Third Culture Bakery Is Bringing Mochi Muffins to Colorado - Eater SF

"The Berkeley bakery known for its chewy mochi muffins, mochi donuts, and custard cakes featuring flavors like matcha and ube, will open its 2,300-square-foot second location in downtown Aurora. The new Denver area spot will mirror the original, with both a commercial kitchen and retail storefront selling pastries, matcha drinks, and coffee — but unlike the Berkeley location, the more spacious Colorado bakery will offer seating." - Janelle Bitker

If you want light fluffy cakey traditional donuts, this AIN'T it. BUT what you do get is a slightly chewy, moist, almost el dente donut that is classic asian texture/taste. They are very creative with the toppings and have really unique flavors. You can see the ovens and cooling racks as make 'em fresh almost hourly. And like any worthwhile donut shop, they serve varieties of drinks to pair with them donuts. It is also great that they have a real message/mission of love and kindness. Happy to say that their staff fully shows these principles. Go get you some!

Definitely on the pricey side but it’s mochi donut and it’s gluten-free ;) I personally like the donuts better than the muffins, they are chewy as mochi with an eggy twist that is interesting to taste. The flavors of the glaze are bold and not terribly sweet which is all I can ask for a perfect donut. Interior design is super cute too.

Gluten free donuts in Denver!! Mochi donuts are a bit different than a traditional baked donut, but oh so yummy. I couldn't choose when I bought a half dozen so I got one of most. The Mango with Cacao Nibs is incredible. The atmosphere is fun and welcoming. This is a safe place for EVERYONE! A note: the address is for the front of the building, but there's no street parking. There is a parking lot in the back. The public entrance is on Colfax, so you'll need to walk around front. 👍

Super delicious mochi donuts and muffin, every single one of their drinks is a must try! My personal favorite is the matcha lychee sparkler. You will be warmed by their friendly staff and owners when you go there, and most importantly you can still order them through Uber Eats, or simply by phone and pick them up in person! Please support an am amazing local bakery during this difficult time!

Everything here is so delicious. The drink and the pastry are a must have. I have been a fan of the mochi muffin since years ago in their bay area shop, also like the baked mochi muffins that there are always so many interesting flavors to choose from and so healthy. They carefully choose the ingredients, so I never feel uncomfortable even eating a lot of them. On a sunny day, I always get a matcha sparkling, so refreshing. If you don't know what to drink, you will never go wrong with any matcha latte.

I love my gluten, but for those that are gluten-free and are dying for that substitution, this is your place! Their donuts taste like a moist muffin and a Krispy Kreme had a kid. The people here are very friendly and the store is very clean (with social distancing enforced). Every donut starts at $3, but if your fancy pants, splurge for the interesting Passionfruit donut (not my favorite because of its tanginess). I stick with my boring Matcha Butter Cream mouthgasm. I go here on weekdays, where I don’t bump into you nerdy crowds. ;-)

We stopped by for the soft opening today, and we were not disappointed! The donuts had a phenomenal texture. My favorite was the ube coconut (purple), but everything was super delicious and 100% gluten free!! Cute, clean simple interior and friendly customer service!

I was super excited when I heard about this place, but was disappointed with what I got. First off they are so over priced. $3+ per doughnut or muffin. I can get a whole box of doughnuts at King Soopers for $5 a box. Then the doughnuts were really small. I would have had to eat 2 of them to equal 1 doughnut elsewhere. Also their drinks are really small for what you get. It made me feel like I could get more drink for my buck at Starbucks. It was interesting to try once, but I won't be going back. I understand that this is a small local business, but they need to adjust their prices or they are going to go out of business like so many others that have over priced their product.
