The outdoor seating area has a great view, and the food satisfied a seafood craving. However, they are definitely overpriced. We got the lobster roll and crab cake dinner. The lobster was slightly over cooked, but still tasted good. We paid extra for sweet potato fries, which were very good and crispy. The succotash with the crab cake had great flavor, but for one crab cake, it was way overpriced and we've definitely had better.

Google
We had such a horrible experience at ticklers. The pricing is outrageous for average food. The service was horrible because we waited for over an hour for food and they have different kitchens so if you order an appetizer, there’s no guarantee that you actually get it before your other meals and the soft drinks that you get for the kids are four dollars each with no free refills and 12 ounces with mostly ice. This place is such a rip off. I would never come back. Also be careful going there with your boat. They say it’s 4 to 6 feet at low tide but I docked at the furthest slip away mid tide and it was less than 3 feet so I was hitting ground.

Google
Enjoyed the atmosphere and the view. The food tasted good, but was not hot. The server was also good. The management needs a serious shake up. Ordered water and drinks. When the water was delivered ordered our meals. The drinks took so long to be delivered that the food came out before the drinks. We were told the if we didn’t take the food then it would not be redone and simply put on a shelf to get cold until we were ready for it. It was actually already not hot. If you want to manage like an inexpensive beach bar charge prices like said beach bar. For $140 dinner for two I expect better. The excuse was the restaurant was busy but half the tables were empty. I’d hate to see how it runs when full.

Google
This dinner menu selection was excellent: Grilled Atlantic Swordfish Creamy Orzo, Sun- dried Tomato & Olive Tapenade, Jumbo Lump Crab Meat. 2 of our party of 4 had this. Others had tacos and crab cakes. We said finally a kitchen that knows how to prepare Swordfish-moist and flavorful. Also very rarely do you see jumbo lump offered without any added ingredients. I’m out of town but I’d make a special trip to have this dish again. We came for crabs but all of us ordered other options. Well done kitchen!

Google
Great drinks and food. Menu has nice variety and the clams were steamed to perfection. Oysters we’re also excellently shucked. Loved the burger however it’s certainly not a smash burger. Prices are a little high, but you’re paying for that beautiful view of the bay. Can’t go wrong with any of the drinks on the menu

Google
Pretty overpriced for what you are getting. The view is great, and the food is mediocre. My wife and I ordered the Cream of Crab soup, Bacon Cheddar Hushpuppies, and the Oyster Po'boy with Side Salad. The soup had pretty good flavor, and it had plenty of what was definitely real crab. I know because there were so many shell chunks in the soup, I had to test each bite with my tongue first. As for the hushpuppies, they were pretty good but I was a little surprised about the large chunks of corn and the dryness of the batter (they were very crumbly). It's not necessarily a bad thing but something to be aware of when ordering. As for the Po'boy, it had pretty good flavor and I enjoyed it probably most. My main issue with this place is the price for what you are getting. One reason I think may be because of how many staff there are working. There was literally one or two people per table working, plus whoever is in the kitchen. Overall the atmosphere is nice but pretty average food.

Google
Really cool spot with can’t miss views of the water. Service was great and they have a large menu filled with fresh seafood. We ordered a half dozen crabs and they threw in several extras. Reservations are recommended, especially for mid-late afternoon. Check Bay Bridge traffic if coming from Annapolis!

Desiree Hartman

Google
We were very disappointed today in the menu choices. We had gazapgo, which had the consistency of tomato paste with little flavor. We also had the chicken salad wrap. It had a grilled tortilla shell that was chewy, with a small amount of chicken salad, very bland. We really enjoyed the menu at Easter. Hopefully, the Memorial day menu isn't set in stone!

Yelp
The perfect location for a feast on the bay! Everything we had was perfectly executed - from white paper covering for crabs (normally it's brown but the white was a nice touch) to the tomato & mozzarella caprese salad to the delicately steamed crabs. Our server was friendly and frequently checked in with us. There was ample parking, bay views and plenty of seats to enjoy the ambiance of being that close to the bay! We will definitely return soon!

Donny S.

Yelp
Came here with my girlfriend and was totally underwhelmed. The place was dead, the drinks were just okay and the food was not good. Super salty, but lacking in flavor otherwise. I've made better crab cakes myself. The prices are higher than even the touristy seafood places in Annapolis! My word of advice to the owner would be to stop being defensive in his reviews and actually work to fix whatever is wrong. The space is beautiful but without good food it's a moot point

Yelp
It's lovely to enjoy a new experience that exceeds one's expectations. Tickler's Crab Shack did that and more. Tickler's Crab Shack has competitors, but I believe it has a crab leg up on the competition with its waterfront views and surrounding field of dreams-like atmosphere. If the gorgeous atmosphere doesn't captivate you, the beautiful services and delicious seafood most certainly will. Our waitress was remarkable, and she made sure we were accommodated and taken care of throughout our dining experience. I could not have been more pleased with the food, staff, and views. Now, let me recommend trying the steamed crabs and their fresh oysters. I also recommend that you dine outside on the patio. A word of caution: given the nature of being outdoors and on the waterfront, you will encounter some flys, but please don't let that deter you from enjoying your seafood in the ambiance of a scenic waterfront oasis; you'll thank me later.

Yelp
This is a fun place to sit and have some appetizers and drinks. We came for dinner and found the entrees rather lacking for the price range. We enjoyed the fire-it's and the live music. On that note I highly recommend staying at the hotel. We had a great time.
google avatar

Kathy N.

Yelp
Looked online and saw beautiful indoor seating but I believe it's only for large events. I didn't know that and was surprised to see that our party was seated outside. Make sure to bring a jacket to cover up because it gets COLD. I would've much rather been seated inside. I got the pulled pork sandwich with fries which was great. I don't have complaints about the taste but for the price it was tiny LOL. Obviously a place you just sit and drink w friends with a view of boats if that's your thing. The service was slow and our waitress barely came to check on us. Wouldn't go out of my way to go here but it seems to be one of the better places in Tilghman w drinks & music
google avatar

Yelp
Excellent food, view, and service. This is also a great outdoor location for eating since it is protected from the weather by an actual roof. The drinks were good as well. The crab soup was my favorite part of the meal. They need to get a working website: I went to the hotel front desk on a Tuesday to get their menu and find out their hours since the website did not provide any of this information.
google avatar

Kathy T.

Yelp
4.5 5. Atmosphere and venue! On the water, a cute pavilion with scattered seats around the hotel with fire pits and heat lamps. Live music! If only it had been a little warmer we would have eaten outside. But we came in time for happy hour drinks before, dinner inside, then drinks outside again listening to music. Service was also great! A little slow, but friendly to this interracial Asian/Caucasian couple. 4 - food. We had raw oysters, clams in white wine sauce (a little salty), delicious crab soup and fried oyster sliders with sweet potato fries. Very good!

Ed T.

Yelp
Always enjoy Tickler's Crab Shack. Cold Eastern Shore Brewery Blonde Ale, flavorfully burger and sweet potato fries, and a crisp Cesar salad. Wonderful view of the water. We'll be back!
google avatar

Hannah P.

Yelp
Really adorable dockside dining with great service and live music! The crab dip was phenomenal! We especially loved how dog friendly they are with a dedicated doggy menu.
google avatar

Dylan D.

Yelp
Incredible view with great service and a laid back vibe. The menu is full of fresh seafood off the dock, combined with a great beer and cocktail list. We ordered half a dozen crabs but they threw in some extras which was greatly appreciated. Make a reservation so you can get a table right on the water. We'll definitely be going back!

Yelp
This place is inside of the hotel and it is on the water and lovely. The food is really good. I was honestly pretty surprised how good the food is here. The shrimp is good, highly recommend. The fried burrata salad is so, so, so good. Highly recommend. Everything was really good. I ate here twice in three days. Skip the tacos and the lobster roll.
google avatar

Heather A.

Yelp
My husband and I were staying at the Wylder Hotel. We went here purely out of convenience, but we were happily surprised! He got the brisket and I got fried chicken. They were both VERY good! The brisket was so tender he could barely keep it on his fork and the chicken was crunchy with great flavor and cooked to a juicy perfection. We both got drinks as well and they were strong (in a good way) would recommend!
google avatar

Yelp
We were able to enjoy a nice dinner while fishing at Tilghman's Island this weekend. We shared the crab cake sandwich (on the smaller side but very good, lemony) and some of the smoked wings (very good, love the sauce that it comes with!) For dessert, we had the peach cobbler with caramel sauce - which was good but def sweet enough without the caramel. Only cons was that they didn't give any utensils but luckily we had some in the car. They are practicing social distancing and checking in outside for curbside pickup so that no one has to go in.

Thomas C.

Yelp
Excellent service. Very friendly staff. Nice setting and clean. Food is less than desirable which dose not match the prices charged. Not a good value. Drinks is okay. Prices if the drinks do not reflect the quality of the drink. If improve quality of food and drink, would be a gem.

Yelp
Came for a later lunch with family at the end of June. I know that much of the country is experiencing a staff shortage but this place isn't. There were at least 8 people behind the bar/raw bar at one point. It took over an hour for us to get our food, which was very good but everyone was so hungry at that point that who really knows? Our server was great, and she was working hard, I think it's the management (or lack of) that isn't using their best resource (people!) well. Smaller parties did get served before us (we were a group of 9), larger parties seemed to be in the same boat. I have a lot of patience this summer for the many places that don't have enough staff but they visibly had enough. Even if the kitchen was understaffed, our drinks should have at least been filled regularly but that didn't happen either. It's expensive and a beautiful view.

Yelp
AWFUL SERVICE. If I could give 0 stars I would. It was my fiancé's birthday and we drove for two hours to go to ticklers crab shack. I made a reservation through open table and we got there on time at 7:30pm. We were seated by the hostess. And then received NO service for 30 minutes. The waitresses and waiters refused to make eye contact and when we tried to catch their attention they blatantly ignored us. Other tables who arrived after us were served before us. When the hostess walked by we were finally asked if we were served and had to tell her no one ever came up to us. We watched as she talked to a waitress and the waitress proceeded to come back into the indoor restaurant and make a point to ignore us. At that time we decided to up and leave. I am Asian and my fiancé is Caucasian he had to point out to me that he believes they refused to serve us because they didn't want to serve the Asian person. I'm so saddened and disappointed by that experience especially after then later that night receiving a message from open table that ticklers claimed we didn't show up to our reservations. I never expected a restaurant like ticklers to be so obviously racist and discriminatory.

Yelp
We got takeout from this place tonight. Our order was ready in 20 minutes, and the food was exemplary. The cream of crab soup is probably the best I've ever tasted. Portions are generous, sides are carefully prepared, and entrees are fresh and delicious. Easily the best place we've eaten in the area! I picked up my order in the warm, clubby bar area; looks like a comfortable place to hang out.

Yelp
I just had a crab meat po boy sandwich and it was fantastic. Great flavor, lots of crabmeat, crusty bread, ripe tomatoes. Retry much sandwich perfection. And the view is amazing. Good service, too.
google avatar

Tani V.

Yelp
I was really excited to go here and really disappointed. It was empty, the service was really underwhelming (it was clear they had not been trained adequately), and the food was way too salty and not anything exceptional. Such a cool location, I wish they were trying harder.
google avatar

Catherine A.

Yelp
Crabs were clean and fat! Loved the jumbo lump crab cake platter! Great mashed potatoes and sautéed spinach/ Swiss chard.

Yelp
We just stopped in for a couple of drinks and to check out the resort so we could come back to stay another time! What a neat family resort at the end of Tilghman Island! Very family friendly! Staff was so much fun and so attentive to everyone! We can't wait to come back to stay! Crabs & food we saw coming out looked very good!

Greg V.

Yelp
Both food and service were poor and food prices varied depending on various menus presented. Both soups and hamburgers were extremely salty, almost uneatable. First menu presented showed a price of $22 for a half dozen steamed crabs which seemed reasonable. However when the bill arrived it showed a cost of $55 which was way over priced for small crabs. When questioned, we were first told the crabs were charged at market price and then the manager showed us a menu we had never seen that showed the crabs at $55 for a half dozen and $100 for a dozen. Bot totals are well above the norm for the Chesapeake Bay Area. The waiter never offered us water when we arrived and he failed to initially submit our order for dessert. Bottom line this is a restaurant we would never recommend to family or

Nancy Y.

Yelp
Lovely setting and view. Good service. Good food, but the prices are over the top. Had three children with us....a child's burger was $16. Child's pasta and nuggets were only slightly lower. We had a party of 9 (including the 3 children) and they did tell us in advance there would be a gratuity added of 22%. This is way above the norm and it was added on an after tax basis. So, the problem isn't the food or the service but a lack of value given the other venues in the area for good seafood with good views. Was once a regular customer but will in future go elsewhere.

Yelp
Fun, casual environment, great cocktails, fantastic fresh oysters, delicious cheese board. Enjoy

jeff s.

Yelp
Wow I do miss Buddy Harrison We had two "dinners" both totally weak. The best thing was the Oysters...how can you screw up oysters Well all i can say if you want a "top" shelf meal do not come here. Pure waste of time!! Please ...do not call something dinner that is really small plate
google avatar

Jeff S.

Yelp
If there was one word to best describe this restaurant it would be underwhelming. Servers were not very attentive, the kitchen was slow and the food was average. We had a large party but we had made a reservation so they knew what to expect. Took about 15 minutes to get a drink and after the food was ordered it was another 30 minutes with no drink refills. When the food came, all sides were cold. Sad to say that at a restaurant that charges premium prices( which I am more than willing to pay) the best item we had was the bucket of corn on the cob. We were warned when we made the reservation that we would be charged a 22%, no problem. But I feel like I was totally fleeced based on the quality of food/ service and experience. Feels like the kitchen was understaffed, again, which is fine but you need to not seat a full house or you are setting the wait staff and kitchen up for failure. We witnessed a table of two older adults get up and leave because no wait staff had attend to them after 15 minutes. Hate to leave a bad review of a local establishment, but honesty is the best policy.

Yelp
Well. The place is amazing. Venue is superb. And then. Lights are too bright Alcohol selection is too slight

Jerry G.

Yelp
Wonderful crab cake sandwich with fresh hot French fries and a panoramic view of the Chesapeake Bay is what we found this Sunday afternoon. We chose the breezy covered outdoor deck. The crab cakes looked so good we each had our own. Rebecca, the hardworking server was polite and attentive. We'll be back for lunch again soon.

Smitty T.

Yelp
We loved our meals at Ticklers when we stayed at the Wylder this past weeked. Some highlights of the dining experience included the amazing ambiance( situated outside right on the water), the fact the restaurant is dog friendly, and of course the amazing food. We love the elevated menu. Do not miss out on the crab dip!
google avatar

Yelp
Great experience at Tickler's! Foods great, views are spectacular and of course the people are great! Service is always top notch and we are very happy to have The Wylder Hotel, Tickler's Crab Shack and Bar Mumbo on Tilghman Island! Keep up the great work, and we'll see y'all again soon! Ian

Yelp
This place has some good food and the staff is great! I enjoyed the crabs and the other food items!

Yelp
Great food , good service, beautiful view, and wonderful live music . It was a perfect evening.

Yelp
What a pleasant hideaway! On a little boat getaway weekend from Annapolis, we were pleasantly surprised by Tickler's. Cozy, clean, outdoor dining. Super friendly staff, and thoughtful attention to detail. Local, farm fresh food. Not your usual bar fare. It is clear that these guys take pride in their attention to detail. Great job!
google avatar

Yelp
The service was HORRIBLE! The Bartender acted like we did not exist for over 15 minutes. Hostess walked by with no eye contact. The rockfish and crab SUCKED - kids chicken fingers burned. I will give them credit, ribs were great. Atmosphere cool but the service sucked and majority of food sub-par at best...I guess if your not a local, you don't get the "good stuff"...bad for a tourist destination.

A P.

Yelp
Extremely rude hostess!!! This was our first time visiting Wylder Hotel and we were so excited to get away for our anniversary. We brought our dog (both the hotel and restaurant boasts that they are a dog friendly place). We initially did not intend on eating at Tickler's but the hotel front desk urged us to and to bring our dog to enjoy the outdoor seating, we made the reservation and were excited! When we got to our room we read through the hotel packet and noted that it specifically states dogs are allowed at outdoor seating with Ticklers. We arrived at Tickler's 5 minutes early, with our well behaved dog in tow. The restaurant hostess met us with an extremely rude attitude and told as that next time outdoor seating will not be open for dogs or at the current time, and made us feel EXTREMELY uncomfortable. We waited for 10 minutes before a server came out and decided to leave. What a disappointment, we were genuinely excited to be here and enjoy the night... welcome to Ticklers, I guess!!! We won't be back and would never recommend it, I genuinely hope that no one else's not will be ruined like ours was.

Donna M.

Yelp
Can I give this place more than -5 stars? It is the worst restaurant we've had in years. $35 for one really really really bad grapefruit crush, one lukewarm draft beer, and one overly salty overly wet crab dip appetizer. The only thing that was good was the pretzel that came with the crab dip and that was made offsite by Tilghman Island baking Company. The server FORGOT to put in our sandwich order. Never came to check on us. Finally got his attention and he had the nerve to ask us how we were doing. That's when he realized he had never put in our order. We paid our $35 bill(yes that bears repeating) and left to find somewhere decent to eat. Stay as far away from this place as you can get.

Yelp
Great seafood and very friendly service! We came here without a reservation, with a large group of relatives, on a beautiful weekend day, and it seemed they couldn't fit us in....but they really went out of their way to make accommodate us. Although they warned us the service might be slow as they had a wedding going on elsewhere on the property, they also advised us what to order that would fit in with their busy kitchen schedule. It all worked out very well....food was delicious, and we all got served reasonably quickly, and we didn't mind waiting in this gorgeous setting with panoramic views of the water. By far the best place on Tilghman Island!

E M.

Yelp
Soo good. Outside in the fresh air with a waterfront view, really friendly service. We had a truffle crab soup that is worth a special trip, plus the steamed crabs which were fresh and sweet (the server did a whole demonstration to show us how to peel and clean them). You get messy but they have an outdoor sink to wash up. The corn wasn't specifically on the menu but I ordered it because of the reviews - also sooo sweet and fresh with the old bay seasoning. Everything else was good too - crab cakes, filet mignon (surf and turf), seasonal veggies side, fries, fried chicken sandwich. We ordered the smores kit to go and made smores at the fire pits overlooking the water.

Bill B.

Yelp
We are locals and live in St Michaels. We are really into great food and don't mind going out of our way to get it. One of the great disappointments of living here is that so far none of the restaurants with great water views have decent food. We have tried them all from Stars at Perry Cabin to Harbour Inn to Crab Claw to everything else. The food at all the places with a lovely view ranges from F to C minus without exception until this place. We ate here today for lunch and were blown away by the quality. My wife had the corn chowder to which she added shrimp. I had the skirt steak with spinach and potatoes. We started with the fried pickled okra. Everything was great!! We are hard to please, but this place is killer good. I order skirt steak a lot, and this was maybe the best I have ever had. You have to ask for the kitchen to make the shrimp with the corn chowder, but it is delicious. We may go back tomorrow.......

Yelp
Hands down the best crabs ever. They were fresh out of the water, delicious, meaty, covered in Old Bay, and cooked really well. Also great shrimp cocktail, corn, service, view, atmosphere, and prices. Definitely go!!! (The connected resort seemed awesome, too!)

Sara T.

Yelp
Love this place. The outdoor seating under the pavilion is lovely over the water, service always good, and they brought my little dog water and a treat. We just moved nearby and this is quickly becoming our favorite.

Lindsay C.

Yelp
Amazing and great atmosphere and experience! I found Tickker's on Instagram and we went for dinner one night. Our family shared oysters, crab, shrimp and salads - Delicious! The drinks were also amazing! Service was extremely friendly and attentive. Nice views as well! Highly recommend.

Robert F.

Yelp
I really hope this was an off day for them=, because if not, the whole lot of them should be fired. 1. The service was god awefully slow. And, I mean bad. Drinks took 30 minutes. Food was like an our hour. Try this with two small children. 2. Three in our party ordered crab cakes. They were all SPOILED. We each tasted them and wanted to gag. They smelled like ammonia and even the waiter agreed. 3. So, we re-order. The crabcakes were so bad, none of us wanted anything to do with them. So... (instead of offering free meals to the three of us, or even a free round of drinks) the Manager comes over to tell us that in addition to our rmeals, they will also give us replacement orders of the crabcakes. Who wants to eat a crabcake after just being served a rotten one?!#! 4. So, 20 minutes later instead of focusing on bringing us our replacement meals first and quickly, they bring the replacement crabcakes! Two of us decide to try it again. THEY'RE STILL BAD! 5. So.... another 20-30 minutes later go by (at least 40 minutes after we ordered our replacement means), and they bring us our replacement meals. I ordered an oyster Po-Boy. There are only 3 oysters on the sandwich! Barely enough for half the sandwich. Pathetic. 6. So we've been at the table for nearly two hours for lunch, with two small children who have been over it for at least an hour. Then, it took them at least another 20-30 minutes to bring our check. 7. In short, a pathetic disaster from A-Z.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Amazing spot on the water & great staff.... One of the best burgers I've had in forever & Kieth was a great bartender who gave exceptional service

Joanne A.

Yelp
I had a lunch at Tickler's Crab Shack today. The staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. The fried oysters we had for our appetizer were perfectly fried in a light batter. We had crab cake sandwiches which were delicious. The restaurant is a short drive past St. Michael's and situated on the water with a beautiful view. It will be our go to restaurant when we visit St. Michael's in the future.

Eliza L.

Yelp
Great views and great food! Orange crush was tasty and crab dip and wings had awesome flavor. Service was quick, everyone there is friendly and accommodating.

Scott M.

Yelp
This place has a great view and great Catfish & Oysters!!! Good destion if in the area.

Gina D.

Yelp
I was hoping for hard shells but the crab cakes and oysters were excellent. Waterfront view with outdoor seating. Wonderful service. Very noisy when the fishermen come in from the day on the sea. Decor is casual with lots of windows.

Michael K.

Yelp
Great atmosphere. Great service. Great views and great food. Oysters and crab cakes were excellent.
