"Tiger Den is a bustling nighttime Japanese eatery with a modern interior. This place is literally teeming with anticipation and movement. Their specialty is Ramen — for newbies, we suggest ordering Miso Ramen which is the Japanese equivalent of American chicken noodle soup. For the more adventurous eater, Whole Squid Teriyaki will be right up your alley." - ph Design Shop
"At the industrial ramen joint Tiger Den in Chinatown, you can slink into one of the booths and have a no-frills bowl of tonkotsu, rich tantanmen, or tsukemen. We struggle to pick one bowl that perfectly encapsulates all that is Tiger Den, but our favorite is the black bean garlic that matches savory black garlic with rich slices of pork chashu and crispy pork bits lacing the broth. Bring a friend and hunker down with a steaming bowl as you admire all of the hand-drawn artwork plastered around the restaurant." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas
"Tiger Sugar has the best brown sugar milk tea in the city. Each one comes decorated with “tiger stripes”—caramelized brown sugar syrup drizzled inside of the cup— and specific mixing instructions. After giving your drink the recommended 15 shakes, the brown sugar concoction will taste like cinnamon toast crunch made its way into your tea. Try it with cream (that makes the drink taste a little frothier), and maybe snap a selfie with the life-sized stuffed tiger that we’re convinced holds all the secrets to the shop." - gianni greene
"Tiger Den is an obvious choice for reliably good ramen from one of Asiatown’s most prolific restaurateurs. Shoyu, tonkotsu, and miso broths are on offer, in addition to a tantan sesame broth. Stick with the classic tonkotsu — it's nice and creamy and generously topped with tender pork." - Brittany Britto Garley
