This Is It! Southern Kitchen & Bar-B-Q

I was in the mood for some Soul Food when I was in ATL. I kept hearing about this spot from some of my people and went to try it. It did not disappoint! The line was wrapped around the building and I understood why. The chicken was full of flavor, the Mac and cheese were good. I meant to get greens but the green beans were and the cornbread was the absolute best! I’m glad I gave this spot a chance and will go again the next time I am in ATL.

Staff was friendly and welcoming. The Mac and cheese and pork chop were good. The gravy was a lil too thick for me, but still flavorful. The chitterlings were good. I didn't care for the green beans and the wings were really dry to me. I would go here again. I didn't try the cornbread.

I’ve been coming to this location since it opened and I gotta say this honestly is the best soul food, southern traditional style cooking in Atlanta. Tamika is always appreciative of my business. I was honestly stunned the moment I walked in — the place is absolutely beautiful. The décor is elegant without trying too hard, and the upstairs balcony completely won me over. It’s the kind of space you want to sit in for a while and just enjoy. The seafood boil was outstanding: fresh, flavorful, and seasoned perfectly. Every bite tasted like it was made with care. I couldn’t resist dessert and indulged in the sweet potato pie — and let me tell you, it was so good it could give Patti LaBelle serious competition. Great atmosphere, great food, and definitely a spot I’ll be coming back to.

Food was great! Really felt the soul in it. Rib tips were great, baked beans were amazing, mac and cheese definitely recommend. Honestly the service though was just soooo friendly. They made me feel like I was home.

OMMMGGG! The service and food at the CampCreek location are beyond expectations. Upon entering, “Mr. Brown” (not his real name) takes the order with a smile and bubbly personality of the real Mr. Brown of Tyler Perry’s sitcom, “Meet The Browns”. Then there’s Mr . Jabari, Miss Asya and Miss Ann who likewise give excellent service as well. Finally, Miss Tomeka who is ALWAYS pleasant, greets everyone, and handles multitasking with ease. She could easily write a book on providing great customer service. (The service is so consistently great that I felt compelled to know their names). It seems as though the entire staff has been well cross-trained. Now to the food. Everything I have tried has likewise been amazing and consistently tasty. In fact, so good that I have cut back on cooking at home. Whomever the cook is, KUDOS! Keep up the great service and tasty/nutritious food. I’m HOOKED!

This place caught my attention because of the reviews and driving up to it, it looked very nice from the outside and the inside as well. They could be more attentive, everyone just seemed to be a bit dry. But hey the food was rib tips were good, won’t recommend the rice, way too much pepper, but the mac and cheese was good. Surprisingly the corn bread was delicious.

I tell you the truth I am eating that this is it I ordered it citalines macaroni and cheese cornbread muffin ribs collard greens and I think I'm moving in. Ordered 1/2 sheet peach Cobbler for Thanksgiving it was the worst I sent an email and called them to complain I will not be ordering from them again i will not recommend them either

12-28-2024 I'm soooooo glad we stopped and ate. The food was so good! I've always wanted to try their food, and had the opportunity as we traveled back to Alabama. I'm so glad they exceeded my expectations with flavorful food, great customer service, and a very clean restaurant. Thank You!

First time out of town visit! Even though it was a repass of a church member the food was AMAZING!!! Top floor has accessible elevator for handicapped people (like me). Can't do stairs!! The ambiance of the whole restaurant was welcoming!! I came back home to SC telling everyone that the next time they are in the Atlanta area they must go to THIS IS IT!! Oh yeah that BIG Blue chair was a great idea for photos!!

SLOW Waited for over 30 minutes for a 1/2 tray of potato salad TOGO order. The customer service was rude and walked away when I changed order from 3 Large size side to 1/2 tray. Please DO BETTER. Our community deserves better.

Whenever I pick up my guest from the airport i always stop by this restaurant. It's a good southern welcome to Atlanta type of comfort food. Bonus points if Ms Karen is working the carry out window. She's so warm and welcoming. I almost wanted her to become a family member of mine. Since that's always how she makes me feel.

If you like home cooking, if soul food is your thing, if you enjoy amazing food cooked by amazing people then like the name says; This Is It!!! I'm here for business and have eaten at this spot three times this week as it's THAT good! Nothing but gold on the menu, swing in and get you some of this goodness, it's worth every cent!

Outstanding southern cuisine! I ordered the small chitterling plate with rice, black-eyed peas, and Mac n cheese. The staff were super friendly and again, the food was wonderful. Great atmosphere with areas to take photos. The tables and booths were well spaced. Brings a genuine southern charm.

My sister was in the mood for some southern food. I am not a fan of southern food, but this restaurant made me change my mind. I heard there were updated renovations done, and it looks great. There is a drive-through, sit-in dining, or a grab, and I believe there was outside seating as well. The staff was lovely and every informative. The food was delicious and I was very satisfied. Definitely will return.

Food service and atmosphere all wonderful! Please try the banana pudding it's amazing. They give you generous portions for a reasonable price. The food quality tastes like grandma's home cooking. You need to try this place!!

The service was not how it used to be, no nice greeting etc... the food was horrible!!! The wings are at least 4 days old, greens are piping hot and bland, the ribs are dry and taste like they baked them last week... nothing bbq about any of the wings or the ribs! The best thing they handed me was the lemonade and that's sad. Not to mention the prices have gone from high to HOW?!? They are ridiculous!!! They have a new building and left the good food and service in the old building I guess... it's AWFUL! This is it? Not That was it... I won't be back!

Great place for soul food. Good customer service. Plenty of seating and free parking. Currently they have a special 2 combos for $35. Great deal considering how much food you get. Everything was cooked and seasoned perfectly.

I enjoyed my vegetable plate that included collard greens, sweet potatoes & macaroni and cheese. I also received a corn muffin. All of that for $10. I messed up when I ordered 10 wings for $7. They originally gave me the real wings that were on the food line. When I got up there to pay the lady said she gave my wings to someone else. She went to the side to get me some wings but they were totally different. I discovered that later. That wasn't right. I'm including a picture below of the budget wings. ‍

"THIS AIN'T IT (.....NO 'MO)!!!" I travel to Atlanta frequently. This restaurant used to consistently be a favorite, serving delicious food. However, something seems to be "off " in regards to food quality and serving style/portions, menu changes. I totally understand the concept of expansion and improvement, but somewhere along the line, the actual food quality (taste), has suffered! Once upon a time, I would've given this restaurant (at its old location down the street), a "five star +" rating. However, I can no longer do that. The food quality/taste has gone downhill, and I can truly say that I doubt if I'll return to this restaurant again. I have family members in the area, and they share the same sentiments in regards to the quality of food being "low," and the change in how portions are charged ($...pricing), along with the meal. Spent $66.33 (plus a tip), for some bad food! Don't plan to return.....

Meh! As a first time visitor I can honestly say that I did not enjoy this food. Perhaps my expectations were more than they should have been or I've come on the wrong day. Either way, I was completely underwhelmed with the food. Service was also not good. They had no regard for customers because they kept on yapping with each other about foolishness. I swear they must be from New Orleans. We bought a large mac n cheese that was swimming in oil. The cornbread dressing was as dry as a Brillo pad and the seasoned rice was seriously flavorless. The two stars are for the sweet potato casserole which was great. I don't know. I honestly wanted to love the food but it was a sure miss and sadly I won't be returning. The food just didn't look fresh or appealing.

The restaurant was very clean. You're welcomed as soon as you enter. Employees were really nice. I ordered the chopped bbq dinner. Everything was good except the bbq. It was stringy and the meat was a little tough. I had a few hard pieces on my plate. The bbq sauce is really good. Outside of that, the sides, toast, and lemonade were good. Next time I would get a veggie plate. My total was $20..... not sure it was worth the price.

I went to patron one of my favorite establishments. This is it on Kam Creek Parkway. The service that I received was extremely awesome thank you Miss pretty eyebrows. I ordered the fried chicken. I waited 20 minutes patiently for my chicken to be fried fresh only to discover once I got home, I received two pieces of undone fried chicken, very disappointed from this establishment, I can't tell you how bad I wanted that fried chicken at this point I will not be patronizing this establishment any longer. I ask the owners and managers to please handle this situation. I could've gotten sick or anything.

Great Soul food, one of the best places around. Don't knock the chain this place is insane! Always fresh at this location, complimenting portions, friendly and enthusiastic staff and every item made to perfection. Extensive menu to select from. Don't forget your Peach Cobbler !

I ordered 6 piece shrimp dinner with greens & potato salad. The shrimp was good, the greens were mediocre and the potato salad tasted rotten. I'm not sure whether it was rotten potatoes or spoiled mayonnaise but it smelled like rotten feet. You can't call yourself a southern kitchen and have rotten potato salad.

First time here - Fantastic food and value. I got the meatloaf - which I love , and I have to say it's about the best piece of meatloaf I ever had. Tender and juicy and the scratch made peppers onions and tomato sauce was on point! I also got two bones of ribs for a side, which were also very good. Not overdone , pulled nicely from the bone and a flavorful sauce. Super clean restaurant, very nice staff . Will be back.

This is NOT it! Living in the northernmost corner of ATL, I look forward to trips to the airport so we can stop - coming and going! The taste has gradually been changing with the location. Last night, we got boiled meat-tips. No flavor. No BBQ sauce. No welcoming service. The dining area was unkept. This is it for us! We will not be back.

Solid place to pick up some lunch or dinner. They have a variety of choices for anyone. Really good fried pork chops and the tea is good. The Mac n cheese is just okay it's not grandma's style. But I would come here again

Oh.My.Gosh Drove 10 hours straight , had problems with our hotel and then came here. The wait was a little long but listennnnnnnn. WORTH IT! The catfish melted in my mouth, the Mac & Cheese ... sooo good and creamy! My mom lovedddd the ribs, and the meatloaf and let me not get started on this damn banana pudding! God is so good. Use to love the food from here . Rib Tips were fatty and no meat . Also, if you order through Uber the menu shows collards but they don't have them and will substitute without notice .

This is It! It's 6PM dinner time.The line is long, real long. First time ever, which is good cause it gave me time to make the hard decision what to get. 1/2 BarBQ chicken, a piece of fried whiting, Mac and cheese, collard greens and cornbread. The fried whiting with hot sauce was perfect, if I could go back in time I would've ordered 3 pieces. The 2 sides were also great of taste. The BarBQ chicken was finger licking, the meat easily pulled of the bone, and the sauce was mild and not overpowering. This place did not disappoint. Definitely a place to return to when I'm back in ATL in the future. Friendly service I have to add.

For Juneteenth it was important to eat at black owned restaurant and We decided on "This is it"! Came around 12:30pm and it was busy but wait time wasn't bad at all, I did notice the floor was very stick as soon as we walked in and tables were kinda dirty but it most likely look like a staffing issue as it was only 4 people working. Food ordered was the following... -Catfish nuggets w/ Mac& Cheese and Greens -The catfish is made to order and it was so fresh,flavorful & plenty. Both sides were great as well. -Rib Tips w/Cabbage and Mac & Cheese -Rib Tips were a solid 3/5 and I say that because their was inconsistency regarding them...some pieces were tender and others were tough & chewy. -Red Velvet Cake -Peach cobbler Overall experience was cool, they staff was nice but they definitely gotta hire more to tend to the dining area...we had to wipe our own table down with wipes I had on me. It's very spacious place but most tables were dirty and that's not ideal when you want to eat in. Definitely a good place to grab and go.

This ain't it! Everything was so greasy and just dry. Mac and cheese was mediocre at best. The collards needed some love and seasoning, the fries were mushy and the peach punch was pretty much just sugar it was so sweet you couldn't even taste the peach.

I placed an order for 3 dinners on Sunday, Sept 1st and picked up the order the following day. My orders were ready! I selected drinks but was not provided any so maybe that was a mistake but nevertheless, the food was ready and delicious.

I ordered the Meatloaf Dinner with one piece Meatloaf, Mash Potatoes. This was a massive size of Meatloaf it was well put together and for the price it was extremely welcoming . Will I order again oh yes I shall return no doubt.

Super nice remodel with drive thru. Ihe interior is sleek and spacious. Food is always good. I love the recipes. The staff is also very friendly. Highly recommended!

I wish I could give no stars. The staff is not only slow, but has horrible customer service. Most of the dishes are overpriced. The cashier slap my change in my hand because I complained about the ridiculous 3% surcharge for using a debit card. Our community deserves Butch!

I don't have a problem with the food quality because it was always a place to visit for a quick to-go plate. However, stop by today at opening, ordered my usual veggie plate and saw a cockroach crawling by the desserts. You know a place has issues when the cockroaches are visible during the day. They definitely need to clean up the place and take more pride in their investment. Health department has been contacted.

My first experience ever with TII and it was meh. I wasn't expecting my Ma's cooking but I was expecting good soul food. I had fried chicken, black eyes, and potato salad. The chicken had a good flavor although the breast was small. Potato salad is a personal type of dish and this one had too much mustard for my liking. The black eyes were salty. The cornbread was so hard it could've put an eye out if thrown! How can u mess up corn bread rolls.

They are alway out of food evening and late night. If the store is open have the food to offer to customers.

This has went down. There over priced I paid $70 for two plates and two pound cakes. The pound cakes was ok just cold. This place is way to expensive to be so mediocre and on top of that serving awful food..

A little pricey , but the good was good. I had a little higher expectations than from what my friend was telling me about them. Nonetheless, the place nice and clean and the staff was great. I do want to go back and try some more options. It all looked good and was hot and fresh. Nothing old and stale so that was a plus. I recommend anyone try it

Came here before leaving Georgia. It was on the way to the airport for us. It was not busy in the afternoon. It's a nice restaurant that has a cafeteria like eating style. All the food is out and you choose what meal you want. Staff: Very friendly and pleasant. Food: The cheddar rice, the Mac and the catfish nuggets were very good! The catfish was not fried hard at all.

You will think if someone spends $60 for food, you would get it right. The meal comes with 2 sides, I only got one. Every time I give this place another chance, some else is wrong. Definitely will not go back.

This is it FOOD is this is disgusting. I can't believe this place is still in business. The food lack flavor , seasoning and love . I can't believe I spent my hard earn money at this place. I am calling corporate tomorrow for a refund . I ordered the 1 piece fried turkey chop with cabbage , corn and a side of macaroni and cheese. The max n cheese is very wet , like it reminds you of the Kraft Mac n cheese box you cook on the stove. The cabbage had no flavor whats so ever and the corn tasted the chalky. I am highly upset. This is not real southern food. Apparently someone like them because they still in business. I NEVER EVERA SPEND another dime here . Even the sweet tea was nasty

This place was great. This is the newest location and the place is pretty cool. The food was delish. Between the 2 of us, we had meatloaf, chicken wings, mac and cheese, potato salad, collards and mashed potatoes. For dessert we had the strawberry shortcake and added a couple of slices of red velvet cake. All the food was true southern down home cooking. Well prepared and well seasoned. The staff and even a member of management was friendly and welcoming. Really great eating experience.

I have enjoyed This Is It over the years. Though the wait can be lengthy, once you get your food, you're out the door--no different than going somewhere to order food and having to wait. So please , please, please bring your patience with you. FOOD: The collard greens and sweet potato soufflé are always consistent!! I've recently tried the chopped steak and it was absolutely delicious!! SERVICE: They are friendly enough, but much better during non-peak hours. I get it. I was server many moons ago! They used to wear hair nets. No one on the serving line were wearing nets. They should make those mandatory!! BUILDING: The configuration oftentimes create a bottle-neck traffic jam. One way in, one way out. The restaurant is clean, but shows signs of wear--which is why they are building a much larger establishment just behind this location. I have never liked their bathrooms!! I'm a size 6 and have to squeeze into the stalls. I hope they consider this and make larger stalls with the new building. The usage is very noticeable. There is rust on the door stalls. BOOK: I love success stories and wanted to hear more about Mr. Anthony's story so I ordered his autobiography from Amazon. I was so looking forward to this read, but never received it after waiting 6 weeks. I'm not sure if Mr. Anthony visits the stores, but it might be helpful to go undercover.

When I say I'm highly disappointed it's being nice. I ordered Hickory Smoked ribs .. baked beans and potato salad.... The ribs are tough and drenched in BBQ sauce which they need to specify because when I ordered smoked meat .. the sauce needs to be on the side .. ain't nothing smoked about this meat .. it's the sauce that's smoky these ribs are the worst ribs I've ever had in my life .. it's almost like they were frozen and reheated .. complete BS.... the baby back ribs from Applebees taste better than these ... the beans taste like they dumped them right out of the can .. and the potato salad is surprisingly good in spite of all this other stuff. First time coming to any of their locations and definitely the last time. When I walked in I knew it would be a mess as I don't like cafeteria buffet served food .. it's no effort put into it as they only care about quantity not quality. The only reason they got 2 stars is because the potato salad.

The food is 5 stars for sure. This is a winner but the service and layout could use a little help. When I think southern cooking I expect a warm and welcoming environment but this ain't it. It might be ok for some but this is my review. Still a solid 4 stars overall.

Was in the mood for a home style meal, damn was I disappointed. Especially since this was my 1st trying this location out. Ordered grilled tilapia with Mac & cheese, sweet potato casserole & side of greens. I could tell the rice was over cooked. They gave me whiting instead of tilapia fish. It was chewy as hell, worst frozen fish texture I have tasted. The entire, the entire plate had ZERO seasoning. Not evening salt & pepper. This place is not cheap either, meal cost me $23. Waste of money

Watched the cashier broad berate the food service staff in front of customers today. One of the girls clapped back before returning to serve the line. Several customers in the store, talking OVER the glass, without masks. Cashier broad rudely stuffed my receipt INTO THE CUP that they expect me to drink from, and had an attitude when I asked for a new one. She is consistently rude whenever I come in here, and after today, this will absolutely be my last time supporting this location. Significant mark up on entrees AND takeout orders have a Covid surcharge.
