Tropical themed bar with live DJs, dancing, and games

"Beach parties aren’t in your near future—not even an early spring getaway—but at Throw Social you can swap your gray sweatpants for short shorts under a cabana. Different DJs spin on weeknights and most of the day on weekends, making it the spot to dance your blues away. Pull up to the bar to grab sugary cocktails that will likely taste better than the watered-down all-inclusive resort drinks your friends keep bragging about. When you need a break from the dance floor and the bar, there are games like giant Connect Four and shuffleboard scattered around the astroturf. You might not be able to beat your friends at winter, but you can still kick their asses in cornhole—and not let them forget about it all night long." - omnia saed, tristiana hinton
"Adulting is hard. That beach vacation you thought you were going on is no longer in your budget, but Throw Social is. So toss on the hoochie daddies and some boat shoes and head to the Ivy City bar and lounge where you and the squad can toe the line between beach party and nightclub. Head to the second floor (there’s an elevator but it’s frequently broken so be prepared to climb) where you’ll find games like shuffleboard, giant Connect 4, and Cornhole, plus three bars, a covered patio, and a bunch of cabanas. The menu is very basic bar food—think pizza, nachos, and sliders—and while it's bland at best, the vibe is worth sacrificing a little food quality (especially if you’re going to be turnt). If you really wanna ratchet things up a notch, go on the weekends when there’s a live DJ playing any rap, R&B, or reggaeton song that’ll get you dancing." - tristiana hinton

"Axe-throwing, ping pong, shuffleboard, corn hole, giant Jenga, and more activities abound at this Ivy City rooftop hangout, with a liquid menu full of tropical options like a Blue Hawaiian and Painkiller." - Claudia Rosenbaum
"It’s not quite Dream or Love, but Throw Social does its part to bring the life back to the Ivy City party scene, albeit in a very different way. The space feels like an indoor lawn party, with giant Connect4 and shuffleboard games surrounded by cabanas where you can hang out with a group. There are also smaller high tops scattered around the area, plus a patio with a second bar and cornhole. Come late night on the weekends if you want to hear a DJ. And while they have a full menu, the bland pizza and overly-sweet chicken sliders feel like you’re just supposed to use it to soak up alcohol or feed your very picky five-year-old nephew." - Tristiaña Hinton

"Watch the Kentucky Derby on a 20-foot screen while sipping $13 mint juleps. THRōW Social’s rooftop bar and patio will also be open for patrons." - Vinciane Ngomsi
