grilled chicken, mushrooms, peppers, onions, and cheddar cheese - it was perfectly done! I highly recommend Theo's and they speak English and Brazilian Portuguese.

Maybe I'm just picky... didn't realize this place was cash only but should've been more prepared since a lot of places in the north end are. Had $33 bucks on me and my friend had $0, so we had to make the most of it for breakfast. My friend got a plain cheese omelet that we lovingly refer to now as "that sheet of paper". I think I got the hot Italian sausage and provolone omelet, and with the peppers and onions, it really reminded me of a combo pizza flavor in an egg, which was yummy. A good deal for something like $14, it came with coffee and home fries. It's a good price for some average food, and I love how it felt very local when we walked in early on a Friday morning. It felt like a place regulars come to grab a cup of Joe and a quick breakfast while catching up with some neighbors. A cozy corner indeed, but I just can't get over the sad looking cheese omelet. Oh and $33 was perfectly enough to cover the bill + tips.

Line out the door mainly due to there only being 30 seats inside. Probably looking at 300 square feet, including kitchen. Inside, I'm not exaggerating when I say it was pushing 95° in our little preheated oven of a dining room. There is a 90% chance your food will have the chef's sweat in it, so fair warning. Helps build character, so won't hurt. My personal biggest complaint was my omelette -- no bueno. Mushrooms were a bad choice for my in-omelette items, as these were canned pre-sliced mushrooms. Cheddar cheese would've made the omelette much better than the (I think provolone?) cheese they used, but that's just me. However, country potatoes were great, and my moms strawberry waffles were melt-in-your-mouth. Theo's is an experience, to say the least. Good spot to go to just to say you've gone to.

It's a no frills North End diner that outperforms because they are very focused on what they do. Small capacity. Friendly service with large portions and well prepared food. Mostly breakfast/brunch based on what I saw. Coffee was surprisingly good. It's cash-only so plan accordingly. I did not try the Brazilian style breakfasts but the menu is pretty broad for a small place so it's a place you can return to. Their hot sauce is for real hot if you like that on your eggs. Corned beef hash was crispy without me having to order it that way (kudos!) and eggs were done exactly as I wanted.

I had really high expectations for this place, but unfortunately it fell short for me. I enjoyed the coffee and the eggs, but that was about it. I ordered the French toast as well and was SO excited for it. To the eye, it looks realllllyyy good. To the taste buds...not so much. I was very disappointed. No flavor at all in the toast itself. I had to drown it in syrup in order to taste anything. It's like the batter the bread was dipped in had nothing to it at all. After seeing the reviews for this place, I was really excited to try it, but after my experience, I'm very hesitant to go back.

Tip: CASH ONLY! Make sure you bring cash. Seriously is a comfy corner for breakfast. They are a Brazilian hole in the wall with the sweetest staff ever! We ordered the super special which is pancakes, eggs, ham,bacon or sausage, toast & coffee. And also ordered a side of home fries. Eggs are over medium and for the mean chose sausage & whole wheat toast and pancakes were blueberry pancakes. Honestly it is a lot of food at first it doesn't look like a lot but when you get started it becomes a lot which is a good thing. The pancakes are fluffy and the blueberries were nice and sweet. Home fries were crispy and sausage too! They make a homemade hot sauce which is a flavorful and a nice hint of spice too. Such a beautiful little spot. Would recommend to visit!

This is the best breakfast that I've had in a while. Regina was our server and she was a joy. There were smiles and hellos upon arrival. It's a small spot so we are close. The ingredients were fresh. I didn't leave weighted down or uncomfortable. The food was amazing. It was seasoned. Perfect portions. Everyone finished their plates. The cappuccino was heavenly. Not only was it beautiful in presentation with whipped cream, but it was the best one that I've had in years.

When they say Cozy they really mean it. There would always be a wait, but the cozy atmosphere was worth the wait. The menu has a little bit of everything g for everyone. I can't resist a corn beef hash w eggs. Crispy! Perfect eggs. The highlight of the meal though was their house made hot sauce...Brazilian hot sauce. So tasty.

The food was amazing here we went for breakfast and I'll forever dream about the eggs Benedict. The best part of the restaurant are the people we came in after an all night flight my toddler refused to sleep on he was a mess and they all lovingly tried to cheer him up. I will come back every trip to Boston

From the moment we were greeted by "Renato" And our waitress... "Regina"...we knew we found the right place! My husband ordered the Italian sausage and pepper omelette which was AMAZING... so many flavors! and I ordered the egg sandwich on an English muffin with bacon! The best egg sandwich ever had!! (And I've had MANY!). Their housemade hot sauce was off the charts (VERY HOT)... we bought a bottle to take home!

My friends and I made plans to get lunch at a local place and I found Theo's through Yelp. As we walked up, we noticed a small line and the restaurant was full, which felt like a great sign for the quality of the restaurant. After waiting approximately 20 minutes, we were seated at the counter. Come prepared for a tight space, yet the quaintness feels perfect for a family owned and cozy restaurant. The staff are attentive and extremely kind. I ordered the Chocolate French Toast with a side of home fries and sausage, while my friends ordered the Steak and Eggs breakfast plate and Corned Beef and Hash breakfast plate. None of us has a thing to complain about! All three of us thoroughly enjoyed the food. We were all impressed with how flavorful and large the dishes were, given how reasonably priced they are. While we were there for brunch, we also noticed they had Italian dishes (perfectly fitting, given its location in the North End), as well as Portuguese dishes. There are a multitude of options for anyone! I posted about having brunch at Theo's on my Instagram story and had so many friends express interest in either going in the future or having gone in the past with overwhelming positive experiences. I'm excited to return again soon!
