Yelp
Very cool Tiki spot with more pros than cons. So here we go...
Pros: Door man/ Bouncer and Bartender. We got there right when they opened. Initially greeted by the door man/bouncer who was very cool. The bartender (forgot his name, but he looks like Ray Liotta lol) was awesome, and engaged us in interesting conversation several times, which I thoroughly enjoyed.
Atmosphere. Inside has a super nice Tiki Bar atmosphere and ambiance. Love the decor and the old, vintage black & white tv's.
Drinks. My buddy and I each had the Angry Olmec and the Toasted Marshmallow. Both were excellent. Didn't stay too long or order any more drinks, as we had already started our tiki drink tour earlier at Broken Compass Tiki down the street in Burbank and were already a little buzzed.
Cons: Hours. They don't open til 7:00pm (6.00pm on Fri & Sat). Man, if they could only open maybe at 2:00 - 4:00 pm, I would definitely visit more often, especially since I'm driving from the South Bay to get there.
Food: There is none. Well, they do have chips, but since they are too small to have a kitchen, a bigger variety of snacks would be good, such as nuts, pretzels, as well as more choices for chips. Obviously lack of food doesn't really matter if you stop somewhere and eat beforehand.
Merch. None. I like to purchase some sort of swag from every Tiki Bar I visit, whether it's T-shirts, swizzle sticks, glasses, stickers, coasters. Something. I'll even take a napkin. Nothing to purchase here. At least not when I visited.
Bottom line, none of these cons are dealbreakers, and I thoroughly enjoyed stopping by here. Excellent drinks, friendly staff, super cool atmosphere....I'll definitely be back.
