9 Flavorful Indian and South Asian Restaurants in Denver | Eater Denver

"Even the fluffy, flavorful rice hits different at this South Broadway banger, which nails standards like savory saag and crispy-soft samosas while turning out a wealth of lesser-known dishes. Don’t pass up the crunchy, salty, sweet-and-sour Bombay bhel (a type of chaat); the creamy, tomato-based makhani with chicken or lamb; or the earthy rajma and aloo (kidney bean and potato) masala." - Ruth Tobias

Google
Amazing experience at Tikka & Grill – 6th Ave location. From the moment I walked in, the team welcomed me with genuine warmth and hospitality — they truly go above and beyond to make you feel at home. The service was friendly, attentive, and full of positive energy. The food was absolutely delicious — every dish was bursting with authentic flavors. The lacha paratha was perfectly flaky, the jeera aloo flavorful and comforting, and the daal makhani rich and creamy. The coconut soup starter was a refreshing surprise — light yet deeply satisfying. Everything tasted fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The indoor ambiance was cozy and well managed, creating the perfect setting for a relaxed meal. Tikka & Grill has clearly mastered the balance of great food, warm service, and an inviting atmosphere. Left completely satisfied — it hit all the right cravings. Highly recommend checking them out.

Absolutely love this local Indian Cafe on 6th Street. Family owned and run, this restaurant serves their food fresh made and hot. We ordered quite a few different dishes for takeout and everything we had was excellent. We definitely will be back!

The food here is incredible and the presentation very fancy. It was surprisingly nice being inside a former neighborhood bar. Spotlessly clean and with a friendly helpful staff. Tons of food and such fresh quality. I will definitely be back next time im in town. This was easily enough for two so probably great for a couple. Staff is helpful, explained ingredients and worked patiently w vegans at next table.

Google
OMG! I’ve been here like 3+ times already and I can’t say enough how good the food is. Quality is high, taste, customer service, atmosphere, etc. They have a buy one get one online only. Parking is not a problem. There’s 2 hour parking (no meter) in front of restaurant, Safeway parking next door to the left, and an old theater that closed that also has a big parking lot. Just saying. Park at own risk. The naan is phenomenal. Prices no different than anywhere else. Their dining area is really nice with a full bar. Very elegant for family or friends dinner parties or functions. They also sell burgers for those in the group that don’t like Indian food and a kids menu with chicken fingers. The staff are so nice, mannerly and courteous. This restaurant beats anything I’ve eaten in Denver and Colorado Springs in the last 10 years. Also want to add they are open until 3am. So after the bar, concerts, those who work at night, night owls, traveling etc, this is the place to go when hungry for a good hot meal. These days you pay just as much at 24 hr breakfast diners and it’s not as good or healthy.

Simple but good Indian food. One of these spots that may not blow you away but will satisfy every time.

Google
I had the best experience at tikka and grill2 thanks to our server. She was incredibly kind, attentive and made us feel so welcomed from the moment we sat down. Her service was truly excellent- She checked on us consistently without ever being overbearing, made great recommendations, and made sure everything was perfect throughout our meal. It’s rare to come across someone who genuinely enjoys what they do,and she was absolutely made our visit unforgettable.Thankyou for your amazing service we’ll definitely back✨

Google
Tikka & Grill truly deserves five stars. Roma was amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and made the whole experience feel welcoming. The food came out hot and full of flavor, and she checked on us at the perfect times without ever being overbearing. Her service really made the meal stand out. I highly recommend this place, and especially Roma for her outstanding hospitality.

Google
So happy to have this spot in the neighborhood. The dishes are all so spot on and absolutely delicious. I’ve tried many different things and every single dish was a winner. The presentation in-restaurant is so well-done and lovely, the staff are all extremely nice and accommodating. Servings are a fantastic size! I do takeout often and get 2 dishes with naan and that’ll feed me for 3 meals. Can’t go wrong here.

Yelp
I met up with some friends to catch up over Indian food. It was cold and snowy, but we sat on the covered, heated patio. Felt nice, actually. I ordered Lamb Korma (or Rogan Josh) - can't remember which one of my favorite dishes I choose. It was pretty good. Not standout but would come back again if someone suggested. The highlight was obviously the company I was with.

Yelp
Tikka and Grill (all 3 locations) has become our family's favorite go-to restaurant. With several vegans and vegetarians in the family, we always find lots of options. Almost everything can be made vegan if you ask, and they easily adjust the level of spice to every member of the family. We love the saag tofu and the masalas and the curries and the Mushroom Manchurian and the ... oh no, now I am hungry again! Wonderful, wonderful menu and excellent service. Try it!

Yelp
Ordered this place on uber eats and let me tell it was solid. The jalapeño roti was excellent and I thought the masala cheesesteak was also great. The bhindi masala was also nice, flavorful and interesting stir fry with okras. Next time I will definitely add lamb. Overall prices are reasonable and I liked the flavorful profile. Next time I will have the full experience when I dine in.

Yelp
Still amazing and our go-to Indian food restaurant in Denver. We get them pretty regularly - typically always get a Saag, then change it up with other things (can't go wrong with a Samosa - Vege is my favorite), and others such as Jalfrezi, Madrass, and now a new favorite (and the staff made a point when I picked it up, it was good too!) is the Shahenshah. If you're ordering pickup, try to use their website to avoid fees with Grubhub, DoorDash, etc - they notice and appreciate that.

Yelp
Something has changed within the last few months, and I'm not sure what it is, but I don't think I'll be ordering from here anymore. I'm genuinely sad. This was my favorite place to eat. We used to get takeout from here two or three times a month, but the last several times have been just terrible. We usually get saag paneer. What used to be a creamy, spicy, flavorful, and delicious meal has been replaced with something bland, watered down, and sometimes disgusting. Our last order tasted like burnt plastic. It was nearly inedible, if not for the cheese naan. We used to get so excited to order Tikka and we'd be sitting there eating it talking about how amazing it was with big smiles. The first time something was off we thought it was a fluke, so we tried again a few times. We tried until the excitement was dead. I am so, so sad to say we will not be back.

Skyler W.

Yelp
My partner and I decided last minute to eat here because we drive by it and always say we should try it one day. Today on 10/25/25 we finally decided to give it a shot. We walked in, and the restaurant was completely empty except for one table. This did throw me off because we usually see people eating through the windows when driving by. But regardless I wasn't expecting that.. We walk in and a man walks over to "greet" us while looking at us with a facial expression of annoyance & disgust.. so instantly I was off put by that.. mind you, he never said one word to us!! So I said we'll just take a booth.. and he said nothing. Just walked to a table and put menus. He comes back, fills up our water cups and still says nothing even after my partner said thank you she still has said nothing to us at this point. The vibe was just so off and our initial interaction with him was extremely offputting and while sitting there we were kind of looking at each other thinking should we go somewhere else and I was like no like maybe we should just stay and see what happens. But it just wasn't looking promising so we ended up walking out of there and we NEVER do that. I'm not saying anything bad about the food. We never tried the food. This is our only experience there, but we were about to spend our good hard earned money there and we always tip well. My partner and I are both in the service industry and so this was very strange to us. We don't ask for over the top expectations, but simple Kindness and decent service would be appreciated. Never going back.

Yelp
One of my favorite Indian food spots in Denver, always hits the spot. I love that they have the option to make ALOT of their dishes vegan. Really helps make it a spot you can go to with everyone. Highly recommend!

Yelp
So I already left a review for delivery but this place was so good I went back for lunch and dinner The servings are very generous and I can't stop eating the Tikka Masala And the service was great!!!
google avatar

Yelp
An amazing Indian and Nepali conventional cuisine! I've been to all 3 Tikka and Grills and thoroughly enjoyed each location. The pictures I have are from the 6th Ave location, all very clean and welcoming. The customer service is very nice and accommodating, they start you with a soup that I can't have but I'm told it's delightful. My favorite dish is the Lamb Korma, you really can't go wrong - I could eat it every day! 1000/10 recommend. And on certain apps they have BOGO deals for pick up or delivery! Take advantage of it! And don't forget to order the ONION BHAJI for starters

Nancy D.

Yelp
It was delicious, and the menu is extremely large and varied. Parking is primarily on the street but it's in a relatively quiet neighborhood. The ambience was fine. I was there for a lateish dinner with several other people, somthe larger tables worked out well for us.

Hipster C.

Yelp
The 6th ave restaurant is totally different experience than the Broadway restaurant. Highly recommend Broadway but stay away from 6th ave. They totally messed up our order and did not bring us what we ordered. I ordered boneless tandoori chicken - I don't know what they served me but it was not the same as Broadway. Tried to explain that to server and they essentially sent me the same dish on a cast iron platter. They had broccoli and carrots, cabbage on the platter- none of which I was expecting the dish is typical served with cooked tomatoes there were no tomatoes in my dish and they gave me a small saucer of the butter sauce (they actually forgot that til I asked) my friend ordered a hamburger and they brought him a cheeseburger when he told them he is lactose intolerant they told him it was vegan cheese, don't worry !!!

Yelp
Incredible food and very tasty sauces! The service was really quick and everyone was really nice. It's a little more expensive than I'm used to for Indian food, but still really great
google avatar

Daisy D.

Yelp
The garlic cheese naan from here is a 5/5. Chicken tikka masala sauce also a 5/5, the actual chicken though 3/5 toughness. I previsoukt visited their location on South Broadway and was enamored by how vibrant and flavorful their curries are. I have only ordered takeout from this location, they have coupons on their website! They were super timely and kind when I picked up my order. The tikka masala is so thick and rich, really my only complaint was the chewiness of the chicken. Will be coming back to try these dishes in person.
google avatar

Pamela M.

Yelp
I've been to the other South Broadway location and this has the same menu. I'd call the menu huge! So many options and so many meat/non-meat options for the dishes. I've honestly never seen so many choice at an Indian restaurant before! It will surely please everyone with such variety. Just give yourself time for perusing so much. The drink prices are excellent here. I tried a Chai Martini, it was sweet and tasty if that's your thing. I am glad they opened a spot on 6th St, so much closer to me and right by The Esquire. So, if you're checking out a movie there, this is the perfect before or after spot! My last meal I swapped out the beloved paneer with tofu in my palak/saag just because I already had so much cheese that day and I was so surprised how great it was! The tofu really took on a similar taste and texture of the paneer I typically get! Also, if you like samosas but want to try an amped up version, try the samosa chat! Many places do offer this, so I was excited to see it and have it again. See my pic of it! The food is great here and it will be a place I go to often that is for sure.

Yelp
I had enjoyed the original Tikka and Grill location, but after some extensive delivery experimentation, I can now say the same of the new location too. When I first tried this location, I think my excitement to dabble overtook me a bit. I got the goan fish curry, the bhindi masala, and the baigan bharta. All of which were good (the eggplant a little less impressive than the prior version I had), but perhaps just too varied a combination of items. After some time, I gave into a craving last week and ordered a few curries and samosas one evening and was blown away. Then this week, I did it all over again. (I may have eaten my weight in curries this month. ) If I were to summarize my experiences and adoration, it would go something like this: unparalleled selection of vegetarian and vegan adaptable options (you want vindaloo, korma, masala, saag, all of it can be done veg, multiple ways); generous portions at fair pricing (My gosh look at that pakora appetizer! Biryani for days!); tender proteins when you do want meat; and chutneys to boot (some places won't even spot you some tamarind with samosas, boo!). Delivery has always been nice and quick too, and well packaged. The new location is certainly convenient. I still need to check it out in person, but I have to say regardless it's been making my evenings at home.

Yelp
Go!!! Ignore the very temporary sign on the outside! Really good Indian/Nepalese cuisine. I like that they will spice it up so you can taste it....medium was good not crazy hot. Most customers were getting it low...so there you go. Portions are huge....this is such a huge plus I cannot scream it loud enough. The Lamb vindaloo was loaded with tender meat. The Tandoori chicken had so much chicken it lasted three days....and the quality was fantastic. Great veggie dishes. Great Naan. Pro Tip: Parking is a little tough so if you are picking up use the Safeway parking lot next door.
google avatar

Blythe C.

Yelp
The food was amazing, and the sauces were full of flavor! Service was super fast, and the staff were all very friendly. It's a bit pricier than what I usually pay for Indian cuisine, but the quality definitely made it worthwhile.
google avatar

Cole S.

Yelp
Forgot to take pictures but we got the chicken tikka masala, garlic naan, and vegetable samosas. All three were very good. The tikka masala had very good flavor and the chicken was perfectly cooked. You also get complementary rice pudding which is very yummy! Service was fast and the servers checked up regularly. It's a large place so it doesn't get too loud. We will be back!

Kurt H.

Yelp
It's sad they decided to rest on their laurels they first received from us and forget quality of food. This WAS the new place to go, 6th ave and S. Broadway. We started when they first opened, sent several people there, complimented everyone...they expanded due to everything being AWESOME and the word was out...6th ave opened, then Englewood....growing. Unfortunately we have been to S Broadway twice and 6th ave twice in the last 3 months.....every meal was bad, how in the world do you do that? The shrimps, no matter Tandoor or otherwise, soggy, sloppy mushy. The chicken dishes were sooo dry I was in shock; overcooked until the chicken was dry, hard, inedible. We're sad because this WAS better than Denvers standby, Little India. Does anyone know if you can get this type food in Denver thats GOOD/GREAT??
google avatar

Joe V.

Yelp
Great food and service. Will definitely go back when I'm in town. Highly recommend Pani Puri. Delicious!!!
google avatar

Joanna C.

Yelp
Overall very good food!!! Good portions, fresh, and very flavorful. The place is very big, when we first got in we thought it was empty but theres another side by the street with higher booths and it was completely full. It was a little confusing in terms of who was our server because multiple people came around to double check if we were doing okay. This was good but ended up in some confusion later on. We let the first guy that came around know we had a nut allergy and then pointed out some of the items with nuts. We weren't ready to order yet so he left and another server came by later. When the other server took our order he also asked what spice level we wanted. Our food came pretty quickly and everything was super yummy. The pani puri is diy style which was very fun and customizable. However, shortly, we had an allergic reaction to the shahi paneer. The menu does not specify it containing any sort of nuts, but the first server said it has cashews. When he found out of the allergic reaction, he offered to make it without the cashews which was very nice but we had to leave. When I was paying my bill, I asked again with the server that actually took our order, if the shahi paneer had any nuts in it and he said it did not. This made it a little confusing and I'm guessing he didn't fully understand what I was asking. However, everyone was very nice and helpful getting us out quick since we had to leave 5 minutes into the entree. I still think the taste of the food was very good I would just be careful if you have any allergies and double check with multiple people.

Yelp
The food is wonderful, it is one of my favorite delivery go-to's. I love the plain naan; the coconut naan is great but pretty messy. I love the Tikka Masala.

John C.

Yelp
I've ordered 3x and live down the street. Every time has been great. Looking forward to going in to the spot.
google avatar

Newton H.

Yelp
I've had some of the best meals of my life here. Zero exaggeration. The Broadway location is close to my kung fu school. This location is walking distance from my apartment, and as soon as it opened up, I was right there. I've seen some people comment that the staff are rude, and I disagree. They are a little more formal than people in this part of the world are used to, but they are (in my opinion) lovely people and you should get to know them. Even if they were jerks, I'd not care. The food is that damned good. Really. They could slap it on the table and call me a dumb SOB and I still wouldn't care. Be quiet and eat.
google avatar

Ali W.

Yelp
Food: We love this place. We have been experimenting with Indian restaurants and this place has by far the most flavor. We love their tiki masala, paneer. I will say that we get their "hot" for spice level and it's really not that spicy which is a bit disappointing for Indian food but we still enjoy it! Service: We had order from DoorDash mostly, but just went in this weekend and they were very attentive. And the food came out quick. Really good prices overall too for their alcohol and food. Ambiance: The vibe is okay. The bar actually looked really nice since it's so big but the booths we were in were SUPER narrow and your knees would touch the table legs. I'd recommend they spread them out more. I'm excited this place opened this new location and I wish them all the luck!
google avatar

Bobbi A.

Yelp
I ordered to go. The Naan was burnt. We were very sad. I am wrapping my head around why the Biryani and Saag cost just around the same but we received a very small saag and an extra large Biryani, does spinach cost that much? Lol. Although the taste of the Biryani was good, I do not think I could order from here again
google avatar

Andrea S.

Yelp
Ramen is always my husbands go to on a cold winter night but my go to is Indian and we definitely needed something warm and comforting yesterday during our polar vortex! My husband and I ordered carry out of several of our favs: Chicken Saag, Chicken tikka masala, cheese naan, and daal soup. I loved the deep red color of the tikka masala even though we only ordered medium spice. The standout was probably the daal soup... deep rich flavors that made you feel like it had been cooking for hours! Sadly, just like anywhere else, naan just doesn't travel well. It was fine but I definitely would like to try it while dining in to really compare to our fav Indian spot that is only a short drive away!
google avatar

Sophie S.

Yelp
There a two Indian restaurants of Denver that everyone goes HAM for, ifykyk. Tikka and Grill is one of those, and they really did live up to my expectations. This is a second location that they just opened up, and it's a great space with a bar and plenty of seating. Before I get into the food I have to say that the service was amazing! My party of three stayed for an hour chit chatting after we paid our bill, and our server welcomed us to stay as long as we'd like since they weren't busy, and even filled up our waters while we sat (catching up with an old friend, don't judge!) Started out with three types of naan (garlic, date, and jalapeño cheddar). I loved their variety of options, they had about six types to choose from! I will say that the only reason I'm holding back on five stars is because the naan was a little stiff for me, we ordered so much (went home with it don't worry) but it was a bit hard to scoop our meals with. We also ordered samosas as an appetizer and those were the bomb dot com. The dough was like nothing I'd had before, pillowy yet crispy? Incredible. For curries we ordered the sweet potato curry, jalfrezi, and chicken madras. All of them were perfect in our opinions, and we couldn't have asked for more. The sweet potato was a crowd favorite, and so unexpected! With our curries came turmeric rice - fluffy and kept great with leftovers! Last thing on our list was the aloo gobi -- I can't even describe the spices but they were perfect. I've been on a cauliflower kick lately, and there's just took the top of my list. It's no question why Tikka and Grill is a favorite of so many! Incredible service, food, and location!

Heidi J.

Yelp
Food is delicious (try the cauliflower appetizer). We had a chicken tikka masala and a veggie makhani. Very tasty. The naan was generous and nicely baked. Lovely atmosphere and service. We'll be back!

Helen ..

Yelp
Our friends from India recommended this restaurant. We took a couple of friends last night that had not been there. They loved it as much as we do. Interesting varied menu, excellent service and nice atmosphere - and it is quiet. Prices are reasonable. What a find!

Brian L.

Yelp
We loved this place. We had the Lamb Korma and Chicken Mahkani. Both excellent choices. Portion sizes were very large so the price is worth it. Service was great and our food came out within 10 minutes. This place has convenient and free parking since it's just outside of a Safeway.
google avatar

Abs F.

Yelp
I've never had Indian or Himalayan food and I can confidently say it might be my favorite now. The food was amazing. I ordered Grubhub at 12am expecting junk in all honesty. I was left stunned. It was the best food I've ever had. Each meal was made with effort, flavor and the yummiest ingredients. I will count the days till I'm back in Denver so I can try this place again.
google avatar

Nunya B.

Yelp
Wonderful food, very accommodating to dietary restrictions (I.e. dairy free) and all the people working there have always been very kind. I love this place so much!

Mike and A.

Yelp
Food was excellent! We got Saag Paneer and a salmon dish. The service was excellent as well! Wonderful place! I highly recommend it.
google avatar

Alexandria R.

Yelp
Hands down the best Indian in denver. I used to order from the location on broadway until this one opened. The quality of the food is spectacular and authentic. Not Americanized. I haven't eaten at the physical restaurant bc we always do takeout. I'm alway surprised that my food arrives steaming. Love love love this place! Tip: medium is spicy!
google avatar

Jen X.

Yelp
The food was pretty decent but could have more depth of flavours. The garlic naan was amazing though and definitely recommend that. The food was a little on the pricier side too.

Liz Z.

Yelp
I've been waiting to try this place and it did not let me down!! The smell from outside is enough to draw you in. I got the chicken tikka masala, mushroom paneer, and naan. All so flavorful. I'll be back!

Anna S.

Yelp
Not the same as the original Tikka and Grill on Broadway. The tofu korma was good but the tomato soup and the Bombay potatoes were not good. We frequently order both of these items from the original location, and they are phenomenal. The tomato soup at this location is runny and flavorless. The Bombay potatoes at this location come coated in a sauce that is mostly sour. Also, the naan here isn't quite naan; it's thicker than traditional naan
google avatar

Jessie Elizabeth J.

Yelp
The same company as Spice Room and India Express- all the same. It's good quality food but we order medium and it is always so SPICY and not GOOD spicy- not flavorful, just hot. My husband is Indian and we keep wishing it would be MILD when we order mild; butter chicken shouldn't be hot!
google avatar

Liz A.

Yelp
This place was great - excellent food, friendly service and very accomodating of our group of 6 adults and 3 infants/toddlers (high chairs available on request!). Food highlights were BaiganBharta (a must if you like eggplant), saag paneer, lamb korma and aloo chaat were all excellent - very flavorful and very generous portions. Spice level is mild compared to other indian restaurants ("mild spice" was not hot at all) so don't be afraid to add some heat. Overall prices were very affordable for food and drink ($9 cocktails are a bargain) and a great experience overall.

F I.

Yelp
3/5 for seating and ambience 5/5 service- very friendly folks 3/4 food and here is why - Dal - pretty good - momo soup - momo was not fresh, was hard and the meat was non tender. we drank the soup and left the 7 momos untouched - chicken curry and garlic naan was good- - paratha- somewhat uncooked.

Melanie K.

Yelp
This is a place that I'll return to over & over. There were four people in our party and we all agreed that the food was excellent. Some of the dishes that we had were the tandoori chicken, baba ganoush, saag paneer, and chicken shawarma. The menu is diverse for those in your party who may feel like having something different. The drink menu looks quite fun too. Next time I'll add photos
google avatar

Gabrielle H.

Yelp
Wow!! We wanted to try this place since it's close by and they did an amazing job! We got the Butter Chicken, Chicken Korma, Samosa, and Paneer Pakora and everything was incredible. Service was great as well - can't wait to visit again!
google avatar

Maya B.

Yelp
I love this place so much!! The food is very good and the service is outstanding every time. Last night I asked to look at the menu for desert and didn't end up getting any but they still gave me some . 11/10!
google avatar

Joseph B.

Yelp
Best Indian food in the Denver area hands down great staff helped us with 15 minutes to close They go above and beyond to make sure that your food is good and you're having a good time
google avatar

RJ A.

Yelp
I have visited Tikka and Grill on four occasions now, each time the food has been amazing. The service is calm and reserved, very helpful and knowledgeable about the items in their menu. The temperature of the food is always perfect, the flavors are to die for, and the rice is spectacular. I would highly recommend trying Trilla and Grill.
google avatar

James G.

Yelp
This place was so good. This is super authentic Indian cuisine. Waiter was very helpful in navigating the menu as there is so many options. I had vindaloo and the garlic naan. My mouth is watering right now as I type this remembering how delicious everything was. Will definitely come back every time I am in Denver.

Jake B.

Yelp
Tikka is hit or miss. Stopped in after grocery shopping twice and had two VERY different experiences, even though I ordered the same exact thing, shrimp korma extra spicy. First time, they brought me leftovers: ordered shrimp extra spicy, got CHICKEN maybe medium spice, and the meat was undercooked, the naan was stale, and the rice had huge clumps, one the size of a baseball. Normally I'd never return to a place that served trash like that, but I skipped breakfast and missed lunch so gave them a second chance. Ordered the exact same thing and everything was perfect, one of the better meals I've had at an Indian restaurant. Your results may vary. Anyplace can have an off day. 3 stars.

I was very excited to see an Indian restaurant had moved into our neighborhood. Coming from England, where Indian food is great, I long for good Indian food. This was about the worst Indian food I have had in the States! We ordered Lamb Vindaloo and Bhindi Marsala. The Vindaloo was tasteless -- can you believe you can have tasteless Vindaloo!!! And there were more potato chunks than lamb. The Bhindi was okay but nothing special. The rice was like cardboard and the Nan was thin and dry on the outer edges. What a disappointment!
