Or, you can upgrade to a three-course private luncheon ($200 per person, available Monday to Friday) paired with five wines. "This boutique winery crafts small-batch artisanal wines from several vineyards around the Sonoma Coast. Located downtown Sonoma in Vallejo-Castañeda Adobe House, a mid-1800's historic landmark which the owners reinvented with the help of architect Ken Fulk, the space is stunning: equally eclectic and modern with Mexican influences. Our first time to the area, we spent a day in Napa and were recommended to Three Sticks in Sonoma. WOW! I am so pleased we to-ok the time to visit both Napa and Sonoma. Sonoma is definitely where my particular tastes lie. We had a magical experiencde at The Adobe, with Kathy as our lovely guide. We sampled some truly delicious wine, had a wonderful recommendation for where we wanted to eat lunch; had a wonderful experience walking to Vella cheese to buy some delicious cheese we had sampled at Three Sticks and then had a perfect recommendation to another great winery. All of this thanks to Kathy and her knowledge. It was a beautiful setting, delicious wine and so much knowledge. The Adobe has been crafted and decorated so well- there is no way one could not enjoy their time at Three Sticks. I am so pleased to have been introduced. Cannot wait until my next visit back; taking some bottles east until that day.

Went here with the wife to take advantage of a complimentary membership tasting that was recommended to us by Papapietro Perry Winery. One of the best wine tasting experience we've ever had. Fantastic Pinot Noir. We've signed up for membership and we'll back in the fall to pick up our wines. Or, maybe sooner than that. Thank you Nick for hosting us. We had a wonderful time...

Google
Linda and Nick…thank you for one of the BEST wine experiences we’ve ever had! From the minute we pressed the doorbell the experience was filled with excellent wine, food and conversation. The decor and history of the building are fascinating. The service sets this place apart, it’s intimate, authentic and engaging. Book here, you won’t be disappointed. I’ll be back anytime I visit the area!

Three Sticks Wines at the Adobe offers an intimate and unique wine-tasting experience in a beautifully restored historic building. The wines, especially the Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, are exceptional, and the knowledgeable staff provide great insights into their craftsmanship, Linda was very helpful and nice. The adobe’s charming ambiance adds a special touch to the visit, making it a must-see for wine enthusiasts in Sonoma.

Google
Three Sticks is a small, cozy yet fashionable winery. Their adobes are formed like a Spanish village where you have pockets of pretty decor both indoors and outdoors. Our group had the backyard which had lovely lights hanging with beautiful Japanese maple trees. And their pinot was quite marvelous. Loved the experience!

Google
I toured six wineries while in Sonoma last week and this one was my favorite! My husband and I did a tasting in the cottage at the Adobe and it was beautiful! This was the only winery that actually provided cards with information about each of the wines we were tasting. Rob Busson was an AMAZING host! He was very knowledgeable on the wine making process and all of the Three Sticks wines. We loved the wines and the tasting so much that we are now wine club members! I HIGHLY recommend doing a wine tasting here and ask for Rob Busson because he was the best host we had while in Sonoma. He really made the tasting special for my birthday. Thank you!

Yelp
A phenomenal tasting experience, so good I didn't want to write a review so I could gatekeep this place. The location was a bit tricky to find because my gps put me a little further up the street than where the entrance was. But once you get through the doors, you're transported to a beautiful Spanish style space full of charm and history. Our hostess was friendly and knowledgeable, her enthusiasm for the wines and food pairings made the time pass by so quickly that we ended up having to get kicked out when the tasting room closed and were late for our dinner reservation. We had the castenada rose, chards and pinots. The Castenada rose is a winner for any summer day. I enjoy chards and pinots but they're rarely my first choice unless the food calls for it. However, the chards and pinots here are so good that they would easily be some of the first bottles I go to.

Yelp
The Adobe building and the garden with a fire pit behind it are lovely. A perfect place for a wine tasting. Our host was a wonderful women, sorry forgot her name, that made the tasting so interesting and giving us the history of Three Sticks and info about the vineyards. We were able to taste some Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. The chardonnays were crisp, rich in fruits and a nice lingering finish. The Pinot Noirs were just outstanding; complex with some currant and even a smokey tea flavor; really makes you smile. Of course, we had to take a few bottles with us.

Yelp
Believe the hype! What a boutique experience -- we had a private host in a fantastically decorated room towards the back of the winery. The chairs were SO comfortable -- a very relaxing experience. Everyone in my party really enjoyed this winery. The wines here are beautifully crafted -- they specialize in chardonnay and pinot noir varietals. I didn't know what to expect here as I booked the reservation because I hadn't read any reviews of the business, but I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the service, the character of the building, and the wines. I really enjoyed the separate high end stemware to compare the different vintages and vineyards. It really allows the guest to taste the differences between the different vineyards. Pours were of ample quantity! It is by appointment only, so I highly recommend planning accordingly. This is a gem of an establishment , I hope they continue to do well!

Yelp
We had a little girls jaunt to Sonoma, and Three Sticks Wines was BY FAR our favorite spot on the trip. Three Sticks is owned by the same group as Kistler, but... incredible Chardonnays at 1/2 of the price of its sister. Our sommelier host Robert (?) was a doll, and even poured a little extra and gave some extra nibbles from some delicious local cheese makers. My only grumble about 3 sticks was I was three figures lighter in my wallet after all the wine club wine I bought!

Yelp
Beautiful winery. Landscaping and decor are beautiful. The wines are stupendous. Many industry people are members here.

Yelp
The worst wine tasting I ever had in my life. First of all, if you don't like to open the door for your guests when they are late change your system and don't be rude when you let me through the door. Your employees are rude, awful, and our tasting host was borderline aggressive. I feel like I was being punished for being two minutes late. Also if you plan on paring specific foods with the wine, please let your guest know before you start the tasting. And I think this is the most important feedback - I'm going Wine Tasting to try your wine and if I don't like a wine please do not telll me I am wrong and maybe if you try it with some food it will be better. I'm not going to a wine tasting to be told you can not dislike a wine.. A good wine is a good wine by itself, it doesn't need to be paired with food. This was our second time here and we didn't like either tasting. Again same experience as a couple years ago, very arrogant staff with ok wine.

Satish K.

Yelp
Great wines and ambience! Loved their Pinot! The location is bit different than a typical Napa winery. It's located in a residential/business area and is right next to a historic hotel. But once you enter the premises - you are in a beautiful serene world. Loved our time at this boutique winery.

Yelp
Hidden Gem in the cute little town of Sonoma. An awesome little hole in the wall in a gorgeous outdoor setting. Totally unassuming from the outside, but a haven once you enter. My friends and I just loved the experience and also the wine. Our wine host was knowledgeable, nice and gracious.

Yelp
We normally like to go to the vineyard to do tasting but this little gem in the heart of downtown Sonoma is a must stop. The tasting in the courtyard was fantastic. Our host was fun, happy and very knowledgeable. She made this a fantastic time The wine is really good and reasonably priced. If you are in Sonoma make an appointment and stop by

Yelp
Rob was a great host for our Wine Tasting! The office building and grounds are beautiful and wines were delicious. We loved hearing about the history and culture of the building, the wines, and the company. Mahalo Price and Three Sticks 'Ohana!!!

Yelp
The wine was spectacular and the Adobe is a perfect setting for wine tasting. We tried a couple glasses of chardonnay, two pinot noir, cab, rose and white rose, all were great... 5 stars. We got the wine and food pairing which was fun. They special made our food vegetarian which included a cauliflower salad, cheese bread puff, beet salad, stuffed radish, and hen of woods mushroom. The small bites were ok, and to be fair, I was already stuffed from lunch at Girl and the Fig. My boyfriend enjoyed the veggies, but I wanted more carbs and fat... 3.5 stars. Our wine sommelier was sweet and fun! She was knowledgable about the place and enjoyed talking about wine and wine country. I enoyed the tour of the grounds, she told us of the history of the Adobe and how it was an actual Mexican adobe from the 1800s. She guided us to see the art pieces and hand-painted murals. Pretty place! 5 stars for the tour! Three Sticks is a one minute walk from Girl and the Fig. I would reccomend eating at the Girl and the Fig and then do wine tasting at Three Sticks. We had a great experience and bought a bottle of rose to take home.

Yelp
Don't be like me and walk into this place with no appointment. One of my girlfriends proclaimed that Three Sticks is one of the best wines she's ever tried and I totally agree. I stumbled into this lovely home after finding the location through Yelp and assuming that they had a tasting room you can just walk into and buy some wine. Danielle was incredibly friendly and helpful and gave me two tastes of their white wine so I can decide which one to get. My kids and husband were waiting in the car during this entire process and she quickly helped me out so I could run back outside to my family. The wine is great and I will definitely make an appointment for a wine tasting soon.

Yelp
Came here on a company offsite and had the best experience! They do an amazing tour of the property (it's the oldest standing adobe house in California) and garden prior to the tasting. The host was super engaging and shared a lot of tasting knowledge. The wine is delicious and around $50-90/bottle if I recall correctly. Would recommend!
google avatar

Tina O.

Yelp
I highly recommend this experience - it was perfect! Thanks to our host, Ben, for his education and taking such good care of us. The history of the building is very interesting and the wines are fantastic! We tasted 2 of their chardonnay's and two pinot noirs - we love having the seated tasting done as a side-by-side. We all loved their wines so much we went home with several and will be back for more! Make sure you do this!

Yelp
Three Sticks is one of those places where I want to take all my friends and family to because they're so amazing but I also want to keep it as my little secret because I'm afraid the place might lose its charm if it gets too popular. While I still love Napa, it's definitely gotten a lot more commercialized and touristy over the years so we've been looking for a new place to call it our new home base..and this is it! Three Sticks has everything I was looking for in a club membership: phenomenal wine, people, and venue. I don't need to go into depth about how delicious their wine is because they're worth every penny. I've been there twice already and omg the PEOPLE! Julia, Julie, and Kathy were all so welcoming, friendly, and knowledgeable - making us feel right at home, and going above and beyond to make our experience so special and memorable. We also loved hearing their stories and perspectives. We are very grateful to have found this little gem and so exicted to try their next release!

Yelp
Beautiful 1920s home We tasted two Chardonnays two Pinot Noirs and a Cabernet which were all fantastic the pairing from El Dorado kitchen was spot on for $85 I would go back every week I could I can't wait to bring my people here it's goningbe a great experience Steve was the host with the most and loves what he does and he does it well thanks for having us can't wait to come back

Yelp
What a great experience touring the Adobe at three sticks! The beauty of the artistic design was only surpassed by the delicious Chardonnay and Pinot noir offerings. Adobe hosts Ben Draper and Zoe Colasco , made our tasting worthy of five stars. I will totally recommend this wonderful winery to all of my friends and coworkers. Cheers to three sticks. Sue Rees
google avatar

Yelp
Incredibly delicious wines and wonderful tasting experience! We greatly enjoyed our host Shannon who was extremely knowledgeable about each wine and fun to talk to - she loves her job! She even recommended a delicious Mexican spot for Lunch that we loved - El Molino. We bought three bottles after our tasting and can't wait to enjoy them at home. The Adobe was something special and their outside patio was beautiful. A hidden gem in Sonoma! I would highly recommend anyone stop here if they're visiting the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a private birthday tasting. Felt honored, humbled and well cared for by the staff. The wine was so well made. If Chardonnay and Pinot's are your "Jam". Then spread out and enjoy. Thank you Three Sticks for making my day so enjoyable.
google avatar

Dorothy S.

Yelp
Ridiculously arrogant - not what Sonoma was, perhaps what it has become. Empty rooms It would be amazing if the people here were interesting/compelling. Perhaps their wine is good?
google avatar

Jenn L.

Yelp
We had a wonderful private tasting at three sticks. Our hostess Zoe was super knowledgeable and friendly! The perfectly decorated historic building is the perfect setting at this tasting room. Definitely recommend this place.
google avatar

Yelp
A few friends and I went to Three Sticks for a tasting in their gorgeous courtyard area. Most visitors to wine country always want to taste right next to wineries and vines BUT the Three Sticks location on the Sonoma Square is absolutely perfect to relax and enjoy their stunning wines. I had tried their wines before and knew they were lovely, but my friends were blown away. What really made the experience perfect was Zoe. She was approachable, knowledgable, and we all agreed she was our favorite wine educator of the trip. You must ask for her when you go!!!!
google avatar

Tom S.

Yelp
Hidden in plain sight location. Right off the town square. No signage. Lovingly restored adobe. Pretty place to visit. Tasty wines. I'm on the allocation list. No wine club membership. Bottle prices are premium (aka: expensive). Wine tasting strictly by appointment only. If you just show up you will not even be allowed to enter the front door. Even when I pick up my allocation by telephoning ahead to agree on an arrival time, I am not invited to walk more than 3 feet into the front room. Weird but true. If you are a far flung visitor who just dabbles in wine tasting, is this wine room worth the effort to make an appointment? You decide. There are dozens of other wine tasting rooms in Sonoma that will welcome you with open arms without an appointment.

Yelp
We did a wine and food tasting at Three Sticks Wines and it was an incredible experience! It was easy to book online and they are so incredibly kind, accommodating and quick to respond to help you have your best stay in Sonoma and best visit to their establishment. We paid $85/person to taste 2 Chardonnays, 2 Pinot Noirs, and 1 special Cab. The food are small bites that come from El Dorado Kitchen and are delicious and pair with the wine perfectly! Honestly, I ate at EDK and the food from the pairing at Three Sticks was much better, but keep in mind it's small bites and you could certainly move on to another tasting room (I recommend Lake Sonoma right down the alley) and get another glass and a cheese/charcuterie plate for a more full lunch type experience :) The Three Sticks property is beautiful and the wines are wonderful. I ordered 4 bottles which they agreed to ship to my house. Love the ambiance and the service. Thank you Three Sticks!

Yelp
Wow! Quite honestly the best wine line up ever. Lovely outdoor setting, fantastic & knowledgeable hosts - we had Zoë (and her lead, Ben, came out and shared some great information as well - both were wonderfully kind & professional). Loved nearly every single wine we tasted (extremely rare, as we taste a LOT of wine on a regular basis) - so much so that both my husband and I & our friends joined the club. The atmosphere is charming, the hosts were just exceptional (cheers to Zoë [& Ben]) and the setting was perfect for an afternoon of wine tasting and great Three Sticks education (bonus: cute little cheese pairing plate, too). GO! This is THE downtown Sonoma tasting room you will NOT want to miss! Three Sticks is an outstanding tasting experience: 5 SOLID Stars!!

Leah T.

Yelp
Stopped by today and Becky was amazing. We were planning to buy wine to bring home and she was so hospitable we ended up sampling wine, buying wine to take to the house, and all signed up for the membership.

Yelp
Pinot, Cabernet... Ken Fulk adobe styling! Appointment only.
google avatar

Chris S.

Yelp
Great setting in which to taste well crafted Burgundy varietals and others, with friendly, extremely hospitable staff. Appointment is needed and once you do a tasting, you'll know why. Very highly recommended.

Diane B.

Yelp
Wonderful afternoon at The Adobe!Three Sticks is in such an intimate venue with greenery and seating. Our tasting host was Nina The wine tasting was accompanied by food pairings. The white cheddar and salumi was very flavorful with all five of the wines. The French Oak gave the Chardonnay great character. We really enjoyed the Russian River and Pinot. Honestly, the spirit bottled Castaneda Rose was refreshing and fun. A fabulous way to spend our Anniversary. Thank you Three Sticks for a delightful afternoon of wine and celebration!

Angie G.

Yelp
You need a reservation and you can either can call or submit a info request thru the website. The winery is an an old adobe building right in the square. Our tasting was just us which made it feel like we were invited in to someone's home. Short tour of the property which was nice. Three sticks produces Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. We tasted 2 of each and all were excellent. This is a small batch producer that makes excellent wine. I'd highly recommend tasting here as it's an unique experience compared to other places and the wine is very good.
google avatar

G K.

Yelp
We had the most amazing wine tasting here. We had the pleasure of meeting the wine maker Don and listening to his philosophy and approach to his wines. You can feel his passion and so much knowledge in his 40+ yrs of wine making experience. Wine staff Bonnie and Steve were also very accommodating. We just loved touring their wine making facility seeing where the magic begins. I love their Pinots, but after today's experience; I have so much more respect for their wines. I highly recommend their wines.

D B.

Yelp
Great wines and even greater people! We had a mixup due to our hotel not completing our booking for a vineyard tour and lunch/wine tasting, and the Three Sticks folks went out of their way to make up for that disappointment, even though it was not their fault. They offered us a tour for the next day, accommodated us for a tasting at their adobe house in town with a lovely cheese plate, and even assisted with booking at another winery later that afternoon. Every person we met was so kind, it truly turned an unfortunate start into a wonderful two days.
google avatar

Brock G.

Yelp
Talk about wonderfully accommodating. As a recent transplant, rookie local, to Sonoma the staff has been tremendous. It's a great place right off of the square to sit back and relax, kick up your feet, and have a good bottle of vino with a friend. I didn't do an official tasting, but rather an informal "bottle in the garden", and the experience couldn't have been better. I'm a really big fan and convert to everything Riedel (glassware) and the fact that my California Pinot was poured into a Riedel "New World Pinot" glass made quite the first impression. It means a lot that a tasting room would spend $30 + a stem (not to mention the water glass was Riedel as well) to serve their wine. The fact that the purveyor wants to demonstrate their wines in the most positive way possible speak tomes to the professionalism of the organization. Whomever made this decision, it was well worth the attention to detail. Thank you. The physical space itself was obviously restored with the most upmost care and attention to detail. It's nice to see that someone has taken so much pride in their first impression and wants to make sure, we as patrons, keep coming back for more. You've got a loyal follower and proponent. Many applauds to the staff. You're doing a great job. Don't change a thing. What you're doing is absolutely working.
google avatar

Vicki L.

Yelp
This is a must do! Uniquely decorated adobe. Beautiful patio space. Awesome wines - both the reds (Pinot Noirs) and whites (Chard). Friendly, fun and professional service.

Yelp
After starting the day at Donum and Patz and Hall we felt a little disappointed with Sonoma so far. Would this be the third strike? No way!! This was by far one of the best and most memorable tastings of the trip! You can easily walk right by the tasting room if you aren't looking. There are no huge signs and its appointment only. It is an adorable adobe house but once inside, the interior will blow you away. Our lovely guide Tanya greeted us with a wonderful glass of red wine that we later ended up buying. We shared our tasting with another couple who was celebrating their 40th anniversary and they were so much fun!! The five of us had a blast! I'm so grateful we had a wonderful host and fun people to share the experience with. All of the wines were fantastic!! This is hands down, one of the best experiences in Sonoma! The attention to detail, the interior, the garden and of course the quality of the wines. My boyfriend actually can't drink white wine because it gives him a headache, but he actually contemplated buying the Chardonnay. That's saying a lot! We ended up buying two Pinots and the Syrah. We will definitely be back to this wonderful hidden gem! Tanya was the absolute best!!!
google avatar

Christa C.

Yelp
We had a wonderful visit to this tasting room on our first pm in Sonoma. We showed up on the recommendation of a local friend who works in the wine industry, but we did NOT have a reservation, since we got to town earlier than planned. Well, they couldn't fit us in for a tasting, so we were ready to walk away disappointed, but completely understanding of course. Well, they went above and beyond to accommodate us with a private tasting experience out by the gorgeous fire pit area. We had such a fabulous time with our sweet and informative hostess. I'm embarrassed that I'm blanking on her name, but she's an Oregon native and U of Michigan alum (go blue) and was wonderful! We ordered some great wines to be shipped home and bought a bottle for the hotel. Thanks, Three Sticks!
google avatar

Joan C.

Yelp
Kate is a rockstar. We absolutely LOVED our tasting. They have a chardonnay here that won me over...AND I ABSOLUTELY HATE EVERY SINGLE CHARDONNAY I'VE EVER TASTED! Their cabernet is also a fantastic deal at $75. (Go Buckeyes!)
google avatar

Angela W.

Yelp
Beautiful, unique, historical spot near the Sonoma Square... We did the food and wine paring - food came from El Dorado Kitchen and they prepared a vegetarian selection at our request. Each of the 5 food and wine samplings were special. We loved the hospitality and knowledge Colette imparted through our experience. We would recommend this for our friends and we will stop back into Three Sticks when we are next in the area!

Christian W.

Yelp
Lovely wine tasting experience when we recently visited their Adobe house in Sonoma. Very knowledgeable and helpful staff.
google avatar

Samantha Y.

Yelp
The gaps crown Chardonnay is so good, but Manager Maggie is the reason for the 5 stars. She's so great. Best customer service I've experienced in a long time. :)

Sherry M.

Yelp
Bad customer service/signage....nothing on the building states "requires an appointment". We were referred from our wine club winery and were told hopefully you can come back another time in a snide way. Needless to say we will not be back. To many places around who would be glad to have our business and not have a pompous attitude.
google avatar

Matt T.

Yelp
I had a delightful experience at Three Sticks. I was able to schedule a private tasting at the last minute due to a cancellation and couldn't be more thrilled with the service I received. Tricia was an amazing host who educated me on the history of the house, the Three Sticks vineyard and the types of wine that they make. I was able to taste 4 of their wines and ended up buying two bottles because they were SO good. I would highly recommend this tasting. You won't regret it.
google avatar

Liz C.

Yelp
While the wine at Three Sticks is in itself world class, the experience at the tasting room was made most memorable by Patrick (asst manager). His description of the wine, property, and family created a one-of-a-kind tasting in a garden of fountains, topiaries, and lore. Reserve a tasting. You will not regret it.
google avatar

Nicole R.

Yelp
While the tasting fee is steep, the wines are really too good to pass up. We liked it so much we got on the wine list. I always enjoy seeing my wines show up on my doorstep, and our friends always rave about the pinots and chardonnays when we open a bottle for them.

Mike M.

Yelp
This is a fantastic small winery. Steve was a great host and provided an excellent tour of the Adobe house. This is not where the wine is made but the main office. The grounds are small, intimate and true to the origins. If you want to stay away from the big labels and enjoy some fantastic wines and learn a little history, you have to go. It is walking distance to the square in Sonoma. The wines were mid level in pricing $45 to 90 and many were already sold out. They do have a wine club but don't push it like other wineries. Taste for us was comparable to wines costing more. Really enjoyed their cab but the Pinot noir were excellent.

Pam L.

Yelp
Loved it! People were great and so was the wine. A must visit if you are in Sonoma. Wines are complex and so smooth.
google avatar

Andrew C.

Yelp
Great wines with a beautiful venue at the Adobe and a wonderful staff to boot! We had a great wine and food pairing with their wine maker. Highly recommend making a reservation here while in Sonoma Wine Country!
google avatar

Sarah V.

Yelp
Wonderful wines in an historic adobe home. We loved everything we tasted, enjoyed the local history lesson and... joined the wine club!

Katie D.

Yelp
We visited Three Sticks while on vacation in Sonoma and it was amazing! From Tricia helping us with our reservation to Steve, who hosted our tasting, everything was perfect! Steve was awesome!!! Very knowledgeable!! The wines are all so delicious that we purchased several bottles and joined the wine club!! Thank you for making our experience so wonderful!!
