Amazing place in Middle Oxnard in the winery itself. Very nice building and place with parking. Right off the freeway. After a nice refreshing salad to start the meal. We ordered the 40 oz. Prime rib which was amazing but too salty, but still we ate it all. They were so nice that they gave us dessert and coffee on the house and a peak into the winery. Definitely coming there again. Staff is great and very accommodating and nice.

We visited today and unfortunately a lot of the menu items weren’t available, and due to my peanut allergy I was even more limited since most of what was left was fried in peanut oil. While that was disappointing, our experience was saved by our server, Kayly, who went above and beyond to make sure we still had a great time. She was friendly, attentive, and even treated us to some wonderful wine tastings, which really elevated our visit. Kayly is a true asset to the restaurant, and we greatly appreciated her outstanding service.

Google
The restaurant is beautiful, and it’s nice to have such a lovely kosher place. However, unlike most of the reviews I read, our experience was disappointing. The prices are extremely high and do not justify the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the food itself was not enjoyable. I went with my three children, and not only did they not like the dishes, but there were even some items we couldn’t eat at all. Despite the long drive, the kids were hoping for a special experience, but it turned out to be simply terrible. The presentation was not particularly impressive either the same cherry sauce was used to decorate almost everything. At this price point, I would have expected something far more refined and memorable.

Google
Location very nice. Our host, Sam, was very friendly and explained everything, gave us good recommendations and was there when needed. The Food was perfection. The kitchen crew lead by Chef Austin did an amazing job. It probably the best kosher restaurant i've been to.

Google
The wine tasting was a great start to the evening with a variety of wine options. We purchased multiple bottles of delicious wine. Moving on to the Tierra Sur restaurant provided delicious meals supporting multiple dietary restrictions. The wine pairings with each dish were thoughtful and highlighted the flavors of each dish.

Google
Best kosher dinner! Steaks was exquisite. Wine pairings added dimension. Unusual flavors and combinations. Excellent service. Super pricey, though.

Google
I have been to a lot of kosher restaurants in my life. This may take the parve cake. The food was absolutely delightful, with surprisingly wonderful service to match. My steak was a perfect medium rare. The wine pours with each course really were a cherry on top and made it a much more immersive “winery” experience, even if not at a vineyard. I cannot recommend enough.

Google
More then a restaurant A landmark!!! The food was yum really felt the love and the care in each dish Was there for lunch by the bar and dinner by the main restaurant. Everything was delicious!!

Yelp
The ambience is wonderful. A restaurant in a winery. Beautiful interior and high ceiling. Nice space between tables. The waitress was wonderful. The food was exquisite and came paired with 1.5 oz of a delicious wine. You could buy a bottle of amazing wine from the wine list that features older bottles of wine that you can't get in the market that are amazing. The American T-bone steak was amazing. The two pasta dishes were also amazing. All the food we had...yes, amazing. It is a kosher restaurant. For those who don't eat kosher food often, it is more expensive than non kosher food so the meat will be more expensive but I felt it was well worth it. I am not sure how it has under 4 stars on Yelp. Don't go there looking to get Cheesecake Factory portions and a lot of mediocre food. This is kosher food and dining at its best.

Yelp
We were here 2 years ago and everything was amazing. Last night was a disappointment, very hit and miss. First, the staff. 2 years ago - we were taken care of by one amazing waiter. Last night was more of a clown car vibe. Last night, we sat at the bar, waiting for another couple to join us. My husband's mixed drink arrived promptly. I had to ask FOUR different bar attendants before I received my simple glass of wine., AT A WINERY. Dinner. 1st course, soup and salads were very good, mushroom pate was good. Next, ravioli was amazing. 3rd,/main course was disappointing . The person who ordered the mushroom pate ordered something that read like a meat dish. Waiter told him it's vegetarian, NOT that it's essentially an entree sized portion of your1st course. The teaspoon of salsa did it's best, but the salmon was unseasoned and tasteless. The vegetables were delicious. There was only one type of dessert left. Shared among four people, half of it was left untouched.

Yelp
Great food, fantastic service and wonderful ambiance. Always a treat to be at a high end restaurant in the local area.

Yelp
Very pricey but worth it. Lovely location very quiet with excellent wait staff. Every bit of the food was superb and some was very unexpected owing to the need to provide Kosher options. The vegan substitutes for milk products were the best I have ever tasted. The small wine pairing with each dish was a treat. We will be back soon.

Yelp
I had dinner here with friends last night and the food and service were fantastic! The wine pairings with every dish were great, and I tried new wines I wouldn't normally order. The ribeye was excellent and the upside down blood orange cake was delicious. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. Though expensive, it's great for a special night out.

Yelp
We had a delicious meal and excellent service. It is a pricey excursion, but small portions of wine are included with each entree so it felt fair. The flavors of the dishes were unique and the ingredients are high quality. I did not think the desserts were necessary but I loved everything else. The waiter was fabulous and friendly. I'd suggest adding more vegetarian options.

Yelp
We used to love Tierra Sur, but sadly, things have changed. It used to be a wonderful Sunday afternoon destination for a wine tasting and lunch. For a while, they offered a prix fixe brunch for $75 per person, and it was memorable. They went back to offering individual menu items, and we enjoyed our meals, even though it wasn't as special as the fabulous brunch. We went there today and the place was empty. After we got our food, we saw why: The lunch menu now consists of tiny "tapas" dishes at regular entree prices. We ordered $20 smash burgers and a $10 order of fries. The smash burgers were micro appetizer sliders on tiny plates without even a garnish. When the food was brought out, it was embarrassing, like "the Emporer's new clothes" story! We pretended to be ok with it but we were appalled. The menu has four kinds of fries to choose from ---- likely because if you go there, your meal will mainly consist of fries accompanied by a mini appetizer. Even if you order 2 "tapas" each and fries, you'll get a small meal, dine mostly on potatoes, and probably feel like a fool for spending so much on a french fry meal accompanied by a few small snacks. Yes, we know "tapas" means small dishes, but the price of these for the portions is absurd in our opinion. Others must also think so, because we had never seen Tierra Sur so empty on a Sunday afternoon. Please note that the tip is now a mandatory 22% added in. Although we typically tip 20%, we believe how much to tip should be our choice. Our bill came out to $80 for one appetizer-sized slider each plus fries. Unless they change back to one of their previous iterations, sadly, we will not be coming back to Tierra Sur.

Yelp
This is only my personal opinion others may see it in a different way. The restaurant is located in industrial Park and the interior reflected that, it's a three course meal, which was too much food for us, but we were told that we have to order the three courses. we really enjoyed the wine pairing one of the courses we ordered was the tuna tartar and it was extremely small for the price when the bill came, they tacked on a 22% automatic gratuity The service was extraordinary. .

Yelp
Rude staff, mediocre food the wine is horrible, definitely don't recommend this place!!!!

Yelp
I love this winery and the restaurant. The wines are good, the atmosphere is beautiful. Going up the stairs and seeing the barrel rooms from up above is so awesome! The dining experience is so nice. Have been here a few times with my husband, and also with my little daughter, and with my mom too. Brought friends for wine tasting.

Yelp
The tasting room and food were great! The service was a bit spotty. Staff seemed distracted.

Yelp
Came for a birthday with our orthodox friends. Service was atrocious from the beginning. Waitress did not know anything about any of the dishes or the wine and did not care nor ask for help. Ordered our food, then informed that they were out of lamb (ordered by 2 in our party and it was early)-she stood there looking and waiting like we needed to hurry to re-order. Then we asked to swap the red wine pairing with one of our steaks because I can't drink red wine. She said absolutely not but we could pay for it (dumb b/c Im sure the whites are less expensive). So we asked for the manager. He insisted that one could not drink white wine with meat -that this was a first for him, but finally relented and brought me the ounce pour of Chardonnay. We got our 3 steaks ) which inexplicably all came cold! The puree served with it (tasty actually)!, clearly came from the refrigerator(it must have been pre-plated), it was ice cold! I thought maybe that was what they intended...manager said "no" it's supposed to be hot. So everything went back. Honestly, the entire meal was a fiasco and there was no apology, nothing comped (we told them it was my husband's bday, but they did not bring anything!). We shared 4 first courses and had to ask for plates to eat them on. Very very pricey (which would have been expected and fine... for good Kosher food and a nice dining experience) and to top it off after terrible service and cold steaks, they auto added 22% tip (I guess this eliminates the wait staff having to be professional or to care about the dining experience). None of us will come back. Too bad.. my friends used to love this place, were members of the wine club, etc. So poorly run and disappointing.

Yelp
***AN UNIMAGINABLY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE***. We took my mom this evening for her 85th birthday. We had heard wonderful things about Tierra Sur and had bought generous gift cards for multiple people, though we had not yet been ourselves. So many things went wrong tonight, it was almost hard to keep track. 1. First, our waitress told us they were out of the fish of the day that I was planning to order. 2. We all ordered and she came back to tell us that they were out of the pesto pasta. We ordered linguini as a replacement. 3. Then, she told us that they did not have three 8 oz. Spencer steaks (only 1), but that they would give us two 16 oz. ribeyes ($135 each) for the price of a Spencer ($70 each), which she assured us was a "win." 4. Meanwhile, we were sitting at the table for an hour before bread had been offered to us. 5. When the food started to arrive, we learned that what we were told was a win was instead a horrible loss. The linguini pasta replacement was undercooked, bland and tasteless, while the one ribeye that finally arrived was full of fat. We had to wait another 15 minutes for the second ribeye that was supposed to have been well-done. When it arrived, it was just as fatty as the first one, but it was rare! My wife's Mirepoix was also strange and inedible. 6. When the waitress brought the steaks, she quickly put sweet potato fries down on the table and explained that they were out of the regular fries we had ordered. You could tell she was embarrassed. 7. It is ironic that at the bottom of the menu, it says "Substitutions and modifications are politely declined." Four out of five of us had orders substituted/modified by the kitchen. 8. Finally, while all this was going on, we were watching multiple plates of bread and everything we had ordered that the restaurant was apparently out of being delivered to other tables. We felt like we were on a hidden camera show! The manager was very polite, tried to explain why everything had gone wrong, took care of the bill and invited us back. It will be a while before we can bring ourselves to return. Fortunately, there is an In-N-Out on the way home.

Yelp
Love the Lamb Bacon Burger here, and the Lamb Chorizo. This place is Fire. Nice cozy ritzy looking place. They had a seat for us already, and took our orders. Lamb was incredibly delicious. Real tender and fresh. Seasoned really good with no gamy taste. Nice people, and good food. This will be our go to place when in Oxnard.

Tiffany E.

Yelp
Found this place by chance. Traveling with our three children. The food was excellent. Five stars. Every single dish was outstanding, and paired with wine. A few surprises/things I wish I knew: not really child friendly. No high chairs, limited child menu. Lots of extra wine glasses to break and no outside food allowed. The place is seriously Kosher.

Yelp
Good Kosher Food in Ventura County? Didn't think it was possible. I have been to Herzog with multiple Orthodox family members and we have always had a great meal. This time we came with 6 of us including the wives. There was no pressure to order or leave or anything, we sat out on the covered patio and really enjoyed the ambiance and the weather. Food we ordered: Bread and Olive oil - Comes complimentary with the meal and it is delicious freshly baked and crispy. GRILLED SALMON ginger glazed plums, broccolini, shiitake, green onion, black rice cakes Very good Salmon cooked perfectly nice flavor worth a try 8 oz FLAT IRON STEAK Cooked to perfection with mashed potatoes very good Duck Main course: Perfect seasoned and cooked duck breast and wing very good flavor Side of Fries: Not great pretty average honestly Drinks: Baron Herzog Jeunesse Pink Moscato - very good for someone who doesnt like wine and likes things a bit sweeter. Enegren Brewing Company Beer - Very delicious local beer on tap Dessert: PEACH GALETTE fresh peaches, coconut and peach ice cream, lavender glaze The best of the two desserts ice cream was great and the fresh peaches really pop CHOCOLATE S'MORE chocolate marquise, graham cracker, meringue, smoked cherry compote This was overall a miss for us none of us enjoyed the smoked cherry as it was overwhelming the taste of everything else. The entire experience is not cheap, in fact it's expensive. For a special occasion and you need Kosher food this is a great choice.

Yelp
This is the best vegetarian entree I've had in a very long time...Eggplant Osso Buco. Loved it and the service, both excellent. I'm looking forward to what vegetables will be smoked on my next visit this summer.

Yelp
Skeptical after reading the reviews but quite impressed. We had a great experience. As we arrived about 15 minutes before the 5 o'clock opening, we got greeted by Andrew. He offered to take us on a tour of the plant. It was a pleasant experience learning about the process. Now, the chow... we both got the prix fix menu ($108). The Leak soup and the Beet salad were excellent. Second we got the Duck pasta and the sausage. The pasta was amazing but the sausage was winner! We upgraded to Ribeye ($22) and the Boar ($16)... The Ribeye was amazing while the Boar was not far behind. Little on dry side. The donut and frozen cheesecake both fantastic. The cheesecake slightly more! The bread is a wow! The service was impeccable. We were not rushed and timing between meals was perfect. Only complaint... way too much food! Thank you for a great experience!

Yelp
Furthermore I would like to add that thetip for the servers is AUTOMATICALLY ADDED TO THE BILL! This policy creates an environment where servers don't have to be on their "A" game cuz they're getting big fat tips even if they underperform, as was our case.
google avatar

Cyril K.

Yelp
Awsome food and service and ambience! Couldn't have expected a better evening. The wait staff and manager were very attentive. Of course, the wine pairing was on point.

Michal M.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our date night at Tierra Sur. Vincent our server was very attentive and knowledgable about the menu and wine. The food was delicious and we really enjoyed the wine pairings- we were not expecting that but it was such a great bonus. Overall service and ambiance were excellent. We would definitely return when we visit again.

Yelp
Recently we held my son's wedding at Herzog Wine Cellars/Tierra Sur and it was beautiful. We can't thank the staff and the Food and Beverage Director, Jonathan Auchterlonie , enough for all he did to make this event wonderful, and for his generous input and help--especially his hands-on help day of--and his flexibility with menu changes to accommodate the various dietary restrictions of our guests. We had lots of space for changing, getting ready and assistance whenever we needed it. The food at Tierra Sur is spectacular, thoughtful and creative and inspired by seasonal fresh ingredients sourced in nearby fields. I loved the variations of squash in the fall squash salad served for the wedding dinner, especially the tempura kabocha squash. Guests loved the ribeye, salmon and risotto entrees. Tierra Sur is a fine place for lunch or dinner. Wines are lovely. Fun place to visit.

Yelp
Long time customer and I'd likely not revisit this place. Mother's Day brunch was a bad experience. Not a big variety considering the cost. Food mediocre at best. They add a 22% service fee and the service was sub par. Short staffed with wait staff. Food lacked seasoning, salmon tasted over cooked, salads drenched in dressing and soggy. People should be able to put their own dressing on. Two salads to choose from. Dessert 3 to choose from and we're awful. Lastly, the fried chicken and waffles what a disaster. We specifically asked them to make sure our chicken wasn't raw inside and they assured us it wouldn't be and we got a fried chicken raw inside. The manager of food and beverage wasn't accountable and seemed irritated to receive feedback. He only checks up on staff that have larger parties. Just awful. This place doesn't care about customer service.

Eric A.

Yelp
I have to say we just went here and while some of my group liked it, I thought it was mediocre at best and VERY expensive. The corn chowder came as a paste in the bowl and they poured hot water over at the table, and that's basically what it tasted like. I got the chicken leg and it was tasteless and overcooked. The peach cobbler had a very dry biscuit that was hard as a rock. As I said, some others at my table seemed to like what they got, but I won't go out of my way to come here again. I had to repost this review as Yelp flagged it for being on the wrong business. We actually went there in July 2021.

Dino A.

Yelp
This place is just as much about the environment as the food. More than a meal, it's an experience. The variety of dishes are packed with flavor coupled with outstanding wine and mixed drinks. A true delight. Not cheap but a place you do want to have a special occasion at. We will definitely be a repeat customer
google avatar

Shery P.

Yelp
Honestly, I was not impressed. While the space is pretty and an unexpected surprise, the food was definitely lacking. I will say that the Hamachi was spectacular but the duck pasta and salmon we're not good in my opinion. The pasta was completely boring and lacked flavor. The salmon was overcooked and dry. The wine pairings were nice and I may just go back to do the wine tasting. For a very mediocre meal, it certainly wasn't worth the price tag of $200 a person. To be fair, the wine pairing was a part of it. Well, at least I got to try it. On to the next.

Yelp
We were looking forward to a special birthday dinner night out. Service began great. Attentive, listened to food allergy concerns and help with choosing the right bottle of wine. Beet salad was very good, we really enjoyed the kielbasa sausage as first courses. The salmon was not impressive, we did not finish it , the ribeye was good. The biggest issue was the service ground to a halt when the main course was served. I even needed to get up and find some salt and pepper. Not much more attention , we never saw our waiter again. We needed to flag down other staff to finish up. Oh well , was looking for a new spot and a wine tasting place but will have to stick to our tried and true.

Yelp
If I was reviewing only the food, this restaurant would get 1 star. The service was very good, but the food was extremely disappointing and much too expensive for the quality and taste. The soup was hot but very under seasoned, and the entrees were cold. My husband had a steak. it was cooked properly, but he makes better steaks at home, and for $88, it should have been exceptional. My pasta dish was so bland, the sauce was a strange consistency, had very little chicken in it and was a very small portion for $38. The best thing we ordered were the potato fries, well worth the $8. I recommend sticking to the tasting room and staying out of the restaurant.

Yelp
Everything was good except the steak. Desert was really bad, first course of Tar Tar tuna was so small, Basically one spoon and they put it on a huge plate lol

Yelp
Best dining experience! Wait staff was perfect, friendly, conscientious and frequently checked in on us. Kudos to management for running such a well oiled machine; it shows! Ordered the three course meal for $59 (?). The salad was just the way I like it-fresh, with a lite dressing that covered all the lettuce leaves, marinated (?) apricots, wide carrot shavings, and croutons. It was a decent portioned salad that I almost didn't finish. For the main course I had salmon. I've noticed that salmon has been tasting funky at restaurants lately (during this last COVID surge), but I decided to take a chance. Im glad I did! The salmon had perfect texture, was perfectly cooked and great tasting. Loved the aioli on the top of the salmon, the glazed carrots, the shishito peppers and the tempura fried veggies. One of the best salmon dishes I've ever had! For dessert I ordered the chocolate tart with pistachio ice cream and my friend ordered the frozen cheese cake mousse with berries, whipped cream and granola. The chocolate was a bit much for me; I preferred the cheese cake mousse which was lighter. We also ordered a flight of Herzog wine, which allowed us to sit, talk, enjoy our food and have a chance to sample their wine (which I love btw). We'll be back!!!! Eager to try more wine and become a member. Can't recommend this restaurant enough!

Yelp
Very nice restaurant with great service. If you're looking for a high end restaurant in OXNARD (date night) don't overlook this option.

Keri T.

Yelp
On Jan. 1, 2023, my family decided to experience Holiday brunch at this establishment. At the price of $95.00/person, it was understood that there would be some kosher selections. To our disappointment, there were no other options available! E.g. limited salad, dessert, meat and vegetable selections. Unbelievable! Plus, the options served were not prepared at a high quality.

Yelp
Great wine and dinner with friends. The service was terrific and food was delicious. Next time I will do the wine tasting. Perfect spot for a first date.
google avatar

John W.

Yelp
I posted a "not recommended" review months ago but has been removed so that I repost it again with new words. For a high-end restaurant, the quality of food should always be at top priority, next is the ambiance and service. The quality of the food is not matched with the price,

Yelp
Tierra Sur is a top-notch, all Kosher restaurant (non-dairy) located in the Herzog Wine Winery in Oxnard, CA. There's just about nothing else like it in the area and one can see why it would also be a destination for those in Los Angeles seeking a fine dining and also certified Kosher experience. They do have some vegetarian options, though glancing through the menu with that as my focus, it clearly wasn't their main intention, and the menu does change seasonally - so some of what I had in July is not currently available at this December writing. Of course, since you're at a winery, you might as well start with wine. Our table shared the Camouflage Red Blend. This was one of the most satisfying glasses of wine I have ever had. I'm certainly not a wine expert, but I've had enough to at least know whether or not I like it...I liked this a lot. I'm rarely moved to buy wine as the result of having it at a restaurant. In this rare occasion, the Herzog Camouflage Red has entered my permanent list of "buy this wine." For my main, I had the Veggie Pizzetta. (a version with veal is what's available on the menu as of this writing.) For a non-dairy pizza this wasn't bad. Points for effort...but as firm believer in the power of cheese, this was not my favorite dish in the world. I also had a side of their "Potato Fries." I'm also a firm believer in the potential of french fries, and there was something about them putting the word "potato" right in the name that inspired me to order them. These were super super good. Perfectly cooked, perfectly thick, perfectly tasty fries that I didn't want to share with anyone (err, though I did.) A couple of odd choices for my meal, but this was brunch time and I tend to eat lighter earlier in the day, especially with the absence of brunch foods on the menu. Thy also offer house-made pastas, a pumpkin fritter is currently on the menu, sweet potato fries, and a Squash-Apple Soup round out the vegetalrian options I can see currently available. So if I had to do it again (and I would), I'd come back for dinner and have the more hearty pasta dish and more tapas. All in all this was a VERY nice restaurant with impeccable service and the extra bonus of being able to walk up the stars and view the wine cellars was pretty cool.

Yelp
Bottom line: save your $$, buy kosher food, eat it in your hotel room, and make another payment to your 401k! We began at the winery for wine tasting...didn't know it until we were there, but $25 per person for wine tasting? Ask them how many awards their wine received from wine spectator or vivino--zero. There's a reason why....if you have any sense of wine, taste buds, or smell ability, you'll find out...I tasted around seven wines and only one was worth tasting again....the others were crap. I will say our server was quite attentive and provided excellent service. We then went into the "dining room" which was more like picnic benches for our large party. We were informed that tonight's menu was prix fixe. And expensive, too. $79/pp for three courses and around $100 for four. Fortunately, one could also do ala carte, but we had to ask for that. It wasn't freely given. Everything started out well enough. Our server introduced himself and then promptly disappeared. Around 20 minutes later another server appeared and said she'd help us. Around 20 minutes later we were finally able to order food. That's WAAsAY too long to sit around waiting to order! The Hamachi was quite good. Short ribs were fairly fatty, but tasty. Dessert brownie was terrible. My mom was pissed because of the long wait. Finally was able to talk with the manager and they comp-ed us on some food items. Folks: it's not worth it! But, you'll go and find out for yourselves.

Yelp
It would've been great to praise this restaurant after driving here from such long distance from Los Angeles but the way they handled our group was awful. Obviously we all understand that we are kosher, so we have to pay premium pricing for Glatt Kosher but that doesn't mean that just because it's kosher we have to be glad that it exists and be grateful. This restaurant needs to understand that people will have to think twice when they want to come the second time around and expect a better experience. My message to the management, profits should not always dictate service and quality of food; your portions are small for the prices you charge. Don't ruin the experience of Glatt Kosher by charging so much and leaving us hungry after paying such a high price for food we paid.

Ira S.

Yelp
Incredibly disappointing experience. Food is WAY overpriced and is amateurishly prepared. Would even go so far as to say that each savory dish I had in the prixe fixed menu was horrible. DO NOT DINE HERE unless you want to pay a fortune for horrible food. (Service was terrific. Ambiance was terrific.) The menu was not updated for several changes, so many items we ordered initially were not available. Tacky, tacky, tacky. Bottom Line: If you put lipstick on a pig, it's still a pig! Food is horrible; do not dine here...

Yelp
Fantastic find in Oxnard of all places. Tucked away in an industrial park is this little gem. I have lived in Ventura county sense 1996 and this is the first time I've ever heard of this place. I simply googled best dining in Ventura county and this was one of the top 10 and I'm not surprised. Everything was exceptional. We were greeted by our server Jausalynn by name which was a nice touch. She patiently and passionately describe some of the key items on the menu and we decided to go with the higher priced prizes fixed selection. Beef cheek nuggets/amazing Caesar salad with finally chopped fried anchovies/butternut squash ravioli and one more ! Ok the rib eye was to die for! It was perfectly cooked and tender and juicy and just plain good. Desserts were great, wine pairing was great I will definitely be back

Yelp
The food and ambience are incredible. The best restaurant in Ventura county. For first course the chorizo tortilla was incredible as was the stuffed chicken leg for entree. The peach cobler was the best I ever had! The wines are from their own cellar which makes it extra special. The service is top notch and we can't wait to return!

Yelp
In a restaurant that only has 10 items on the menu, I find it unprofessional that they have run out of two of the menu items by 7:00PM. I also find it ridiculous that the kitchen will make certain items for the "tasting room" but will not allow those items to be served at dinner (which is the same time), even though several of the items on the menu are unavailable. With regards to our backup options that we did order, the food was pretty good but underwhelming. The service was pretty slow as well.

Yelp
Yelp Challenge 2016- 51/116 Attention foodies- two words: LAMB BACON! Tierra Sûr is located inside the Hertzog Wine Cellars and it's charming. They open for lunch at 11:30 am. The complimentary bread is served with olive oil infused with garlic. Addictive. I have only been there for the lunch but the dinner menu sounds intriguing too. We recently dined on the Soup du Jour, roasted tomato with crostini and fava puree ($8), the hickory & maple smoked lamb bacon ($8) and the Burger de la Casa ($15), all of which we asked to be split between the two of us (and no split plate charge!) Needless to say the lamb bacon was the star: sweet from the maple and smoky from the hickory...amazing. The soup was delicious and the burger was satisfying and juicy. All produce is from local, small family farms and the service is always quietly gracious. For dessert, consider the Peach Crumble ($12). Prosecco-poached peaches, oat crumble and vanilla bean custard. Oh my! After your lunch you can get pleasantly tipsy and get an education too at the large wine bar with tasting flights. If you can then walk upstairs, you can give yourself a free self-guided tour of the winery itself. Interesting history. All in all, a wonderful time, at an out-of-the-way, diamond-in-the-rough within the confines of an industrial park. Go visit and you'll be surprised...

Yelp
Off the charts! Hands down, one of the best dining experiences of my life. You'll always find a unique menu based on seasonal, LOCAL produce and other ingredients. The ambiance is perfection, the quality of the food is outstanding, the staff is the most courteous and professional of any restaurant I've ever experienced. And if you're lucky, Chef Gabe will make his way out of the kitchen to spend a few minutes chatting with you about everything from organic farming to cooking techniques to muscle cars. Seriously, if you haven't experienced the magic that is Tierra Sur, you need to make it happen ASAP. Look for some of their special events (multi-course food and wine pairings, etc.) World class restaurant!

Yelp
Last time my wife and I went was in 2019 for her birthday. Terrible experience. Haven't been there since. We used to be fans of this restaurant but everything changed when they implemented a buffet for lunch instead of a sit down setting. When we reserved by phone, we were not told about these changes. So we assumed we were going there to have a regular restaurant style lunch Since we drove for over an hour, we decided to stay anyway and try the buffet. Needless to say it was a disaster. Food was lacking, limited options, it was cold and had no taste. A total rip off at $75 per person. Barely ate. We voiced our disappointment to the manager in such an emotional way that he offered to comp it. We left hungry and upset. It's sad for a fancy restaurant to go down so much in quality and sounds like it hasn't changed much since after reading other reviews. Another disappointment with a kosher place

Yelp
I have not been here for years. I was a member years ago with free pick up parties. We love it and the food was amazing. I decided to join again. I was so disappointed. I brought my 3 sisters and their families for lunch. Worst lunch ever!!! My sister and I had the rice and it tasted like it was two weeks old. We had a server with the wine who had to serve our food too. It took 20 minutes to get a fork and we had to ask for napkins. They were short staff and it was not good. I was so embarrassed for my family. The bill was $300 for appetizers and a few burgers and the rice dish. I will never go back again. I canceled my membership!!! In the past my husband and I loved the experience, but I'm so disappointed. Look for something else!!!!!

Yelp
First time here and was very good. Had the black angus ribeye, medium with purple potatoes and it was very good. Seasoned perfectly, cooked perfectly. Meat was tender and delicious. Had the chocolate bar for desert and it was very good. Not to sweet and just enough for one person. I had a glass of the Herzog Pinot noir and it was very good. Since the wine bar and restaurant are attached I did a wine tasting first then went to eat. Jessica is super nice and very knowledgeable about the wine. Great place to stop if you're in Oxnard.

Yelp
This was the single greatest meal of my entire life. It was super super expensive but OMG that was the most amazing food - kosher food - of my life! There simply aren't words to express how great it was. The service was excellent too, by the way! A singular culinary experience!! What the heck are they doing in Ventura County?
