"Tigers Taproom, a new beer bar and bottle shop, is opening soon near Jack London Square, taking over the former World Ground Cafe space. It will feature 16 beers on tap alongside a selection of cans and bottles for takeaway. The taproom will focus exclusively on Bay Area beers, including those from local neighborhood breweries like Federation Brewing, Independent Brewing, Original Pattern Brewing, and the yet-to-open Oakland United Beerworks, as well as Ghost Town Brewing, Faction Brewing, and Temescal Brewing. Plans include showcasing a wide range of beer styles and limited releases, eventually expanding to beers from California and Oregon." - Janelle Bitker

Google
Great taproom, the owner was super knowledgeable and definitely had a love for beer. We ended up doing some flights, and were really happy with all the options. Fun beer week lineup as well with a bunch of So Cal beers on tap. Definitely going back to this taproom next time I'm in Jack London.

Google
Awesome place with great variety of tap and canned beers and very loyal audience. We’re there for the first time on Sofar event and can tell that the atmosphere was amazing! The only thing that I can ask as a not a beer person a couple more of ciders would be really great(:

Google
I have traveled far and wide, but I have never been to a place as homely and lovely as Brian’s bar. This is the true neighborhood bar representing the best of Oakland, and it's the best place to be if you have nowhere else to go. The taproom is therapeutic for the soul, and you'll either walk out happy or feeling special. I hope all of you will visit. Great beer, and it's awesome that you can bring your dogs too. Overall, an amazing community bar!

Google
I love Tigers Taproom for many reasons. When you walk in you are greeted by the owners who are extremely knowledgeable in the craft beer world. The taps are always changing so you have something new to try. Tigers also have many cans to choose from if you can’t stick around for a beer. Do you like to play board games while you drink? Perfect because they have them too. I also enjoy the food trucks that are parked out front. Depending on the night your options are: tacos, pizza, German and even hamburgers. Please bring your service dogs for me to pet.

Google
I was on the way to a different brewery in the area but they were closed and I’m glad I found this spot. The staff are down to earth and friendly and the atmosphere was perfect for what I was looking for (getting a little work done along with a pint).

Google
Love coming here for a drink to just a place to hang out. Also bike and pet friendly! Great rotating beer selection. Oh and they play Zag games!!! Brian is amazing, love what they have done with the place and what they have brought to the neighborhood.

Google
I don't know why this place isn't more packed. The bartenders are so attentive & knowledgeable, The beer is fresh & delicious, and the ambiance is second to none! We've been doing a gauntlet of this area of jack London square. What an unexpected amazing experience. This was stop 4/4 of the day and I give it 5/5! Keep it up Tigers bar, I can't wait to see you guys again soon!

Google
Nice place to be after hard day. The staff is great and welcoming. The beers and food are delicious.

Yelp
Enjoyed a tasty Santa's Little Helper stout while on a date. Tiger's provided a casual atmosphere with a spattering of other patrons on a Tuesday during happy hour time. I didn't register any music, but maybe it was just quiet and I was engaged in conversation. Looks like it might be a cool place to check out on a hopping weekend evening on the outdoor patio.

Karina G.

Yelp
Fantastic taproom serving up a cool variety of pours (from beer to cider and even mead!) They often have pop-up food vendors and tons of regular events throughout the week. In a great area with tons of free parking (because ya'll are sleeping on the Jack London area!) Highly recommend brewery hopping in this neighborhood and ending it at Tigers!

Michael B.

Yelp
Best taproom in Oakland! The owner, Brian, works hard to find cool beers for your enjoyment. I'm an old school West Coast malty/hoppy IPA fan and when I walk in Brian always points me to beers that I would like. On weekends, there is usually a food truck just outside for your dining pleasure. Do yourself a favor and swing on by!

angela u.

Yelp
The best dog friendly bar in Oakland! Love the vending machine for the fur babies. Great brews and cool vibes!

Dakota T.

Yelp
Came here last weekend for beer week and had a great time! Everyone was super friendly and they had a great selection of beer. They have a good amount of outdoor and indoor seating and they are dog friendly. Additionally they had a bunch of board games in there, I love it when a bar has games and encourages a cozy vibe!

Michael W.

Yelp
I've been coming here for years. Brian runs a great establishment. There's an entire crew dedicated to coming in. The rotating tap always presents the best of Bay Area (and beyond) craft brewing. I wish there was more room because it can get pretty crowded during events. There's almost always a food truck or stall. Get the empenadas if it's Las Marinaras.

Jamie E.

Yelp
I went into the bar looking for a place to wind down and get on my laptop, and this bartender.... After asking what soda waters or water they have on tap was...he replied with " we prefer if you buy something to we

Jeff R.

Yelp
Still a total 5 star location! Brian and Danny constantly have events, new and fun food trucks outside, and always have a nice variety on tap. Other places might have more on tap, but the neighbor feel and friendliness of the customers and owners really make this place one of my favorites in all of Oakland! I actually bought a growler of the Cara Cara Bang Bang sour to take home and make some carnitas! I'm not a huge sour beer person, but this stuff tastes JUST like orange juice. It ended up being an awesome dish!

James M.

Yelp
We stopped here as part of our summer social beer crawl this year. We came in the late afternoon when it was pretty much empty. Service was of course solid given we were the only group in there. Everyone was happy with the wide beer selection, numerous board games, cute bathrooms with chalkboard walls and tons of cans and bottles from local breweries to take home. Pros: Industrial and clean yet cozy feel, fun board games and good beer on tap. Great for bigger groups. Cons: Nothing comes to mind

Giovanna R.

Yelp
Great location (particularly because I love so close!) and usually guaranteed sun most days. A lot of the breweries hear here can be drafty, but this one gives you all the sunshine needed on a nice day, and with a beer in your hand? You're set. Various taco trucks and a pizza vendor are in rotation during the week, so you're set there too. I've tried the pizza, which I thought was ok (a bit too healthy and lacked flavor). The gyro truck was super tasty tho! I also heard of a good Hawaiian food truck too, but have yet to try it. I love how they rotate their beer flavors, so you'll always have something new to explore!

Ally Y.

Yelp
Great tap selection, very kind staff, great outdoor seating to see all the doggos out for their walks (they even have treats available for dogs!! ). We only stopped by for a quick visit but we'll definitely be back for more beers at another time

Shawn A.

Yelp
All outside sitting and Covid protocols followed. Easy ordering and paying system via barcodes and friendly hosts. Beer variety was also good and served our purpose. Would like to come back again when it is a bit warmer so we don't need the outside heaters.

Chris L.

Yelp
Went here before a concert for an SF Beer week event. Tasty beers on tap and a food truck outside. Nice vibe and plenty of seating. Recommended if you're a craft beer drinker.

Jie L.

Yelp
Super friendly local beer place. The owner/bartender knows almost all his customers. They get new beer selections every day. It's a great place to grab a beer at the end of the day. I do have to say, their selections are unique and great, but it does come at a few dollars more depending on the beer. I would say the options are worth the price tho.

Matt G.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, the owner, Brian, is very awesome, attentive and kind. Good selection of brew on tap and solid few fridges with cans. Going back soon!

John R.

Yelp
This is a great new'ish to me neighborhood spot. They just celebrated their 1 year anniversary, which nicely coincides with the rise of several nearby apartment buildings. I hope that means they'll be here for the long haul! What to get there? They have 14-16 beers on tap all the time; I favor the lighter beers like pilsners or weissbeer but if you want double IPAs they've got that too. There are trivia night and game nights a few times a month (follow them on instagram @tigerstaproom to find the dates), and food options Tuesday through Sunday. My favorites are East Oakland Smoke on Thursdays and D.O.G. hot dogs on Sundays, but I'm looking at Street Steam Bunz on Fridays as my next thing to try. Tuesdays is La Santa Torta, Wednesdays Las Marianas, and Saturdays DCQUE BBQ. So something for everyone. Enjoy!

Alisa P.

Yelp
Superbowl kickoff starts (even if it's just 2 o'clock Friday afternoon) at this kicka_s spot! Nice punt that sets the tone for Niner over Chiefs, relax I meant Niners versus Chiefs...or do I? Rotating delish Brews are yumsters and served perfectly chill! Been here once b4 and still solid. Vibe music playing, clean and aesthetic, chains off the doors at 2pm just right after your last Friday work meetings or heck hold meeting here. Awesome cool service by owners Danny and Brian. No tubes but they put out out a big screen 110" projector for games (that's probably part of the playbook) so don't be deflated (Patriots no punn intended), you can watch game(s) here!!! Watch Superbowl 54 here or fly with me to Miammmmi babe. 9 (start work hour), 5 (end of work hour), 49 hut hut!

Kate C.

Yelp
Friendly, knowledgeable staff Great drink selection! Sidewalk barrel tables are comfortable and unpretentious, which is rare in this section of Oakland dining and drinking

Maxfield F.

Yelp
Okay, I've been back many times now. Something about this place makes me feel incredibly welcomed every time. The employees and the patrons are all just here to have a good time and make sure everyone is enjoying themselves. I mean I went in recently and they surprised a regular with a birthday cake! This spot has me locked in, it's got it's own little thriving community and I love it. I will keep coming back for the good times and especially the Underberg.

Rosita L.

Yelp
We came here during our tandem bike and ordered Pink Flamingo and Old Ecodate beer (forgot the name) but they both amazing! We also loved the ambience and the space. I went there in a big group over 20 people and we can actually fit everyone in one table! The only downside is maybe they only have snacks and not real food (I mean like, maybe gourmet or hot food..) and the chips are on the higher price as well. But afterall, we would definitely go back again if we're in Oakland area !

Parag B.

Yelp
Great owners who are friendly and love beer as much as I do. Taps change often and there is plenty of options for beers. I like sour beer and nitro. I'm glad that they have beer that I enjoy drinking. They do not have did, but food trucks are right outside.

Victor G.

Yelp
Tiger's Taproom takes over World Ground Cafe. TIger himself greets patrons at the front door with a silent glance over. then over to the next. sometimes he's motionless, resembling a stature. Beer hall has a roomfull of seats.a few seats at the counter. lots of standing room. people on the go can grab some from the beer fridge for grab and go. offerings: 15 taps of various styles of beers and a cider on draught-many types beer:ipa, sours, stouts, cider, belgian, lager, etc. -easy walking distance from many condos, no uber needed -parking space available nearby -this pub will not be televised-no t.v. present -friendly staff and patrons... -16 pours- reasonable pricing. beers from east bay sources. -tues-sunday, 2-10p.m.

Tsatsaa M.

Yelp
Love coming to Tiger's Taproom, so convenient and offers great choice of beer! The owners, Danny and Brian, are amazing.

Anne Z.

Yelp
Great selection of beer that changes every week. Perfect for just hanging out with friends, no screens and a bunch of board games:) Brian and Danny are the best and do a great job at getting to know the neighborhood. Love this taproom!

Nathan K.

Yelp
Love love love it!! This is a beautiful place that has a noticeable sense of warmth when you walk in. Love the local vibe it seems to embrace! Every time I have been in there has been a diverse local selection of beers. I personally love trying new beers, and Tigers always seems to have a new beer I haven't tried. The beers are also unique to their style, selection is not just 10 types of IPAs, the staff does a great job of sourcing all styles and quality within each style. They have 16 taps, and a great selection in a fridge to take to go. Always fast service and open parking, I find myself stopping by for a beer and to pick up some beer to go because it's so convenient (in a rush it's the quickest stop I know). Also they seem to have food trucks pretty frequently, which is nice. 21 and over only! The photography is awesome and adds a nice something little extra that makes it stand out even more against other beer bars. Without a doubt this place will join my standard stomping grounds!!

Emma W.

Yelp
The 5 star rating does not lie. Impeccable service and stellar menu of diverse beers. My friends and I stopped by on a Saturday night an hour before close and were served right away at the bar. We hadn't had dinner yet so were starving. They only serve snacks like chips, but they had hosted a Friendsgiving potluck on this night. We inquired about the food laying out near the back and our bartender/co-owner told us that we could have some of the leftovers! It was a Thanksgiving miracles in our eyes! Seriously, how generous! As for the beer - I had their festbier on tap and it was refreshing and delicious. My friends loved their picks too. They serve a ton of local beers and we loved all the homages to the breweries depicted in the photos on their walls. They have a selection board games, in which my friends and I had a blast battling each other at an intense game of Sequence. Plenty of seating and bathrooms are super clean. Can't wait for my next visit.

Patrick A.

Yelp
Tigers is the neighborhood taproom and Brian (the bar owner) WILL learn your name. Brian and his bartenders are super attentive and knowledgeable about the drafts on tap. And if they don't have what you're looking for on draft, then they likely have it in cans. Even wine kombucha, and Ask about the Underbergs. If there's anything Brian loves more than beer, it's giving back to the community he served. He is constantly planning fun events (post COVID) and has a cycle of good food trucks to keep the drinkers well fed. Outdoor seating comes with umbrella (or not) on the hot days and heaters for the chilly nights. Sports fans will be delighted to know that they can catch games here. Warriors, niners, whatever you ask for. But there's no sports bar vibe. Mostly 90s RNB (TLC Waterfalls) plays on the speakers and it's hard not to get jiggy wit it. If you're looking for a good time, you can't go wrong here. Cheers.

Chris H.

Yelp
Tiger's Taproom, or as us locals call it, Tiger's has become a Jack London neighborhood staple since opening in 2018. I have seen this place grow, become friends with Brian and Danny, and met incredible neighbors over the past couple of years. The on-tap beer is always well sourced, fresh, and delicious. Oh, did I mention that they also have an incredible selection of beer and cider to-go!? Stop by, sit on the patio and have a conversation with either one of the owners, you will not be disappointed.

Annette B.

Yelp
If you're in the neighborhood definitely visit Tiger's for a local beer option or two (or three). Brian and Danny really know what they've got on tap and are great with recommendations. Now that they've got some outdoor seating, it's a nice weekend stop to enjoy a drink, a taco from a local truck, and the sunshine. For those of us living nearby, it's a great option within walking distance!

Enrique C.

Yelp
Very pleasantly surprised by the array of options offered here. Dark and light beers, sours, Belgians, pretty much anything you could ask for. I had a milkshake pale ale, which was new to me. It was a Friday night and wasn't too crowded, but enough to be a bit of a poppin joint. We happened to get there shortly before the owner gave a toast to his dog Tiger, for whom the Taproom is named after. Champagne was shared with anybody who was there at the time. It was a pretty emotional event, he choked up a bit while giving the toast. It made me think the owner was a genuinely good guy and makes me a big fan of Tiger Taproom. Good taste, good people.

Gabrielle T.

Yelp
I stopped by Tiger's Taproom with my colleagues for an early afternoon happy hour (#dontjudgeme) and was excited to see what the new spot was all about. The owners were behind the bar and took their time to explain beer choices to myself and my tender tribe, which I really appreciated as someone who isn't too crazy about the burrrr. They have plenty of choices on tap and gladly provided little sample sips so that we could make an informed decision. I ended up with a crisp, refreshing cider and HIGHLY recommend the brew. The namesake, Tiger--a friendly dog that wasn't so friendly it became obnoxius--was an adorable addition to the scenery. Speaking of scenery, the place is adorned with little beer can vases boasting beautiful blooms and just enough casual, clean ambiance to make us feel just a smidgen less guilty about drinking before 5. We really enjoyed the place and the kind owners and will definitely be back soon.

Brian W.

Yelp
A great local spot. 14 taps of generally local brews. No food, but often hosts food trucks (Wed and weekends). I meet friendly people every time I go. Owners Danny and Brian make sure everyone feels welcome. If you have trouble making up your mind, just ask and they are quick to let you try a taste. Lots games to borrow. No televisions, that's not why people come. They typically do small kegs so the selection changes a lot. There is always a couple of the hoppy beers I like, but the selection is always good and spans the entire range. They also always have a least one cider option. Beer, cider, and a wine or two also available in bottles and cans (to go only).

Shoole S.

Yelp
Chill new tap room in the Jack London area. Wood and concrete combine to create a warm modern feel. There are three large communal tables, additional seating running along the walls, and a few barrels for those seeking something more intimate. There are two gender neutral bathrooms with chalk walls you can write on, and a bookshelf with games. The beers are of course the star of the show. There is a well curated list of excellent local brews on tap as well as a fridge with cans and bottles. My bartender was so patient with me. I'm a beer newbie and he helped me find my jam. Everyone there was helpful and welcoming, just a great vibe all around. Come here if you want to support a local business that supports other local businesses, and if you want to drink great beers in a relaxed environment, perhaps while playing Jenga. Sounds like a great afternoon to me.

A J.

Yelp
This is the best spot to grab a drink in Jack London. The owners Brian and Danny are fantastic and the beer selection is some of the most unique in the Bay Area. The patio is a great addition and the artwork inside is all incredible (and shot by Brian himself). Keep up the great work guys!

raji b.

Yelp
Amazing new taproom in Oakland. They have a variety of beers from all the best breweries in the area. Would definitely recommend a trip. Staff is very friendly and receptive.

Lamia R.

Yelp
Great beer selection! Brian and his team are amazing! We love the staff, so friendly!!

Nick S.

Yelp
The best taproom you could ever ask for. Honestly, I don't know what else could make this spot any better. Their beer selection is fantastic, the owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgable, and the whole atmosphere is welcoming, fun and warm. They tend to always have something on tap that everyone will enjoy, and unlike many taprooms of this kind, Tiger's bathrooms are exceptionally clean. They have great food trucks outside regularly, and often have fun events such as trivia and board game nights. As long as Tiger's Taproom continues doing what they've been doing, I'll continue giving them my business. Thanks to Danny and Brian for creating a wonderful watering hole in a great part of town. Downtown Riders approve!!!!

James K.

Yelp
This place has good beers and very friendly staff. Board games are available to play, and you can get beers by the can/bottle to-go. All beers are local to the Bay. Unfortunately I was told last night that they were informed by the Health Inspector that they were not actually allowed to have dogs in there. :( It is still definitely worth a visit, even though I can no longer bring my dog.

Rachel K.

Yelp
LOVE coming here. I recently moved here and have a larger dog so my boyfriend and I enjoy going to anywhere where we can take him. We live walking distance and moving to a new place can be overwhelming but Brian the owner is so friendly and welcoming. Every time I come in he brings me the biggest bowl of water for my dog. I even take my laptop sometimes on Fridays to work outside on the nice patio they have. I really like that they switch out the beers every week (always a great selection) AND they have wine! There's also events and food trucks. This is my favorite place to go in Jack London Square and I appreciate how dog friendly they are. 10/10 recommend!

Cyrus A.

Yelp
This is my neighborhood watering hole, I leave really close nearby and have been coming here for a good while. This tap room knows what they're doing with their beer and theor tap and bottle selections are always rife with exclusives. Their food truck selection is also a great addition to a nice Double IPA. Aside from that, Danny and Brian (the co-owners) are great guys; they never fail to make me feel welcome. DTR approved.

Vanessa S.

Yelp
First time here...great location. Lots of beers from local breweries, with the occasional out of towner. Met the very personable, Brian, a co-owner. Snacks available, and a visiting food truck. Good place to meet, hang out and drink some good beers.

Josephine C.

Yelp
Nice place that does a lot of collabs with other local food and beer, and has a lot of events going on. Nice ambience with barrels for tables, and chalk paint on the bathroom walls for you to write on. They only had one dark beer and I'd like to see more, but i came for their collab with Laughing Monk Brewing, a beer brewed with stroopwaffels and came back again later this week for another glass. Will be back, probably for another event :)

Kristi B.

Yelp
They just opened a month ago so I'm sure they're ironing out the kinks. Could use a couple TV's and possibly beer snacks. The beer was good but the cider was awful. I know it's not a cider based venue but to have a good one is key. I would come here again. Not gonna rule them out.

Pam S.

Yelp
Tiger's Taproom is one of my favorite establishments in Oakland. They offer a well rounded selection of beers to satisfy all tastes in a friendly, relaxed environment.

L T.

Yelp
Jack London square would not be the same without tigers taproom/Brian. This place is a must visit when you go to Oakland! Not only do they have amazing rotating beer the owner Brian is also one of the most caring and most amazing person you will ever meet. You can come here to watch the game, chill with friends, bring your furry friend, or just looking for a tasty beer after a rough work day. You will meet regulars and one-timers here because it is very welcoming. Highly recommend. You need to check it out yourself to see! Also food truck available everyday parked i front!

Chris M.

Yelp
This place is awesome. Love the beer and the beertenders. Danny and Brian are super personable and will help you find the right beer. And The new patio is dog friendly too.

Andrew R.

Yelp
My favorite bar in town! FYI they're still open for beer pickup during the COVID-19 shutdown, you just need to be wearing a face covering when you enter.

Ingrid E.

Yelp
Highly recommend Tiger's. Great selection of craft beers, with wines and other options (like Ficks Grapefruit hard seltzer) available. Sit in the sun, watch the other customers' dogs, chat with the very friendly staff/owners. This kind of place is the reason you live in California. (During Covid, they have outdoor seating and always a food truck!)
