Tien Hsia San Chueh

Had the “Rolls-Royce” of beef noodles at Tien Hsia San Chueh. Definitely one of the more atas beef noodle experiences in Taipei. The broth was rich and fragrant, the beef was tender, and the ingredients were of very good quality. The restaurant also puts a lot of effort into the presentation and dining experience, making it feel more premium than your usual beef noodle shop. Price is on the higher side for beef noodles, but worth trying at least once for the experience. Definitely our favourite beef noodle. Best to make reservation!

Lunch here was beyond our expectations! Every dish was packed with flavor, but not the kind that leaves you guzzling a Coke or feeling thirsty all afternoon. The beef noodle soup was incredible—we tried one with prime beef tendon and another with beef heel muscle, both super delicious with a perfectly balanced broth. The pork rib on rice is a must-order: tender, five-spice-seasoned ribs with just the right portion of rice. For small dishes, the braised wheat gluten with brown sauce stole the show—so fresh, bouncy, and soft, unlike anything I’ve had before. The braised bitter melon, made with Taiwan white bitter melon, was tender and flavorful. You can really taste the care and quality in these classic Taiwanese flavors. The décor is a bit all over the place, but the service is warm and sincere. We walked in without a reservation, and the staff kindly found us a table—though I’d recommend booking ahead. All in all, amazing food with fresh, high-quality ingredients.

Dinner reservations are a must here—otherwise, expect a long wait. Conveniently located just a 5-minute walk from Episode Hotel, the restaurant offers warm, attentive service. We finished our soup before our noodles, and the staff kindly offered to refill it without us asking. My child loved the beef noodle soup—the beef was tender and full of flavor. I chose the pork chop set dinner, and it was one of the best I’ve ever had—crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender inside. The set came with three vegetable sides and a soup. Prices are on the higher side compared to other local spots, and there’s an additional 10% service charge.

it’s our first time here, we follow the michelins guide and found this. the beef noodle is tasty and flavor is balanced. not too oily and not too salty. the beef is nicely cooked and very tender considering its thickness. it’s a thumb up. the portion is big. atmosphere is spacious. no beefy smell in the restaurant. the staffs are very nice and explained the menu well and recommended us good dishes. i like the taiwan veggie they serve, but i don’t think the sauce which is sour.

The food was quite good; the noodles' texture was better than I anticipated. However, speaking frankly, I wonder if it was really worth a Michelin star award as advertised. The experience was not so impressive, I guess...

Nice smart place, came for a quick meal, first visit. Friendly welcoming service. Nice choice of dishes. Food tasted very nice. Prices were very reasonable.

Thick cuts of beef shank and tendon, tender with a nice bite. The braised broth is rich but not too salty, and the chewy handmade noodles soak up the soup perfectly. 🍜
