The 9 Best Boba Shops In Houston

"Tiger Sugar has the best brown sugar milk tea in the city. Each one comes decorated with “tiger stripes”—caramelized brown sugar syrup drizzled inside of the cup— and specific mixing instructions. After giving your drink the recommended 15 shakes, the brown sugar concoction will taste like cinnamon toast crunch made its way into your tea. Try it with cream (that makes the drink taste a little frothier), and maybe snap a selfie with the life-sized stuffed tiger that we’re convinced holds all the secrets to the shop." - gianni greene

I recently visited Tiger sugar and it was such a fantastic experience! The boba was absolutely perfect just the right amount of sweetness. The tapioca pearls were perfectly cooked, soft yet chewy, and blended so well with the drink. The customer service was also exceptional. The staff was super friendly and happy to answer questions or recommend flavors. The whole place had a welcoming vibe. If you’re looking for a spot with amazing boba and a great overall experience, this is the place to go. I’ll definitely be coming back for more! 😊

Google
This place is my go-to spot when I’m craving delicious brown sugar milk tea. Try the (milo) version; it’s always special to me and I love it so much!

Google
Haven’t been here in about a year, and it was great. Did not disappoint— really great ratio of boba to drink, and the sweetness was perfect (extremely sweet, but boba is a guilty pleasure). Sizes seem smaller, but that may just be the distortion of time. Ordered the brown sugar boba, and prices seem a little inflated.

Google
I ordered the bestselling Brown sugar with cream mousse!! I am not sure where the cream mousse is; it just tastes like normal brown sugar milk tea. The reason I am rating this place 4 stars is because the cup wasn’t clear so I couldn’t take a nice picture… but also because the boba pearls weren’t as soft as desired. But, the taste was there! However, I expected better.

Google
Tiger Boba is a great spot. The drinks are super tasty and not too sweet, which is a win. We tried the Milo chocolate cream drink and it was greatt.Perfect place to hang out and relax for a bit.

Google
I stumbled upon Tiger Sugar after having some ramen in the same shopping center. We tried the boba taro milk with cream mousse and it was delicious!! They use real taro in this one, but have the option for another drink using taro powder. We also had the brown sugar milk with cream mousse and we thought it was a nice rich dessert-like beverage! I would recommend trying this place out!!

Google
Good place to chill a cup of iced cold tea after lunch. Their servers are so prompt and diligent to serve. Fast in the drinks preparation too. Good service 👍🏻Enjoyed their limited time promotion of having Hello Kitty print cups and cup holder. Customer need to buy a large cup of tea and entitled to buy the cup holder at priced $9.99. The printed cups comes in four designs and cup holder has two design. Collectibles item for Sanrio fans.

Google
I had their signature drink, black sugar boba + pearl with cream mousse and another one with coffee jelly. I have to say it exceeded my expectations. Their boba is cooked in brown sugar syrup which gives it a delicious chewy taste unlike other tea shops. Tiger Sugar also uses organic milk which indicates they care about the quality of their ingredients. Plus the coffee jelly was so good. I enjoyed both of my drinks, especially because it wasn’t on the sweet side and just perfectly balanced.

Yelp
Amazing milk tea and kind staff! Love the Oreo series and original milk tea. A must try spot!

Yelp
Great service! Atmosphere was very nice and the bobaristas were very helpful. 10/10 would recommend.

Yelp
I've always eyed this place and finally tried it out. I got their signature brown sugar boba 50% sweetness and man, I hated this drink. It's almost $8 post tax, incredibly sweet, no tea flavor, and the boba pearl/brown sugar syrup was sickly sweet. I unfortunately could not finish my drink (which is kind of unheard of for me). Highly disappointing.

Yelp
Meh, not my kind of place. Clean ambiance but the boba drinks are just okay. I only come here if I happen to eat at one of the restaurants at this plaza. Parking can be a nightmare, depending the day and time you go. There's so many other boba tea cafe that I don't care about this one. It's actually the worst Tiger Sugar location I have been to. Service is typical of any boba shops.

Yelp
I really enjoyed the atmosphere! drink was amazing. I got the strawberry mochi and it was delicious staff was very friendly!

Yelp
Very good boba, perfect sweetness and good tapioca pearls. Cant go wrong here. Service was timely. Inside there is not much seating so maybe not a good place for study.

Yelp
Stepped in on a Thursday night after dinner for a boba tea to sip on the drive home. I tried the brown sugar milk tea w/ light boba. It was super tasty, but slightly strong on the "tea" component.. maybe not a great nighttime beverage if caffeine is an issue. Service was fast. I'd stop in again if I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
First time coming here. I got a mango jelly green tea with 50% sugar. Taste is good but green tea seems to be a bit strong plus I couldn't get the jelly with the straw... maybe they should use a bigger straw. Nice modernized vibe with friendly staff!

Yelp
***DO NOT COME HERE. I strongly discourage it. You have been warned. If you like being treated as if you aren't human, you enjoy taking selfies with their stuffed tiger, and you like to starve, then by all means, come to this establishment. Please do take note that I innocuously ventured into this specific establishment because I was genuinely curious as to why this Tiger Sugar location was SO EMPTY compared to other locations that I've visited. Keep reading to discover some shocking observations that I learned in the following next two hours. LOCATION: This is the ONLY Tiger Sugar location that I've visited that does NOT allow any outside food or drink. It is located on a FOOD STRIP too. While I understand not bringing any outside drinks, this establishment does NOT sell any food (unless you count a TINY bag of popcorn for dinner). Additionally, unlike other locations, there aren't any board games in sight. They truly want you to buy their product and LEAVE AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. Basically this Bellaire location gives off the message "give me your money and go away". ***DO NOT COME HERE. Save your money and spend it at another bubble tea location in Chinatown! There are plenty around! AMBIANCE: They have plenty of seating inside and outlets for possible hangouts, but the workers spread this TOXIC climate that the tables were EMPTY. We went during the evening Friday night rush too, and there were barely any customers. SERVICE: Absolutely horrendous. The workers were rude. If you're Asian, they will treat you well. If you're white, like my boyfriend, then they will give you a very judgmental and disapproving look as if to question why you bothered to step into the establishment in the first place. ***DO NOT COME HERE. They will make you eat any food outside as if you are a stray animal in the brutal Texas summer heat and humidity. The workers will also observe you, like they are TSA airport security as you eat outside. How SADISTIC is that??! DRINKS: They are known for their brown sugar boba. Instead of coming here, go to Xing Fu Tang (which is down the street of Bellaire). Xing Fu Tang also lets you watch them make their brown sugar boba from scratch with clear windows. This place is overpriced and it's all hype. As my boyfriend ate outside like an animal, I drank their merchandise inside (Black Tea with Brown Sugar Boba... Go to Xin Fu Tang instead). In a nutshell, the OVERPRICED drinks are grab-and-go. This Bellaire establishment essentially wants you in and OUT as quickly as possible so the workers can do Tik Tok dance moves behind the counter. ***DO NOT COME HERE. I will NOT recommend this Bellaire establishment location to anyone. ++ If you want a place that sells delicious food, has impeccable service, a variety of drinks, complimentary charging stations, free wifi access, clean gender-neutral restrooms, lots of various seating options, AND even a printer, then go to Tom Tom's (which is located in the SAME food strip as Tiger Sugar). ***Do NOT come here. I had such a NEGATIVE experience at this Bellaire location.

Yelp
Finally tried Tiger Sugar now the initial crowd and lines has died down. Located in the newer plaza on Bellaire, among other newer trendy establishments, the surface lot has very limited parking and the garage is typically crammed. Ordered a large taro milk with boba, which came out to be around $7 before tip. The drink was well made, not too sweet and with natural taro flavor (reminds me of Meet Fresh). They were generous with the boba and taro cubes. However it was very difficult to get the taro cubes out through the thick straws. I ended up dumping everything into a bowl and finished the drink like eating cereals.

Yelp
Tiger Sugar is a famous boba place and I finally got to try it! The plaza is full of trendy establishments so parking was difficult to find. The interior is clean and cool as there was a tiger photo op. We ordered the boba milk pudding w/cream mousse but unfortunately there was no pudding at the time. The drink was about $5.50. The drink was a simple milk, brown sugar syrup, mixed sized bobas. It was sweet and creamy. Can't go wrong with a brown sugar latte with boba!

Yelp
I came into Tiger Sugar eager because I had seen the brand in the Phillipines several years ago. I am a huge fan of brown sugar milk tea and am extremely picky. The ambience in the store was really nice and decor is modern and trendy. The worker behind the counter gave me great advice on sweetness levels and the different size of tapioca pearls. Definitely in my top 3 for brown sugar milk tea in Houston.

Yelp
Ordered the black sugar coffee latte with no ice and no boba. It literally tasted like coffee and a lot of milk. No other flavor. I like that it's not super sweet. Overall no wow-factor. Not sure if it's because I got no toppings. Rating: 3/5 One thing that stood out to me is they use organic milk (Horizon brand). The spot looks pretty and fancy. Maybe I'll come back for their most popular drink.

Yelp
Good service and awesome drinks! We got the passion fruit green tea and tiger cheese green tea.

Yelp
It was only a handful of years (#1) when Tiger Sugar made its debut in Taiwan before making landfall in the US not long after. Typically the first locations to make their American debuts are in cities with sizeable Asian communities. This is all the more reason I'm proud to have a Tiger Sugar right here in Houston. The place pivoted hard to take out only during the pandemic but despite how big this place is, there isn't a whole lot of seating. During their initial run, there were lines left and right regardless of the days. Parking can be a challenge due to the plaza, wifi is unknown, bathrooms are clean and I love the tiger stuffed animal as a main decor piece. Only hardcore boba fans will know the brown sugar craze that has taken the boba milk tea world by storm was largely influenced by the Tiger Sugar brand (#2). Many of the drinks here have some element of brown sugar in them, sans the oolong and black tea with cheese foam. Their classic boba milk is the kind of sweetness that makes each sip a little more addicting than the next. I personally don't think there is a bad drink in the house. While some may knock the lack of variety in flavors (#3), it's important to remember that this is a specialty spot. The actual tapioca balls are average, but that doesn't really diminish the brown sugar edge for me personally. The only true knock of course may be the service. It hasn't always been the most warm but I think the product takes precedence in the end. _____________ (#1) Literally one handful. 2017. (#2) Does that make me hardcore? Oh. (#3) Want your wintermelon / taro / matcha slush? Look somewhere else.

Yelp
This place is always my top favorite because 1) their boba is perfectly made and I am a big texture person when it comes to boba, and 2) lactose intolerant options for milk tea!! We really need to normalize that so our people can enjoy more milk teas, man. I recently became super obsessed with their Taro Milk with Boba!! It tastes fresh with their taro chunks and I like to sub the milk with oat milk and it makes this drink so tasty and addicting. I definitely went back two days in a row for it. My bf can testify LOL. If you're a taro-lover, def try this one. He got the classic Brown Sugar Boba Milk, which is also an absolute favorite! It is super aesthetic for pics~

Yelp
3.5/5 I would rank Tiger Sugar a 3.5 out of 5. The boba is cooked well, but taste wise it's just average. The workers are nice and try to make conversation with you. I think it's a cool place to try for your first time, but I see myself going to other boba shops in the area.
google avatar

Liza K.

Yelp
Alright, so the only real ding on this place is that there isn't all of the variety that I am use too at other boba tea places. However, what they lack in variety they make up in tiger kitties! They have this huge tiger stuffed animal just lying on a stand saying, "Love me," or at least it looks like it would say that. Then they have this itty bitty cowboy tiger by the registrar. It is sooooo cute. Like, "OH MY GOODNESS," cute. Now as for the teas, they have some good tea, I believe I ordered the jasmine with boba. I liked my tea and was able to finish it very quickly. The inside while narrow, was clean and friendly. The service was very quick, which was interesting considering how many people kept coming in. I barely sat down to get my order, only to hear our number called. I don't usually see that fast of tea service in other places in this area, so I will say that was quite impressive. I loved the tea. Not too sugary, not too bitter. It had that Goldilocks effect, but as always you could ask for a whole lot more sugar if necessary. It's a nice relaxed, laid back place. If it wasn't for the atrocious parking in the area, I'd probably frequent this place more.
google avatar

Yelp
Service was suuuper friendly and funny. Drink was sooooo good too. Super chill place! This plaza has the best food and drinks! Definitely try each place
google avatar

Tiffany C.

Yelp
Was super excited when this place opened up as I've had it in Taiwan and it was really good. However this particular location is a let down. When I'm paying almost $10 for boba I expect a quality drink. This place is most famous for their signature milk and boba drinks, but every time I try it the boba are mushy and powdery. Either it's not fresh or not made correctly. And it feels like a rip off to pay $10 for milk and black sugar if the boba isn't good. Wish I could love this place more, but with the stiff competition and plethora of choices within a 0.5 mi radius, it's hard to get me to want to come back.

Yelp
Good, not great. After hearing the hype about Tiger Sugar, I decided to stop by and try some drinks. #4: brown sugar boba milk + pearl with espresso + cream mousse - strong espresso flavor with a nice amount of sweetness from the brown sugar. This drink came with regular boba plus mini boba. I am personally not a huge fan of the mini bobas for two reasons: 1. the size makes it too easy to accidentally swallow with each sip and 2. if by chance some happen to miss a straight shot down your throat, the small size takes away from any chewiness. There are no sweetness or ice adjustments for this drink. I was slightly concerned at first since I am fairly sensitive to sweetness. I always go with no additional sugar or 25/30% at most places. However, there was just the right amount of brown sugar that didn't make the drink too sweet. I am not sure I really tasted the cream mousse. 1: brown sugar boba milk + pearl with cream mousse. This one had a very strong caramel flavor. Again, this came with a mix of boba and mini boba. Main downside for me is the lack of sweetness adjustment and the drinks are a little pricey for the cup sizes. The staff was super nice and explained everything well.
google avatar

Alexus N.

Yelp
Their "famous for" drink Black Sugar Boba Milk Tea + Mousse does not disappoint! I took a small sip because I can't do dairy like that, but I def would recommend it to any milk tea fanatic. Personally, I like the Taiwan Black Vintage Tea + Egg Pudding. That's my fave here. Weekends are a little bit busier during the daytime hours. Parking is sort of limited but there's a garage in walking distance.
google avatar

Christine H.

Yelp
Yes I know that Tiger Sugar is very commercialized but I like the drinks here. I got the signature Brown Sugar Milk. My drink came out super quick. The drink has sweet brown sugar syrup with chewy boba pearls in a milky drink mixture. It was pretty good and I wouldn't mind trying more drinks from the menu next time. Not to mention, I do like the cute tiger decor!
google avatar

Jenny M.

Yelp
Sip and enjoy! Tiger Milk Teas has been one of the top milk tea in Asia and now it's here in the US it is known for its Brown Sugar Milk Tea (they are the one who introduced this in Asia) so no doubt about the quality. The place was so cool and instagram-able. Crew were nice.

Yelp
I am from Austin and there are unfortunately no Tiger Sugars in my area. Every time I am in Houston I make it a point to stop by a Tiger Sugar for their signature drink. The service in this specific Tiger Sugar is the best that I've everrrr experienced. It's always super chill and clean inside. Tien was really helpful and answered all my questions when I came in today. Highly recommend this location!

Yelp
Boba in Houston, Texas... We actually wanted to go to the dessert place next door, but the line to get in was so very long! Tiger Sugar just opened up in Honolulu and I had gone to the Grand Opening. Lisa hadn't been, so, she was willing to try. Known for its brown sugar boba, Tiger Sugar originated from Taiwan and is the leader in the industry. The boba is tasty, soft, and chewy! This Houston location shares a busy parking lot, fronting a strip mall with many eateries. The interior is nicely air conditioned and has simple, modern decor with a large plushie tigress and her cubs. Service was efficient. We were able to sit down to wait for our orders and then enjoy our drinks! I got the Golden Oolong Tea with boba. It was refreshing and satisfying! It's nice to see a familiar shop while traveling! The consistency is comforting!

Yelp
Located at Bellaire Food Street complex in Chinatown with a small parking garage and additional spots out front. I visited on a Sunday afternoon and there was no line at the store, but parking was very limited. However, weekdays have plenty of parking. Ordered #1 which came with boba and pearls for $5.25. They do not allow you to adjust the sweetness level or ice. The taste had a milky, creamy flavor which I liked. A lot of people coming in to get drinks, but they make them fast so wait time is short. I recommend!
google avatar

Sophie Y.

Yelp
Tried this in Hong Kong when it first opened in 2019. You can't adjust the level of sweetness nor ice. Took my husband there today since he hasn't tried it. No line at 1 pm on Sunday, yeah! Ordered #1 and it came with pearls and bobas for $5.25. Tasted good but a bit too sweet for me. Cream mousse definitely helped in balancing the sweetness but bobas are already sweet! No loyalty program and glad hubby got to try!

Yelp
Meh too sweet and very expensive!! Inside was very hot and looking for parking is bad.... Only cute thing is the hello kitty cups

Yelp
You don't come here to play golf. For that, you go to Tiger Woods Sugar. And I hear a lot of expensive perfect girls have had Tiger Woods' Sugar. I tried Tiger Sugar in Flushing in Queens and then also in Manhattan. In both cases the drink was honestly miniature - surprisingly tiny and overpriced - but honestly pretty damn good. In both cases service was a nightmare and should have earned one star. If you want to be a baddie from Britain, go instead to Jaguar Sugar and buy a car. Service is better here although not perfect. Much friendlier than the ones in New York. If you don't like to play by the rules, go instead to Cheetah Sugar. Unfortunately the products on the other hand are similarly small and similarly overpriced and yet somehow not nearly as good. If you want to send me HTTP addresses to click on, go first to Lynx Sugar. Maybe I was caught up in a fervor and the magic when I was in New York and was overrating them, or maybe they just make them better in New York, but so far I haven't found them up to New York standards. If you are a big fan of Malcolm X as I am, then go instead to Black Panther Sugar. However it's nice to have one of these here, and I will come back and give them another try a couple more times, maybe to see if they can go up to 5, or down to three. And if you can't spot this place from the road, go instead to Leopard Sugar, which you can always Spot. If you want to try the King Of Bobas instead, then go instead to Lion Sugar. I'd tell you I've been there myself, but I'd be Lion to you.
google avatar

Eunice S.

Yelp
I recommend this because of the Tiger Sugar Tea consistency when it comes to taste. I gave it just 3 stars because the service was poor. They made a mistake of putting a topping on one of my orders and instead of offering to make me a new one, they simply removed the topping but there was still some. Also they were not nice about it considering its their fault and not mines. The facility was clean but could use a bit more lighting.
google avatar

Sarah K.

Yelp
Something about their milk tea makes me crave it all the time. It has a distinct milky yet creamy consistency similar to melted ice cream and it's actually super delicious! My husband, who doesn't even have much of a sweet tooth can down a whole cup in two seconds because it's that good LOL. My only issue: why do they not let you make ANY type of adjustments to their drinks!? Half sweet? No. Light ice? Don't even think about asking!!!!
google avatar

Varsha V.

Yelp
It can get pretty busy, but they move pretty quickly. The brown sugar boba milk is great! They do charge extra for no ice
google avatar

Jeremy D.

Yelp
Short and sweet review for this place! If you're looking for great boba, look no further. I came to try it out last week, and definitely left feeling satisfied! I got the boba drink where they top it off with milo, and it was delicious! It tasted exactly like it sounds: chocolate milk with and milk tea fusion. But if you're not into that, they have plenty of other drinks to choose from! They also have great service and they help you if you ask them for recommendations (I asked for the sweetest drink). If you're in this plaza, definitely come try out Tiger sugar and all the other cute little places on this building strip.
google avatar

Moni T.

Yelp
Really appreciate they use quality ingredients, and you can taste it. Love the pure taste of the organic whole milk, perfectly sweetened black sugar milk tea, and freshly cooked chewy boba. Not too sweet, just right. The only reason for 4 starts is because of the price, the cup is significantly smaller than other boba places and it is more expensive. Also, I am not sure if they offer any non-dairy milk options. But their tea is good too.
google avatar

Joanne C.

Yelp
Had to come out and try the talked about brown sugar boba milk tea with cream mousse. I will honestly say it was good but, something I would not go out of my way to get again. I have gong cha close to me and their brown sugar boba is either similar or even better. They get 4 stars because it was tasty but I wasn't in love to give 5 stars. The facility was clean and great directions on maintaining 6 ft to get to the cash register to order then back in another line to pick up your order. Plenty of hand sanitizer stations to rub rub those germs away.

Yelp
I chose Tiger Sugar as the place for my first boba after the pandemic started. The reason? Well the pics on Instagram look pretty good. AdmittedlyI am not above the influence of social media. My expectation is not high due to my loyalty with Gong Cha Oolong Milk Tea with white pearls. That drink has been my number 1 boba for the last few years. Nevertheless I decided to walk into tiger sugar one rainy Friday afternoon. The line was not so bad; i only had a couple of people ahead of me. I ordered the brown sugar milk tea with boba and jello, their signature drink I believe. The 3 cups of milk tea took about 5 mins to be prepared. The staff told me to shake the drinks before consumption. Cool The drinks looked good in hand like any pair of Air Jordan 1 OG colorway. I saved two drinks for my mom and my wife but the third one would be shaken for the immediate taste test. First sip,it was not too sweet, checked. The second sensation was the texture of pudding and boba blending with the tea. Third thing I noticed was a little kick of bitterness. Sorry Gongcha. You were dethroned. Tiger Sugar is now my number one boba joint. Mom tasted the drink later and liked it. My wife loved it and agreed that this drink would be our number one drink of our household. Five star. Period. Drop the mic

Yelp
Tiger Sugar was overall solid! I wouldn't say they are worth waiting in line for over an hour good, but when it comes to brown sugar boba drinks specifically, this place is #1. To keep it short and sweet though, Pros: The 2 types of tapioca (boba and pearls) are PERFECTION, aesthetically pleasing (IG worthy), decent variety of drinks yet quality standards are consistent throughout Cons: A tad expensive (A #1 was just barely under $6 w/ tax), the drink was just a hair too sweet but still enjoyable, a lot of their menu items are still unavailable, and expect a long line during peak hours. As far as Covid protocols goes, everyone was wearing masks, employees were all wearing gloves, hand sanitizer was available when you walked in, and the line was socially distanced in 6ft marker increments. I'm really happy Tiger Sugar opened in the relatively new Bellaire Food Street complex. I know for sure, I'll be back again soon to try more of their menu. Hopefully eventually they will allow dining in, and not just take out once Covid gets a little more under control.

Yelp
I first tried Tiger Sugar in Taiwan so I was excited about it opening in Houston. They are known for their brown sugar milk, which can be pretty heavy and rich--it is essentially whole milk with brown sugar and boba. I came here with a friend and we waited for 45 minutes in a line. I don't think I would do this again but it was a good experience for one time. I got the black milk tea with mousse and boba, 1/2 sweet. The flavor of the tea was good and not too strong or sweet. The boba were squishy and the perfect amount of chewy. For $4-5 it's a little bit on the pricier side and not that big of a portion. I recommend checking it out, but probably will wait for the hype to die down before coming back.

Yelp
Roughly 3 weeks after the grand opening, we stopped by on a rainy Saturday night about an hour before it closed when there wasn't a long line. It's located in the newish Bellaire Street Food center. There were around 3 parties in line with 5 more parties waiting for their drinks at 8:05 pm but it moved steadily. It was my first time visiting a Tiger Sugar. We got: SIGNATURE BLACK SUGAR W/CREAM MOUSSE AND BOBA AND PEARLS - Perfectly sweet with tender boba , but remember to shake beforehand. Nothing bad to say. BLACK SUGAR BLACK TEA LATTE W/ PEARLS - Also, don't forget to shake thoroughly before enjoying. This is Tiger Sugar's version of a milk tea. It's not as sweet as the other one (which wasn't all that sweet to begin with) but the boba was still great. I didn't like it as much and thought it was okay overall. Note: Pearls are smaller tapioca balls and boba are larger tapioca balls. Also, there's only one size cup and you cannot adjust the sugar/ice levels. They use organic milk and there are no vegan alternatives other than straight up tea that I can see. If you're vegan and don't react well to caffeine, you may be out of luck here. It took about 15 minutes to wait in line, order, and get the drinks. The establishment was roomy and well lit, though most of it was cordoned off for lines and reserved for waiting. It appears to be dine in only for the time being, as no chairs or tables were spotted. I imagine that might change as the pandemic passes and the hype dies down over time. So what is my verdict? My actual rating is 3.5 stars (but I rounded up) because of the decreased value for what you pay and how I really liked only 1 out of 2 drinks. I am glad I didn't wait the 1+ hours for the drinks when they first opened, not that it was an option with an active toddler. Their signature is my favorite drink and they have excellent tapioca across the two drinks we tried, but at $5.25 per cup (and each cup is on the small side - 16 oz, give or take? - that I was easily able to finish it myself and I normally share), it's not something I would call a regular thing or even reasonably priced. However, it is a delicious treat, so go ahead and enjoy with friends or as a once in a while thing. Heck - go ahead and have it regularly if that makes you happy. No one will judge. :)

Yelp
One week after opening weekend, Tiger Sugar still has lines out the door, bringing even more life to the row of restaurants on Bellaire Food Street. With a healthy dose of skepticism from our unimpressive visits to the branch in Carrollton, my friend O. and I made this our second stop after an early dinner at Shabu Zone. If you can find parking in the crowded complex, that's a good signal that you should go ahead and wait in line - it moves quicker than it looks, and took us about 20 minutes to get to the front. This time, I ordered the Black Sugar Boba Green Tea Latte with Cream Mousse (truly a mouthful!) as a lower caffeine option, while O. got the classic Black Sugar Boba + Pearl with Cream Mousse. We waited an additional 10 minutes for our drinks to be made, but do be aware that it can be more cramped inside - avoid peak times if you're strictly social distancing! After snapping the obligatory Insta photos, we poked our straws in - over time, the drinks lose their characteristic stripes, so once you get your picture feel free to shake it up as advised. The boba is top-notch, as expected - a little on the softer side, but uniform in texture and warm when first handed to you. Compared to our past experiences, I think this branch has a more deft hand when it comes to the ratio of tea to milk to sugar - my "default" drink was appropriately sweet (even for me, who usually orders 30% or 50% sweetness) and the flavor of the tea was significant enough to be noticeable, though it definitely took a back seat to the predominant tastes of caramel and dairy. I had a sip of O.'s drink and was also pleasantly surprised by the restraint in sugar level. For both choices, I didn't understand the point of the cream mousse - other places that specialize in milk or cheese foam have special lids that allow you to sip the creamy layer, whereas it seems here that it just gets mixed on inversion with no added boost to flavor or texture. tl,dr: Does the product live up to the hype? Yes - but with a limited menu at premium prices, you likely won't make Tiger Sugar your go-to boba stop.

Yelp
So many people tried Tiger Sugar without me! I think the hype died down but it can still get pretty busy. But I guess it's a good thing because there wasn't that long of a wait to get my drink and everyone working was super sweet and had some pretty good recommendations! At first I got the signature tiger sugar drink with the cream foam or whatever it's called with both baby and regular boba. It's so pretty and they tell you to shake it up at least 15 times to get everything incorporated. It was not too sweet and I like, chugged it lol. That means it must have been good! After I finished my drink, I looked at my friend and asked if we could go back for another one, and she was like "Right now right now?" LOL, YES!!! I walked right back in and ordered the tiger sugar drink with Milo on top (malted chocolate powder) and that was good too! Also not too sweet. I would definitely go back since I'm a black sugar boba lover!

Yelp
Tried Tiger Sugar for the first time ever in Carrollton TX and truthfully have never stopped thinking about it! I was so excited when they announced they were coming to Houston. I've already tried coming three times on separate occasions and I've never been able to get a drink. The line is ridiculously long despite the grand opening being several weeks ago, or they close super early for a boba place (9 PM), it's hard to swing by after a quick dinner on a work day. Be prepared to wait at least 45 mins - 1 hour before getting your order, mainly because of the inefficiency of the staff and the fact that every customer orders at least 4-6 drinks per transaction. I always get the signature drink, which IMO is the best dirty brown sugar boba I've ever tried. It's not too sweet yet super creamy. It is a little better than Gong Cha which is why I keep coming back. For just the drink itself -- 5 stars. I see why this is a hit, and yes, I would totally come back for this drink. The reason for the 3 stars is the lack of efficiency. It's impossible for the Tiger Sugar staff of overhearing administration to not see that they're busy, yet each drink is made literally one by one, taking to so much unnecessary time for 1 drink instead of a standardized assembly line which could make the line and turnover time go so much faster. Also, there's improvement to be desired when there's only 1 person as the cashier bottlenecking the rest of the line. Delicious boba, but I can't imagine with the continued inefficiency, people are willing to wait this long for a small drink.

Yelp
Casual night grabbing boba. I order the boba latte with oat milk. There are options for soy as well but these will cost you extra .50 cents. Got my drink within 5 mins. Taste was good, not too sweet.

Yelp
I stopped by here a few days after opening day weekend, and the line was out the door. A worker said that the end of the line was the last customers they were serving that night, so I came back today excited to see if it lived up to the hype. Unfortunately, I felt it was lacking as far as milk tea goes. The first issue is that there is no option of customizing sweetness and ice levels. The manager has been replying to other yelpers saying that they select a perfect ratio of milk, sugar, and tea, but as far as I'm concerned, the one I had was too sweet. Not being able to select a lower % is an issue only this establishment has vs all other boba places it seems. Secondly, I would say the tea flavor is way too subtle and borderline nonexistent. It tastes like the sweet milk left over after you eat cereal, or literally just brown sugar with milk. I had tea top right after, and it was obvious it was a tiger sugar thing and not my mind playing tricks on me. Lastly, from a value standpoint, it's about $5.25 for a size that would normally be a small-medium at another boba establishment, which is pretty wild to me when there are so many places within a miles distance that serve what I believe to be a better product at a better value. Overall I think it may be a good milk tea to recommend to someone who has never had milk tea before and wants as subtle tea flavor as one can muster, likes the exact sweetness of Tiger sugars tea, and does not mind paying more for less (and also wants an aesthetic picture for social media). But in all other situations, I would try out a different establishment instead.

Yelp
My sister got their special drink togo for me. Surprisingly the level of sweetness is perfect, and their boba texture is by far one of the best. I definitely will come back to try their own drink before giving a full blown 5 stars.

Yelp
I mean what's not to love about Tiger Sugar. Taste on point and definitely love the smaller pearl boba.

Yelp
Came here after hearing the hype, certainly a standout from most Boba place in terms of flavor and presentation. Milk, cream, sugar...can't really go wrong! Atmosphere: Chill modern vibe, I didn't stay long as I took my order to go but there's a nice sit down area to wait for your order after you've placed it upfront at the store. Of course complete with Tiger plushies to take pictures with if needed. Food: As stated above can't really go wrong with Milk and sugar. The standout here being their brown sugar original. Gives it that nice "tiger stripe" look but the taste, being the most important, this very sweet treat without tasting too overwhelming. To note though sugar levels cannot be lowered (at least I recall). With that said one of the better boba teas I've tried for sure. Service: Quick service, friendly and able to answer any questions if needed. Drinks come out near the counter top after the order is completed and then are ready to go, all you need is straw. For sure to me one of the standout boba tea drink stores in the Bellaire Houston area. I'd certainly return for any non-fruit boba tea cravings.

Yelp
I believe what I ordered was the black sugar boba + pearl w/ cream mousse (#1 on the menu). The perfect amount of sweetness and the boba balls were the chewy and not hard. My daughter is picky about her boba drinks and she really enjoyed it. Would give it 5 stars, but it is a bit pricey.
