I recently visited Time Out Market Cape Town at the waterfront, and what an experience it was! From the outside, the wooden building already caught my attention, but stepping inside was a real surprise — the place is vibrant, lively, and filled with so many tempting food options that it’s hard to choose. Since I wanted to try seafood, I went with the grilled salmon in garlic sauce from The Siba Deli. The portion was just right for one person, served with fresh vegetables and mustard mashed potatoes. It was actually my first time trying mustard mash — a unique twist compared to the usual creamy version that typically comes with salmon or steak. The flavor was different, but pleasantly so, and it paired well with the dish. The salmon itself was cooked beautifully and very flavorful. Overall, it was a delicious meal in a great atmosphere. 💰 I paid 320 ZAR for the salmon with a Coke — and I’d say it was well worth it!

Time Out Market – touristy but worth a visit Yes, Time Out Market is definitely a tourist hotspot where people from all over come together. Still, you can meet a variety of people from different countries and have some nice conversations, especially if you’re traveling alone. The guy at the wine bar really knows how to sell and gives great advice. The oyster bar is also a good spot, with chill music playing in the background. It does feel a bit impersonal, like a modern food court, but for a quick bite or a glass of wine it’s a great place. Maybe a little too touristy for some, but for me it worked really well.

Time Out Market Cape Town has a great atmosphere with a vibrant, lively vibe and a variety of unique food options. Each dish was flavourful and well-prepared, though the portions were quite small and the prices felt a bit high for what you get. Still, it’s a fun place to explore different cuisines in one spot.

I’ve been to a few Time Out Markets in different cities around the world, and I have to say this one is the best I’ve been to so far! While yes, like other reviews mention, Time Out Market tends to be a bit pricier, what I like is that you can try loads of different cuisines and dishes all in one place. It’s also more affordable than other Time Out Markets I’ve been to in other countries. The main reason I really like this one though is because of the atmosphere! Even if you just come for a drink, there’s such a buzz and it’s right at the V&A Waterfront with stunning views right outside and beautiful spots for photos. Inside there’s usually music or something going on and there’s more than one bar to choose from. Overall I can highly recommend stopping in, even if just for a drink or a small bite!

I was there early! I enjoyed it! There are different places to eat. I got a dish that is like our American grits; however, they serve it without butter and salt. Great experience!

Delicious ramen with authentic Japanese flavor. The broth was rich, the noodles perfectly cooked, and the toppings generous. The place is inside a market, so the atmosphere is loud and a bit chaotic — not ideal for a quiet meal, but it adds to the casual vibe. Prices are very reasonable for the quality. Worth a visit if you’re craving good ramen without breaking the bank.

This lovely market has been tainted for me as the prices on all the bars have been covered up, we ordered a Cherry ale from the bar, its a half pint and cost R120! I was not told this by the bartender when it was ordered and when he saw I was absolutely disgusted at the price he agreed with me and shook his head acknowledging this absurd pricing. I think the other beers are more inline with standard pricing in Cape Town, however the overall pricing is generally more than you would pay anywhere else in the city with food and drinks of the same quality. I actually double checked with a restaurant in the waterfront what they charge for the same drink we ordered and it was R75. Another “interesting”price was for a flat white coffee at R50, that is also way above the market prices, I felt completely ripped off especially at the bar since the prices were not displayed, they used to be but since my last visit in June they have been covered up with tape. If i would like to pay European prices then i might as well go to Europe…. So, If you do find yourself at this market the food is good and vibe is nice, just double check on any prices before ordering as you might be in for a big surprise.

Beautifully designed and awesome place for hangout. They have many selection of foods from different region. However, portion is small and very pricey eg R120 for 1 cup of beer with half cup of ice. All in all, this place is suitable for 1 time visit.
