Third Coast Hot Dogs

Third Coast is by far my favorite spot in the Portland Metro. Best dogs on earth!! With a touch of Texas!! Amazing atmosphere, a huge variety of flavors, options for all dietary lifestyles and killer cocktails too. Sage is a one man operation and a great person. But it can get packed so be patient when it is, it's worth it. Support local! Eat weiners!!

Portland has a lot of hot dogs, but I feel pretty confident these are the best after trying every glizzy that crosses my path! It’s a one man show run by a chef who’s slinging the drinks and dogs. He goes out of his way to make sure most (if not all) toppings are vegan so he can accommodate a wide range of dietary needs, and has a GF option as well. It’s a super relaxed bar carved in to a motorcycle shop full of Texas pride. Follow him on Instagram to see the off menu specials, that’s the good stuff. And hot dog memes. These are the best hot dogs I've ever had. So far Ive had 4 different dogs and they are all amazing. I'm usually the type to get the same thing each time I go somewhere but you'd be doing yourself a disservice if you did that here. I've loved each one and Im looking forward to trying them all. Sage is brilliant and absolutely a master of his craft. Each dog is so thoughtfully put together as he takes into consideration not only the flavor profiles but the texture balance as well. One thing that really stands out is that they feel so "light".. these dogs come with a great amount of toppings! What I mean is that you don't finish one and feel like you're heavy, weighed down, and need to go home. I always leave feeling full but could easily go for a jog or something if I wanted to and feel good. Sage is such a great guy and you should definitely take time to say hello. He is passionate about what he does and you can tell that he puts a lot of love into everything. I can't wait to go back and enjoy great food, great atmosphere, and a great chef.

I've been stopping in this corner bar in the motorcycle shop occasionally for quite a while and I love all the changes I've seen over the last few years. The atmosphere has become more comfy (albeit very small, and very well lit), drink options have expanded (adult and non-alcoholic alike), and the hot dogs.... Let's talk about those; Being a vegetarian, I absolutely love the options. All toppings are vegan and sauces are hand made by Chef Sage, therefore the entire menu can be vegan! I had the vegan Hellpaso (and will definitely be going back for another) and my friend had a basic beef dog with ketchup. It's a bit spendy for a basic dog without the gourmet toppings but my friend said it was a great dog, nonetheless. This little spot has come a long way from the chilly, rowdy, beer-only spot it use to be; still a bit rowdy on occasion but the service, crowd, and dogs make for a good time.

The best hot dogs we’ve had! Cool spot inside of a motorcycle shop. The smokiness of the meat was incredible and the creative toppings made each bite delectable. We shared three dogs and can’t wait to go back to try the rest. And they had a nice selection of drinks and beer. Highly recommend!

This place is awesome, the hot dogs are the best i’ve ever had, super chill atmosphere, great music and cheap drinks! definitely will be back!! sage is killin it with his unique flavors!

At first I had my reservations because I initially was going for a chili dog which apparently they didn’t sell regularly. That said, you know when food is so good it leaves you karate chopping the air as you make guttural sounds ? That’s all I could do after eating the dog… Bomb!

To start off, I’m not a huge hot dog guy. However, and I say this with the utmost sincerity, these are the best hot dogs I’ve ever had and I now make a point to eat them when I get the chance. When that craving comes, I immediately go to Third Coast. Sage, the owner and chef, is extremely talented and a super nice dude. Not only that, the food is just delicious and the portion is perfect. $8 and you are full and completely satisfied with your meal. The best part (besides eating the food) is that the rest of the day is spent thinking about how good that just was.
