A Fresh Santa Barbara Guide to New and Old-School Restaurants | Eater LA

"A Carpinteria outpost from Bettina owners Rachel Greenspan and Brendan Smith that opened in late May 2025 inside Linden Square, one block from Little Dom’s Seafood. The pared-down menu mirrors the original with whole pies, sourdough loaves, wine selections, and grab-and-go items well suited for campers at nearby Carpinteria State Beach. Tip: conduct a lap around the food hall before settling into a table." - Mona Holmes

4 Restaurants to Try Fourth of July Weekend in Los Angeles | Eater LA

"A little sister to a Montecito pizzeria located in a new retail market and food hall three blocks from the beach, offering pies such as the cacio e pepe (mozzarella, ricotta, pecorino sardo, cracked black pepper) and a meat lover’s pie with sausage, pepperoni, and pickled onion, plus simple green salads and antipasti like wagyu arancini and buttery garlic knots. A couple of sandwiches and desserts — including kid-friendly olive oil cupcakes crowned with citrusy buttercream — round out the menu. Make it a feast at the pizzeria or crawl through the market, which is also home to Santa Barbara favorites Corazon Cocina, a Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant, and Dart Coffee Company; once sated and — if needed — caffeinated, hit the sand. Recommended by Nicole Adlman, Eater cities manager." - Eater Staff

Bettina, one of Santa Barbara’s Most Popular Restaurants, Opens in Carpinteria | Eater LA

"Owners Rachel Greenspan and Brendan Smith—who run Bettina in Montecito—open a second restaurant nine miles south in Carpinteria on Thursday, May 22, 2025, located inside Linden Square, a mixed-use, food-hall–style development adjacent to Little Dom’s Seafood and less than three blocks from the Pacific Ocean; the 1,500-square-foot pizzeria has 15 bar stools and shared communal indoor and outdoor seating alongside other Santa Barbara imports such as Dart Coffee Co., Michelin Bib Gourmand restaurant Corazon Cocina, and Third Window Brewing. "No pastas or our intricate, seasonal plated dishes like we have at Bettina," says Greenspan. "We’re going for more of a chill New York pizza shop vibe, where you can still get our same [Neapolitan] pizzas, but with a little more fun." The kitchen will sling a margherita, pepperoni, mushroom, or sausage pie topped with caramelized fennel, shaved garlic, mozzarella, and provolone, cooked in an electric oven; gluten-free crusts are available. The menu also includes three salads (Caesar, baby gem with house ranch dressing, and a chopped vegan), meatballs in vodka sauce, garlic knots, and olive oil cupcakes topped with orange buttercream. Instead of arancini, the team developed a twist on the Roman street-food croquette, suppli al telefono, filled with a beef ragu and served with a tomato dipping sauce, and later in the year they plan to introduce square pies sold by the slice. A 300-square-foot provisions section features a wall with 32 wines plus sardines, pastas, canned tomatoes, coffee, tea, and their site-made salad ranch and Caesar dressing; the owners hope to service the nearby Carpinteria State Beach campground with grab-and-go items like bowls and quinoa salads. The spot is open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m." - Mona Holmes

Love this addition to Carp! I like having a casual alternative to Bettina with the same incredible pizza dough and lots to do within walking distance. Also the snack / provisions area is a great place to get snacks for the beach. Will be back!

Google
Hands down the best pizza in Carpinteria! The crust is perfectly baked...crispy on the outside and soft inside. The toppings are fresh and flavorful. The staff is welcoming and the service is quick. Whether you’re grabbing a quick slice or a full pie for the family, Tina’s delivers on quality and taste.

I have waited for Tina's to open, and joined their Insta page for updates. When they opened, I knew the wait for fabulous pizza, was over. I love Bettina's but waiting for a reservation when one wanted 'pizza now' was often met with frustration. Now, one can walk in and order, or call ahead and order and walk out...easy peasy. However, you may want to stay and eat it in the open air courtyard. It's beautiful and well appointed. Greenery, a water feature, heaters (for chilly weather), fire places, comfy couches, sweet seating, gorgeous wood tables, plants, etc. It's so pretty. There are indoor places to sit as well. There are high chairs for the littles, and access to restrooms. There are several resturants surrounding the courtyard. My friend and I each ordered the Pepperoni Pizza from Tina's. YUM!! They are delicious and are also lightly drizzled with Honey! Yum, yum, yum! She ordered a Ale from the Slam Burger place. I had a lovely Kombuccha from Tina's. We ordered Yellow-Tail Cerviche from another restaurant, and fried plantains which were so good! The staff was friendly and helpful. Everything was clean and so pretty. You order and then find a seat. Your buzzer will alert you when your food is ready. We sat on a comfy gray couch next to a fire pit. My only concern, was that the side "tables" were waaaay too small. And balancing your food on a fire pit was okay, but we wondered what we'd do if we also needed the fire to be on. Otherwise, our experience was awesome! The food was absolutely exquisite, and the new 'mall' was worth the wait. Tina's was/is worth the wait. It's just a short car ride away from Santa Barbara to Carp. Get off at the Linden Exit and follow Linden down until you reach the address, 732 Linden Avenue. Free parking on the street.

Absolutely phenomenal pizza. I’ve been to Bettina’s a bunch and always loved it so I was so happy when I heard they were opening another closer to where I live. The pizza was just as good and actually they had a new item, garlic knots which were amazing. I’m a garlic knot lover from my days growing up in New Jersey and these were better than any I ever had. Things were a bit chaotic there with so many customers around the plaza but the staff seemed to be trying hard to get the food out. Props to them

I feel so lucky that my friends suggested Tina’s for dinner. Some of the best pizza I’ve ever had. We got the margarita and pepperoni. I loved those roni cups. Perfect size and great taste. I’ll be returning for sure

Google
Delicious pizza! We love the full service restaurant and were eager to try Tina’s. It is just as good. Definitely our fav local pizza. The atmosphere was a bit chaotic in Linden Square because of the lack of tables available. It was super difficult to find a place to be able to sit and eat. Unfortunately, I don’t think we’d come back except for to-go orders. Fortunately, we can have an amazing dining experience at Bettina.

Google
Disappointed after hearing such good things about bettinas! The pizza was mid and in a pool of grease… wouldn’t pay almost $30 for this again. They also charge $2 for the smallest amount of ranch. On a positive note the customer service and atmosphere was amazing!

Google
Love the space! Amazing food, just as good as Bettina’s pizzas but with a casual atmosphere perfect for this small beach town.

Yelp
I'm not sure what's up with all the 3,2,1 star reviews? Maybe it was a bad day or they were figuring things out but when I ate there last week it was some of the best pizza I've tried around the area. Their sourdough loaf is also amazing. It's kind of hard finding a good bakery around Ventura. I was pleasantly surprised at how good their loafs are at a pizza joint! 5 star pizza for sure!

Yelp
It's really great to have this spot in Linden Square in Carpinteria. The pizza is amazing and so are the cookies. It's really the dough. It's something special and makes the crust incredible. I keep coming back to the pepperoni pizza. It's loaded with pepperoni slices and the honey is a great touch.

Yelp
We got the margherita pizza and a Caesar salad for $43 plus tip. Meh, just okay. Service was friendly.

Yelp
i've only eaten here once so far but the service was great and the pizza was absolutely incredible. Worth every penny. There is a great local craft brewery right next-door in the same open plaza called third window so easy to grab a pint there while you wait for your pizza and sit outside in the beautiful courtyard.

Yelp
It's fine if you don't mind eating burnt pizza while dogs are barking all around you. The counter service was OK, although a-bit unorganized and chaotic. Good luck finding a parking space.

Jared C.

Yelp
Had the BLT pizza, definitely would NOT recommend, unless you enjoy pizza so runny you don't know if it's grease, tomato sauce, or buffalo sauce, and the overall taste was not worth it's price, very underwhelming.

Yelp
Best pizza I have ever tasted! Would highly recommend the pepperoni pizza. Seating can be challenging but worth it!

Yelp
Finally tried Tina's Pizza at Linden Square. The crust was legit and the toppings were super fresh. Cool spot to kick back with good food and hang out. Can't wait to go back and try more.

Yelp

Yelp
What a great addition to Linden Square. The pizza is delicious, the service is professional, and the courtyard is guaranteed to provide a great setting for people watching or catching up with friends.

Yelp
The menu on this website for the Linden Square restaurant has "Meatballs Alla Vodka" listed at $12. When I went to order it today they said it was $25. I didn't know what kind of game they are playing but I walked out. I don't know if the rest of the menu is the same way.

Yelp
I think Bettina's is the best pizza in Montecito and I'm so excited that Tina's is in Carp, but there's some work to do. Pizza came out burn burned on top and not fully cooked on the bottom. Hope feedback helps and they can get the temp on bottom and top of the pizza oven right. I think they will... It's only been a week or so, so I imagine wrinkles will be ironed out. Great space and location, though.

Yelp
Excellent gluten free crust! We ordered the gf pepperoni, it was delicious. The sauce has a sweet basil flavor which I enjoyed. Staff is friendly, the patio is nice & has plenty of seating options. We will be back as this is easily the best gf pizza in the area. Really love the whole vibe of this spot: open, airy, easy to get to, non-pretentious. Must try!

Yelp
Fabulous like I knew it would be! Bettina's and now Tina's make the best pizzas outside of Italy!

Yelp
Delicious! Exactly what we expected from our beloved Bettina's. We had to check out and support the new Linden Square. It's stunning. The food options are literally what Carp needed. The chicken pesto sandwich with heirloom tomatoes and mozzarella was delicious. Support your local faves
