Google
3 star bar? but 1 star vibes . It took a while to order a drink.(wasnt busy at all) but….there were some others that come after us and next to us and get served first? Hmmm Ehh whatever but What put the cherry on top was i decided to try a different beer today. And didnt realize it was a non-alcoholic yup says n/a but wasnt sure what abbreviation meant. My tiny suggestion is the make a separate menu with non alcoholic drinks. Some or us don’t have the greatest vision 🤘

Google
Three Star is our favorite neighborhood bar in the Grayson and Broadway area. I always go for the beer shot combo, and their jello shots take me right back to my college days. The bartenders change often, but the drinks are always consistently good. The highlight for me is the mini pop-up kitchen, Fried Hard Wings. The wings are perfectly crispy, packed with flavor, and loaded with seasonings. Seating is limited inside, but there's plenty of space on both the front and back patios. They’ve got a pool table and an outdoor tv too, making it a great spot to hang out!

Google
This place is a wonderful fusion between a dive bar and an upbeat hangout place for the friends. The bartenders were incredibly friendly and were very patient with me as I asked some questions about the specialty drinks and food. The drinks came out amazing every time and the food was cooked well. If you're in the San Antonio area looking for a hidden gem I couldn't recommend a better place!

Google
I come to three star bar for the FIVE STAR staff, drinks, but most importantly THE FIVE STAR WINGS!!!! Fried hard has the best wings I have EVER TASTED. Chris really gives these wings his all and it shows because i think about these wings practically every.single.day. Very great atmosphere! Inside and outside seating! Great music! THE BEST WINGS IN SAN ANTONIO!!!

Younes Dayekh

Google
I came here with my coworker and WOW, the WING KING took care of use and was very welcoming. Their wings are top tier and so are their drinks. I highly recommend this location to anyone

Bryan Ratel

Google
Phenomenal low key bar, wings are top notch, with superior customer service. The smokers outside bugged me and music was a little loud. But nice for a night on the town or a date night! Highly recommend the wings!

Google
We come to Three Star Bar quite a bit! We really enjoy the laid back atmosphere. My cocktails are always good. Never had any issues with bathrooms or staff. Nice outdoor seating which is nice because sometimes we bring our dog. We also LOVE the wings by Fried Hard. We don’t eat wings from anywhere else anymore!! Fried Hard has great wing flavors and we love the spicy ones especially!! The future “Wing King” is really chill and nice. We will continue to support both of these businesses!! Wishing them both lots of success!!

Yelp
It's a pretty simple bar with good prices and a dart board. My friend got to watch a fight here one time, but the times I've went it was a chill weekday. I like that they offer different pop-ups for food. My friend really likes the chicken wing pop-up, but I have heard good things about the pizza one as well. You can check their instagram for who- if anyone- is cookin'. Their girls bathroom entry has a fun disco ball light thing going on.

Yelp
Three Star Bar offers an exceptional bar experience that stands out from the crowd. The service at the bar is top-notch, with friendly and attentive staff who go above and beyond to ensure every customer feels welcomed and well taken care of. During my visit, I had the pleasure of trying the pop-up pizza called Banksy, and it was absolutely delicious. The combination of fresh ingredients and unique flavors made it a standout dish that perfectly complemented the drinks at the bar. The ambiance outside of the bar adds to the overall experience, providing a relaxed and inviting atmosphere where patrons can enjoy their drinks and food in the company of friends or fellow bar-goers. Overall, Three Star Bar exceeded my expectations with its exceptional service, delicious food, and inviting atmosphere. It's the perfect spot for a casual night out or a gathering with friends, and I can't wait to return for another memorable experience.

Yelp
They had me at first bite of the vegan Frito pie. A childhood ~delicacy~ turned adulting ~delicacy~ when out enjoying a cocktail. The large patio in front is perfect for relaxing with your boo or catching up with friends (there's also plenty of space out back as well). The staff were all friendly and kind!

Yelp
Zero stars if it were possible. Service was atrocious. snobby attitudes from the bar staff. I ordered wings from the kitchen. Guy back there had his feet kicked up chillen gave me attitude when I asked if i could have the wings to go. He said and I quote " I'm trying to be the wing king you feel me" Wings took over 20mins to cook and were dry and over cooked. The best part is he gave me a Togo box after I had asked to make it Togo. Apparently thay was asking too much. I will not be going back.

Yelp
Great service! Just what you'd expect from a downtown bar. Something for everyone, inside and out.

Yelp
First time visiting this bar, it has a cute vintage atmosphere! But we were not greeted when we came in, not that it's expected but there was a total of 3 people in the place. Ordered off the "new" special August menu but they didn't have the ingredients for the drink I ordered. Eventually was helped at the food counter, order a burger and fries. Don't know if Tajin on fries was a joke but would of been nice to know they come "seasoned" before ordering them, because tajin doesn't go on fries lol, the burger was good though! Probably will not return. The idea of the place is cute tho!

Yelp
All the above great Memphis style wings ( From Chris) good service , good service!!! Chill vibes highly recommend

Yelp
Great atmosphere and very lively music. I like how they allow food vendors to come cook for their customers.

Amanda G.

Yelp
Fried hard probably has the best wings in SA. The bar? It's uncomfortable hot in there.

Yelp
Considering the location, I would expect this to be an IRONIC take on the "okayest dad-bar." It has all the wood panelling and Cheers-ish sitcom decor. It's almost entirely brown or beige, and there is not a single foliage wall adorned with a witty neon sign, but drink prices are steep, and it's across the street from Hello Paradise. I Thought it would be reasonable to assume patronage would include the hip, the young, the too-cool-for-cool. I was wrong, at least around happy hour, it's ALL DADS!  Judging from pictures online, the median age seems to diminish as the sun goes down. And I'll surely go back, even if I'm just another middle-aged dad in a crowd of middle aged dads.

Karissa A.

Yelp
There was a moth in my drink and they don't clean their countertops regularly. The service was not good my friends and I waited 30 minutes and there was actually barely anyone else at the bar. The servers were rude and acted entitled for some reason.

Yelp
I really like this place. It a nice relaxed atmosphere with great prices, especially for the location. I ordered the Pimms Cup and really enjoyed it. They have a good selection of local beer as well as their beer and shot combos. Also, definitely try the Johnny's Dawg.

Yelp
The world's okayest bar! This place looks like someone converted someone's house on Grayson into a bar, and did a pretty okay job of it ! They've got lots of fun drinks, plenty of beers on tap, and games to play! There's a nice outdoor area that's perfect for events. Try the Malort! There's a drink combo called 'fight your dad.' It's a malort with a beer chaser. You need this in your life if you want to feel like you're in a Chicago bar- Malort is a strictly Chi-town thing. The staff was friendly and we got our drinks quickly! The place was clean, and they had some rocking music. My favorite thing is all the video games and pinball they offer! Woo! It's close to the Pearl, but the drinks are cheaper here, and the parking (if you can find it) is free! It's a good jumping off point if you're willing to walk a few blocks to the Pearl for free parking and cheap(er) drinks. They were holding a class reunion for a local high school when I went, so it was largely off limits when I went.

Yelp
This is the best "dive" bar I've been to in San Antonio. I put dive in quotations because despite the laid back ambiance, they have a great cocktail and shot menu. Juan and Martine were absolute sweethearts who know how to turn a customer into a regular. Came with my best friend who was visiting as our last spot to hit on our girls trip and had an absolute blast. Such a gem!

Jennifer O.

Yelp
Great bartenders. Drinks are reasonably priced and lots of alcohol options. The wings are amazing! Come here for the best wings. Memphis style wings. Best wings anywhere in San Antonio area. I loved the honey gold. Sweet potato fries were the bomb. Great atmosphere. Can't go wrong with 3 star!

Concerned C.

Yelp
They allow non -support dogs in the eating area. Talk about a flea problem. The manager or whoever was in charge was a jerk. I complained about a dog being in the eating area and instead of making the dog go onto the patio, he took my food away and tried to throw me out. He wouldn't give me my food to go and when I did go outside, he harassed me to not even stand by the door and wait for my friend to come. He said I was drunk, and I didn't even have a drink. I was just very upset that a non-service dog was allowed in the eating area. And to make matters worse, they called the police on me. I am a law-abiding, paying customer who was harassed by this establishment. It's a sad day when a dog takes precedence over a concerned customer. I will never go to this place again and I recommend they change their name to 1 Star Bar.

Yelp
This is the old Grayze on Grayson spot. When you enter, immediately there is a long bar top and then seating when you walk to the back. We didn't eat here yet, but have decided we're going to give it a shot for lunch. The cocktails are good and service was fast. Music is good and not too loud. There is one TV that I saw; it's above the bar, so if you get here early enough on a game day, you can watch. The day we went there were specials on the house cocktails. We will continue to give them our business.

Yelp
Disrespect. Disrespect. Disrespect. Uncalled for and unwarranted treatment from entire staff with no grounds for the way I was treated and when I continually asked for the reason of their ill treatment they could not give me an answer. Don't worry though, legal action is being taken as that is how badly I was treated and the violation that took place that night. So it's coming for you....just wait. There is no hiding from the truth.

Patrick S.

Yelp
Nice addition to the area, this neighborhood bar has two large outdoor areas (front and back) a welcoming bar and seating inside. There are fun games (pinball, buck hunter, and golden tee inside; cornhole, pop a shot basketball outside). There are TVs inside and out if you want to catch the game. Full bar menu with the classics and some fun throwbacks (Coors banquet, Miller high life, gin and grape soda cocktail, etc). Food starts with typical bar standards (burger, etc) but moves on to raise the bar on quality and inventiveness over what you might expect in a neighborhood bar setting. Meatball sub, patty melt, italian sub, and tater tots were all great. Their tongue-in-cheek goal to just be "three star" and forego the snobbery of some cocktail joints is on point, but the quality of food, drinks, and service still shines through. Cheers!

Yelp
Great bar. Super laidback place to just hangout. Dogs are welcome! They have great cocktails and beer & shot combos. Jack Rose cocktail is my favorite! They have the Righteous Pie pizza truck on site that serves huge slices. Really hits the spot after a few drinks. We've always had great bartenders, except for one guy who had no customer service whatsoever. Anyways, I just don't order from him lol. One thing I'll say is keep an eye on the receipt. Most restaurant/bars have the auto tip feature with 18, 20, 25%. This bar has 30, 40, 50%. I'm all for tipping but that's a little steep. Overall, great place!

Yelp
Literally a local bar. Cool vibe. Has a small bar menu and good drinks. We came for happy hour so very close to 4. I was so grossed out by some drunk man at the bar. The poor young lady at bar either new him or something. She should have called him a cab a long time before happy hour. He was complaining and mumbling. Not something I wanted to say at first time visiting. It got worse. He vomited right at bar and himself. I told her yeah call an Uber or cab. He shouldn't be here. Evidently he's a regular. We sat outside. While I was waiting outside he came out and fell in the loose gravel and swaying. I give three stars due to this incident and with Covid still going around now someone needs to sterilize the bar. Just gross!

Yelp
I like this place! Very nice cool shaded patios in the front, back and side. Ample parking in back. Bottled Miller High Life is a bonus for me but there is a wide selection of beer. Beer on tap, in a can and bottled. The music selection they play is really great. Good vibes. TVs in the back. Pinball and basketball hoops. Easy, fun, chill place. Pub menu with pretzel stuffs and other good stuff. Solid place. Will come back for sure.

Dorie B.

Yelp
Feel like I should be giving three stars, lol, but they did better than that. Seems like they are still working out the details but they have a decent amount of beer on tap and quite the menu of mixed drinks. The late night menu only consisted of 3 things; Frito Pie, hot dog and loaded tater tots. Maybe that will expand with time. Great music too!
google avatar

Frannie M.

Yelp
Chill and laid back ambiance! Great drinks! And great bartender/owner! I'm definitely going back!
google avatar

Mike L.

Yelp
Horrible service from the blonde bartender with breath as bad as the service. I don't know why these people feel so entitled to stand around and do nothing and roll their eyes at you when you try and order something. If you can't make it as a cook, don't try and work as a bartender if you are going to carry on with a piss poor attitude.

Roman A.

Yelp
Nice set up , cool Atmosphere. Problem is the ghetto door guy and bartender. Aggressively checking IDs after you've been there for hours . And what kind of bartender says " What's up with you why you looking at me like that ? You want sone shit with me ? So sad that this type of unprofessional trash and is gonna hurt the turnout at this hole . Guess that's why it was dead so late at night .
google avatar

Jacob M.

Yelp
Nice bar. Unique set of drinks. Kinda got the old school bar feel. Great staff. I suggest getting the fight your dad cocktail.

John V.

Yelp
3 Star, more like 1/2 a star. I would leave 0 stars if I could. Ever since the new ownership has taken over this bar, the prices have sky rocketed, and the service has plummeted. My girlfriend and I used to love coming here because of the back patio, and we have since continued to come back, trying to give it another chance. This last experience was the final nail in the coffin, I will not be coming back. As a service industry person, I'm not too picky and don't ever order hard to make cocktails. We came in to have a shot and a beer while we waited for a friend to meet us, so we ordered 2 well whiskey shots and split a very small pitcher of beer, which only held about 2 1/2 beers. My issue was when I got the tab, which was $43.30.... For 2 SHOTS AND A TINY PITCHER OF BEER! I normally tip above 20% because being in the industry, I know how hard it is and how important tips are, but the options on the ticket start at 30% and go up to 50%, clearly trying to take advantage of drunk unassuming customers. I will not be back here, and to all future customers, double check your tab and make sure you are tipping appropriately.

Anonymous A.

Yelp
Food is great. Service is amazing. Totally recommend this spot for a little date night or day drinking.

Sheri S.

Yelp
Would of given 5 stars but I wanted to play pool and play darts too so if they had those I would of given the 5th star, other then that great place.
google avatar

Brandon Y.

Yelp
5 stars for three star! Personally i love the vibe of the place, it's not loud and I like the outside portion in the back. Prices are good especially with the pearl right down the road!

Amanda J.

Yelp
I had a handful of drinks, still had my wits about me but the bartender with lack and blonde hair has been nothing but rude and cut me off regardless of the people around me who had more drinks. I got kicked out because of some petty chick at the bar. I've been going for months and have never caused a problem but this one bartender is just mean for a reason I don't know. If I was drunk and throwing up on myself or others I would understand. That wasn't the case. If you want to be constantly judged go here.

Michael F.

Yelp
If you want to go somewhere with unfriendly bartenders, weak drinks, kids playing games without rewards and fans that "don't work " then this is the trash bar to go to. And of course, why not, you are in San Antonio, don't we all love to sweat our asses off and pay way too much for juice! Please don't be fooled by the plethora of ceiling fans in the back, they of course "don't work" says the lazy bartenders. Location location location. Except in this case, pathetic, pathetic, pathetic!

Carlos N.

Yelp
Was here about 2 months ago. There was an unruly guest we will call "ShAmy J". She walked in leaning against another friend obviously inebriated and after a cool 15 minutes of trying to gather themselves in the bathroom, they sat at the bar expecting to be served. Everyone on staff was very aware of their condition and we're in agreement they were not to be served anything but water. Shamy was not pleased and proceeded to stand up on her chair and get in the face of the bartender insulting her for not serving her, all the while her friend was already trying to catch some z's on the bartop. The bartender asked her to leave and she declined so she went towards the exit to talk to the owners about her condition. Shamy followed the bartender and approached her aggressively getting within inches of her face. The owners witnessed this and separated the woman from the bartender. Her friend picked her head up from sleeping position and yelled they needed to leave. Shamy wasn't having any of it and while her friend grabbed her by her waist trying to pull her out of the bar, she grabbed the frame of the door and yelled for dear life that she was not leaving. Im not gonna lie, I laughed at her. She was not happy with me and got in my face, chest bumped me, and then was promptly escorted outside by the staff. Always a good time at Three Star. 5 stars, would recommend.
