The 20 Best Restaurants In San Juan, Puerto Rico - San Juan - The Infatuation

"This small, homey Mediterranean restaurant is where to show up with a few friends and have a chill lunch or dinner. The menu is short and you’ll want to share a little bit of everything, but zero in on the excellent baba ganoush with homemade pita, cauliflower wings, lamb kofta, and watermelon sangria. Tía Dora is pretty easy to miss (it’s right across from the entrance of Ocean Park), so look for the black building with plants on the wall and a mural depicting a turtle—it’s hidden right to the side." - adriana silva, tiffany yannetta, mariana trabanino

The 26 Best Restaurants in San Juan, Puerto Rico | Eater

"After an inspiring month-long trip to Israel, chef Rául Correa opened Tía Dora alongside longtime friend and sous chef, Juan Lebrón. The duo plate up Mediterranean-inspired dishes that are a pleasant addition to San Juan’s dining scene. Dishes are meant to be shared. Start with any of the spectacular mezze, including labneh with confit tomatoes, followed by lamb kebab, pasta with local mushrooms and coconut ragu, and salmon with chermoula. Located in Ocean Park, Tía Dora is a great post-beach option." - Paulina Salach Antonetti

I had a wonderful dining experience at this restaurant! The pita bread paired with hummus was absolutely delicious—fresh, fluffy, and perfect for scooping up the rich, flavorful hummus. The pork dish was another highlight; it was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender, and just melted in the mouth. I truly enjoyed every aspect of my meal here. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for quality dishes in a welcoming atmosphere!

I went in the last 10 minutes in the staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The pita bread was freshly made, and the cauliflower wings are a must. The hummus is phenomenal too, and this is coming from a Palestinian!! Extremely friends staff

We love Mediterranean food and wanted to try something different while in SJ. The food was excellent!!! Different from most Mediterranean in that they are more chef prepared type dishes. With that said the flavors are spectacular, but the servings are a little smaller than the typical Mediterranean restaurant. The flavors make up for the serving sizes. The bacon wrapped dates were spectacular! We ordered the cabbage and brisket since they were out of the lamb lasagna. With our group we order just about everything on the menu and nothing disappointed.

Google
A great upscale Mediterranean restaurant with amazing food and ambience. The staff is very friendly and the service is pretty quick. Make sure you reserve your table online or via call so that you don't have to wait for a while. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy a very different style of Mediterranean cuisine.

If you enjoy quality Mediterranean food then Tia Dora is the restaurant for you. Amazing food at a reasonable price. With friendly staff and a nice cozy atmosphere this is a great location for dinner. I had the lamb kebab with risotto as a main with a starter of felafel and breads with hummus, it was all great and the lamb was particularly delicious.

Very hot dining room. Chicken was raw, no excuse for raw chicken. Falafel was good.

Google
We ordered hummus, lamb lasagna and Moroccan chicken. The hummus only came with one pita which is just ridiculous but the hummus itself was decent (I am Israeli so my standard for hummus is high). Charging $3.25 for an extra pita is just bad business. The rest of the food was good but not crazy. The Moroccan chicken was good but lacked some salt but the portion was big. The service was good and overall the atmosphere and experience was good. Would recommend.

Yelp
Awesome vegan-friendly spot! We were only hungry for a snack, so we got a platter of 3 mezze (babaganoush, pumpkin hummus, and regular hummus). All three were great although the star of the show was the homemade whole wheat pita. Insanely fresh. Fluffy and pillowy on the inside and crusty and crunchy on the outside. Loved it.

Yelp
Folks outside were acting a little sketch, but the place and food was amazing. They are not too attentive, so keep that in mind.

Yelp
If you're looking for a dining experience that feels like a warm hug, look no further than this hidden gem. Nestled in a cozy nook, this restaurant offers an intimate atmosphere that's perfect for a relaxed night out. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with friendly smiles and service that was attentive without being overbearing - a balance that's hard to find! Now, let's get to the star of the show - the food. OH MY GOODNESS, where do I begin? We kicked off our culinary adventure with the cauliflower wings, and let me tell you, they were a flavor explosion! Imagine a slightly sweet hint paired with a gentle spicy kick that's just right for any palate. It was love at first bite. Next up were the hummus, baba ghanoush, muhammara, and pita. Each dip was a delight, bursting with fresh, vibrant flavors that transported us straight to the Mediterranean. And just when we thought it couldn't get any better, the crispy baby potatoes arrived. Perfectly seasoned and cooked to a golden crisp, they were the ultimate comfort food. This place is a treasure trove of deliciousness, and it's clear that every dish is crafted with love and care. If you're searching for a spot that combines great food, wonderful service, and a charming ambiance, this is it. Do yourself a favor and check it out - your taste buds will thank you!

Yelp
Excellent Mediterranean spot in the area! We had the baba ganoush( tasty, smooth and creamy ) salmon (perfectly cooked) and the mushroom bolognese which was surprisingly good for a meatless dish and everything was spot on. Will definitely visit again and try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
Wow...cannot say enough about this restaurant! From the mezzes to the dinner everything was exceptional. We had the hummus, cauliflower, and dates. It came with homemade pita that was so fluffy. The dinners were so flavorful each was accompanied by an amazing rice. I have never had such wonderful rice. And a shout out for our service as well!

Yelp
A small delightful restaurant! The seating space is up a narrow staircase (glad we didn't bring the stroller) and the restrooms are downstairs. But we had the place to ourselves for most of dinner. We got a bottle of wine, the lamb lasagna, and the Moroccan spice chicken. The food was delicious! So flavorful and unique. Service was very quick and friendly. A must try!

Yelp
Visiting San Juan from NYC, and staying in the Ocean Park neighborhood, my girlfriend and I decided to gamble on Tia Dora, not expecting much of the Mediterranean food there. Boy, were we pleasantly surprised. I can honestly say this was the best Mediterranean meal I've had anywhere, with great cocktails and desserts, and the service was excellent as well. We loved it so much that we went back the next night!

Yelp
Ammmmmazing food and great service! Can't wait to come back. Here's a pic of the guava baklava (incredible). Salmon dish is some of the best I've ever had--ate it too quickly to take a pic!

Yelp
I had an incredible birthday experience last night at Tia Dora! Delicious food, very friendly service and a cute interior. We really enjoyed the mezze platter with fresh, warm pita bread, hummus, labneh and muhammarra. The baklava dessert with ice cream was amazing as well! I highly recommend this restaurant!
