A great Vietnamese restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. No frills, just great authentic food. Tried a little of everything and was glad we did.

Google
Bún Chả Hanoi was delicious!! Portion was big and the waitress was friendly and gave us an extra portion of noodles upon request :•) Also we tried to ask for salted coffee (cà phê muối) even though it wasn’t on the menu and she helped to make it for us :•)

Google
We had the bun bo hue and pho - both were tasty and authentically Vietnamese. The restaurant is quite small but the service was amazing and quick. Def will be back!

Google
spent a rainy day in la and had to start my day off w/this delicious vietnamese restaurant. i ordered & highly recommend the medium pho dac biet & the cha gio pork egg rolls. broth was extremely flavorful, love that they have all the spicy chili options at the table. egg rolls were nice & crunchy. plus all the fresh veggies on the side made this meal a 10/10💥 and topped it all off w/an iced coffee & don’t pass on the condensed milk. the service was top notch! staff was polite and attentive. they also provided great togo containers.

Google
Excellent experience at Thien Hoang, a longstanding family-run Viet restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. Expansive menu with plenty of excellent options, for meat eaters and vegetarians alike. I really appreciated how well-cooked the pork chop was! Attentive service. This place is cool with credit cards / splitting checks as well. Line can be long (small, cozy spot) but it’s worth the wait! Update: the large pho upgrade ($16 as opposed to $14) is absolutely worth it. Do it.

Google
We’ve heard great things about this place and being from Houston it is hard to satisfy our Vietnamese cravings. Thien huong did. We got bang xeo, bun bo hue, bun cuon, and cha gio (eggrolls). To drink we had iced viet coffee and a thai tea. Everything was fresh and delicious. The bun bo hue had great flavor, perfect tangy lemongrass broth. The banh xeo was crispy, LARGE, and served with pickled carrots and lettuce. The bun cuon was delicate and filled with crispy minced pork. Everything hit the spot. The service was prompt, attentive and friendly. It is in a strip mall so not the best atmosphere, we did have a homeless man come in, but the staff was on top of it making sure noone would be bothered while also offering him help. She did her best, offered him a drink and even gave him money. I think that really shows professionalism and humanity. We’ll be back to order the other half of the menu. Don’t skip this place.

Google
I love their Vietnamese soup pho dac biet and # 21 plate. The young female waitress and young Hispanic guy are very courteous and polite.

Yelp
One of my favorite Vietnamese spot . The food is so delicious . The coffee is incredible. The service is great ^^

Yelp
Small restaurant but well worth it. We went for lunch before a wedding on a Saturday. Waited maybe 15 mins at best. Staff was very helpful and attentive. As a table we got Bun Bo Hue, Bun Rieu, Com Tam Dac Biet and Banh Cuon. Knew the BBH and Bun Rieu was going to be good when they gave us a bottle of shrimp paste with our meal. The marinade in the Com Tam was solid. The Banh Cuon also came with a large portion. Wish it came with more Cha but it didn't deter from the meal at all.

Yelp
I've been here a few times just never remember the name I think this is a OG of chinatown, I'm sure its been here more than a few years The workers are great! most the time they are doing it with a skeleton crew, don't expect "amazing service" the foods great! Got the omlette with lettuce, bahn mi, and a dry noodle dish I wont even attempt to type out viet taste super authentic seatings fun too in the middle of the mall where all the action is feels very much like chinatown I love this type of Ambiance!! I want to say alot of the food here has gotten better or lately been perfected! this quad definitely has the most eclectic choice and not just asian cuisine.

Yelp
Located off Broadway in a plaza. Typically when there isn't any crazy events, parking around is $5 or street meter parking. The ambiance is mom and pop style, not much seating, but went today in a Saturday and surprisingly not as busy in general in chinatown. Didn't have much seating but lucky enough that there was good seating for 2. The food hear is phenomenal! We ordered a Large seafood egg noodle soup and Banh Xeo (pork, shrimp, sprouts). I have to say is the BEST Banh Xeo EVER. It's about 1 foot long (check photos for reference with placement of my friends hand for scale lol)...why hasn't anyone made a asmr mukbang for this? super CRISPY. The Seafood noodle soup is extremely flavorful. We didn't even want to add extra condiments to spoil the flavor. The Large can feed a family of 4 lol. My friend loved it so much that she nearly finished it. No more than $35 for entire meal. Must eat here if you're in Chinatown.

Yelp
I came here over the weekend and food was so good. I ordered the shrimp fried rice and tried some of my friend's banh mi. The shrimp fried rice was good but the banh mi was amazing. Wish I ordered it but I know I will definitely order it next time I go. The restaurant is pretty small and the lines get long. There was a line when I got there and a long line when I left. Parking can be a bit difficult because it's in a plaza and Chinatown is very busy. The food was so good and definitely will be back!!

Yelp
Food was average but the price was good, but I'm guessing it's appropriate for the area. I'm used to paying $50+ for two bowls of pho and drinks, but we spent that much with appetizers at this joint. Menu link: https://qrco.de/bccnqZ We sat outside and service was a bit on the slow side on Saturday at 12:30 pm. The servers rarely pop outside...noticed customers sitting outside going inside to pay when they got tired of waiting. Lines started to form around 1:30 pm...seemed like it was the weekend lunch rush around that time as the other stores started to have lines at that time. Highly recommend the fried pork egg rolls as they were very crispy and came hot! Banh xeo was huge and as other reviewers have mentioned, bigger than my hand! Honeydew boba and Thai tea boba were both good, perfectly sweet and with soft chewy bobas. We parked underground, they do not validate parking tickets. Ended up paying $8 for our less than hour time there, but it was worth it considering it was 87 degrees and so our car was cool inside.

Yelp
Hole in the wall spot w delish food, I'm so glad I found this place They serve authentic viet food w such affordable prices (banh mi for $7). Service is super friendly! Only thing is parking which is street/public parking bun thit nuong (I think this was like $12/$13) - the pork charcoal flavor is so delish, big filling portions and fresh flavors egg roll was crispy and so delicious as well Banh xeo (I think like $14) - my friend went to Vietnam over the summer and has been thinking about this dish, he was so excited when he saw it on the menu and it didn't disappoint it kinda reminded me of Korean pancakes with a crispy outside w filling like shrimp inside, so good wrapped in lettuce w the sauce! Yelp
Came by for a light lunch the other day and it was a world class experience. Parking is available on the street. Thien Huong is located inside a plaza within Chinatown and offers both indoor and patio dining. The Gen Z staff was courteous. Started off with the iced Vietnamese coffee and it was strong and flavorful. I loved the foam on top! The fried egg rolls using rice paper were authentic, just like in Vietnam. The egg rolls were filled with pork, taro, and vegetables and came with a bag of vegetables, hot sauce, and fish sauce. $14/head after tax for take out. 3% surcharge for credit cards and no apple pay accepted

Yelp
Wow such a delicious Vietnamese restaurant!! We found street parking ($5) but I believe there is a lot nearby which is $5 for all day. We ordered the -Vietnamese coffee (tasty and less ice so I appreciated that a lot) -Pho (so good and not a lot of MSG and clean broth) -Chicken banh mi (delicious and fresh) -Vermicelli noodles with carrots, cucumbers, and other delicious toppings! So filling and healthy! The lady is very nice and we enjoyed our meal immensely!

Yelp
Came here for the bánh cuon and it did not disappoint! Took food to-go, but 100% recommend this family style restaurant.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING!! We got the pork and pork meatball bah mi sandwich's and pork egg rolls. They flavor was perfect and it's definitely the best I've ever had. The server was so kind and the food was prepared fast. I can't wait to go back and try more items. The restaurant was really nice as well. I'm glad I found this place as it will now be added to my go to places from now on.

Yelp
Wanting to connect with my cultural roots, my partner and I decided to go to get Vietnamese food to satiate this spiritual craving of mine. Although Los Angeles is not known for its abundance of Vietnamese food, there are definitely gems scattered throughout the city (without having to travel to SGV/OC). I don't really subscribe to "hipster-washing" (I don't know how else to describe it!) of ethnic foods, so I wanted to visit a restaurant rooted in serving good food to locals. Atmosphere: 5/5 Simple interior, soft music with some cultural motifs. I felt at peace eating here. Service: 5/5 The people here were so kind, lovely, and inviting. Presentation and flavor: 5/5 There are a lot of vegetarian options here which I can appreciate. Everything was delicious and flavorful, not too salty. My recommendations: -Veggie egg rolls -Pho xao chay (stir fried dried pho w/ veggie) Parking: 1/5 Chinatown is parking poor, but a good thing if you live in the city is that you can utilize multiple transit routes to get here! From Ktown we take the D line to the A line which gets us here in about 30 minutes! Not bad! Pricing: 4/5 We paid about $14-15 an entree which is not bad at all! Overall 5/5 for touching a part of me that longs to visit my home Motherland. Maybe someday!

Yelp
My favorite Pho spot in LA. The food taste great, fairly priced, and generous portions. The only downside side is the super long line. I'd encourage you to call in advance or go super early (earlier than 11:30am) if you want to avoid the wait.
google avatar

Yelp
I normally don't eat pho/buon for breakfast. Specially when it's 100 degrees in Chinatown. Broth was perfectly seasoned. You can tell it's authentic Vietnamese. Fried egg strips were just the way I like it. It's cooked in high temperature so the eggs are beaten and cooked in high heat to until it's brown and crispy. This place is a jewel in the Ten Ren Plaza on Broadway. Place is very clean, air conditioned. The service is phenomenal, very nice and polite. Price is good. Variety of Bahn Mi. Including Tofu for the vegetarian folks. This place is authentically. I ordered bbq chicken bahn mi and Vietnamese egg rolls, and bahn mi dac viet to go. I got here just in time. The place had a line by the time I finished. Highly recommended when you're in Chinatown.
google avatar

Sunny M.

Yelp
Worth the wait. I avoided the wait as I went before the lunch rush on a Saturday morning. Around 10:45am. Their broth is clean, light but flavorful. It was not overly sweet like some places. The eggrolls were the rice paper kind and not the wonton type. It was super crispy and right amt of chewy. Spring rolls were equally delicious. Found meter parking outside. Would definitely return.
google avatar

Yelp
Small shop in Chinatown, I went early in the morning during weekday so I was able to find street parking. I don't think there will be any designated parking spaces but plenty of public parking lots near by. I ordered combination pho and it was one of the best pho I had in the area. I personally would give this place a slight edge over pho 87 which is another spot that I really like in this area. I would definitely comeback whenever I'm near downtown LA or Chinatown craving pho.
google avatar

Yelp
A cute little hole in the wall that serves authentic and delicious Vietnamese food. My favorite dish was their Bún Chả Hanoi, which I've never had before. I'm glad this was the place to introduce me because they truly did not disappoint. Everything else, you can't go wrong. I spoke with the owner's daughter and it was great to hear a bit of their history. Also, it was nice to see her help out seating tables and managing wait times. I recommend dining in non peak hours because it does get busy and wait times are around 20-30 minutes. Nonetheless, the wait is worth it! I would definitely come back!
google avatar

Ji K.

Yelp
Incredible Vietnamese food. Brought me back to some of the flavors and dishes only available in the motherland! Totally worth the visit, recommend you get here before the lunch rush hour at 12:30
google avatar

Andrew K.

Yelp
This was surprisingly my first time here and I'm so sad bc this place was solid! There was a long line but it went by quick and was telling of how poppin' this place is! We had: - bbq pork Bahn mi (wow this is the most gourmet Bahn mi I've ever had and it was so good!! Also at $7 it's such a steal!!) - large bowl (wow it was huge and had a lot of meat!) - vermicelli (wow it's gigantic and can def feed 2)! The broth was a little sweet for me but overall bomb! I would come again :-). Just beware the parking doesn't do validation anymore so we had to pay $10
google avatar

M S.

Yelp
Solid. I had pho ga. The house made chili oil adds extra points. The broth tasted much flavorful than most of the pho places around here. It feels like there's an extra care for the broth. It had a hint of aromatic flavor to it but not in an overpowering way at all. Authenticity may throw some people off for this dish. They cut their chickens with bones in Asian butcher style. They don't care about how you feel about the chopped chicken bones in the soup, it becomes part of the flavor of the broth. They use thighs which is more flavorful part of the chicken. The meat was tender and nicely cooked. This place is worth checking out.
google avatar

Vannie S.

Yelp
I catered 50 eggrolls here and the service was quick and easy. The eggrolls were fresh, hot, and crispy. I asked for them to be split into two treys and the owners packaged it so that it wouldn't be crushed. The location is near howlin rays. The only thing if you're catering eggrolls they don't have parking so you may want to go with another person so they can wait by the side or help you to your car.
google avatar

Ellen K.

Yelp
A little small authentic pho shop. Lady is nice and friendly. - Pho 5/5 Pho is delicious. Broth is very flavorful. The large is HUGE. Enough to share with another person. - Spring Rolls 2/5 Fresh ingredients, I'm not a too big fan of spring rolls. The sauce also was very watery. - Egg Rolls 3/5 Rice paper wrapped egg rolls. It was OK. I prefer the egg wonton wrapping egg rolls. - BBQ Pork Bahn Mi 5/5 OMG. THE BREAD IS SO FLAKEY AND DELICIOUS. It's definitely really really good. The BBQ sauce is also very heavy... I'd do light sauce or something. Eat with onions!! [RECOMMEND] Parking is street parking in china town.
google avatar

Luke W.

Yelp
This place was great! The portions are big and the price was very fair The medium pho only came out to be $11.25, the bun rieu $11.25, and the spring rolls were $9 The eggrolls did not have a strong flavor, but pairing it with the sauce made it very good. The pho and the bun rieu were both flavorful! Overall the place was good. This place takes card and cash, but there is a 3% fee for card.

Yelp
Visited here for lunch with a colleague. The restaurant is pretty small with limited indoor seating. Very mom and pop vibes. There isn't really a place to check in so you kind of have to make eye contact with an employee to get their attention. Luckily for us, there was a short wait. You can look at the menu via a QR code stuck on the window outside or once seated, they'll have the physical menus too. My colleague and I both got the pho, large size. They gave complimentary cups of iced water. We got our food pretty quickly. The portion looked huge based on the size of the bowl but it was decent. The broth was on point, not too salty or oily. They were generous with the meat but the noodles was alright. I would say for $13.95, this is a reasonable portion of food. Sides of sirracha and Hoisin sauce were available plus bean sprouts, slices of lime, and culantro (the usual garnish for pho). Note that there is a 3% surcharge to use your credit card.
google avatar

Chance L.

Yelp
Wanted to get some hangover pho the next day after a wedding. Decided to stop here and check it out. I was worried there wouldn't be AC, but they had it on even with the doors open. The pho was absolutely delicious and on point. Some of the best broth I've had, chills were going down my spine as I was eating. Our waitress was fantastic as well, providing extra onions and tokens for the restroom. Will definitely be back in the near future. Only con is they don't validate parking, the entire plaza doesn't validate parking either (checked Howling Rays as well)
google avatar

Isabella H.

Yelp
I got the bo nuong and the dac biet banh mi. The bo nuong banh mi was very flavourful and the meat portion was very generous. I was skeptical at the higher price ($9 compared to $7 for most of their other banh mi's) but I think it is well priced as you get a lot of quality meat. The dac biet banh mi was delicious as well. Service is good and they take your order quickly. They are attentive. I ordered to go and the wait was a little longer than I expected for banh mi. There is indoor and outdoor seating. Parking can be tough but the food is always worth it in my opinion.
google avatar

Jasmine S.

Yelp
The service was efficient and the serving sizes are great for the price. I really enjoyed my banh mi. There was a half hour wait to be seated at 2:30 pm on a Sunday. No parking lot. It's a smaller restaurant with a homey vibe. Would definitely recommend.
google avatar

Henry H.

Yelp
Service was a miss. There was only one waitress for the entire place. Pho was slow to come out and tasted salty. To go order didn't include utensils. They charge 3% for credit card sales regardless of order total.
google avatar

Anh L.

Yelp
Don't know how i missed this spot. After covid this place is blooming, hours wait on the weekend. They open at 9am today on a Wednesday and they already got a few customers. Thats how you know its good when there are people waiting for it to open. This is your classic Vietnamese restaurant. Which is hard to find around this area of town. Great for take out and it's a small family owned business.
google avatar

Lejla I.

Yelp
Love pho here! Other food is delicious too but I specifically come for pho! You get a very good portion, a lot of food that's fresh, everything is clean and service is fast! Highly recommend!
google avatar

C. S.

Yelp
Always delicious! Hot soup. Get there early on weekends and ask for egg rolls! Family operated business really makes you feel at home.
google avatar

Pri N.

Yelp
Honestly, nothing bad to say. I was lucky to live in walking distance of this place and they always, ALWAYS meet the mark. There's also always a line on the weekends so keep that in mind. They're kind, accommodating, & quick. The food is always fresh, always flavorful and delicious. They have all the condiments ready for your use and it's always clean and unlimited. I've never even seen a wilted piece of lettuce in this place. Everything is perfect. I've tried so much of the menu and nothing has ever disappointed me. Highly recommend :)

Schennel R.

Yelp
The price is well, portions are great. Broth needs more flavor. I always order to go, but service is always fast and good
google avatar

Karen T.

Yelp
I was walking around Chinatown for lunch and found this little Vietnamese spot hidden inside the plaza. Lots of new hip restaurants around here like Howlin rays.. I decided to show this lil old mom and pop restaurant some love ! There's 5 tables and a good spot to stop for some pho or viet sandwiches ( they have both!) I ordered banh mi bbq pork $8 and added a plum soda $3.. so good!! I recommend!

Veronica K.

Yelp
Very very delicious soup for pho. I believe it's family owned, they were very polite and customer service was amazing. I've only togo'ed food, but know that they have outside seating areas to eat.
google avatar

Sanny C.

Yelp
When the foods came out, I didn't think I would enjoy it much. The shrimps spring rolls looked some what skinnier than other places. The seafood noodle was filled with fish balls. I never had a bowl of noodle with more than 5 fish balls unless I ordered fish ball noodle. Strangely, I enjoyed everything lol Firstly, they served egg noodle. The best noodle for any kind of noodle soup is egg noodle. It wasn't the super thin ones too. I hate those. The soup was flavorful. Love slurping on good soup. Spring rolls was strangely tasty as well. It looked so simple but it was decent. The good part was they didn't put bean sprouts. Like who the heck put bean sprouts in spring rolls...those who put it, I feel like they don't know what else to put in it or wanna make it look fatter. Service could be a bit better. I felt like the only person who cared was the young gal that speak English. It was busy but she tried to help as much as she can. Originally, we wanted 2 shrimps spring rolls and two shredded pork spring rolls. The gal was nice enough to go check if the boss will allow it. He straight out yelled no. I feel people like this don't look at the big picture. I know it is more work to make 2 different kinds. Also, I get it that not allowing to mix and match then people probably will just buy both. However, if I can eat only 3 or 4 then for sure I will not get both. The smarter way is to offer mix and match but for an extra charge of $1 or $2. I feel people will still be happy about it and pay for it. Oh well, not my business. Although food was good but I don't think I will return.
google avatar

Anthony K.

Yelp
This spot recently renovated and looks great, it's become my weekly go-to pho spot. The waitress is super attentive with an amazing memory and always remembers how we customized our orders from previous visits. They are the only place that has Pho Gan. There's limited tables so there is usually a line.
google avatar

Cecile W.

Yelp
This place is tucked away in a non-AC interior plaza with just a few tables inside, and 3 tables holding four seats each. You put your name down on a clipboard and just stare at the patrons hoping they don't linger after they finish eating. Table clean-up is slow so the turnover takes alittle while. When you're pressed for time, this might not be the place for you since you never know how crowded it will be. We ordered banh cuon and mi xau gon, plus a com tam with beef lemongrass. The portions were big and flavorful the presentation was nice for a hole in the wall. You pay at the counter. Hard parking nearby. We found a meter for $6 for 1 hour and 15 min...so factor that in when you decide where to go.
google avatar

Pauline A.

Yelp
The best Banh xeo in Chinatown! Service is always awesome and food comes out perfect!
google avatar

Chau N.

Yelp
I love the Pho here as someone I grew up in Hanoi, Vietnam :) it's decent i'd give it high 4/5. Banh ni is okay but not bad at all. Love the atmosphere and AMAZING service. Super busy but fast to get seated. 2nd time eating here already
google avatar

Patrick O.

Yelp
The woman that served us was super nice. There were several other food establishments in the area but the bulk of the crowd was waiting for a table here. You could tell this was where the locals ate. We all had the house Special Pho and I will definitely be going back to try the other flavors. The serving was large with lots of meat. It was very tasty and perfectly spiced
google avatar

Jd L.

Yelp
Pho was very tasty, always hot. The lady is nixe too My go to place for hangover breakfast
google avatar

Marc H.

Yelp
Delicious Banh Mi sandwiches and Vietnamese coffee too. It's like little cafe that is always busy at lunchtime. I've come here many times (mostly for to-go, since I usually don't have time to wait for a table) Good value and fast service!
google avatar

Cassandra D.

Yelp
Love the pho here!! Their broth is amazing, never disappoints and they're always consistent! Their service is great too. Get here early cause sometimes there's a line and they don't have that many tables.
google avatar

Chris R.

Yelp
I was in the area for the Lunar New Year celebrations and saw this little hole in the wall Vietnamese place. Figured I'll give it a shot and man am I glad I did. Their Banh Mi (Vietnamese sandwich) is ridiculously delicious and the service is excellent as well. Definitely going back whenever I'm in the area. Highly recommend!
google avatar

El B.

Yelp
Still the best tofu banh mi I have ever had! This is the first one I had when I moved to LA over 20 years ago and, trying it today, it is still so delicious! The tofu has a grilled flavor with a slight sweetness. The baguette is fresh and chewy. We also had the spring rolls and substituted for tofu. Very tasty! My husband had the #2 Pho with rare steak and really enjoyed it. The large was a good sized portion. The staff is friendly and attentive. It gets busy so you might be waiting for a little while. Seating inside and out. Parking it on the street.

Yelp
This is my second review because they no longer provide free parking validation. I'm not sure why but maybe with inflation, they just decided not to validate parking. But the good news is their quality of food and the prices on the menu has stayed the same! So paying $2-3 for parking is not too bad after all. If you go there during the non-rush hour, there should be plenty of street parking available. Thank you for keeping the business open and serving the best pho in town!

Yelp
This might be my new favorite place to get pho. I got the house special (I don't remember the name) and it was so good. The large was huge. Perfect amount of noodles, broth and meat. Great flavor. A lot of places skimp out and you're left with either not enough of something but this was great portion sizes. I also got a banh mi and that was really good. Really affordable too.

Yelp
If you are looking for some authentic Vietnamese food this is your place. I have been coming here with my family for about 4 years and never disappointing. Food is always fresh and clean. Staff is like family super nice and always super attentive. By far the best in town. I usually get pho and it's always the best. I highly recommend this restaurant to you all.
