I’ve been Ordering the same thing for +15 yrs now my Torta de milanesa de carne with Salsa Verde and extra on the side. Omg they’re so good and it a big torta and Cemita they’re big too. Definitely will fill you up. Flautas Mixtas is also a favorite. Their aguas frescas are always on point my favorite is Tamarindo 🧡. I Also order their Cafe de Olla. 🤩 & im so happy they have the restaurant because I usually order from the truck but they only take cash for a card you’ll have to order from the Restaurant. Can’t go wrong here!

I decided to give this restaurant five stars because I enjoy coming here and the food is always so delicious. Every time I come here the service is so nice and kind and the atmosphere is amazing and I really love this restaurant.If you consider coming here I hope you enjoy it as much as me.

They sell so much tasty food me and my family like to order cemitas for dinner as they are so good!!! And very big and they fill their cemitas up very well.

Tia Julia is amazing! Have been getting food from here for nearly a decade. The food truck is located on the corner of Roosevelt Avenue and Benham Street. The superstar on their menu is their tortas! I got the breaded chicken torta with chipotle. You can choose either chipotle or jalapeño. The chipotle has a nice kick to it, but I'm not someone who can handle spicy so if you want SPICY I would recommend to go with the jalapeño. The torta comes with a couple pieces of thinly breaded chicken cutlets, generous amount of cubed mozzarella cheese, nicely sliced avocado, chipotle sauce, all on top two buns that have just the right amount of bean spread. One cool thing is that throughout the years their tortas have only increased a dollar. From $7 to $8 which is awesome as we all know inflation is getting out of hand.

Not bad, not bad at all. I live about 30 blocks away but I saw the great reviews and decided to head over. Tried some of their tacos and their Tortas. Absolutely nothing to complain about, taste was quite solid - and the portion sizes of their Tortas are fairly huge. One of those is plenty for a meal. They even have a big-screen TV on the side of their truck, complete with chairs for anyone waiting in line or feeling like eating outside, for your viewing pleasure. If I'm in the area I'll definitely look them up again.

This is my go to spot for tacos in elmhurst. I've been enjoying their chorizo and chicken tacos for years. They're delicious and cooked to order. I will warn you their sauces are hot and I can handle spice.... However that red sauce is lava.

We were waiting to pick up food around the corner so I suggested trying something. L ordered two tacos, steak with potatoes and carnitas. I told L we should just eat it there since cold tacos just don't taste that good. Even with my hair flying all over my face, these tacos were so tasty. Loved the steak and potatoes and the portion of meat was generous and love that it wasn't over seasoned so I added all the sauces on top. The piece of avocado was ripe and was delicious with the taco. The carnitas was really lean so it wasn't my favorite but L had some fattier bits so he said it was really good. 2 tacos was enough to share for a quick lunch. Everything was fresh. The truck was parked right next to Walgreens.

Delicious food with friendly and fast service, with plenty of filling options for vegetarians! I ordered a torta de quesillo and it was an extremely generous portion for only $7, I'll definitely have leftovers. It came with plenty of beans, avocado and quesillo which I'm very happy about because I feel like with a lot of places, it can sometimes be hard to get enough protein with vegetarian options. Ingredients were very fresh! Menu also had plenty of other vegetarian choices! I would definitely ask for more red sauce next time (that's on me for not asking) because it was super tasty. I'm not sure if it had chipotle peppers, but it had a nice smokey flavor, which combined with the shredded quesillo, actually had a very similar taste to meat (in a good way). They also had seating available, which I'm always very appreciative of. Will definitely be coming back here!

I think their lamb barbacoa is something that is truly special, I think it is worth visiting this truck for that one dish alone. The truck is located on 91st and Roosevelt ave on the Southeast corner right next to Walgreens. The food: Barbacoa Platter- I would give this one dish 5 stars. This a weekend only item, it was so freaking delicious I went 5 weeks in a row. I rarely go to a place and order something multiple times yet I visited and ordered the same thing 5 weeks in a row. This dish was perfect, the lamb was so tender with a slight gamey flavor but it was the right amount. I thought the additions from the wedge of, I believe, queso fresco, the tortillas, pico de gallo, slices of avocado and the slightly grilled onions and jalapenos with a side of smoky beans to go with the rice was amazing. They asked if I wanted the green or red version, I picked red because when I think pozole, I think red. Wow was this good, the pozole came with big hunks of pork with a ton of hominy and it came with two flautas on the side. I can't wait to get this again and I would also like to try the green one as well. Cemitas de Carne de Res- Honestly, I first started going here because I heard they were famous for their cemitas and tortas. I thought this was a well made sandwich. I enjoyed the beef cutlet and I loved the queso oaxaca which was like a stringy mozzarella cheese. Everything really worked and I really loved the texture of the bread they used. Guisado de Res- The is was a nice hearty soup, it had nice tender pieces of beef. Overall, it was a good item to get but not the most exciting. Mole Poblano- This was another only weekend item and it was made well. I liked how they use the dark meat only, it came with a thigh in a separate container and a leg in a box over rice. I thought the flavor on this was good but I did wish it had a bit less sweetness but I am not a big sweet in my savory kind of person. Overall, still a solid item.

As one of the more underrated Mexican food trucks in Elmhurst / Corona / Woodside (#1), Tia Julia has enamored their fans with pseudo restaurant quality fare, which is no easy feat from the street. (#2) They have deservedly gotten more attention in the last few years as a dark horse in food truck land and I can't stress my fandom enough. Just some more reasons why they're fantastico: * Many of their servings include dollops of avocado. Not some watered down "guacamole" that some other carts / food trucks might serve. We're talking a nice spoonful portion over sandwiches, tacos, and platters. * Their tacos are quite good, which is never a guarantee despite being ingrained in the name. Need some meat recommendations? Tinga, carnitas, pollo. * As much as their taco game is on point, their cemita / torta game is next level. In fact, they're so good that no one would be mad if they decided to change their name to Tia Julia's Tortas Y Cemitas. The bread is fabulous and they stack their sandwiches with the fixings that it's near impossible to avoid the temptation of getting one. When you do get one, give the milanesa de res a shot. Trust me. * Remember when I wrote that they serve restaurant quality food? Their platters + tlacoyos could easily be served in any restaurant for the same price point ($10). Their ground meats (beef, chicken, chorizo) are also sauteed with potatoes, which are a killer combination with the rice, beans, tortillas, and condiments. On the weekends, they serve a homestyle barbacoa that sometimes commands a line of hungry patrons. * The service is lovely. Super nice people manning the truck and cooking the food. For our gringo friends, the English spoken here is perfectly fine, even if Spanish is always appreciated. * Lastly, finish all of it with a sugary, cinnamon'y horchata. They are absolute garbage stupid idiotic and have no value for customers when an order is wrong they take it out on the customer

First and foremost don't EVER bother to order here. The customer service is horribly disgusting. Clearly they never pay attention to what the customer orders and once you let them know they MAKE IT YOUR FAULT and disrespect you over the phone. Talking about the manager herself who calls you problematic over the phone when she made the mistake when she doesn't know how to take orders. Never will I ever order to be treated so poorly. The management needs to look at who they hire. Take your money and order some where else.

It has been a while since i ate here. I am not going to lie and tell you, i knew the truck was still here in the corner. However, it was a nice surprise to see that it is still part of the DNA of the neighborhood. I order 4 carnita tacos and a chicken torta loaded with everything on it. All this food was $19, where can you get this much food for that price? All i really need now is a table and 2 chairs to eat my food. Well as you figured, since i drive here from Bayside. There was no way i was going to drive back home without eating my food. So you guest it, i was prepared in my car with plates, plastic cutlery and paper towels to have my tacos and torta right here! All i have to say is that i was so hungry, i never took pictures of my food. Enough to tell you that the tacos has so much pork that you need a fork and knife to eat them. The tacos were my appetizer and the torta was my main course. The wife and I shared everything, right down the middle. For sure i will have to come back on sat or sun when they have the weekend specials.

Tia Julia is a legit taco truck with sone of the best tacos and cemitas in NYC. serving locals on Roosevelt Ave this hidden gem flies under the radar. Good thing because the lines are short and the prices fair.

Really disappointed with this place, been ordering here for years! Can't lie food is great which is why I tend to order from Tia Julia tacos truck but there service is absolutely garbage and disrespectful. Main issue I had was my grandfather ordering a delivery to his apartment keep in mind he lives across the street , he had a issue when he order a torta without any chipotles due to him not being to eat spicy cause of medical issues he called them to let them know polity about there mistake they decided to tell him that it wasn't there issue and couldn't resend him a new order and proceeded to block his number . Some way some how they found out we were related and decided to also block my number and my family's which is absolutely absurd cause what had happen with my grandfather had nothing to do with us . Today I order a torta and a taco de chile relleno and a agua they send me my order with a extra Chile relleno en soup on the side when I never said that. I brought out the food that I didn't order back to the delivery guy and he tells me that's what the receipt says and says that the hand writing is the manager keep in mind shes a women when on the phone I spoke to a guy . He ends up calling the manager and he tells her I'm here with the nephew of the guy who complained and proceeds to give her my grandfathers address she tells him only charge him for what they order and we won't be doing any more deliveries to either houses with the most disgusting attitude. Absolutely got me so pissed.They tend to make mistakes and want to blame it on the customer and can't take accountability. Absurd the way she came at us really disappointed with there disgusting service hope they change it before there business goes down hill .

In my personal opinion, Tia Julia Taco Truck (TJTC) is serving up some great tasting tortas out in NYC. The trucks location is only a couple of blocks from the 90-Elmhurst train stop, right next to the Rite-Aide on Roosevelt. The tortas are so great that Me and Tia Julia are having a late night affair two days out the week. Don't judge me until you have tried them. I like the tortas so much that I don't think that I can stop. The tortas (mexican sandwiches) are only $6 bucks. I have yet to explore other items on the menu but I think I might try the tacos next. The chicken torta comes with a couple of generous pieces or breaded chicken cutlets, chunks of cheese, beans, and slices of avocado. The guys on the truck work hard and are very nice people. So if you are in the area - give Tia Julia a try. Gracias Primo por la torta.

This is my #1 Mexican taco truck in Queens. One of my go-to's when I just don't know what I want for dinner, or for those late night cravings. My boyfriend and I are huge fans of their steak quesadillas with rajas. I love that they put potato in it! It's the only place I get my quesadillas! Other menu items I have tried have all been great as well. The tacos and cemitas are bomb! They do tend to run out of quesadillas sometimes, and don't always answer their phone, but I'm sure they stay busy. The awesome staff has given me free cafe de hoya cups, and Jarritos anytime there's been an inconvenience! I love these guys, and I can't see Queens without them!

This is my go to local place for tortas (mostly Milanesa de res). Their rolls are nice and crisp, the cheese comes in generous hunks, and the flavors are fresh. Meat can sometimes be a little dry. Haven't tried anything else besides tacos, which were fine, but not super impressive:.

I live close by the Tia Julia Truck and I'm so happy when it's here! Their cemitas are the best, I think. But yesterday I took my boyfriend to see if he would like it, since he's a huge fan of Taco Veloz's chiccharon tacos. We each had a torta, enchildada for me, carnita for him, and we each tried their tacos de chivos. After learning about the anatomy of tortas versus cemitas, I always considered tortas to be bad, off versions of a cemita. I mean, the bread! The chipotle! The quesillo Oaxaca! But, boy did I underestimate the torta at Tia Julia! The bread is unique, along the lines of cemita rolls, but a thing of its own. I always thought torta rolls were the 3 for $1 rolls in the local supermarkets (delicious, yes, but also familiar). The enchilada as well as the carnita were packed on there, as were the beans, cheese (not quesillo but springy and cut into three sticks of cheese on said sandwich). The pickled japlapenos really tied things together! Great, great sandwich, and for $6 I'd rather spring the extra buck for that than a $5 footlong. The tacos de chivos were really something else! The chivo had the gaminess that makes chivo not beef, which I like, and it was also fatty. Surprisingly I don't love too gamy or too fatty, but this was rich and balanced. The boyfriend was mighty impressed, and I was surprised as well. Three dollars for a taco de chivo is worth the extra fifty cents (or $1 at Taco Veloz!) The thing I find about the many taquerias in JH/Elmhurst is, while there are many I find they each have a specialty. Some have great tacos de chiccharon, like Taco Veloz, others have great fish tacos (like the Izquierda Taqueria on Roosevelt and Whitney, now gone and replaced by another taqueria). I like Tia Julia's cemitas best, and now their tortas and tacos de chivo have my heart as well. The fun of the neighborhood is checking out the different taquerias and seeing who has the best type of item. I suggest bringing your appetite! If I see the Tia Julia truck driving along Roosie, I'm following!

So so good. We got a carnitas taco, loaded with avocado and other good stuff and topped with their salsa bar. I was a little put off by the $4 price tag for horchata, until I saw it came in a giant tub. It was great, not as sweet as the typical one. And they even have chairs, in the shade! An oasis on a hot Saturday.

I've been living a block away from this truck for more than 15 years, always noticed it but did not give it a second thought. That was until they gave away tamales at the "Virgen de Guadalupe" day celebrations at the local church. Holy virgencita! The mole tamales were amazing and the salsa verde tamales were pretty darn good. I went and bought a batch this past Saturday and will probably go next. They only sell tamales on the weekend, haven't eaten anything else hence the 4 stars. * disclaimer: I'm not an expert on Mexican tamales but have had my share of tamales from all over throughout my life. These ones are good in my book. ahh.. and I am not a foodie.

I just had amazing experience with this truck. I only ordered one pork taco today when the gentleman asked me one or two tacos, because it was for light meal I thought it was better idea than having baked goods or any other light food around. Since this is Mexican distraction area there are many Mexican places but this one I see many Mexican people lining so I just thought this is the one I should try. And that taco came with massive pork! (I was like how could I have possibly two of this!? ) My favorite part is that heir side veggies and spices are all fresh and all people on the line was right, it was the truck among others. The large avocado on my taco made me smile. Now the taco filled my stomach that I do not need dinner anymore...:) Maybe I can try different Mexican places around here, but perhaps I will come back here straight rather than trying another place.

$2.50 got me an over stuffed Longaniza con papa (sausage and potato) taco with sliced avocado on it. It was spicy and VERY SALTY. Even so, I enjoyed it. The place pops off, and it's all authentic Mexican immigrants there, so it gets a stamp of approval. Why 3 stars? The one thing I had was very salty, and the prices aren't ridiculously cheap. But still, go!!

So ownership apparently changed a while ago. It's no longer the father/son duo working the place, and as a result quality has noticeably decreased. It's not terrible at all, but definitely not amazing and trip-worthy as I praised it before. Rounding up the review to 4-stars for old-times sake, but really a 3.5.

I freaking love this taco truck!!!! I always order the chicken sandwich. I come here so often that I have my sandwich customized. The chicken sandwich usually comes with mayo, refried beans, two big chicken pieces, with a load of avocado and big chunks of queso fresco. For me...the beans made it dry , so I request extra mayo and Pico de Gallo without beans. Oh my goodness, portions are great for a price of $7. You can also request the shredded queso fresco instead of the chunks for an extra $1. I also had the beef tacos with rice and avocado for $3 which was also pretty good. For that price....the portions was huge. I also had the taquitos which was not bad either.. Overall, I love this place...and will definitely come again like usual!!

Cemitas are amazing!!! Apparently, they also opened a restaurant nearby. Gonna check it out soon.

The chicken sandwich is Delicious!!!!!! Comes packed with chicken, avocado, cheese, peppers, beans, on a huge roll + pico de gallo. Very satisfying and yummy for truck food.

Forget all the other wannabes. This is the ONLY place to go for tacos. They are VERY generous when they serve and the seasonings are to die for. Get a bottle of Tequilla, a Friday night girlfriend and sing some rancheras...

I tried a carne asada taco, and it was overflowing with beef I almost had to eat it with a spoon. Remember to use the salsa verde.

AMAZING!!!! The BEST i mean best tortas ive tried!! I bumped into this place about a year ago n I've been hooked since then. After hearing so much about this place i gave it try i order a taco de carnitas (pork) and it was so good so much meat like for 2 tacos n i also order a torta de pollo empanisado (breaded chicken) i loved it. Became one of my favorites!!!!
