"Tía Dora is a small, homey Mediterranean restaurant that’s right across from the entrance of Ocean Park. Show up with a few friends and plan to share a little bit of everything—the baba ganoush with homemade pita, cauliflower wings, lamb kofta, and watermelon sangria are all excellent choices. Tia Dora is pretty easy to miss, so look for the black building with plants on the wall and a mural depicting a turtle—it’s hidden right to the side." - Adriana Silva

Google
Their empanadas are to die for, my favorite is the guayaba one. I stop for one every time I’m in the area. Their tamales are also delicious and made daily.

Linda

Google
I absolutely loved the Tamales! I drove 30 min to check this place out, im glad i did. I like the bread to a little pricey but still good. I need to try the other tamales too. They are so nice I called to make sure that they saved me a dozen. So awesome 👌.

Google
Weekends always is full, you have to wait between 20 to 30 min to get a table, the food is delicious & service is excellent.!! Definitely you are going to find something delicious in the menu, for kid's or adults.. $$ 10-20 a plate. But be aware, they charge "extra" for paying with a card... even if you pay in cash 🥴☹😡

After visiting and purchasing from here for a 3rd time. I can say the quality and service is consistent. Best pan dolce I have had in a long time. The Conchas are to die for. The pigs 🐖 are also one of my favorite. They have a good selection of pan available. Lines move quickly. And the staff is very polite. The Conchas here are always perfect , they regularly bring out fresh batches of everything.

Google
Walked in to purchase some sweet bread (Pan Dulce),the sweet bread size is worth the price and they are not expensive, fresh, delicious, and variety to select from. We also purchased the pork tamales and they were huge, great flavor and decent price. My first time coming in to the bakery and will be back soon.

Google
My bad experience is primarily because everytime I come here, they dont have the bread I usually buy. I sometimes drive 25 minutes each way just to buy their stuff, yet they dont have it, when I ask the people how long, they either say they dont know, or HALF A DAY??? I just dont think this is a professional business, how do you run out the main reason why people come to this place? Is ridiculous and today was my last time coming here.

Google
The bread selection has changed. Not what it use to be.The menudo is greasy and the meat they use is not the honeycomb. Nothing but cheap pieces of greasy meat. THE ONLY GOOD THING THERE ARE THE TAMALES

Google
Excellent service, food and atmosphere. It is probably one of my favorite Mexican restaurants in Dallas. It actually reminds me of the Frida house in Mexico. Their tacos are really good and we love their hand made tortillas. Also, their "café de olla" is amazing.

John K.

Yelp
Best tamales hands down !!! Service is Quik get there early. They do sell out sometimes

Emi R.

Yelp
Tia Dora's is the best! Their tamales are so good, especially the chicken ones--they're packed with flavor. Their bread is also amazing, always fresh and delicious. If you're looking for authentic and tasty food, this is the spot to go!

Ismael G.

Yelp
The line is big but they should have a separate line for online orders, when you walk in you don't even know where the line starts last time I come here

Patricia P.

Yelp
Best tamales ever plenty of meat no thick masa love love them need delivery service try them

Julianna Belle D.

Yelp
this place did us so dirty when trying to order tamales for Christmas. We have been calling the day after Thanksgiving and they kept pushing the date for ordering and when we called the day they told us they werent taking anymore orders. Their service is shit

Jonathan T.

Yelp
Food Is Great Service Is Beginning To Be Very Sub Par I've Called Them 17 Times This Morning With No Answers. Also Left A Message On FB To Order And No Response. I Literally Drive 35 Mins Just To Get Their Tamales

H T.

Yelp
I tried menudo , pork tamales , and pan dulce!! The best and biggest tamales !! And that pan dulce ( the round ones , the usual ones) they had the best flavor like a bit cinnamon and another wonderful spice. X-large tamales with lots of pork ! And great menudo

Kelly S.

Yelp
I'm new to the neighborhood and had to check this place out! Ive never been to a Mexican bakery and will definitely have to try more things! Everything was great!

Cubby B.

Yelp
Great red pork tamales! Don't know why my review need 85 characters, short and sweet is the way for a good review.

Linda S.

Yelp
If your looking for good tamales you need to check this place out. There fat and have plenty of meat. I need to try the other flavors. The breads are good tooo. I wil be back even if i have to drive 30 min.

Gus B.

Yelp
The pan dulce was very good. The Tamales were also very tasty all my Familia enjoyed them.

Blanca O.

Yelp
Freshly baked, authentic Mexican sweet bread. Super delicious! Also able to purchase tamales here and they are a good serving size.

Alison S.

Yelp
My favorite thing to purchase from Tia Dora is their tamales. When we can't purchase tamales from Someone who makes them from their home this is the place we go. Our favorite is pork. They are typically order ahead at least one day. I highly recommend.

Maria G.

Yelp
Tia Dora's was an excellent place to go buy mexican bread but two years ago it has gone downhill. I can go in the morning or at noon and they never seem to have any bread to sell, all they have are these rock looking cookies. This place needs really good management that will be on top of everything and keep customers happy buy actually having something to sell instead of the rock looking cookies . I hate to say it but I will no longer drive 30 minutes to this bakery if they never have anything. This bakery really SUCKS now!.

Rick C.

Yelp
Great tamales here and the salsa is on point as well, sometimes it's worth the drive to get an authentic item or meal,so I do recommend this spot

Jessica M.

Yelp
Great tasting food, and fresh bakery! Their COVID procedures make you feel very safe. Always enjoy coming here. :)

Anna P.

Yelp
I hadn't been to this Tia Dora's location since they moved awhile back. Anyways its Feb 4th, 2019 I called & got pricing on a big order (50-100) of Pan Dulce lets say las Conchas...I needed this for a funeral gathering today. Anyways, they wont take any orders this big & blah, blah, blah, blah. I asked to speak to manager she wasn't there...how convienent! Ok, your loss! How crazy that a big order is a great guaranteed sale for the day. But, anyways instead you guys would rather turn Business away...its,Cool I called over to Del Norte Bakery on Ft. Worth Avenue spoke with la senora Lucy & she gladly took my order with no hesitations & could have it ready for me by 11am. I will never come visit this panaderia! YOUR BUSINESS IS BROUGHT TO YOU BY THE CUSTOMER. IF IT WEREN'T FOR CUSTOMERS YOU WOULD NOT BE THERE...REMEMBER THAT°

Adam B.

Yelp
The BEST tamales. Did I mention the best? Out of this world. Also picked up these things called conches. 10/10 will be back for more. Handmade high quality.

Norma A.

Yelp
Just went and spent almost $80 and the guy at the counter had the funkiest attitude ever. Didn't even smile not one time. Customer service was bad.

Gianna M.

Yelp
Ok so I wrote a good review three months ago when I purchased tamales from this place and recently decided that I wanted to get some more so I went by the bakery around 1 PM and they did not have any tamales. They told me they would have a new batch at 2 PM and when I called to ask if they were ready, I was told they didn't have any more for the day. One week later I called ahead of time to make sure they had them available before I drove 30 minutes to get them and I was told that they did not have any. This place is losing out on so much business by not having enough tamales ready for people to buy. It's getting very cold outside and this is the perfect weather for them to make extra tamales. I will try one more time and if I am not able to get any again, I will look for a new place to buy tamales.

Kathryn N.

Yelp
I've tried the breakfasts, pan dulce and the amazing tamales. I haven't found more authentic or delicious Mexican cuisine in Dallas!

Roberto M.

Yelp
Due to changes took more than 30mins to give me my order. They should give the customer the position to choose to purchase or go somewhere else.

Nancy G.

Yelp
Only thing I have tried here are the tamales and THEY ARE SOOOOO GOOOODDD! I would shut down the place and just reopen and sell only tamales. Wow! They are big and full of meat! My mouth is watering as I'm typing this! The only downside is that you have to get there super early to get some because they run out!

Crystal M.

Yelp
Pick up the phone please, it doesn't matter how many times you call they will never pick it up. I don't live in Dallas reason I call and see if they have tamales since they run out all the time.

Ana A.

Yelp
Best breakfast tacos, knocked down "taco pronto" on Harry Hines will come here again. But small and crowded

Fenise P.

Yelp
This place has pan dulce for days..... it's got a very good selection. Staff was friendly and helpful. We will be return everything taste soooooo good..

Gary M.

Yelp
The breakfast menu and pastry options are expensive, but what you get what you paid for: authentic Mexican food and freshly made bread. The atmosphere is easygoing and service is generally fast (unless you go in the morning). By the way, the barbacoa with flour tortilla tacos are huge! Well worth the 2.70 price tag.

Bonnie T.

Yelp
Hope the tamales get a one star. I got in line at 6:45 am, so maybe I deserve crappy treatment. There were a dozen people ahead of me. I am Anglo, all others Hispanic. I was "allowed" to buy one dozen pork tamales. Others behind me, were giving her orders out loud and she was making notes and counting. The lady ahead of me got three dozen. I bought these as a gift. Stood in line as I was instructed the night before. Didn't argue, kept smiling, but this is a bit odd. Would not recommend this to anyone. Although I moved back to Oak Cliff for the multi- cultural life, there are other tamale options. Stay away if you don't "look" Hispanic, at least for the traditional Christmas tamale rush. Lol

Addie Y.

Yelp
I've been sleeping on this place! Sooooo good! Food and pan dulce hit the spot. I have to go back and try their tamales!

Connie N.

Yelp
Disappointed this morning after finding huge pieces of eggshells in my breakfast taquito. :-(

Rutita L.

Yelp
This is our favorite weekend spot! We always keep some bread at home and all my family loves it. Every time I travel to see my sisters in Arizona and Louisiana they ask me to bring them some bread from this place. Very authentic, always fresh bread

Adrienne Q.

Yelp
This place may be located in a different part of town than people from the Northern side may be used to but it is worth the trip. The staff is helpful, and they have the best tamales I've had in years- chicken or pork; you can't go wrong! I look forward to going back soon.

Brad T.

Yelp
I was so excited to see them on Uber Eats now since ever time I go in there they seemed annoyed at me and it takes forever to get an order out. I ordered food this morning on Uber eats. The estimated arrival time kept getting pushed back. After an hour and a half I went to cancel order and found out they hadn't even started on my order! Worthless! Worst customer service ever. The foods ok but not worth dealing with their total incompetence.

Michael S.

Yelp
I picked up a dozen pork tamales, a dozen chicken tamales, and three pastries. All were excellent. I'll definitely be going back. (I'll just be buying smaller portions, as the tamales are pretty big!) They had a few tables, but it seemed like most people were getting food to go.

Janie G.

Yelp
Excellent breakfast tacos and pan dulce!!! The pumpkin empanadas are my favorite, Decon the cheese cuernitos . Barbacoa , machacado, and bacon egg and cheese tacos are awesome ! Menudo is good too !

Starla W.

Yelp
Heard about this place by word of mouth and I really like it. The breakfast tacos are amazing. The tortillas are so authentic. For the price you really can't beat it! Cant wait to try the chicken tortilla soup and enchiladas. I mainly go for breakfast.

Bonnie R.

Yelp
It also comes in chocolate! This place has pastries galore and so far I've liked most things. When you go in, you grab a tray and tongs and head for the display cases. The yellow cake with pink icing is really good, too - unfortunately it disappeared on the way home do there is no picture of it.

Rikii M.

Yelp
Recently moved to Oak Cliff and went here for sweet bread. It's Delicious. I took a menu home for future reference and I was Intrigued to buy tamales... I've had my fair share of "okay" tamales so I'm iffy about finding new places. Well I was NOT disappointed one bit, these tamales are AMAZING! From the soft corn that tastes great to the filling inside. I had the bean and chile ones since I'm a vegetarian. If these taste this good I'm sure you won't be disappointed in the rest. They are above average in size as well I was full with just two but I still ate 4 haha. And I bought a dozen. The staff is super friendly the gentleman that attended me was extremely nice. Really good place Togo to if you're in the area. Make a stop!

Heather G.

Yelp
Stupid people I swear!! Made an order for Tamales at 7:18 am, 18 minutes after they opened. I specifically told them to hold the 2 dozen for me. Then when I get there they say they won't be ready until 12:30 in the afternoon. Damn you couldn't tell me that over the phone before I took the long ass drive out there. Ughh

Chantel P.

Yelp
I love this place..The tamales are EXCELLENT! I would highly recommend. Also, you can call and order ahead to as sure they do not sell out of whatever it is you are looking for.

Maggie H.

Yelp
tia doras is my go to for my pan dulce cravings and amazing tamales! its always so clean when i go!

Ashley E.

Yelp
Very good food, the customer service very's here it just depending on who you get. But it's still worth going because the food is very good.

Julia B.

Yelp
Best breakfast tacos in Dallas! I highly recommend the chorizo and egg tacos. Make sure to call ahead and order before arrival.

Daniel S.

Yelp
The bread is very delicious. I've been to a couple bakeries and this one has pretty good quality pastries. Personal favorite are the conchas. Would definitely recommend to someone in the mood for some bread or tamales. I've only had the bread and the tamales but the other stuff looks good as well. Also the people working there are very nice. Very nice customer service.

Ryan N.

Yelp
The flavors here are fantastic! The pastry shelves are self service as you wait for a few minutes to order food. My wife loves the Huevos Divorciados and I've enjoyed just about everything else on the breakfast menu. It is an excellent place to sit down for breakfast, or just pop in for a few pastries.

Ben E.

Yelp
A bakery like you're grandmother used to go to. Ever since I was a little kid I remember my mom giving me some hot chocolate or milk with some Mexican sweet bread from Tia Dora's. Located deep in Cockrell Hill, in one of the few original buildings left in Cockrell Hill. This small unasuming place serves up great tasting bread! Parking is a bit tricky as they only have a few spots in a tiny parking lot on the side. They make their bread fresh everyday and when you try it you can really taste it! Break the bank? Nope! Get there early and you will see them putting the bread out fresh from the oven! This isn't some fancy poser bakery, and their prices reflect it. Just don't think that cheap prices mean an inferior bread, quite the contrary. I like to grab a sack and fill it up with goodies like conchas, marranitos, and empanadas. Try their tamales too! Se vende como pan caliente!

Mary v.

Yelp
Tia Dora's has a great selection of pan dulce. I have not tried their breakfast or any of their menu food for that matter. When I was ready to pay for my pan dulce, the guy at the register dropped one of my sweets on the countertop (not the tray), he picked it up and was about to put it in the bag when, I said "Are you seriously going to put that in my bag after you dropped it?" He looked at me lost and said " no, I'm sorry... you can get another one". Personally, I don't think that was good business. I had my purse on the countertop and I'm sure other people set their money, etc. on it as well. I was a regular client and have not been back since that incident.

Brian F.

Yelp
A co-worker was always bringing in Tamales from just down the street. They were always great. Even hours later. Cold. "Tia Dora" I kept forgetting where it was and ending up at Gordo's or El Tacaso. I finally wrote it down. It's embarrassingly easy to find. The food is fantastic. The smell is fantastic. The bakery is filled with a large variety of breads, cookies, and other goodies. I ordered a handful of tacos and some tamales and was happy with the price. With more time, I'd have gotten something from the bakery. I should have ordered ahead. Once in the car, I actually got to try the tamales hot. Shockingly, they're better fresh than after sitting in the break room. The tacos are pretty good as well and the sauce is just as good. The tacos were pretty good, but the tamales never made it back to work.

Michelle R.

Yelp
Really good food but the service is horrible. They lose your orders if your not constantly checking if it's ready. Other than that, the bread is really fresh.
