I'm going to a 7PM Yankee game with two other guys. I figured, lemme get some of that outrageous Bronx pizza before the first pitch. Somehow there was no traffic and I breezed into the Bronx? Yelp has the restaurant opening at 4:30, lemme grab a beer and wait. Well the restaurant never opened. One guy from Boston just shakes his head, Bostons Little Italy is never closed. And Rice hit 3 home runs on Saturday, silence! We're parked in front of Tino's Delicatessen. My other buddy says, what's this place? It's a deli, I said. Kinda like a grab and go. He peeks inside and said there's Ravioli?! I walk inside and see some Harry Potter stuff happening. Yes, straight through the middle of the store is a deli case with lots of prepared foods. But I spy with my little eye a wood burning pizza oven? They also make their own mozzarella? I'm down to clown, it's wood fired pizza or ball park hot dogs so I ordered a spicy pizza and sat down at the community table. The staff is fixed on the soccer game on the TV. So Tinos is a deli but also a pub? Right on man. My pizza comes to the table, I can see they got it down. Nice crust with little charr, solid sauce and homemade cheese. Overall, Tino's delicatessen puts a pub vibe with some solid food offerings. Once again, NYC rules and Boston drools.

This is my first time coming here the workers are very friendly. I don't know if the old guy is the owner but he was super nice he even asked me how was my food. I had a smashed burger it was delicious he said it was a new item on the menu. The burger was perfect it wasn't salty and it had flavor to it. I will definitely will be coming back and yes I do recommend this place.

Absolutely positively love this place. I have actually been here a few times throughout the years. This is the only place i buy sandwiches from in the area. I cannot put into words how beautiful it is inside. It's so clean and decorated so well. Everyone greets you, the people behind the counter, the person at the register and the owner. I love it here and I'm sure anyone else would too. They have so many items. I wish i could list them all but this would be the longest review ever. The have everything from freshly cooked food to imported items. It's a restaurant/deli/grocery in one. I normally get the Tino's sandwich. Its huge and very delicious. I love the roasted peppers that come inside with that amazing salami. I highly recommend it. My daughter and husband normally have a custom sandwich made of ham, salami, pepperoni, lettuce and tomatoes. I have also tried the tiramisu, it's so delicious and comes in this cut glass cup that i still have. The Lobster ravioli is absolutely delish, you buy it frozen here and make it at home. I have also gotten sauce from here and dried pasta. I couldnt recommend it enough. I will continue to come visit here. I look forward to trying different things with each visit.

Our first choice had a long line and nowhere to sit, so we took a walk around the block and bumped into Tino's. So glad we did! This is a full-fledged deli - you can select from their selections to make your own sub/sandwich/panini, or they have suggestions for them as well. I went with a hot ham, Asiago, roasted peppers, and spinach on fresh ciabatta bread. I had a few pepperdews stuffed with goat cheese as my side. Oh my yumminess! The bread was crisp and soft, the melted cheese paired with the spinach and sweet peppers was amazing with the ham. The sandwich was huge. The pepperdews were spicy and tasty. They also have a selection of gelato so we ended our meal with that. I chose the chocolate hazelnut flavor. They had several that sounded amazing. The restaurant has several tables inside as well as outdoor seating. It is a beautiful little spot. The aromas coming from their pizza oven and the back kitchen were amazing. They also have selections of pre-made selections such as eggplant Parmesan, meatballs, pasta, etc. If we had a frig in our hotel room we would have selected some goodies to take with. Staff was very friendly and patient with our questions. Masks are required unless eating.

This really isn't a deli it is a gourmet Italian market and restaurant. Delicious imported meats, cheeses, appetizers, gelatos, coffees.... It's not inexpensive but everything is well prepared and delicious. It's nice to get out of the crowds and sit in the air-conditioning and served. Tables were clean, counters were cleaned regularly and the bathroom was clean. John Carlos the owner came up and asked how everything was and as always it's delicious. Very hard to choose there is so much wonderful food. John Carlos's wife makes the eggplant Parmesan and other meals. His son is the pizza man and the fig Prosciutto pie looks tempting. We shared a smoked mozzarella, prosciutto sun dried tomato panini and small antipasto that were memorable.

One of the best deli's on Arthur Ave and I love coming back here. This is one of those places you can go back 50 times and order 50 different things. This time I was in the mood for fried eggplant. I mentioned that to the guy behind the counter and he took it from there. He put mozzarella, tomato, olive oil, and some greens on it. The fried eggplant had good texture and flavor. The other thing that stuck out is the sesame roll which was fresh and delicious. People rave about the mozzarella here and it did live up to the mark. Awesome sandwich. They also have hot food if you are into that. My first thought was to get the chicken parmesan since it looked awesome. They also had eggplant parmesan. I will try it next time. Definitely a must try when on Arthur Ave! So good.

Two of us shared the Godmother ($12) and the pastiera di riso (Easter rice pudding pie - weighed and ours was $5). The sandwich was good although I wish the bread was warmed up slightly which I may ask if they can next time. The pie was a bit like you might expect, and I wish there was more flavor to it but this is the first time I tried this.

We lucked upon Tino's while walking around. When we walked in the smells coming from their pizza oven were incredible. They had a wide selection of everything you could ever imagine from meats, cheese, pastas and more. I decided to have a Rescue 3 Specialty that had Honey roasted turkey, fresh mozzarella, sun dried tomatoes and roasted peppers on ciabatta bread. It was toasted to perfection and was incredible. All of the flavors mixed together tremendously. My sister ordered some pepperdews and was very nice and shared with me. I had never had them before but was very glad I tried them. They were very good. We ended our meal with gelato. They had a nice selection and allowed us to sample to decide which one we wanted. It was a hard decision as they were all delicious but of course I ended up with something with espresso in it. I decided to also buy some gnocchi to take home since my niece has a wonderful gnocchi soup that she makes. I thought it would be a great addition to it and it sure was. It was very, very good. All of the staff were very friendly and helpful. If you are in the area, Tino's is a definite must to try.

I'm being generous with two stars because I know how good they USED to be. Come on Tino's, what's going on with you guys? For years we at P.S.23 have been ordering from you guys, I'm talking about over 10 years. I understand that prices have gone up, but my favorite salad went up from $13 to $15 in a matter of a year. I would be ok with that, but the size is smaller, and it's no where near the same quality. The eggplant mozzarella rolled up salad normally used to have eggplant rolls, romaine, fresh grated parm cheese, green olives, roasted red peppers, and cucumbers. This time it only had eggplant rolls, romaine, and tomatoes. They also used to give 2 dressing pouches, now only one. After tip, this salad was $18!!! That is utterly ridiculous, especially if it was missing all those items. Shame on them. I'll also add, that in the past, when they make mistakes they are very righteous and do not remedy the problem. They are aloof about their mishaps.

Tino's...our spot after a first trip to the Bronx Zoo! It was a cool fall evening and we had worked up quite an appetite walking around all afternoon We ordered the eggplant parmesan and the "mouth on fire" hero. The food was good, not great and the sizing really confused me. The options were "small or large" for 9.95 and 10.95. I ordered the large which then got weighed and priced at 13.95. when I asked the cashier she said this was extra large, which was not even in the menu. Not a big deal, but still confusing. The staff was friendly and the ambiance casual with places to sit after you get your food and pay.

When we came here after a nice day at the bronx I had high hopes... I love italian food and there are so many great place in little Italy in the bronx. While it was still ok I left a little disappointed. We ordered eggplant parm and a spicy italian hero. The hero was good (I would rate it as a 4-), there was too much bread for the amount of meat they placed and the sandwich was a bit dry as well. The eggplant parm was just ok (about 3 stars) it was a bit cold. There was some confusion on the price as well which I did not appreciate. The atmosphere was good and the staff was friendly. Overall, this place was not bad but I would only return if I was in the area and there are better options. In this area there are lots of other good options so I am unlikely to return. This gives it a 3 star in my book.

Not a single employee properly masked. I love the food here, but I will not go back until the pandemic is over. If you don't care about that, it's great.

I've had a few things from here. The paninis are delicious. I've had la capricciosa panini and la nonna panini. The chicken is well seasoned delicious. Good sized panini, nice sized pieces of chicken. Now the reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I also tried their meatball parmesan and the taste and consistency reminds me of chef boyardee... gross. I recommend the paninis.

I really liked the chicken parm sandwich I got here, but (for me) it doesn't stack up favorably against what I think are the best ones in the city -- eg Faiccos, Defontes, Parm, etc. The sandwich is big and the chicken is really good, with good sauce as well. But the bread is just okay, and you're bathing in the sandwich by the end -- it doesn't have the structural integrity that is the hallmark of the sandwiches at those top few places. I don't want to be negative -- I liked Tino's a lot, but I'd bet on it being the best chicken parm sandwich on Arthur Avenue, just not in the city itself.

Love this place! My younger brother goes to Fordham so at his last track meet we decided to take the quick walk over to Tino's for lunch. They have so many delicious options to chose from! I ended up getting the eggplant supreme hero which was very good. We also got an arancini to share which was amazing. Definitely want to make it back down to try some of the other options. They have a number of sandwiches, as well as hot meal options and a selection of drinks, chips, cookies, etc. It's also extremely clean inside which you don't always find in deli's. I also got a coupon for a free tote bag with a $25 purchase when I checked in on Yelp. Never seen that before but loved it - could always use another tote bag.

Stopped in for some gift snacks and the owner is one of the sweetest people. Picked up a very interesting torrone with Strega that wasn't really found in other shops. Brought home ravioli, tortellini, and homemade vodka sauce. It's very tasty and the ravioli is so packed with cheese. Even had a cappuccino to sit and enjoy for a bit. The people are wonderful and the atmosphere is welcoming. Haven't had a sandwich there yet but you better believe that's my next task.

Best Italian deli in NYC! Especially love the eggplant parm. Staff has a heart of gold. My mom lost her heirloom bracelet here and the staff held onto it for us until she came back hours later looking for it. Thanks so much guys !

Came here before going to the New York Botanical Gardens. It's about a 10-15 minute walk to the gardens. WAIT: You have to wait to order so that may take some time depending on how long the line is. Then, you wait about 5-7 minutes (longer if you get a panini or hot sandwich) for them to make your sandwich. Overall, not too bad but it's not as quick as Chipotle. ATMOSPHERE: The place is pretty large. For a nice day, they open up the entire front so you feel the breeze. There are chairs both outside and Inside. A few larger tables and a long table with bench type seating. Came around noon on a Saturday and it wasn't that crowded. I think most people were taking their food to go. When we left around 1:45 it was definitely more crowded. The left side is where you order, you should line up and then they'll help you one at a time. It may get a little confusing because people walk back and forth looking at the menu or options in the display case. Then, you can move over to the other side where you wait for them to make your sandwich then put it on the counter to pick up. Grab any other drinks or snacks and then pay at the separate cash register. FOOD: A lot of people get the paninis or hot sandwiches, but I wasn't quite in the mood for a crunchier sandwich. The sandwiches are definitely pretty big. Enough to share with 1 person and feel just satisfied or to eat all to yourself and feel adequately stuffed. TINO'S COMBO - your classic cold cut sub. Soft, baguette type bread with salami, ham, mortadella (sp?) and a mild white cheese. Some lettuce, roasted peppers and olive oil and vinegar give it a nice tart taste to cut through the saltier meats. It was pretty good! I liked the soft baguette roll. I think next time I'll try the other paninis or hot sandwiches. Overall, a great cheap option ($9 for a huge sandwich) and I would come back.

I needed to get two sandwiches for my kids. I walked in there. Didnt feel like going to the market. The Ave was packed! Didn't find them to be friendly at all. Food behind the display case, didn't look as fresh as I would expect. I know Arthur Ave is a big "tourist" spot. Not for me! I frequent the neighborhood often. I found what I ordered to be very over priced. Chicken cutlet on a club roll, w lettuce, tomatoe and mayo = $9.00. Then I ordered the same sandwich and just added fresh mozzarella =$10.50. I can't tell you how it tasted, Bc I didn't eat it, my kids did. But it's a ckn cutler sandwich!! And nothing out of the ordinary!

Got a couple of cold hero's. There is more meat in my pants than there was on the bread so sadly, not much. I think they waved a piece of fresh muzz over the bread because it wasn't noticeable. Sadly they are not what they used to be.

I love this spot. When my family and I visit the Bronx's Little Italy, we just about ALWAYS head over to Tino's. We first got addicted because my husband used to work at a hospital in the area and it has become a staple in our dining routine. They have a group of people ready to take your order so even if you see a crazy line, don't be discouraged because they are orderly and take food orders very quickly. During daily lunch times, you may have difficulty finding a seat because a lot of people come here for lunch. As I said before, there is a hospital in the area, as well as a college, so there are A LOT of people who love their food. Fortunately, if it is a nice day, there is a park right next door so you can enjoy your grub in the sun. All of their food is FRESH and although I haven't tasted every sandwich, I am sure you can't miss with any type. Their food is GOOD! I usually get the food in the cases, like the Eggplant Rolatini or Broccoli Rabe. Sometimes the matriarch of this establishment, Rosa, make these wonderful salads, like Chickpeas or my FAVE, her Farro (Italian Barley) Salad. It is a nice summer snack. I used to drive all the way from Westchester just to get some Farro but she doesn't always make it. So I took the initiative and asked her how to prepare it. She gave me the recipe and they also sell the farro right there in-store so I started making it at home. So tasty!! They've started selling Gelato, also, and I can't wait until I have enough time to try some of that out. Aside from their hot/cold foods and sandwiches, they also sell some really nice Italian groceries. So many sweets. When you purchase your order, also pick up a Duplo candy. Yummy chocolate hazelnut deliciousness.

Three words: Chicken. Parm. Sub. This is an awesome deli on Arthur Ave! They have a ton of different Italian options so anyone can find something they like. My boyfriend and I usually split a chicken parm sub and another sandwich. Root beer on the side as well (love that they have the old fashioned sodas). They have good seating both inside and outside. Staff is always friendly and efficient when making your order. Can't wait to come back!

Disappointed with the lack of flavor in the chicken parm and eggplant sandwiches here. They are served on the hugest hero rolls ever (too much bread), have a good amount of sauce and both the eggplant and chicken were very tender. Very little cheese and not too oily. That is all good but the strange thing was that even though they had a good amount of sauce, the sauce added zero flavor. It was perhaps the most flavorless sauce you could get (but didn't taste like paste- that's a plus). The chicken had no flavor, but the eggplant did. Having just the eggplant alone would have been quite good. Very friendly service!

Sometimes I wonder if Tino's might be a tad overpriced, but I suppress this curiosity after the first bite each time I visit. I am impressed with the quality of the ingredients here; it is clear this the focus of the delicatessen. Such freshness and attention is clear in the coming together of each dish, as in the Buoco de Fuoco, my all-time favorite sandwich. I would recommend Tino's to individuals, families, and all groupings in between as the deli can handle variable volume. Impress your friends and take them to Belmont's greatest delicatessen (not an understatement).

Omg how delicious! Who thinks that the little Italy to know is located in lower Manhattan is probably to scared of the Bronx. While picking the Italian place to go in the neighborhood, Tino's not just caught our attention by amazing smell, and authenticity of the store. The Italian originals working there and the locals in line build up trust and the food outlived my expectations. And I am very custom to Italian food in Italy from my yearly childhood vacations. I especially loved every single bite of the truffle oil white pizza .

While I haven't been to every Italian deli in NYC, I am confident that Tino's is the best in the city. There are days where I am craving Tino's so much that I will take the long ride to the Bronx just to satisfy my craving. Everything is outstanding - for first timers, I recommend the chicken parm hero, yum! I love the pasta fagioli with some fresh Italian bread on the side. If you're looking for something different, I also sometimes custom order a panini with breaded chicken, mozzarella and pesto sauce - amazing! Aside from the prepared food, soup, and sandwiches, all of their coffee beverages and cannolis filled fresh on the spot are absolutely incredible! Better yet, Tino's caters so give them a ring for your next family party or Fordham tailgate. Don't make a trip to the Bronx zoo or botanical gardens without making a stop at Tinos, you have no idea what you are missing!!

Overrated. It's to the point that if someone even mentions the name Tino I shudder.

I usually don't write Yelp reviews unless I really feel it is necessary and I was absolutely outraged by how OVERPRICED this place is! - Large chicken parmigiana $12.95 This was probably the only reason why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1. It is your average chicken parmigiana, but they served everything hot, which made it taste a bit better. This order had enough meat to feed like 3 people. So price wise, it was decent. - "Side" Spaghetti with Mariana sauce $8.95 All we wanted was a simple chicken parm over a bed of spaghetti, something we thought would be ($12) but no, this place does not do that. They only have small, large, or hero orders of chicken parm, leaving us to order spaghetti on the side. This was not a side order, maybe the worker didn't understand what we meant but the order was huge and the pasta was very water-y. There was a decent amount of sauce but it did not stick to the pasta and instead, created a thin tomato soup consistency under all the spaghetti. - Penne Vodka ** with pork **($9.95) This did not sound bad, but it was! I was expecting a LARGE portion or at least 2 servings for that price! This portion was very small! (I mean it's probably how much pasta a normal person should be eating but I wanted way more pasta than what I was given.) it tasted very mediocre. I can make this myself using sauce from a jar, for 1/4 of the price. Overall, I was NOT happy with this prices of this place! Not that I don't mind paying a lot but I expect it to be higher quality for that price. There were a lot of people during lunch time and I have seen a bunch of good Yelp reviews on their pizza and sandwiches but our total came out to be $35 for food that I can make at home for much less, I DO NOT recommend!

The fact I lived a block away and just never stopped in saddens me. But on a positive note the food is Delish! It's my second time driving down here and stopping at Tino's, although I feel it's a bit pricey, it's worth it -- the food is flavorful & fulfilling. I had Chicken Parm w/ziti & also Eggplant parm. Oh so good. Definitely be back.

Great Italian mainstay deli in the heart of BX Little Italy (NY's REAL Little Italy). Hefty specialty sandwiches, hot homemade comfort food, gelato, and imported groceries. There are a few tables to sit at for lunch, and usually sidewalk seating in nicer weather-equipped with some terrific people-watching! I love to order the Tino's combo, on seeded hero, add red onion. Today I had the penne vodka, which was hot and yummy, and meatballs, which were just quite surprisingly 'meh' -just basic. This place is a big hit with the cops & firemen as well as the locals, so rest assured, it will not disappoint!

I came here with my best friend to have some lunch. I have always been a firm believer that if i'm going to have Italian food it has to be at a little Italy somewhere. This time we went to the little Italy in the Bronx, I have been to the area before but never to Tino's. I was very pleased with the customer service. I was confused as to the ordering and paying order but the lady at the counter was very nice and explained it to me. It was lunch time and I was very pleased that we didn't have to wait for hours in order to get out lunch. I ordered a classic spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs were really delicious and had great flavor. I liked the fast-paced of the place, place your order pay and stay or go! The ambiance was quaint and it was a good size. Will deft come back again and try new things on the item.

If I was allowed to wish something for a business, it would be that I wish this location was closer to me - like right next door. I don't come here as much as I wish I could because of it's location, but when I do their food completely hits the spot and does not disappoint. Ever, This is about as Italian of a deli as it gets with it's selections. The selections are plentiful and there isn't enough space here to list them all or even get close. I usually get a sandwich from here most of the time. They are very generous with their meats in the heroes, that a friend of mine often takes out a bunch to save for a later sandwich. There's spots inside to sit and eat if you want to, though I never have. One complaint from other reviewers is the price. I hardly have any complaints about the price (though I've never ordered much more than a sandwich - though that will eventually change). The food is great here and from what I've seen, the prices seem about right for the selections and the area. I don't like getting overcharged for anything, but I have had no issues when it comes to paying at the register. No surprises. The staff is always very friendly. Parking is horrendous here. It's Arthur Avenue and gets VERY busy during the day and on weekends. If you're lucky to find street parking, be sure to check the signs since there are various times you can and can't park, as well as there are meters you need to pay for. There's municipal lots around the general vicinity if you prefer that. If you're in the area for some good quality food or just for a simple hero or wedge, try this place out. You won't regret it.

Nice place inside. All I had was the gelato which was really good! And I ate 2 of my girlfriends mozzarella balls. They were really really good! Freshly made and warm! Just the way it should be!! I'd go back for that alone

Cozy, laid back, and fresh delicious foods. I only ate here once but by the taste of the sandwich I ordered, I know everything else is good here. The food in other people's plates lool good as well and the atmosphere was very positive. Highly recommended for a quick lunch.

Food is great but I feel like the prices always change and are often made up. For example, if you get a sandwich without cheese and add something like broccoli rabb instead, it'll come out to like $12, instead of the advertised price. We joke about the price going up or being different every single time.

Owner tried to charge me $5.75 before tax for a bacon egg and cheese with an extra egg. I said no and he walked me (forced me out) out of the place, told me to get out. Went to a bodega near by, got the same thing for $2.75. The food is decent there though but seriously? take your medication dude.

Deli food and hot food looked good . I got the #1 which was chicken cutlet fresh mozzarella panini . They only put 1 really thin cutlet and small amount of cheese . It basically tasted like a bread sandwich.

When on Arthur Ave I typically drive right past this spot preferring the block that immediately follows--for no special reason. This time around however, a parking spot opened in front of Tito's Deli just as I was passing by. Parking on Arthur Ave around dinner time is a privilege and I promptly seized the opportunity to dock. From the outside Tito's looks like it is a cross between a theme restaurant and multi-vendor market. Once inside I noticed several stations purveying Italian domestic and imported goodies and an ad hoc restaurant. In the middle of the market there are refrigerated cases displaying prepared foods, italian charcuterie and cheeses. The walls are adorned with various Italian and other ethnic goods for sale. There's a wine bar by the register and a brick-over in one of the rear corners. We bought some meatballs, truffled-Pecorino cheese, an imported italian salami and a couple of glasses of Montepulciano to enjoy at the front tables. The facade of Tito's opens to create an open air cafe on Arthur Ave. This was a particularly nice day and people were enjoying their freshly baked pizzas and other goodies. Amongst them was Giancarlo who later introduced himself as the owner-proprietor of Tito's. Giancarlo also gave us the history of Tito's and his contribution to Tito's new era. we arrived late and my only regret was that Tito's closes at 7:30PM. Otherwise we would have invited some of our friends from Manhattan to join. Can't wait to return...

I'm becoming a pretty seasoned regular at Tino's, which is my go-to Bronx deli for lasagna and ravioli. I'm gonna give them an A+ for the eggplant parm and stuffed shells. I've never had a negative experience here.

After all these years, Tino's is still an Arthur Ave must for me! Delicious sandwiches and a lovely variety of hot homemade Italian dishes (stuffed shells, chicken/eggplant/veal parmigiana, lasagna, to name a few) and freshly stuffed cannoli! Also enjoy the selection of European treats and beverages by the register. Great stop if you don't have time for a lengthy sit-down dinner, but still want the quality of authentic Italian. Doesn't get any better than this!

Is it really authentically Italian? Yes, but it depends on who serves you. When it comes to building your sandwich, as always, different strokes for different folks! Some servers are better than others, keep in mind sometimes you might be disappointed with the meat to bun proportions, the cheese factor and the fact that you have to pay a whole extra $1 to have it pressed. The godfather and Tino's combo are good but the few times I've ventured out to try other things, chicken parm I'm looking at you! the taste and consistency was meh. I've also tried their pastas, tiny portions big $$ and their gelatos, again tiny portions, big $$. It's definitely a great place in Arthur Ave. but I cannot provide a higher rating since all my experiences have just been ok.
