First time I tried the novelty that was Tiger Sugar was... (fun fact) in Bangkok, where it was $2.50 for the classic signature drink. The cup was filled with ice, so I asked my friend that went to a Tiger Sugar before in Flushing, NY (which was a bit over $6 back then) and he commented that even over there, they put a boat load of ice. I wasn't really impressed with the drink, so I did not intend to try it again, but I decided to give it a second try here in Seattle.
This spot was grand opening this past Saturday, June 18, but I avoid crowds and cannot put up with hours of waiting just for boba (with the crowds, they may cut corners with quality / mess up orders) so I decided to not make the visit anytime soon. However, today I got peer pressured cause Tiger Sugar was on the way. Barely any line (5 min wait max), and I got the #1 signature drink (black sugar boba + pearl milk with cream mousse). The drink is aesthetic, and you need to shake it so that the sweetness is relatively even. The drink actually is not super sweet which was a nice surprise, and unlike my first experience, they only filled the cup with 20% ice! I think a loooot of people give them a hard time and complain (especially the first few days of opening) that they gave way too much ice. Especially given that it is almost $7 for a drink here.
I only gave 4 stars because it was "better than I expected." The drink itself is more like 3 stars, and it is definitely overhyped. There is a nice black sugar taste, but it was not necessarily creamy - it tasted just like regular milk.
