Three Crowns, Stoke Newington

A really nice historic pub with a lovely interior with tables and sofa areas. It has a decent selection of drinks. The food selection is fairly limited and food Is expensive. I had purchased a chicken pie which was just nice, however still had chicken bones within it which had put me off; plus it was a small portion and did not fill me up.

This used to be our 'go to' Sunday Roast place 15 years ago. No idea why we stopped going. Time Out placed it 19th in it's top 25 Pub Sunday Roasts. So we booked. What a disappointment. Lovely table in the dining room. Lovely staff serving drinks. Food....it went down hill. I asked for my beef a little beyond medium. It came well done and cold ..... as was most of the food. We sent the first plates back as the strangely black Yorkshire Puddings were stone cold. The food was served on a cold plate. I had the beef. Very salty. Tough. Cold. Not great quality. My partner had the chicken. Skin was wrinkled but not crisp. Tasted OK. The vegetables were awful. Steamed carrots, cabbage and broccoli. Overcooked and cold...maybe due to the cold plates. Roast potatoes were small and hard. Didn't taste fresh. Been kept 'warm' for too long. The cauliflower cheese was good. Maybe lacking in cheese sauce but hot and tasty. A very average Roast. Not really a top 25 in London Roast...Time Out so wrong. We would have tried a Pudding but the table for two next to us suddenly occupied 3 people. The two on the bench seating were obviously in a new relationship and were all over each other and us. No sense of personal space. The pub should have controlled that. Sad to say we won't return.

Nice place for a Sunday roast in the neighbourhood. We went on Father’s Day. Four of us had pork & two had beef. The meats were delicious, Yorkshire puddings were quite stunning. Veg & potatoes though could be better. Dessert we had sticky dates pudding which we loved, cheesecake was good though nothing special. Service was really good. Pub was a bit too noisy at times as we were sitting right next to the pool table. It was a bit rowdy with noisy kids.

A proper gastropub with a seasonal menu and bold flavours. The new pheasant special is a must; I can't say the same for the sticky toffee, below par and too dry. Prices are reasonable, excellent service.

The three crowns is a very nice dining pub, it's clean. They were playing good music in the back ground -not too loud, you can still have a conversation. The had a small games area At the time I went Thursday evening it wasn't too busy The staff were pleasant The starters are really nice we had The pork chips and the burrito But my main of Beef and Guinness Pie was very salty both the gravy and the pie it self. I couldn't eat it.and I was really looking forward to it it looked amazing The wines we had were really good. I would definitely come back.

Great looking independent pub with fresh food and proper craft on tap! Had a tasty quick lunch

We want to highlight the exceptional service we have received from James on our recent visits. As locals we’ve been coming here for Sunday roasts for 15 years, which are delicious but since James joined, it’s been an elevated experience. He is a true assest to your establishment. On his first day, he was super friendly and welcoming, making us feel right at home. Today, we visited on a Saturday which is unheard of for us and he remembered us from our previous Sunday visit, which added a nice personal touch. Plus the delica pumpkin and goats curd special was fantastic! As someone who's managed in the service industry for 25 years, I can really appreciate how exceptional he is and his passion to ensure customers enjoy their visit is a true skill. His approach makes us want to come back more often, and I think that’s a huge win for the business. James absolutely deserves some recognition for his fantastic service and I hope when I visit next and share we have supplied this feedback he has been rewarded.

I have been coming here for decades. It is has been consistently good to extremely good over the years. It has largely been served well by it's owners of the day (although I think the removal of the bespoke Victorian mirrors behind the bar an absolute crime by the existing owners last year!). Todays visit was fantastic. Really great Sunday lunch. The staff were lovely. I find they always go above and beyond to make one feel looked after. The chef certainly knows his roast meats and cauliflower cheese. Has known beers and regular offers guest beers, so I never get bored. Top local pub.
