"Tinie’s is a mainstay on Fort Worth’s bustling South Main street and offers a modern take on Mexican cuisine. Located in a two story 1939 building, Tinie’s has a main dining room, downstairs covered patio, upstairs bar called Escondite, and a highly sought after rooftop patio - all of which offer an exceptional dining experience. The dinner menu features small plates like the tuna tostada, shrimp ceviche, and even a basket of tamales or birria style empanadas. Mains include classics like chicken and steak fajitas, and various tacos such as braised pork belly, Texas goat, adobo mushroom, and chipotle rubbed tenderloin." - Michael Ellington

The space itself is very cool. I don’t think I would recommend this to a vegetarian, nothing on the menu is marked “V” or anything, so I had to ask the server multiple questions about each item to see if it’s something I could eat or not. Even basic stuff, she told me the rice would be fine, but when I asked if it was made with chicken broth, yes it is.. so it’s in no way fine for a vegetarian. Beans have lard, tortillas have lard. There were a few vegetable sides that seemed to be okay… but I’m not really sure. Margaritas were not my favorite. Everyone who got meat loved it. The pisole seemed to be a big hit, and the pork belly tacos. This experience would have been a lot better if my server had more knowledge about the menu or if the menu was clearly labeled. Or maybe they don’t have a single thing safe for a vegetarian and that’s why nothing was labeled but I guess I’ll never know

We recently returned to this restaurant on a Saturday evening to celebrate a family member’s birthday, encouraged by the positive experience we had during a previous visit. The ambiance remained just as relaxed and inviting as we remembered. Upon arrival, we were seated promptly and greeted by our server, Brie, who made a great first impression. Unfortunately, the timing of the service did not follow suit. It took approximately 30 minutes to receive our drinks and another 30 for the appetizers. Our entrées were served nearly 45 minutes after we had finished the appetizers. To their credit, both Brie and the manager checked in with sincere apologies and explained that a large party upstairs had affected kitchen operations, which we appreciated. Where the evening fell short was in the food quality. While the presentation was nice, the flavors didn’t quite meet expectations, especially when compared to our previous visit. The fish entrée featured a well-prepared sauce, but the fish itself was overcooked. The tres leches dessert was decent. In total, dinner service stretched over two hours and forty-five minutes, which made it difficult to fully enjoy the occasion. While the staff was kind and attentive within their limitations, the overall experience felt underwhelming given the circumstances.

I was intrigued by their vegetarian options and was excited to try something a little different. This is not your typical Mexican restaurant. Instead of chips and salsa, we were served bread. I was not disappointed in the least. Loved the pickled onions and dipping sauce. For an appetizer, I had the best potato taquitos I've ever had. For dinner, I had amazing mushroom tacos with Pico. Rice and beans are served family style, but the beans are not vegetarian. I look forward to coming here when the weather is cooler and enjoying the patio.

It was better than expected, small cozy place with flavorful food. We started things off with a mezcal cocktail, that wasn't as floral as advertised but still tasty. Then we had the octopus, which was great, layered with flavors, acidic, somewhat spicy, crispy (the highlight of the night). Then wife had the goat Tacos with a side of nopales, very tasty as well. I had the duck enchiladas, I think another protein would have been better because I love duck, but hard to get any duck flavor with the sauce. Dessert was the spicy brownie, which was also really good with a hint of spicy. The place gets busy on weekends, so grab a reservation. Will definitely come back and try different dishes.

Delicious small plates and great service. Choice of indoor or patio seating with completely different vibes. Outside seating faces good truck area which is a little noisy with order announcements.

Google
This is a drink place first and food second. The cocktails are intriguing. They have a nice selection of non alcoholic drinks too. Appetizers left a lot to be desired. Queso was lack luster. Go here for a girl's night drinks .

A group of us arrived at the restaurant for our evening meal and asked if we could sit at the rooftop patio, which we were quickly escorted up there to a beautiful table, waiting for us. We were able to see the downtown views, as well as the neighboring neighborhood around us. the weight staff was on point, very dedicated to our group and the manager came over and visited with us. He was a very nice young man. The food was on point, please refer to the pictures. I got carrots, which were awesome crispy and tasty. We got the potato taco which is called like a Paco. We also got in the corn wedge salad, which was amazing and . we got the queso with chips, which was unbelievably awesome. Overall a great great meal, really had a lovely lovely time there. Recommended for anybody who is in the south main area also known as the Near Southside.

First time there and will definitely come back. Atmosphere was a very much a vibe. Elizabet was amazing!

Yelp
A small, local spot that we were happy to find. This is not Tex Mex but is delicious. You can tell they emphasize quality and details in the kitchen. The top shelf Margarita required 2 refills .........chips and guacamole were excellent and fresh. A basket of tamales were fun to pass around. They were huge and masa was perfect. The filling was slightly dryer than I would prefer. Finished with goat tacos and worth repeating. A fun, delicious spot

Yelp
Truly one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. Such a weird place. Our server was the worst I have ever had. Extremely awkward. Seemed under the influence if you know what I mean. Never tell us any of the specials. Wasn't helpful at all. Really strange individual. Didn't want to be there. He had long blonde hair if management is reading this (of course never gave us his name because he was unhelpful and couldn't tell his head from a hole in the ground). Queso was milky and gross. It's hard to mess up queso. Even bad queso is still melted cheese. Which is great. Nope! Leave it to Tinie's to somehow mess up queso! We ran out of water and he never refilled for 15 mins. Empanadas tasted like hot pockets. Tuna tostadas were decent but it's hard to mess those up (although Tinies managed to mess up all the other dishes). Only thing that was good here were the cocktails. Really well done. The bartender that made these needs to get out of this restaurant asap and go find themselves a real place to work. We ended up not ordering entrees and just left. There are a million great Mexican places in Fort Worth. We tried a new spot and we paid for it. This place will go under in the next 6 months for sure. Good riddance.

Michael G.

Yelp
Service was ok, it was early for dinner I guess. They set us on patio we had several wait personnel. Food was great We will venture back

Delvin B.

Yelp
Food was great, the ambience was nice. Really enjoyed each of our dishes. Would definitely come back again.

Yelp
Wow what a find! My new favorite place for queso, tacos and margaritas. Awesome happy hour and great staff!

Scott L.

Yelp
First time visit and it was wonderful. We really liked the look and feel of the restaurant and bar. Warm cozy and a bit rustic. Very comfortable and relaxing environment . Drinks were awesome- enjoyed the fresh choices. And food was very good. Flavorful but not overly salted. Table enjoyed tacos , salads and amazing fajitas. All were so pleased and impressed. Server was friendly and attentive. Will be back! Thanks so much.

Yelp
I noticed this establishment while walking from the bridge & downtown DFW peaking my interest with a huge entry door and upstairs outdoor seating. This isn't the typical Mexican spot I'm used to. Very hip and comfortable vibes. We ordered appetizers, chicken, and goat cheese salad. Everything was absolutely delicious. Our waitress, Liz and the manager, Lee were very friendly and helpful.

Krystal C.

Yelp
Finally found my pot of gold in south Main Street. I think tinies updated there menu and I'm here for it. Atmosphere- great spot with two different outdoor seating options. Rooftop with a view of downtown Fort Worth check. Service- we have always had great service here. Servers provide great suggestions for food and drink. Food- my new favorite thing....Hongos! Get them! So good. Also ordered the fajitas. The steak was cooked perfectly. Love they bring corn and flour tortillas.

amy c.

Yelp
The atmosphere is great at Tinie's, especially the upstairs bar and patio. Service is always on point, food is delicious , and the drinks are a work of art. Tinie's is our go to for night out.

Brandi K.

Yelp
This is a very bougee Mexican adjacent type of cuisine. We were seated immediately at our reservation time in a very dark yet really sultry restaurant. I felt like I was inside a whiskey barrel. The decor is really cozy and inviting. There is a large bar at the back and maybe 10 tables for seating. Our server was very attentive, constantly refilling our water glasses. We started with the chimichurri queso which was divine. Then I had the duck enchiladas while my friends shared small plates of tacos, empanadas and crispy octopus. Everything was absolutely delicious. I don't think the prices were too bad either. I do wish they explained their cocktails a bit better. I ordered something I thought was tequila, but it was actually mezcal and I LOATHE mezcal. Unfortunately I was stuck with a $15 cocktail I didn't enjoy.

LaNitria T.

Yelp
The first time I found this place I walked in and back out, not sure I liked the energy, waited a couple of months and decided to return for brunch. I opted to sit at the bar and the space wasn't wall to wall crowded, but there were quite a few guests. The food was flavorful, different, but good. The drinks I'd return for I like Mezcal and it's nice to find restaurants that find creative ways to make cocktails aside from swapping tequila for mezcal. I had good service from a young lady who was in the last hours of her last day working here. I haven't returned, but wouldn't be opposed, just isn't on the top of my experiences on Main.

Andrea D.

Yelp
Great food and awesome ambiance in the bustling South Main corridor -- the patio upstairs is perfect for a margarita with the Fort Worth skyline in the distance!

Marjorie B.

Yelp
This place rules. Food was fantastic. I had the chicken enchiladas, and, oh boy. They make a mean cosmo too.

Stephanie W.

Yelp
I love Tinies! The bar has a lot of very nice choices, from a house margarita to a mezcal option. The menu is also great, they do not skimp on options. It has a cute, intimate bar area, as well as a nice dining room plus a large patio upstairs. It also now hosts the twice a month neighborhood markets in the S Main neighborhood, and so far they are doing awesome! It is worth checking out for any of the above reasons.

Kendall H.

Yelp
Delicious food, great service & vibes! We came for Taco Mondays & Tuesdays for discounted a la carte tacos & $8 margs (very good). The tacos were delicious, but the apps stole the show! We started with the guacamole trio & shrimp ceviche - both fantastic with perfect chips. The ceviche was fresh, had complex flavors, and I could not get enough of it! For the guac - I recommend just getting the classic. For our entrees, I got the octopus with potatoes & chorizo and my husband got two tacos - goat & pork. We loved everything here and I can't wait to come back and try more. decor was beautiful and vibes are great for a date night or a casual get together. Location is fantastic near other bars and dessert shops to extend your time in Fort Worth.

Julisa P.

Yelp
The place was fair but not exactly what you expect of a Mexican called restaurant. The ambiance is great to have a good convo. But the food is not quite what you expect. We went on a Saturday at 2 and the place is limited to a brunch menu. We ordered a few items and it was just ok. The portions are quite small, expect to walk out of brunch and counting down to dinner It wasn't a horrible try, but would I return... no

Kelly O.

Yelp
Not a Tex max place. Do not expect chips and salsa or typical menu items! We expected these things and were a little sad. We got drinks and an appetizer . We got the empanadas, they were good, but just not what we were thinking. We didn't really see anything on the menu of interest. Ambiance was nice and service was good.

Gill S.

Yelp
Come for the mezcal selection, be very careful what you order foodwise, but don't go for a full meal here. This place is two stories, has a variety of different seating styles, and gets busy/booked fairly easy. As a walk in at 5pm on Saturday , the bar had plenty of space. The mezcal selection is top notch. I cant think of another location in Ft Worth where an entire page is dedicated for Mezcal. They have a good amount of Tequila as well, but the Mezcal selection is quite special. I started off with the Guacamole Trio. Based on the descriptions, I thought I was going to get three drastically different flavors. What I got instead was three avocados in three bowls, with minor differences in flavors and toppings. Of course theres a standard guacamole bowl. Theres a bacon jam topped one thats mostly just sweet. with no other dynamic. the last bowl just had huge flakes of salt and a scant amount of shrimp. Its all served with these oversized chips that are much bigger than a typical tortilla chip, but too small to be a tostada. I was pleased that the diameter of the chip actually fit into the bowls. For everything that I got, this wasnt nearly as special or as different as I thought it could be. I then ordered the "basket" of empanadas. I dont know why they use the word "basket" when they are not served in one. You receive three of them on a black cloth napkin on a plate with salsa verde. I wish they had chimichurri, but it makes more sense to hand out salsa verde when they already make it for other items on the menu. I didnt like that they called these birria style, yet there was no consome that came with it. Seems a little misleading in my book. All the empanadas had brisket in them, which did have a decent beef flavor. The empanadas was not flaky, sturdy enough to hold all the fixings, and had more the consistency of pita bread. They were OK but the dish felt underwhelming for how much I paid. The duck carnitas tacos felt like a cash grab. Duck meat on top of two tortillas with no onions, cilantro, or any other toppings (unless you count the tiny lime wedge they serve). The cabbage slaw tasted like straight mayo with no other flavor. I did enjoy the duck meat itself, but for what I get, 12 dollars is too much. Maybe if they gave three tacos or had more fixings I would find this worth it. Overall, I found the food overpriced for what I received, whether it was the quantity, presentation, or ingredients used (or not used). Granted I didnt try the full menu, but from what I tried, I find the food hard to recommend. I still highly recommend coming just for the mezcal bar though!

J Warren R.

Yelp
I like this place. Have to visit each time I am in Ft. Worth. I remain impressed with Tinies because of the consistently high quality of the food. The Mescal or Tequilla cocktails are all super delicous. Margaritas are made with fresh real ingredients (no premade mixes). On weeknights, down stairs seating is available. The upstairs patio was not available. All plates are sharable and should be. One of the best things to try are the tuna tostadas. Also try the authentic empanadas. Crispy Octopus was a hit - perfectly cooked and bursting with flavor. Tamales were exceptional. I don't think I could go wrong with anything on their menu. Some may think Tinie's is a bit expensive -- please remember, this is not your typical Tex-Mex. This is authentic Oaxacan Mexican food, clearly prepared with passion and knowledge

Lauren M.

Yelp
Stopped in for dinner while in the area for a work trip. Yummy food and drinks. They serve the larger style chips that you can break up. All of the salsas and guacamole that we had were unique and tasty! We were also there on an evening where they had street tacos. The chicken ones were great! Our server was super nice and knowledgeable and able to give lots of info for us to make decisions since it was our first time there.

Yolanda S.

Yelp
Tinie's is a great spot for brunch. The green chilaquiles are the best I have eaten. Everything about this dish was delicious from the sauce to the perfectly fried egg. The avocado toast w/potatoes were done to perfection.

Gem N.

Yelp
We came in here for drinks and appetizers before going onto another place. The place was packed but we managed to find a spot at the bar. The cocktails were amazing! Twists on some old favorites and some new (to me!) ones too. I tried the Pisco y pear and that drink alone will have me coming back! So delicious! The appetizers were all great - with the octopus being the standout star! I didn't like the potato taquito as much as my friend did (it didn't have a stand out flavor and tasted like just mashed potato to me) and the empanadas were a tinsy bit on the dry side - however the accompanying dipping sauce is to die for and offsets the dryness. Definitely will be back to sample the entrees!

Winston W.

Yelp
Took 15 minutes for waitress to show up. Had a reservation and served hot water while waitstaff stood in corner pointing at us. I wouldn't recommend this spot to any local person.

Brittany L.

Yelp
I've been coming to Tinies for years! Always love it, every time! Their new GM Toby was incredibly helpful and kind. He made us feel welcome and educated us on specials. I'm so glad they're bringing in new beers and updating their brunch menu! Stop by and check it out. You won't regret it!

Kimberly W.

Yelp
Tinie's Mexican is a cool little, and I emphasize LITTLE spot on South Main. It's located next to The Tarantula Tiki bar (so much fun, check them out), across from The Amphibian Stage. They are a great place to get a lot of small plates and share. There's nothing bad on their menu, everything is delicious. Check them out!

Elizabeth T.

Yelp
Service was terrible. Everyone taken care of but ours.. we found 2 black curly hairs in the breakfast tacos... Food not the greatest... go to Mercado or Joe T's!!!

Alexa M.

Yelp
I went on a night they had posted on instagram they'd have $1 tamales. To my disappointment it was only for late hours regardless I wanted to try them. $60 for 12 tamales is crazy but I was too scared to say never mind and hungry. I decided to still give them the benefit of the doubt and it was disappointing to say the least. So much dough and barely any filling. Atmosphere was great and service was splendid but the tamales were so disappointing. Haven't been there since

Yong J.

Yelp
Went for brunch one Sunday. It was not too busy because it's football season. The octopus I had was amazing. Can't wait to go back!

David R.

Yelp
In our quest to try out all the eateries on South Main, we finally visited Tinie's. What's it about exposed brick that makes you want to have a good time? One of life's mysteries I guess. Either way, walking in you'll find Tinie's to be quite welcoming, be it the exposed brick adorning the walls or the bar that is prominently featured in the dining room. There was plenty to ponder with all the great options on the menu. Some of the appetizer choices alone could have made for a good lunch, be it the tamales, empanadas, or ceviche. With tacos on my mind, we opted for the guacamole and those great in-house made chips and moved on to the rest of the menu. For my taco order I went with the Braised Goat, Rotisserie Chicken, and the Duck Confit, which was a special at the time. While all the tacos were great, I was a bit surprised to find that the rotisserie chicken to be the best of the trio. The Wife loved the torta she ordered and we polished off our delicious lunch with some solid house margaritas. So we now understand the hype with Tinie's and along with an outdoor patio and upstairs area that can be rented out for parties or events, is worth checking out. We will definitely be back. 4.5 stars

Becca S.

Yelp
We met up for happy hour on a Thursday and scored at table on the rooftop patio. It is a nice enough view that is best seen at night. The good: The service was fantastic. I believe our waitress was Elizabeth and she was delightful. The drinks were great and have good happy hour prices, but the bar menu does not apply to the patio. The bad: The guac. I don't know if it was an off day because there are plenty of reviews raving, but it was literally just mashed avocado with some cotija cheese sprinkled on the top. The menu states serrano peppers in it, but there was neither the flavor nor the heat. I grow serrano peppers, I am very familiar with them. It was not seasoned, no lime, nothing. Mashed avocado for $10.50. Southside is up and coming and the prices prove it.

Jonathan K.

Yelp
The place has changed a lot since we first started coming. The menu has changed quit a bit which wouldn't necessarily be an issue if the food quality was still the same. We ordered the goat cheese salad to split, and two different taco dishes. The salad was nothing like we've had previously. The tacos were accompanied by a pile of clump that was supposed to be a hearty cabbage mix. Not worth the drive across Fort Worth anymore.

September C.

Yelp
Tinies...the dwarf eatery with Giant Bites...it's been at least 2 years since I have visited this eatery but somehow it seems it is what my family has come to know as our go to place when visiting Funky Town Fort Worth. A prelude this evening was for myself, son and daughter-in love and a perfect one to be clear. Evan was our waiter this early-summer-evening, however I should make mention the host and his graciousness in accommodating our tardiness to our 4:30pm reservation, can the civil engineering in the metroplex make it easier to travel from southeast Dallas to Fort Worth please, as I sense if it were easier I would frequent Tinies more often. Now back to Evan, he was genuine and most willing to please, his timing of checking in on our table and allowing us to eat, converse, catch-up and connect was that of 5 star dining experiences, so BRAVO Evan! The menu...concise and with purpose, boast of small plates curated and guaranteed to excite and satisfy the palate. We started with Queso, Guacamole and Tuna Tostadas, followed by an order of the Potato Taquitos, along with short ribs, a side of tortillas, and ANOTHER ORDER OF TUNA TOSTADAS!!! It seems I could elaborate on the pure fresh use of ingredients but I would need a Thesaurus along with the knowledge of another language to express how "mangnifique" our dinner was. I'm hard pressed to decipher if it was the amazing service or the food, but as this thought leaves my mind I'm convinced it was the perfect balance of both. Here's to Evan and the staff at Tinies who continue to make our visits to Fort Worth, WORTHY.

Gabrielle P.

Yelp
Double date done *so* well at Tinnie's! The vibe was perfect -- atmosphere allowed for conversation without having to shout over the table. Recommend: house marg (Reposado + jalapeño) + blackened Mahi Thank you, Shay, for attentive service!

Travis R.

Yelp
Ambiance was nice. Was greeted with "do you have a reservation" I did not have one and the hipster host acted like it would be a problem. I asked if we could get a table on the upstairs patio and was told you can have a table on the downstairs patio. The service was good but the food was not. We ordered the queso and it was bland. The pork tacos were sweet with no salsa. The empanadas were just ok. I wouldn't recommend this place for a Mexican dinner. They don't serve miller light. The mixed drinks were good but $15 each. I left feeling unsatisfied with the entire experience.

Cole C.

Yelp
Bartender mixed me up his favorite Mezcal cocktail and 6 days later I'm still dreaming about it. So smokey and delicious! Food was also good. That crispy octopus... sooooooo good! ORDER IT. Tacos de Birria were good, although certainly not the best I've ever had. Skip. I think they named the restaurant Tinie's after the portion sizes. The items under the "comida" heading on the menu were either designed for small children or the expectation is that guests order 2-3 per person. Knowing how "tinie" the portions were, I think the bartender should have recommended we either double our order or add a side of rice and beans (which doesn't come with the "comida" selections). These quibbles aside, we were impressed with the drinks, the food, the service, and the ambiance. Will return on another date night.

desiree e.

Yelp
The vibe was awesome! It is a smaller restaurant but it looked so cute inside and the food was sooo yummy! Drinks were strong and good too!

Michelle A.

Yelp
The fajitas were way above average with the best home made tortillas. The Margs rock! Love the upstairs ambience. I would not get the chips and salsa again. Salsa was good but the chips were lacking in flavor

Craig C.

Yelp
I was looking for some quick tacos & instead I found one amazing taco joint! Really a disservice to call it a taco joint. Amazing staff, drinks & menu. Please have the octopus!! It's life-changing.

Loren B.

Yelp
We brought some first-timer friends with us to repeat at Tinie's for drinks and dinner on a Friday night and had a great experience! First I want to shout out to our amazing server Libby, who took stellar care of us! We arrived at a busy time and she kept the drinks, food, and refills flowing with a smile. Our guests both had margaritas and said they were outstanding. My +1 likes spicy drinks and asked for some customizations, which the bartender came over to clarify and was very game to mix whatever we were looking for. She liked what he came up with. On our first visit we enjoyed a drink in which they smoked the glass in front of us with rosewood chips. Mixology is definitely a strength here. We tried the Pulpo, which was delicious and cooked perfectly. We split two of the "large format" dishes between the four of us: Mexican Rotisserie Chicken and Crispy Duck Carnitas. None of these dishes wowed us, but were well prepared and had great presentation. I'd like to explore the menu some more before being too harsh on the food. Others have reported high marks for it. Tinie's atmosphere is post modern and fun. Plenty of bar seating is available both up and down stairs. Outside seating on a second story patio (it was really warm outside so we didn't look) looked fun when weather is good for it. The bathroom on the second floor is unisex and had an open window instead of air conditioning when we were there. I assume this will be fixed. Tinie's is an ideal starting point for dinner before walking up and down Main or Bryan to enjoy the bars and breweries of Southside!

Jess V.

Yelp
This place was everything I wanted plus more. The food was absolute perfection, the drinks were delicious made with quality ingredients, and the service was the cherry on top! We sat at the bar and enjoyed a few small plates followed by dessert. Portions were perfect for sharing. It's tough to pick a favorite but if I had to it would probably be the sirloin tacos. The guacamole is a must, it goes with everything and is so crisp and fresh. Highly recommend stopping by if you're in the area!

Brittany F.

Yelp
JOSIAH- our waiter was absolutely amazing! Everything he recommended was great. From appetizers to drinks to...DUCK' yes, he talked us into it. Sooo good. Very patient and kind, we didn't need for anything. He was on it without being too much. Great environment, music, everyone working there seemed nice and welcoming Can't wait to come back when it's a bit cooler outside to enjoy the patio area. Guac Trio- 5/5 Octopus- 5/5 Ceviche 5/5 Duck Dinner 5/5 Brownie Dessert 5/5 SO good. Just wish it was warmed a bit more. But great!

Luis S.

Yelp
It's original concept over time has transformed from a fast-casual Mexican rotisserie to encompass the fine & upscale. There are small dishes and large family-style options. We ordered: *Crispy octopus *Hand-Made empanadas *Tacos birria *Tacos de tenderloin *Churro doughnuts *Casita Margarita *Pisco Y Pear Service and flavors were on point. I was really surprised by the octopus. It was so tender and smooth. I have seen some enticing shots of their brunch. I'll have to go back for brunch asap.

Bryce C.

Yelp
Place is not authentic the service was bad found a freaking bug in my drink!! this is not Mexican food I know Mexican food when I taste it this was definitely cooked by white pepole (I'm Mexican) You definitely do not get what you paid for if you're looking for Mexican food in the Fort Worth area this is definitely not the place.

Nat S.

Yelp
I had come here for an event (where we had great service), but then came again just to have brunch. They have a great tequila selection for the area and the food Is phenomenal. Everything is fresh, and nothing seems very heavy. Their carrots are to die for, and their salad.... I don't know what they put in it, but I could eat that every day. Would definitely recommend this place for a nice evening out!

Kendall S.

Yelp
This restaurant and mezcalaria created by Sarah Castillo (Taco Heads) is really beautiful. Making use of a gorgeous 80+ year old building in the ever-burgeoning Southside, it's vibe and cuisine is very modern Mexico City. Downstairs is the main restaurant and bar and then there's a cocktail lounge called El Escondite on the second floor. It's the kind of place you can dress up for, chic and upscale and intimate, but it's ultimately cool and casual. Here's what me and my parties have ordered: Queso: chorizo verde, charred poblano, and house chips -- creamy and delicious! Crispy Octopus: potatoes, chorizo, chipotle aioli, oiled cured chiles, frisée -- sooo good. The char on the octopus is perfect. Aguachile de Snapper: apple, banana, radish, cilantro -- really bright and refreshing. Shrimp Ceviche: mango, serrano, jicama, leche de tigre -- one of the best ceviches I've had. And so pretty. Tuna Tostada: avocado, chipotle aioli, jicama, cilantro, lime -- fresh with so much great texture. Tacos de Tenderloin: chipotle rubbed tenderloin, spicy onion compote, cotija, cilantro -- super flavorful and tender meat. Tacos de Birria: braised goat, mole negro, radish -- I love goat!! Wish they gave you a consommé for dipping. Hand-made Empanadas -- didn't eat these as they aren't gluten free, but they looked and smelled amazing. House-made Tamales -- delicious. The masa is so good! Tacos... they've got all kinds of tacos, go on a Tuesday! Every dish is really beautifully plated and so colorful. You'll definitely want to take pictures of everything. I can't wait to come more often to make use of the rooftop patio. When the weather is nice sit up there and enjoy a little south Fort Worth skyline.

Yelp
I've been looking for a go-to Mexican place in Fort Worth and Tinies is it! All of the staff is kind and welcoming, even the owner stopped by to check in. The empanadas were very flavorful as well the queso. The steak fajitas were cooked to perfection and the cocktails were in point! Will be back regularly

Yelp
We where just dying man. Couldn't find a place to eat...I said next place we see we go. Boy will I never do that again. This place is the definition of MID. This is off nothing but the menu. I mean i haven't hated a piece of paper this much since my separation papers when they took my kids (f them kids) the food was great. Even though the portion was the size of my left testicle, it was still great. Overall 4/5 just cause i know what this place caters to and we are CLEARLY not it. If you like this video then don't go there.

Yelp
I very much enjoyed my time at Tinie's. The mood is set as soon as you walk through the door with the dim lights and red neon sign that illuminates the staircase to the second floor bar and rooftop dining area. The beautiful bar on the second floor is called "Escondite". It's rustic yet modern and seemed like a very good place for happy hour. We sat on the rooftop which was lovely and the view at night time was quite nice. Highly recommend sitting out here on a day or night when the weather is nice. I was with a large group, so we got a few apps and platters of tacos (it was Taco Tuesday) to share. The queso was a fast favorite, but the crispy octopus won me over in the end. If you're a fan of goat the braised goat taco is a must try, but all of the tacos were quite yummy. I would definitely suggest checking this spot out for a date night or happy hour with friends.

Yelp
Usually whether you go sit on McDonald's or a high end restaurant; you don't chew thinking: "what is the food cost of what I'm eating?" Often I see menus and shake by the prices. You go to Rosa's and get a bean & cheese for $1something. Then go to a high end restaurant and make comparisons that ruin your experience. And that's has been a battle in my mind that I've been trying to resolve. So this place had being in my radar for sometime. At first I thought was Italian for the longest. But my food partner (My fiancé: yaaaassss! She said yes May 9, 2022!!!!) corrected me few weeks ago. So we wanted some tacos or mexican food in any way possible. Yelp throw us here and when we open the door immediately felt out of place. We thought we were about to encounter a "Fuel City Tacos" or "Torchys" kinda taco place. But it leaned more towards the high end. Clearly it wasn't my average taco. First thing that my attention caught was how small and loud it was inside. If it wasn't because how loud ppl were chatting you would think was the most intimate vibe. The host in the front asked if if have reservation. Clueless we said no. But she found a table for us. As we walk the dining room it gets darker with even less light than the entrance. The decor was somewhat elegant, touched with rustic gold details and rough walls hidden in dark. Now the bar was everything to me as far as how it looks. Imagine walking though shadows. And at the end of the room is the bar. Shining like if it was flout on a stage. We got to sit in the dining room. But we knew there was no way would enjoyed our meal there. So I asked the server if we could sit at the bar. She said yes. The bar was empty. Ready set with plates and menus. Kelly the bartender quickly introduced herself and allowed us few minutes to explore the menu. The bar is essentially filled up with tequila and mezcal. Which I found very interesting. I honestly don't remember seeing wine at all. And almost right away we realized this place is going straight Mexican as they could. I mean they have an entire menu dedicated to tequila and mezcal full. We order a flight of shots each. Tequila for her, mezcal for me. We know tequila. But mezcal only in telenovelas lol. It has settled citrus but almost savory smoky flavor. Very delightful! I also saw a cocktail with a liquor I had before. But I had never seen in Texas (Liquor 43). So I ask Kelly if she could make me a cocktail I used to drink back in college. And she nailed it all the way! So are curious and get to meet Kelly, ask her! I'm sure she will remember. Even the couple next to us ordered the same drink. Ok to the food! The food menu didn't really scream at me. It was almost like going to my usual Mexican restaurant. I order some birrias plus some potato tacos. And I'm not trying to be dismissive or talk trash. They were ok. But for the cost it was not great in my opinion. Fort Worth has open so many mexican and Tex-mex restaurant within the last 2-5 years. That almost at any corner you could find a great taco. The presentation was really good, it tasted well. But I'm not sure if it was enough to be like: ugh I want to come back! Overall it was a good experience. Excellent service and a cool vibe. However, I don't necessarily feel as excited for the food. Would I come back to keep exploring the menu, and perhaps have a second thought on my review? Possibly.
