"Three Little Birds is a little Brixton spot serving big flavours, strong cocktails, and some damn good okra. Put 40 of these crunchy little fellas down in front of us and we would just keep on eating them. Their small menu of Jamaican classics are served tapas style, so you can try everything from curry goat to the codfish fritters alongside your pineapple spritz, or opt for their rum sauce banana pancakes at their weekend bottomless brunch. If you can’t think of an imaginative enough excuse for why you need to duck out of work at 4pm for their great £6.50 cocktail happy hour, then know that they also have seven quid cocktail specials throughout the night. Plus, they’re open until 1am at the weekend so it’s also perfect for one last drink after dinner." - Heidi Lauth Beasley

"Named after a Bob Marley song, this café, boutique and rum bar celebrates the cuisine, music and talent of Jamaica. An extensive menu features some rare tropical gems including jerk chicken tacos or calamari with grilled pineapple, finished off with some banana pancakes." - Riaz Phillips

I visited Three Little Birds last week, and it was a great experience. From a swift and easy booking, to when I arrived - Manuel took my order, and made me feel comfortable as I waited for my friend to arrive. We were unsure what to order, but we asked our waiter who - suggested the special which was Sweet Potato croquettes. The ambience was perfect, music in the background - as well as dimly lit candles and tables socially distanced so you can feel safe in the current COVID19 pandemic Now, on to the food - the codfish fritters came with a lovely sweet chilli sauce that was extremely nice. It complimented it well, as the calamari was also just perfect cooked with an outer layer of breadcrumbs. Finally, and most importantly, the dessert (not pictured as we hadn't time to take a pic of it) was divine. Strawberry Cheesecake with Lime/Sorrell was the highlight. It ended what was a perfect catch up with a friend, having not seen them for 5 months. I can't recommend Manuel and Three Little Birds in Brixton, I went away feeling nourished and so satisfied by the service and flavours.

Excellent food and drink, added to amazing service. Will definitely be going back again to Wood and Water. Great for those who are gluten free too!

My sister and i went here today for brunch. The restaurant was very cosy, our waiter was so polite and even recommended the Jamaican Mary (cocktail made with rum/tomato juice/slice of ginger/rosemary/ tabasco sauce)...it was a little weird. I had the Avocado on toast with slices of halloumi: while my sister had the Jamaican breakfast. All in all, we both had a lovely time.

Absolutely amazing place to relax and enjoy every bit of the time, as soon as you entered. Above all Adam and his cook are extraordinary. I can't wait to come back. Usually the place is well known for Brunch, but they do different types of food. Accompanied with variety of alcohol and hot drinks.

First time eating out on Friday night at Three Little Birds and it won't be the last! The restaurant has a warm, relaxed, cosy atmosphere; cocktails are punchy and the food (although the portions may look tiny at first) is really filling and incredibly tasty. The waiting staff was great - really kind and attentive without being invasive. Overall, it was a lovely dining experience and I will certainly return. PS. Try the cheesecake, you won't regret it 😉

Google
Highly recommended, the food is authentic Jamaican food unlike the crappy chain across the road from there. The cocktails are amazing, you can tell they're big on attention to details. The atmosphere in there is just right without being pretentious. Thank you for a lovely Friday night.

Google
Delicious food and great ambiance! Go for the wings (sweet + spicy) , the fries (smoky), the codfish fritters (sweet + salty, corn was a nice touch), and the fried okra was bomb! Also the cocktails are so yum!! 😍

trademark tee.

Google
Curry Goat (£9.50), Rice and Peas (£4.50) a fair price. Substantial though it looks otherwise. Just wish the Curry Goat was more flavoursome and the menu more extensive

Yelp
This was a great spot. You have to try the Rum punch, it was made with pure love and served with dried pomegranate. . The Jerk/Honey wings as an appetizer were 100%perfect. My party of 4 ordered everything from the jerk ribs to the salmon. We had a great time!

Yelp
Great spot- was in town visiting from NYC and found this gem on a blog. Already was planning to visit Brixton, was very pleased with this spot. Service 5/5 - waitress was a DOLL seriously the cutest thing ever so sweet and attentive and knew the menu like the back of her hand Food -5/5... we ordered the salmon, jerk chicken wings, plantains, fries and Mac and cheese the food was phenomenal and honestly served hot Drinks - 5/5 we ordered the caliente and a mojito both were strong but not overly saturated. They kicked in too Overall this place is a hidden gem and a solid 10 out of 10, will definitely come back next time in London for work

Yelp
If I liked spice this place would definitely get 4* but I am no good with it - like AT ALL! And boy does this place put a lotta spice in their stuff. I tried their spicy beef slider and although it was tasty, it was too spicy for me. Alongside that I had a chilli mojito which I thought might give a little kick but it was literally unbearable! The place itself has a cool vibe and the people there are really friendly. Unfortunately I won't be back because I literally couldn't eat anything there again but would recommend for any spice fiends!

Yelp
If you're in the mood for modern Jamaican fare with great cocktails, this is your spot. The plates are made for sharing so you can get a selection of items. The chicken dishes are well prepared as was the salmon. The Mac and cheese came hot and steaming to the table which was great.

Yelp
Wow...this Jamaican rum bar serves the spiciest cocktails I've ever had! Good thing, I like spice...but if you don't, maybe ask the bartender to tone it down a bit. I had the Chilli Mojito to start with, and it was full of great flavors. For food, I tried the Jerk Veggie Burger, which I'd also recommend. Just the right amount of spice and the red onion chutney added some nice texture. A friend had the Beef Jerk Burger, and she said it was good as well. There were loads more things on the menu that looked great...I saw a few plates being brought out to other patrons, and it all looked delish. The staff and atmosphere were great(always a big plus in my book). The bartender even stopped to ask how our drinks were as he walked by my friend and I. Good decor, chill music and comfortable seats. The next time I'm out in Brixton, I'd definitely stop by Three Little Birds....maybe next time it'll be during the day so I can get some coffee and cake!

Yelp
Firstly I never this place existed and might have just walked past it but I'm glad this little stretch. Is getting more attention by businesses. Although we had a nice jerk chicken slider, I felt the meat was almost too soft rather than being meaty like most burgers you try. Maybe it's because it was a slider with a lesser proportion of meat that affected the way the texture was. Either way I liked the spicing though. Just needed more. An invitation for me to come back i'm sure. What I like most apart from the fabulous chilli mojito which literally fired up as a boozy spectacle was the staff who was so friendly and made sure the atmosphere was fun and vibrant. I think that's what gives the best bars the edge. And when I say bar that is what it felt like to me in its dark night setting in there, though I'd be interested to come back for a proper meal. Overall it was a good introduction to what Three Little Birds are about.

Yelp
I got the New Market as takeaway and was pleasantly surprised at the flavour; the coconut really shown through in the creamy greens and the bammy was light and completed the callaloo nicely! However, I agree with the other reviewers that the portion and price don't match as £9 for that small dish was just too much. Then again it tasted far better than the food I had at Zoe's Ghana Kitchen earlier that night!

Yelp
Great coffee, great service. This cool cafe/rum bar in the heart of Brixton is a must stop in and check out. Regardless if your looking for a chill spot in the evenings or a great coffee in the morning it's worth it. It's only been open for the past month so it's catching it's crowds for evening drinks, but I would highly recommend the coffee!

Yelp
I visited Three Little Birds over a month ago during a trip to London, and since I am still craving the food and drinks I had there I figured it was about time I left a review. The vibe: Pleasant, intimate but not confined, well decorated and appropriately lit. It's the type of spot that would be equally great for a date night, Sunday brunch, or a birthday dinner with friends. The food: Where to start? The food is served tapas style (small plates), allowing you to taste and share a wide variety of dishes. This was a huge benefit, since everything I tasted on the menu was fantastic. Some callouts include - Jerk chicken burger - my favorite, and unlike anything I've ever tasted before. My father is Jamaican and I grew up in NY, so I'm not new to Caribbean food. This dish was familiar enough to be comforting with a novel enough delivery to be exciting and new. The chicken was moist and well seasoned, and even the bun was warm and soft. Amazing. - Mac and cheese- well executed, super cheesy and not overdone. - Plantain- soft and sweet and perfect - Curry goat - tender and flavorful, great with the rice and peas The menu changes seasonally but lamenting dishes being phased out would be missing the point. Everything I had was great and I'm confident that whatever the chefs think up will also be fantastic. Drinks: Also very good. Loved the rum punch and another rum drink I had but don't remember the name of. All around I had a great meal here and actively daydream about comimg for both brunch and dinner during my next trip to London. Better yet, they can open a location in NY!

Yelp
I'm always up for brunch and on Sunday a friend and I stopped by here for much needed food. We arrived around 13.00 and was seated fairly quickly, however that was the only fast thing about the entire visit. We ordered drinks (2 mint teas) and were left to browse the menu. They only do around 5-6 main style meals and some small starter options. 15mins had passed and we only just got our teas, a further 10mins passed before we ordered our food. Both ordering an omelette. The menu didn't advise you could have options of what was in the omelette, so we went with what the waitress had said (tomato, mushroom and bacon). 5mins later she came back and told us actually we could only have 2 options, or it'd be an extra £1. So one was mushroom/bacon the other tomato/mushroom. Now the place wasn't super busy, most tables were taken, but i didn't get a sense the staff were run off their feet. 40mins later our food finally arrived, however one of the omelette's were wrong, and came out as tomato and bacon. It was taken back to the kitchen, but then the snotty waitress came back out, admitted it was her mistake but if we didn't take the omelette how it was we'd have to wait another 15mins. She ended up compromising and provided sauteed mushrooms, which took 5-10mins anyways. So we ate. It was underwhelming. One small piece of toast, and a few pieces of mushrooms. We then waited a further 5-10mins to pay the bill. I cannot understand why this place is popular. I will not be going back, even if they have bottomless brunch options!

Yelp
It was such a delight to dine at Three Little Birds. I first visited in Dec 2019 for a family meal, and was met with the warmest of welcomes, served with the most informative and charming staff and feed the most innovative, delicious and memorable Caribbean cuisine I've tasted; (with some added humorous moments of sing-a-longs and dancing to Bey). That says a lot being of Caribbean heritage myself, raised on generations of hard food, we have high standards and are passionate about our food. I'm honestly proud that this black-owned restaurant exists, occupies space in gentrified London and is thriving! I wish for nothing more than further expansion and success for Three Little Birds and it's owner April. Her labour and that of all the staff that work alongside her is recognised and applauded. I salute you all and wishing you the best! Can't wait to visit again.

Yelp
I took the recommendation of a couple of cousins of mine who have traveled thru London. I must admit that the cuisine is very authentic. I have in-laws that are Jamaican. I wish the portions were larger but that's just me being greedy.

Yelp
Atmosphere - 4/5 - Is great, great music, nice friendly staff. The vibe is just on the edge of being a restaurant pushing to be a cocktail bar. Cleanliness/Decor - 2/5 - The decor itself is nice, it has a tiki-bar feel. However, the cleanliness is questionable. The toilets are at the back left and you have to go through the kitchen services area and there's no hiding when that's the case. Kitchen seemed a bit of a mess and food was all over the floor. Food - 3/5 - We tried the veggie burger. Nice bun and relish, however the patty was very soft and had no crispness to the edge, which you would expect from a veggie burger. Drink - 2/5 - They have a happy hour on till 8. We just missed it and on a bit of budget ended up getting a bottle of beer instead. However, when they gave it over and asked for £5.50 for the small bottle, I was gob smacked! Would I recommend - Probably not Would I come back - No Visit - 18/04/2016 (Evening)

Yelp
Jamaican tapas style restaurant in Brixton. This place is great! I'm Jamaican so a bit critical when it comes Jamaican cuisine. This place is authentic in taste, I had the half chicken with hard dough bread, omg the rice n peas is everything. Lastly but just as important, awesome customer service. The owner, April is so accessible, so connected, so humble, and so kind ! New favorite place in this area.

Lynn C.

Yelp
Only tried the free vege burgers and rum cocktail from the event I was at but they were both very nice. It's the first time I've ever had a cocktail that was more spicy than my food but is also the first time I've ever enjoyed a cocktail containing rum. My lips were still tingling and burning over an hour later! I will likely go back to try out the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Very excited about this little discovery!! Cafe during the day ...looking forward to a Marley coffee there soon! And then fabulous cocktails and yummy Jamaican food with a fun vibe in the evenings!! Lovely, friendly staff and a really fun, cool atmosphere. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Really poor food. Poor service. The food was bland. Over priced. Was a bad example of what Caribbean food is. Would never come here again.
