This Is the Hops Capital of the United States

"The Yakima taproom serves hard ciders made from apples grown in nearby Tieton, Washington. Try a glass of fresh hopped cider to celebrate the season, or choose a flight to sample six of the signature ciders including Blueberry, Huckleberry, and Bourbon Barrel Peach. Both indoor and outdoor seating are available, with frequent food trucks on site offering lunch or dinner to pair with a glass." - Molly Allen

Where to Eat and Drink During Yakima’s Fresh Hop Ale Festival | Eater Seattle

"One of the country’s most respected apple orchards also has a bar where visitors can sample a wide range of ciders on draft, in bottles, and in cans, from year-rounders blended with apricot or hops to seasonal specialties like cranberry or lavender honey. The tasting room’s contemporary interior is perhaps a bit close, but an outdoor stage and oversized lot provide plenty of room to enjoy the Yakima sunshine." - Alisha McDarris

Google
Tieton is my absolute favorite cider company. I was so happy to be able to visit and drink delicious ciders while playing games in the beautiful weather.

Google
I am not a big fan of cider because it’s usually too sweet for me. I tasted all 6 ciders on tap and they were all very pleasant. I even bought some to take home. What I love about Tieton Cider is none of it tastes fake or overly sweet. I highly recommend this place especially if you think you don’t like cider. Tieton might change your mind. The service was also excellent!

Google
Great spot, people are so nice. More importantly their cider tastes so good. Got some cans and flew them home.

We stopped here after a drive thru Yakima Canyon and it hit the spot!! 1pm on a Saturday and the place was empty and LC treated us like royalty! We enjoyed samples before picking our drinks and she was super knowledgeable about all the varieties.

Google
Glad they were open during our travel dates! The ciders are all awesome and we even got to try their delicious slushy drinks. Bartender was really nice.

A great tasting experience! There are several breweries in the area and after awhile I want something a little sweeter and this hit the spot! First we sampled and then we had a glass of our favorites - Blossom Nectar and Cherry! They sold cans and also did growler fills as well! A very welcoming tasting experience, knowledgeable pouring staff, and excellent tasting cider - top notch!

Google
Four of us went for some cider tasting midweek in the afternoon. No problems with getting in and set up with out great tasting array of drinks. Easy to park. Clean bathrooms. Few large indoor tables and some smaller ones outside. They offer a cider club. Different things to do on different days (bocce, bag toss, music).

Yelp
Not a bad stop for cider. I've had ciders from here before so I knew I had to stop here on this trip to Yakima. We all shared the cider flight. This way I got to sample all the ciders on tap. I especially liked the blueberry and the strawberry ciders. They had some cans to go so I picked up some blueberry! If you like cider, this is a definite stop.

Yelp
This is a really nice cider brewery. Since its fall it is decorated nicely with a few pumpkins and fall leaves which goes well with the wooden industrial decor. There's free parking, including disabled. There's Corn hole and Bocce outside next to the outside patio. Bathrooms are modern and clean. The bartender was really helpful and friendly, suggesting we save money and buy the $10 cider flight as we wanted to try all of their different ciders. The bourbon peach cider was my favorite. I highly recommend you go here if you are ever in Yakima!

Yelp
What a great addition to the valley is the Tieton Cider Works. Quality Place serving up some delicious and unique ciders all with the help of local produce. The Tasting Room is quite lovely with plenty of seating for relaxing as well as some outdoor seating when the weather gets nice. A flight of ciders, which includes everything on top and perhaps a taste of one of the nicer offerings, is $5 or free if you buy something. The glassware here is lovely and is available for purchase! They have six or seven different standard cider offerings as well as an iced wine type cider which is a little bit sweeter and one that incorporates an apple Brandy into it. Each different offering was unique in its bouquet, taste and finish. The apricot and pear ciders were excellent. The apricot was very light as was the pair, which resembled almost a champagne or Prosecco. The cranberry cider was divine and the dry hopped cider was really unlike anything we've had before. Get Incorporated the floral offerings of the cops, without the bitterness that tends to accompany them. It's definitely worth a try. Our favorites ended up being the Tieton Frost cider and the Tieton wind. The frost is a higher alcohol cider that resembled an ice wine, sweet in taste and just a little bit heavier. It was really good. The wind was spectacular. It was a cider blended with an apple Brandy. The flavor was very good and it provided the warmth of a brandy without the bite that generally accompanies the beverage. It's really nice and something we're looking forward to continuing to try. The only knock against this place is the location. It's in a little bit rougher part of town and unfortunately is surrounded by high chain-link fence with razor wire on top. Certainly not a dangerous place during the day, but at night time it's not the sort of spot that you would wander around outside the fences. It looks like the reason they chose this spot was because they're able to have their production facilities at the same site, so it makes sense why they did what they're doing. He doesn't seem to have been detrimental to the business at this point and as long as they're around, will continue to support it! After being away for a decade, it's nice to see these sorts of places popping up. This is one of a number of great additions to the area and one that we're excited to continue to get to know!

Yelp
We shoes up where Fred the manager and his side kick rocked our worlds! Great tasting experience and believe me I was sooo excited to join! We got to try all their on tap ciders! I feel in love with the cranberry and wind desert cider for sipping! YUMMMMY! We arrived on a Saturday about 3pm and it was a perfect time! It wasn't to busy and they didn't mind us coming in such a huge group! We bought. Few cases totally and it was great for them and ideal for us! Everyone there was having a great time! The location is perfect for a work event, mingling with a little catering in, and baby showers or to start of a bacherlotte party! We had a limo so it was perfect to start our evening for us ladies! Don't forgot to support locals and check them out!

Yelp
Great place! They provide you with a flight of all the ciders. They brought pretzels to snack on. No other food. The flavors were good. Didn't care for the Amstead kernal. The Lavendar Honey was so so, the cherry was meh. My fa b.c e was the single apple and running er rd up were the dry hop and cranberry

Yelp
On a land where IPA's are booming I can not find myself to enjoy the hop taste. So I am delighted to know I have somewhere to go and enjoy a few drinks that are not IPA. I tried their honey lavender cider one summer ago and it was the best cider! I stopped by on a Sunday to try their flight (sampler) and I had a great time. I also enjoyed their Cranberry Cider. I'll have to go for a full pitcher of cranberry on my next visit.

Yelp
Quality crafted small batch cider. Open and inviting cider house with a variety of taps to experience the full spectrum of Tieton products. Sketchy neighborhood, but don't worry, they have a huge fence - and don't forget corn-hole in front. We visited in winter, but I can imagine in the summer time the outdoor area would be mellow and enjoyable. Tieton has a strong rotation of ciders and tend on the drier side. I'm not a huge fan of sweet cider's so, I was satisfied with their base cider as well as blends - where no one flavor either apple or fruit (we had blackberry) overpowers the other. Can's and bottles available to go. Limited food menu - but really - you are there for the cider.

Karen V.

Yelp
Great cider but the ambiance was less than expected. Industrial area. Outside seating in a parking lot. This place needs picnic benches on grass under shade to really round out the ambiance.

Yelp
Tieton Cider Works seems to be a very popular cider in the Yakima area of Washington and beyond. This past summer I paid a visit to their tasting room to give them a try. I got their Dry Apple Cider and also wanted to buy a bottle of their Blossom Cider to take home which I had very high hopes for. the Dry Apple Cider I just thought was fair. It didn't seem to have a spark like some of the cideries I went to during the year. The verve and spark that you should get from a really, really good cider just wasn't there. I liked the Blossom Nectar Cider more and the taste was slight but that taste and texture that could nothing else could be described as being "alive" just wasn't there. These ciders are by no means the worst I have come across but I thought that they were just average. It was kind of disappointing but you move on. At the taproom the staff were very good, friendly and all the rest that comes with good customer service I just wasn't impressed with the products themselves.

Yelp
Nice atmosphere, great cider. A hidden gem in Yakima! Don't miss out on this spot. I didn't even know it existed until we came here!

Yelp
Love this cider place! We always stop in for a tasting and few bottles to take home! Was able to try their fresh hopped (usually just the dry blend that is bottled and a favorite!) and was so fun to enjoy for a contrast! Pumpkin flavor is in season so we purchased a few for the season! Great place to watch the game! How does everyone not know about their big screens?!

Yelp
Great cider! We tried the flight and love all of them. Plenty of parking. We enjoyed talking about the area and learning about their facility.

Yelp
Love this place! A wonderful gem in Yakima! Alex helped us right away. She allowed us to try the ciders. Then she checked in on us. I will be back the next time I come back to Yakima.

Yelp
I love a good cider but unfortunately all of Tieton's that I've tried are just too sweet for my liking. Most seem to like their ciders sweeter than I do in general though, so I'm in the minority.
google avatar

Yelp
I highly suggest anyone passing through to stop and taste with these ladies! I've been here three times and am not from the area but the last time I was remembered and greeted like an old friend, which is amazing customer service. I joined the club, but there is something for everyone here whether you prefer dry or sweet. Check it out! They won't disappoint!

Yelp
Excellent service, and delicious ciders...what more can I say! The girl working there was amazing ...she gave me extra tastings, and helped my party decide which ciders to drink. A must stop in Yakima!

Beth O.

Yelp
This was a great Yakima find! Tieton Cider Works has the most diverse cider options and it was a fun place to go during COVID times. Indoor seating available. The cider flight was well worth it!

Joel M.

Yelp
Really good cider, nice rotation of varieties. I don't like sweet ciders and have enjoyed several nice dry ones from here.

Yelp
Nice spot, very chill. Atmosphere is more geared towards a book club or a casual meeting. Cider is great. Must stop, if you ever find your self in Yakima.

Yelp
Love the cider. Some of my favorite. The cherry its the bomb. Can't wait for summer when they have more food to go with the cider

Yelp
En route from Seattle to Portland. Stopped by before turning in for the night. Glad we did. Nice Cidery with friendly staff and tasty ciders. Yum!

Yelp
Very cozy place with an incredible selection and one of the best flights of cider ever!

Yelp
I was pretty excited to go here, this is one of my favorite cider makers. Stopped by on a Monday afternoon. Door hours said they were closed but saw people so we called and they said they were open. Went in and looked around. Person working the tasting bar did not seem interested in helping us. We asked questions about various ciders and even about joining their cider club. She made no effort to get us signed up and never offered any options to do a tasting, even when we were obviously debating what to buy. Finally, we awkwardly bought a 6 pack(which it turns out costs more there than anywhere else) and left. I can't believe I drove over an hour to have this experience. Guess I need to find a different favorite cider maker. Thoroughly disappointed.

Yelp
Boy, am I ever glad to see that others have recently experienced the same things I did when I visited Tieton Cider Works. Well, truthfully, I'm not actually glad, I'm sad and disappointed that this is what is being provided. The reviews prior to these recent ones were really good, and I can only hope that the problems are rectified before serious damage is done to their reputation. My experience was so bad that I ended up leaving without purchasing what would have been several hundred dollars worth of product. After receiving no greeting upon entering, the young woman working there wander off without explanation in the middle of helping me at the register. I could not pull information or politeness out of her to save a life. My departure occurred after I told her I was so frustrated with her service that I was considering leaving. Her response was that I should go ahead and do so. Had the people coming out when I went in not been grumbling about their experience, the positive reviews I'd read would have had me believing I was the only one who felt differently. Thanks to those who have taken the time to reassure me that such was not the case.

Jerry A.

Yelp
The selection of cider was great, being from the area and coming back to visit a new place was great. The customer service could have been a little better or at least having someone who cared a little. Other than that we enjoyed the selection and did buy some ciders to take back home.

Yelp
Great cidery. The cherry is marvelous, but the cranberry is THAT good. Tart and sweet without being cloying or sugary. The tasting room is a great space, with indoor and outdoor seating and the service is terrific, too.
google avatar

Kim F.

Yelp
Interesting (albeit expensive) ciders but make sure you find out what kind of "flight" or tasting you are getting if you think you are getting one that is free with a bottle purchase. I asked for a tasting and it was $10, and I thought it was going to be free with a bottle purchase. Cha-Ching. So with the bottle it rang up to $18. What?! The sign said it was $5 and nothing else was marked. It made for a negative first and ONLY visit experience. Two stars for a clean bathroom and we could bring our own food.

Yelp
Great cider and nice selection of flavors...I like the cranberry, apricot, and cherry. Unfortunately no food here tho...but here's hoping they add something

Yelp
The staff is friendly and the cider is great. I just wish there was food!

Yelp
Fred and Leslie were such a treat! They offered great customer service, even offered us a tour which was pretty cool. We drove over from Puyallup, WA and they made it well worth our drive. I love all the Tieton ciders, delicious! Especially the blossom nectar. It's a must try.

Bill M.

Yelp
I don't know anything about their cider bar or whatever it's called. But...we tried their "Yakima Rambling Route" cider in the can and the one star rating pretty much says it all. It's tasteless, as if they canned the water they washed the apples in before making them into cider. If you've ever tried real top tier, or even second tier cider, I think you'll agree.
