Best Thai Restaurants in D.C. | Eater DC

"Tiki Thai has a particular emphasis on festive tiki drinks, including cocktails that riff on Zombies and mai tais and colorful glassware available for purchase. The food menu keeps the party going with a Thai-influenced pu pu platter and Thai tacos like a coconut shrimp with tamarind garlic sauce, cilantro, cabbage, and lime crema. Besides a slate of appetizers, look for traditional dishes like yellow curry and drunken noodles, and even some Thai ramen soups. It’s open for for dining in a natural light-filled dining space with a large bar." - Missy Frederick

Where to Drink Tiki and Tropical Cocktails in D.C. | Eater DC

"Reston’s ambitious Tiki Thai takes classics like a mai tai to another level with pistachio butter for a richer, nutty flavor. Its signature TNA, a refreshing tequila highball with lemongrass, peach, and citrus, topped with an aloe vera liqueur infused with blue spirulina, can come in a single serving but also in its own drink dispenser for large groups. Be sure to get a base with snacks like the pupu platter, crab Rangoon, and lychee salad with chicken and shrimp. The restaurant has a generous 3-6 p.m. happy hour (a nice touch in an area where it can be hard to find bars open before 5 p.m.) and an emphasis on festive, interesting glassware." - Claudia Rosenbaum

"Reston’s ambitious Tiki Thai combines classics like the Fog Cutter and Mai Thai with their own concoctions, including an Apple Jack-spiked Atomic Grog and the Coco Bird clarified milk punch. There are also fancy large-batch cocktails, a solid happy hour, and an emphasis on creative glassware. This is a very popular Thai restaurant in the Reston area. That place has several outstanding eating places but the restaurant more than holds it own against the stiff competition We went during the busy lunch hour and had a short wait of about 5 minutes. Despite the rush, the waitress was quite efficient in terms of taking order and serving them. The food was great. Generous portions and quite tasty. Prices on the higher side but expected. Most of the dishes can be made vegetarian or vegan. Overall a great dining experience.

I thoroughly enjoyed this place but I must say I didn't come here for the food. It was ok, the drinks were on point though, and that's ask the matters. I tried one of each on the main menu. I couldn't be happier. Now, they all had a unique flavor, and the dinosaur head one was super sweet. So I didn't really enjoy it, but I could see a lot of people who enjoy sweet drinks, loving that one. The old fashion one was really good and I got two of them, just check out the ice alone they put into it, it even had a pineapple engraved into the ice, that's super cool. It has some extra flavor in it and then normal but still a decent drink. The cups are all purchasable, and I think my kids would love to keep them. So maybe make for a great souvenir.

No idea what the hype is all about: either the masses have not experienced a multitude of thai restaurants or simply writing unaware of what thai food is all about. I elected to try this thai place which is not too far from my favorite thai restaurant hoping it might even come close but am highly disappointed. The one great fact is that it has a great seating outside and very nicely decorated on the inside as well. Upon arrival, the lovely waitress did not even acknowledge our presence so we opted to enter from the outside area. The service was prompt and food served without delay. The spring rolls were overcooked and the pad thai , one of my favorite dishes, was cold and not well seasoned. I guess if you are not a picky eater or not a connoisseur of thai food you might enjoy. One positive is the atmosphere, airy area and nice decor. The outside seating is superb. The prices are a bit on the high side, and once again, this is in comparison to the other nearby Thai place which by far is better. Needless to say, I will not be returning to this restaurant. It is not about the price nor the atmosphere, its all about good food.

Tiki Thai is definitely worth checking out! The food here is absolutely incredible—every dish is packed with flavor. I couldn’t get enough of the bold spices and the perfectly balanced sweet and savory notes. The only downside? The service was pretty slow. It took a while for the dishes to come out, but the staff were super friendly, which made the wait more bearable. Honestly, the food was so good. It made up for the slower pace. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy delicious Thai food, I highly recommend giving Tiki Thai a shot. Just bring your patience along—you’ll be glad you stayed!

Google
Good Thai restaurants in the reston area! The ambiance is incredible - super spacious with tons of seating, and it has this modern yet cozy vibe. The bar area is lively, with a lot of people hanging out, grabbing drinks, and just chilling. It’s a great spot for a casual night out or even a fun dinner with friends. We tried the Cry Baby Noodles, dumplings, fried rice, and tofu wings - everything was fresh, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. The portions were generous and presentation was on point. A special shoutout to their dessert - it comes with a sparkler candle if you ask them if someone is celebrating their birthday and it’s such a cool touch! Totally Instagram-worthy. Whether you’re looking for a chill bar scene or a quality meal, Tiki Thai is a spot I’d highly recommend for date nights, group dinners, or just treating yourself to authentic Thai flavors.

We had an amazing time here. I always said that if a Thai place does not have any Ragoons, I can't get an enriched experience. The salmon Ragoons here were so delicious and I promise you it melted right in my mouth. The drinks had a great taste, my old-fashioned tasted like honey from a bee-hive. The pad Thai was filling! I actually woke up thinking about my leftovers and how I was going to eat them right at breakfast today. Lastly, the service was 10/10! Everyone was so nice! I felt like we were celebrities there the way they were so attentive. I can't wait to go back again!

I took my parents with me on a lunch date, my Dad rarely eats out, maybe 2-3x a year because he likes cooking his own food at home. Needless to say, he enjoyed himself and the Lychee Duck Curry. So much so, he even looked up how to make it, it was extremely flavorful and the duck was tender. We were greeted by Fern the hostess who sat us right under some pretty cool artwork. We were waited on by Kiki, Amm and Gina, because shifts were rotating out, they are all so nice and helpful, we got recommendations from each one of them. We placed an order for the drinks and appetizers (everything came out really quickly) and enjoyed ourselves. The restaurant is beautiful and spacious, there's a cherry blossom theme currently with a really cool pink decorated phone booth in the front before you walk in and themed menu. The bar is very nice as well, my parents took a picture in front of it. The food was AMAZING, they have a lunch special menu and from what I saw was what the other patrons were ordering from as well. It's a steal of a deal! Here's what my parents and I ordered: Appetizers: Tom Yum: Chicken, lemongrass, chili, cherry tomatoes, kaffir lime, mushrooms Healthy Roll: Minced chicken, lettuce, carrots, Thai basil, rice noodles, cucumber, rice paper, spicy peanut dipping sauce Calamari: Southern-style fried whole wings, pickled veggies, sticky rice or steamed veggies Hot Gai Wings: Batter fried calamari, Sriracha aioli, shishito peppers Drinks: Love Yuzu Chardonnay North Bound Entree: Shishido beef: Flank steak, shishito peppers, mushrooms, onions, scallions, carrots Lychee duck curry: Duck breast, lychee, finger peppers, cherry tomatoes, Thai basil, pineapple, red curry paste Basil, fried rice: Ground chicken, Thai basil, bell peppers, green beans, finger peppers, fried egg Sa Mui Lo Mein -- Gina told us to try this dish. 100 stars. I would've never ever tried this. Shrimp, minced chicken, egg, onions, Thai basil, bell peppers, pineapple, chili shrimp paste Dessert: Cappuccino Spicy Brownie: Thai chili pepper, dark chocolate, almond tuile, salted caramel ice cream Pina Colada: Pineapple cake, coconut glaze, coconut flake, toasted coconut & chocolate chip ice cream I can't wait to see what's on the summer menu! I'll be back!

Google
Tiki Thai Reston is one of my favorite place to go to for a late night cocktail. They open til late and you can ask for a drink based on your preference (e.g. sweetness of the drink). The chicken satay was delicious and tasted great! plenty of sauce and great to share. If you like sweet cocktails, choose “free as a bird” , taste like juice alcohol. Price was also reasonable and staff is always so friendly! Would always recommend this place!

Yelp
I had the honor of trying there yellow curry chicken & mango stick rice at this year's Taste of Nova. My taste buds were doing jumping jacks & cartwheels from the ever flowing flavors!

Yelp
This was a mixed review. Great staff. Kinda odd menu. Some strange things on it. Thai main courses were very good. But a can't get over the odd calamari. All rings and a mayonnaise based sauce instead of a typical Thai chili sauce. Parking is time limited. Space is nice with outdoor seating. They just didn't give a reason to want to come back. That's why I gave them an average score.

Yelp
It was recommended to me so I couldn't wait to try it out when I was in the Reston area. - Bananas in Pyjamas -- cute banana cup; tasted well with aged cachaça - Fried Oysters -- flavorful dipped with sriracha mayo - Tom Yum Soup -- from the portion size it was not worth the price - Panang Curry -- mediocre; did not stand out to me - Tai Curry The interior is spacious and nicely decorated giving tropical vibes. Overall, it was overpriced with mediocre quality and service.

Yelp
We came with a party of 10 for dinner and had a so so experience. We ordered a couple of starters and they were delicious, but our meals were a hit or miss e.g. the black pepper chicken was not very good but the lychee duck curry was great. Also, our waitress was pretty unfriendly, had a harder time following us, got some of the orders messed up. Also the place was pretty loud even with the store front open to the patio.

Yelp
I have an office near here and decided to try it out with my wife. They have a nice lunch special, and the food was excellent. Cool decor and ambience was nice!

Yelp
Sooo, I've heard so many good things about this restaurant, however, unfortunately, this wasn't my experience as it pertains to the quality of food (I'm hopeful that my experience was a one off). I ordered the Chicken Pad Thai with the option of it being spicy. The Pad Thai was very oily and unfortunately , it wasn't flavored the best. Additionally, my Pad Thai had no hint of spice. Needless to say, I was very disappointed as I invited my friend for her first Thai food experience and was underwhelmed since my taste buds were overly excited from all the great recommendations to try this place. As it relates to the ambiance and service, this place gave great vibes and the service was very punctual and warm. Overall, the complete experience was approximately three stars.

Yelp
Very colorful place. They have indoors and outdoor dining. The service was okay, they are slow at bringing water and responding with the right attitude. The drinks from the bar was amazing, but they up a lot of ice in the drink. The food and appetizers were amazing. I highly suggest the coconut shrimp.... So Good!

Yelp
Went to this place again after a year and it still tasted the same. The food the drinks were perfect. Friday afternoon the place was hustling and bustling

Yelp
I'm so sad to give this place a 3 (really a 2.5), but for the price you pay the food was abysmal. We stayed with the spring rolls and too with a curry dip. For 18$ the dip was such a small size and I wasn't a fan of cheese with curry with crabs. The spring rolls were ok for $10. For entrees we got the drunken noodles with tofu and the pad Thai with shrimp. The shrimp was awful, looked fresh but tasted like thawed out microwaved shrimp. The pad Thai lacked flavor and had a ton of hard noodles, again as if it was microwaved. I was terribly disappointed at the lack of flavor and freshness, especially given the price. The place is so cute and packed with people at the bar (where I think alcohol is the selling point). On top of it the service was just ok. Definitely won't be back.

Yelp
Tiki Thai is not your average Thai restaurant; it's a culinary escapade that's as vibrant and colorful as the streets of Bangkok. From the moment you step inside, you're not just a guest; you're part of a festive celebration of Thai cuisine, served with a side of flair and a sprinkle of fun. The service here isn't just great; it's like being welcomed by long-lost friends who just happen to be culinary wizards. Our journey through the menu was like a tour de force of flavors, starting with the Pu Pu Platter. This isn't just any appetizer platter; it's a parade of Thai delicacies, featuring Heaven beef, Phuket rangoons, coconut shrimp, spring rolls, and grilled whole wings. It's the culinary equivalent of a greatest hits album, and every bite sings. The Pattaya Mussels were next, and let me tell you, these are not your average mollusks. They're a succulent dive into the ocean's bounty, with flavors so fresh, you'd think the sea was just a stone's throw away. The Shishito Beef followed, a dish where flank steak and shishito peppers tango in a spicy, savory dance that leaves you wanting an encore. Then came the Pineapple Fried Rice, a dish that could easily be the poster child for Thai fusion. With shrimp, chicken, pineapple, cashews, raisins, and a dash of curry powder, it's a symphony of flavors that play beautifully together, topped with pork floss like confetti on a festival day. The Curry Crab Dip was a revelation. Imagine the richest, most flavorful curry you've ever had, then add jumbo lump crabmeat and mozzarella. It's served with crispy roti that's so good, it could start its own fan club. And the Crispy Pork Rinds? They're not just a snack; they're a crunch-tastic journey through texture and taste. No visit to Tiki Thai would be complete without diving into their curries, and the Panang Curry was no exception. With chicken, coconut milk, and broccoli, it's like a warm hug from your favorite auntie, if your auntie was a Thai chef with a secret spice blend. Desserts at Tiki Thai are the sweet finale to an already spectacular meal. The Pandan Waffle, with pandan custard, toasted coconut, and chocolate chip ice cream, is a dessert that doesn't just end the meal; it steals the show. And the Mango Sticky Rice? It's the perfect encore, a classic sweet and sticky love affair that leaves you dreaming of more. Let's not forget the cocktail menu, a playful concoction of drinks that are as fun as they are potent. It's like the bartenders took a trip through Thailand with a shaker in hand, and the result is a drink list that's as adventurous as the food. Overall, Tiki Thai is more than just a restaurant; it's a celebration of all things deliciously Thai, wrapped in a fun, festive package. I highly recommend a visit here and it's one you won't soon forget.

Yelp
I went here with friends and the ambiance was really cute and inviting. I loved the decor. The service was good. The server was nice but sometimes we were waiting but it was a busy weekend at dinner time, so it's understandable. The food was alright, I eat Thai food all the time because my dads a Thai chef and this food felt like it was a trying to modernize Thai food even though traditional Thai food is good as is. The proportions of the food was kind of small, the sticky rice was a very small portion, I felt like it was made for a toddler. The drinks were good, but I wish I could taste the alcohol a little bit more. It tasted more like juice than a drink, which some people like, but I like it with a kick. But the drinks presentations were very cute and Instagram worthy.

Yelp
Absolutely outstanding! Staying in Reston and my HR rep highly recommended Tiki Thai! A very fun restaurant with a great vibe and decor that pops off the wall. Nice outdoor seating area as well. I debated between several interesting takes that included the chef's version of several Thai favorites. In the end, I did take my server's recommendation which was the "Cry Baby Noodles" that are featured in the Netflix show "Hunger"... I asked about another dish and my server was adamant - Cry Baby Noodles! This was featured on the Chef's Specials. The dish was amazing with thick rice noodles that you see in Drunken Noodle dishes. Awesome flavor... the shrimp was perfect not overcooked and the dish was piping hot. I enjoyed the flavors and found the tiny pieces of sweet pork sausage very tasty and tender. The crumbled egg was also unique with celery mixture. A welcome surprise that I imagine will involve watching Hunger on Netflix! Definitely a must try and I was surprised that the restaurant wasn't higher rated...

Yelp
Visited Tiki Thai about 3-4 different times over the past few years. I definitely recommend making a reservation for dinner, especially if going on a Friday or Saturday. Every single time I went, they've been very busy. I've tried a bunch of their cocktails, appetizers and entrees, as well as desserts. I must say I prefer their apps the most. I could have those and be ok with not ordering anything else. Cocktails-wise, I only liked their Holiday on Ice which was a seasonal drink during their Christmas pop-up. It was coffee based which is always a plus for me. Other than that, I don't care much for their drinks. The entrees were alright, nothing special so I won't go into details. For dessert, I always get mango sticky rice at Thai restaurants. This mango sticky rice definitely wasn't all that great compared to other places. Each time I went, service was terrible. The servers were super unfriendly and always took forever. If any of my friends suggested to go back, I wouldn't say no. But I would be just as ok with not ever returning.

Yelp
VIBES ALL AROUND! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was electric - great drinks, friendly service, and an ambiance that just draws you in. We started with the intention of a quick drink, but ended up happily chatting at the bar for ages, all thanks to those delicious cocktails and the infectious energy of the place. Those little tiki glasses were the cutest touch, by the way! They definitely added to the overall experience. Now I'm seriously craving some food to pair with those amazing drinks next time. This is definitely a new favorite spot - highly recommend!

Yelp
The atmosphere and decor was appealing. The food was excellent. I just recently started to eat Thai food. At home my favorite is Kra Pao Gai Down. I ordered it here and I was afraid it wasn't going to be as good. But it was! My niece said her Pad Thai was very good as well. Our waiter was pleasant and attentive. If I didn't live so far away I would go back.

Yelp
Really I'm giving 3.5 stars, but wanted to round up I've come here before and the vibes had been emasculate as I came at night and was at the bar. This time I came closer to midafternoon and the place was still pretty packed for early dinner but I wasn't as pleased with the food this time. I got their pad Thai gai which I had ordered last time and it was just ok. It was honestly a little dry, waaaay too many onions, but the person I went with didn't seem to have as many in theirs and the last time I came it wasn't like this so I think it was just this one time which is why I'm rounding up. Plus whoever came up with the decor/ menu, etc really makes for a great time. Good service being quick and attentive despite it being so busy even during such odd hours.

Yelp
I love this Place!!! The concept of a "tiki bar" did not originally interest me, but I have them a shot. The service is consistent, professional and attentive. The hosts, managers and bartenders are always welcoming. Food is always on point, the Pork Ramen was my favorite. RYAN is the reason we will return, he is welcoming, patient and respectful. Plus, he makes THE best Mai Tai. Just remember, if you come past 10pm on Fridays and Saturday, you need to bring your ID. Or they won't let you in. The DJ and beer pong table are a great touch!

Yelp
I've been to Tiki Thai once before, but definitely enjoyed this visit more. Went for a birthday dinner and sat outside. The weather was beautiful and the restaurant decor was very nice, which enhanced the experience. Service was pretty smooth as well, as our waitress answered all our questions. In terms of food, my family ordered the Curry Puff and Hot Gai Wings for appetizer. Both were phenomenal, flavorful, and tasty. For entree, I ordered the Chumphon Pad Thai, which had tiger prawn and crab meat in it. The dish was very filling, flavorful, and spicy. I love how they actually make the food spicy. Overall, a great dining experience and nice quirky establishment with good Thai food and nice decor.

Yelp
Such a cute and festive place with amazing food/drinks!! If you're looking for something Hawaiian themed and bonus during Christmas time, then this is it. My boyfriend and I went for date night and we enjoyed everything. We ordered some Crispy Pork Skin to start, Bang Bang Shrimp Pad Thai, Pineapple Fried Rice, Thai Tea, and a Mai Tai. We originally wanted the Pork Belly but ordered the Pork Skin by mistake but it was still crunchy and delicious. The Pad Thai was not your normal Pad Thai with soft noodles but instead crispy noodles. It was very tasty along with the juicy shrimp. The fried rice was very soft, buttery, and flavorful. Our drinks paired so well with all the food and came in the cutest cups. The service was excellent even with it being so busy. I would definitely recommend this place and will be back! :)

Yelp
This was my second trip to Tiki Thai, and I finally got a chance to try my favorite Thai dish: Panang Curry! Again, the service was lackluster in the treatment by the staff and the size of the seating. The Drunken Noodles (with Tofu) was delicious as per usual! They definitely load up on veggies so no need to pay for extra! The panang curry was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It had the perfect balance of coconut and Thai space. Each bite had me wanting to come back for more. I would ask for veggies however so it's not just curry and tofu (with a couple pieces of broccoli haha). The prices are still a little high relative to portions. However, will definitely be back!

Yelp
We were excited to check out this restaurant to satisfy our late-night cravings. We arrived a little after 10 PM, and while the interior looked nice and modern, we were disappointed to find that the dining area was closed, and only the bar section was open. Moments after we sat down, we were informed that it was the last call for drinks and food. This was confusing since both Apple Maps, Google, and their website indicated that the restaurant was open until 1 AM from Sunday to Thursday, and until 2 AM on Fridays and Saturdays. Please update your operating hours on these platforms to prevent other customers from being misled and wasting their time, as we noticed other customers trying to get in around 11 PM only to find the doors locked. We quickly ordered our food before the kitchen closed, but the menu did not indicate whether the dishes were spicy, nor were we asked about any allergies. Unfortunately, the food we ordered turned out to be spicy, which was not suitable for us. The customer service was just okay. While the bar menu was simple, more attention to detail regarding food descriptions and allergens would greatly improve the experience.

Yelp
Fun spot! Every dish is delicious and comes out so fast. The service staff is super friendly and consistent. Some of the best cocktails you can find in northern Virginia!!

Yelp
I came here with some friends for their taco Tuesday deal. I tried their crispy duck tacos which were decent. The duck was coated and fried which I hadn't expected. The flour tortilla was fairly thick but the hoisin sauce helped to keep the tacos flavorful. The normal price is $14 but I got it half off for taco tuesday so it was $7. Pretty worth it for the deal, but I wouldn't get it at the normal price since I like normal peking duck wraps better. The pandan waffle dessert ($10) was pretty good! It didn't have much pandan flavor and I was surprised at the blue color of the pandan custard since I expected it to be green. The waffle was fluffy on the inside and not too sweet/ flavored. The coconut chocolate chip icecream was also pretty good! The restaurant has good vibez bc everything is decked out in tiki / tropical decor. The food also came out fairly quickly~

Yelp
I ordered food to go. I had never been here. I ordered two items; an entrée and an appetizer. It cost me about $32 for both items. I ordered the Pad Thai and it was very mediocre. Nothing special to it when I walked into the restaurant the ambience seemed reasonably nice and as for the service when I picked up, they took a bit of time. Did I mention it was closing time when this occurred? Maybe I'll try again but maybe to dine in and not take out.
google avatar

Yan W.

Yelp
They definitely have a descriptive name. Tiki drinks available with Thai food. The tiki drinks are quite strong. The food was fine but again nothing outstanding. Their appetizer platter also had a very nice presentation. The service was a little slow and it seemed like there was more hype than anything else. We lost an appetizer but somehow got another appetizer after insisting it wasn't for us they just took it away. As a tiki purest it was just drinks in fancy glasses. For me it was a pass but I can see instagrammers loving it here.

Yelp
Had a good time here. The food was delicious but some dishes could be improved. We ordered: Thai steak taco: good Thai mussels: good, the sauce was very flavorful Lychee duck curry: the curry sauce was delicious but duck meat tasted like it was microwaved and dry. I expected better meat for a pricey dish Chicken skewers: ground chick was a bit dry, tamarind sauce was good but nothing too special Secret garden salad: was good but again not too impressive since the sauce tasted similar to Som Tum and next time I probably wouldn't order this

Yelp
Went during Halloween night and had an exceptional time! It was surprisingly not busy, and we were able to get seated right away. The staff overall felt very friendly and informative about what we ordered, and even told us how Tuesday we can get BOGO free tacos! The overall ambiance was cozy with a bit of an Asian Chic vibe, reminiscent of the newer restaurants opening in California. We ordered Thai Steak Tacos Had a unique flavor profile of both fresh, citrus, and a lightly flavored meat. A little sour, but I believe it brought it all together. Pupu Plater Included chicken, coconut shrimp, beef, spring rolls, and crab rangoons. The crab rangoons were amazing, I will order that alone next time. The platter was perfect for sharing amongst a group of two, and it also included sticky rice and sauce to pair it with. The chicken was also cooked to perfection! Wonton Soup It had a very mild flavor, perfect for when you're trying to warm up. Nothing too revolutionary, but it still tasted great! Crab Rangoon Dip The dip was very good, we used some leftover dip on the tacos, and it felt like it tied everything together excellently! Panang Curry Pleasant flavor, a little sweet. Cannot go wrong with panang curry! Overall I would be coming back, it's a pleasant spot all around, and I NEED to get some crab rangoons again!

Yelp
Good vibes. Fun cocktails. I love the outdoor space. Solid spot in Reston but not my favorite Thai food in the area. My favorite thing I've tried here is the Som Tum. It was a good portion for the price. The Chumphon Pad Thai was good and novel but not worth the steep price in my opinion. I probably wouldn't order it again.

Yelp
Fantastic lunch special, we both really enjoyed our meal of healthy spring rolls, Tom yum, pad Thai ( so good- not too sweet) and drunken noodle (a tad spicy for us but good nevertheless). Lots of parking, prompt service, food came out hot and fast- we were both able to get in a tasty meal and get back to the office in under an hour.

Yelp
I come here often and absolutely love their food! Usually I get the Curry Crap Dip since it features my favorite panang curry. I love the crispy roti it comes with! My husband and I usually share the Pad Thai Gai and the Spicy Basil with ground chicken. The Pad Thai Gai is a bit sweeter and includes radishes. I love how they plate their dishes and the serving cups they use for their cocktails. As a lover of all things cucumber, love their Wilshire cocktail. I'm not a huge fan of tequila so I sub it for vodka and it's one of my favorite drinks! It's similar to a cucumber mojito except with elderflower and Thai basil. Recently I went for celebratory drinks with my best friend as she passed a big exam for work. I wasn't in the mood for alcohol so instead I ordered a latte and the Pina Colada Cake. The cakes coconut glaze made it so tasty. Deff an enhanced version of a Bundt cake. At night they dim the lights, turn up the music, and put out beer pong tables. A fun place for after work drinks and bites. Currently they have some November specials like the Shrimp Pumpkin Curry I'm hoping to try soon.

Yelp
Beautiful Thai cocktail bar! Ordered the pad Thai and it was ok. Although it stated it was spicy I found the pad Thai to be slightly cold and lacking flavor. The drunken noodles were better, flavorful and spicy. The service was ok. The hostess was nice. The waitress rushed us and was not very accommodating.

Yelp
We were prompted to go to Tiki Thai after they sent my husband an email telling him about their Reston Town Center West restaurant week menu. We viewed this opportunity as a way to expand our Thai food horizons, as we often seem to get the same items again and again at Thai restaurants. Recently, we were thinking about all the Thai places we've tried in NoVA and came to the conclusion that Tiki Thai is our favorite. I told my husband that I want to bump them up to 5 stars but...he wasn't ready to agree to that. So...I will say "4 1/2 stars" easily. We've only dined in the restaurant twice so far. The rest of the time we got either Doordash or Grubhub delivery. In the end, we both prefer delivery as the place, while attractively decorated, is very noisy. Restaurant week this year goes from 10/24-10/31---so today is the last day to partake of that menu. We ordered both available appetizers. The "grilled pumpkin" was served in a curry sauce that wasn't very spicy. That was a good move by the chef as pumpkin isn't strongly flavored on its own. Thus the sauce didn't drown out the pumpkin. The other appetizer was "crispy salmon roll" which was very well executed. A piece of cooked salmon with skin was placed in a roll which was fried. On top was a generous amount of salmon roe plus a cilantro garnish. A soy based dipping sauce accompanied this. The roll add a nice crunch as did the roe and the dipping sauce was perfect to tie it all together. When it came to the main course, I ordered "pan seared salmon" which sat on top of a curry sauce and was garnished with fresh mint leaves.. My husband ordered "lamb shank massaman" which came with boiled potatoes and sauteed pumpkin. We both tasted each other's dinners. The consensus was that the salmon was properly prepared, thus not dried out. The curry sauce wasn't very strong---again a good move on the chef's part. The lamb shank was served with the bone and the portion was very generous. The meat was tender and flavorful and not at all gamy. There was some fat on the shank but I think it helped keeping the lamb from drying out. This was all coated in a curry sauce, again not too spicy. We were given one bowl of plain white rice and one of curry rice. The curry rice was the spiciest part of the meal. We ended up not eating very much of it. All in all, dinner cost $90 before the tip. That included the Singha beer my husband ordered. I stuck with water. A splurge to be sure but we don't regret it.

Yelp
Excellent ambiance, it was pretty full inside when I went. I went on New Year's Eve and the staff were working so hard and were so attentive. I found the food excellent especially the pad Thai which stood out because it was very flavorful. The wontons were also very crispy and flavorful. The drinks menu is really cute and unique.

Yelp
Perhaps the best Thai food I've ever had. The Crab Dip, Rangoon is unforgettable and the branzino had a decent amount of meat but also bones.

Yelp
Tiki Thai has always been a great spot for small bites and drinks. There is nothing wrong with the food or service from the waiters/kitchen staff, but there is an issue with one of the bartenders. A bartender, that was working on the farthest right, has been nothing but rude to everyone that was sitting at the bar. They were extremely condescending, snarky, and did not care. More than 10 people had complained about their mannerisms and did not enjoy their vibes. I encouraged others to get drinks from the other two bartenders because they were super friendly (drinks were yummy)! Of course, this does not mean I will not go to Tiki Thai anymore, however I wish there to be an improvement of this person.

Yelp
Always have been a fan of this place from the friendly staff to the amazing food. We stopped by here after a photography meet and exhausted so we stuffed our faces with the amazing food. My favorite entree to order here is the -lamb lollipop.: not strong smell of lamb but very soft and melt in your mouth, it comes with dilicious sauce and sticky rice. Portion usually is not enough so be sure to order appetizer. - Banana flower and lychee salad : delicious, it have crunchy, sour and sweet of lychee, shrimp, and all blend in their sauce. - Curry puff: The curry is phenominal and the puff were crunchie. - The basil rice (not sure.. similar to kapow chicken) bestttt rice and meat and vegetables to taste (like spicy? ask for the spice rack!) - Salmon roll: crunchy and just enough for three portion. - Crispy pork belly with lettuce wrap: crunchy healthy ish meal, have variety with different sauce for you to try. - Fried Banana and ice cream: are to dieeee for. The ice cream is home made and fillled with crunchy coconut flakes . (best dessert ever) - Thai Tea cream brulee: different, unqieu, not too sweet. This place does gets busy around happy hour time. They also have cute glasses they can put your drinks in. This is a must try if you're in reston!

Yelp
Love the atmosphere at this Thai restaurant, and if we lived closer, I would definitely be going here often. Service is good. Food has tasted great every time we've gone so far, I always make sure to get the Thai tea as well with my meals. This is a nice spot to go after work. They have a selection of alcoholic drinks as well.

Yelp
Well, the crab curry dip was good. Too, the pineapple rice. But, wow, the price to food ratio is the worst I've experienced. This is like paying Disney World ticket prices and getting mini-golf. Wifey wanted to get some curry puffs because - when made right - they are awesome. The menu said $15. How many is that? Didn't say. Are they bigger than normal? Didn't say. For that price I expected 3 good-sized puffs to 5 average-sized curry puffs. We got 2. Small sized. Think small croissant, almost like the size you get when you buy a tube of Pillsbury croissants. That's $7.50 for a pastry. A bland pastry at that. The crab curry dip - really, really good. But $20 for a plastic pint container that's about half full. Really good. But for that price I should get a full pint, or a free beer, or a blowjob. The pineapple rice: pretty decent. I've had pineapple rice from places all over the world, including many Asian countries and - when it's good - it's to die for. This PR was pretty darned good. But again, the price is $23. That's just a bowl of fried rice. C'mon, I know inflation and all, but this is ridiculous. Those three things cost almost $70. Oh, and that's takeout, picked up. Not delivery. Not planning to go back. I'll miss that crab curry dip but I bet I can find a decent similar dish some where else for half the price or double the volume.

Yelp
Came here to take my boss to dinner Location/ Ambiance 4.5/5 - In between office business and other small restaurant. In safe area with plenty of parking on the side in the public garage. Cute ambiance of Tiki Island vibe but the high rise seating table near the bar not that comfortable unless you have big butt lol. Cute little outside eating area as well went the weather is nice. Service was good but nothing special. Food - Calamari 2/5 - Suck and overly breaded . I like my calamari to have tentacle but here it just the circle cut, but super tough and over cook. Tom Yum Sup Shrimp 2/5 ($10)- Super Americanize, lack savory, lack sour and the spice. Hot and sour soup at Chinese restaurant have more favor than this. Drunken Noddle Shrimp 4.5/5 ($20) - Yummy and flavorful. Sweet Salty and spicy so yummy. Con a tab bit soggy and overly oily and can use more char taste from the wok like how you will get serve in Thailand Cashew Nut Shrimp 4.5/5 ($21) - yummy nutty and flavorfully additive but the amount of shrimp is lacking Volcano Shrimp4.5/5 ($25)- Great flavor but for the price that it is I would expect more shrimp. Banana Blossom & Lychee 5/5 ($16)- Super yummy fresh refreshing but still flavorful from the savory and nuttiness' of coconut milk with tangy from lime and sweetness from Lychee. If you look for light app this is the dish for you. The banana blossom was fresh and go well with the shrimp Thai Ice Tea 3.5 /5 ($6.50) - It good a tab bit over price to be fill with ice. I would prefer for it too not be made and mix in with cream already. I like my thai tea more with lemon . Thai ice Coffee 3/5 ($6.50)- It good a tab bit over price to be fill with ice and had a stale refrigerator taste a lil bit I would come back If i have guest over for some great drink at the bar and for peoples who like basic Americanize Thai food but if I am craving authentic Thai food this it not the place for me beside the cute ambiance .

Yelp
Overall a yummy dinner... started with a salmon egg roll on the specials list. Highly recommend! Hubby and I split the redeye 2 Singapore drink ... easily could be for 4 with a small pour... surprised it was so chocolatey in taste... I had the quack quack... hubby the garlic beef flank steak. Both tasty My only neg on the place is way toooo noisy for our taste... I'd rather things were a bit quieter... bar was jumping with hardly any standing room.. we Sam early so no issues on seating... that said they do reservations on their website Menu has lots of interesting cocktails... be adventurous

Yelp
Luv this spot so much. Great HH for drinks and snacks that are lively and outside of the usual brew. The full entrees are solid as well.

Yelp
Our friends called early to get a reservation. They were told they did not need one. We arrived and then were told you need reservation. We waited 15 minutes and were told a table opened up. The person at the front when you come in was very rude and confrontational. The waitress was great and that part of the service was great. Food was ok. The spice level was good. I asked for medium heat and that is what what delivered. The restaurant is rather small so the noise level was rather loud. Overall food was ok. I wouldn't make it a choice to go back.
