Best Unconventional Breakfasts in Atlanta | Eater Atlanta

"This congenial, family-run butchery and taqueria in East Point keeps its menudo simple but spicy. The spongy-soft chunks of tripe really soak up the savory red chile pepper broth in this soup. If more heat is desired, add a dab or two of the red-hot salsa to the bowl. The restaurant opens at 9 a.m. daily. Menudo is widely available at many Mexican markets and small taquerias around Atlanta on the weekends." - Beth McKibben

I ordered from them through doordash and when my order came the rice smelled spoiled but I thought hey maybe I am just smelling stuff. I then took my first and only bite of the rice and almost threw up. Since I was sitting in my room with the light off I decided to turn it on so I could look at the rice and from the pictures I have taken you can see the rice was slimey. This is just Unacceptable. I will never eat from this place again! And FYI I am Hispanic and KNOW what the rice was supposed to look, smell and taste like. And that wasn't it!

I was extremely enthusiastic about chicharrones, but unfortunately, they were hard and chewy, which was thoroughly disappointing. The customer service was excellent

This is used to be a place I would love to spend family time with but with all the changes, I don't think i'll come back. The food is way more pricey now, slow service since there is only 1 waitress only on the weekend. The theme in the restaurant is just so old now. They've had those same chairs and tables for the longest. There's no reason I should be paying $25-30 to sit on typical party chairs. The store is pretty dirty. Prices are just insane. Sometimes while wanting to buy meat, there is no worker to give you it. The food taste different now. Swear I thought the lady with the red hair was the owner but apparently not.

Google
Delicious tacos and great value. I ordered the adobada tacos . The meat is very flavorful and piled on high. I’ve had the tacos at a nearby taco joint and the flavor on these tacos are hands down winner

Google
Visited today because I live nearby and normally go to Tres Hermanos on the weekends. There is a good selection of non-perishables and a small selection of fruits and vegetables. The restaurant in the back is good. Very fresh and tasty food. I tried to order in Spanish, but I think I just annoyed the cook. He was very friendly and patient. Will return.

Yelp
Well my lack of the Spanish language didn't help in ordering lunch. I had the Chile rellleno AND a chicken burrito. I was thinking that it would be a combination meal like most Tex mex restaurants. Don't be mistaken- this is neither TexMEx or a combo. Should have known when my bill was 24.00. Instead it was this jumbo burrito that could feed a family of 3. It was a very good burrito, very authentic. Thinking that is like the Combo to include a relleno, I got that too. Did not expect rice, beans and something else as well as the huge relleno. The food is excellent, basically I ordered two meals for me. I have dinner and probably lunch the next day too.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite Latin joints in Atlanta's food scene. A grocery and a great restaurant all in one. Regarding the restaurant, It's simple and friendly and the food is fantastic. The prices are modest and the value is top notch. The number of locals packing the place each weekend are a testaments the authenticity of the food and friendliness of the people who work here. The restaurant recently extended the open times serving taco's only from 5p-10p Friday, Sat. & Sunday. We come and bring board games or play cards, it's a family favorite!

My favorite Mexican restaurant in the area. You have to go here. So good. I'd suggest the tacos.

Yelp
My first visit and this is as authentic as you will find. I ordered the Costilla en salsa Rojas and it was excellent. I'm new in the East Point area and this is a great find. Highly recommended!

Yelp
I paid 21.00 for a pretty decent burrito and a quesadilla with chicken with only cheese and chicken. This isn't a 5 star restaurant so why and I paying premium price for subpar food. I will keep going to Don sige from now on. Very disappointing!

Yelp
My favorite Mexican Restaurant, starting with the Great hospitality, from the Family waitress, she invited me to sit at her table and even shared her own food with me. The Tacos arei great and they make homemade tortillas, and their homemade " Menudo",is delicious, just like in Mexico. Family owned Restaurant, just the way I like, great food and they make you fell special like home, I greatly reccomend it.

Yelp
I'd recommend anyone within a 25-30 mi radius and above to drive out for this one. It's the best market and authentic restaurant I've been to. I've had pretty much half of the things there but my favorite thing to get is a steak and cheese Torta with everything including peppers and onions and other tasty surprises of the culture. I'm gonna end this review because I really can't describe it any better. But I will say GO TRY IT OUT! YOU WONT REGRET IT!

Yelp
Not only would you find a Mexican grocery store, but tbey also sell real authentic Mexican food. They sell menudo on weekends and hand made tortillas and pupusas. Try it out I'm pretty sure you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Authentic as it gets y'all. I almost don't want to write this review because it's such a secret spot. The order area is in the back of the grocery store. There are tables and chairs but I've always gotten my order to go because there's never any room to sit. I have had the soupa, the torta, quesadilla and the asada tacos. I want to try more items but those 4 are so freaking good I can't ever change. The packaging is tight so you don't have to worry about leaks. CAUTION: the red salsa is HOT! If you're a chip person get your own. They don't. Keep in mind this is a hole in the wall. They have plastic table cloths and family style seating. Put your pinkies down when you come here and shove a taco in your mouth!

Yelp
The best fresh chorizo you'll find anywhere. I've driven past this place many many times and decided to check it out when the local grocery store did not have chorizo. I was greeted with a warm Buenos tardes when I walked through the door. The meat market is small but the meats are fresh. Lots of families were there on a Saturday afternoon having lunch.

Yelp
Love coming here on sunday mornings for birria. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Portions are pretty big. If you are looking for authentic mexican food, this is the place. This is that hole in the wall place you have to visit. I recomend this to anyone who wants to try real authentic mexican food.

Yelp
Best Mexican food in ATL. Nothing in their menu disappoints for low prices. This restaurant is under the radar, but the locals are aware as well as here on a regular including myself. Stop by if your in the East Point/College point, GA area.
