"Jose Garces’s Spanish stalwart Tinto returns to Rittenhouse Square after a nearly year-long hiatus with a new name and menu that trades tapas for Basque’s beloved bites known as pintxos. Tinto Pintxo opened this week with takeout and delivery to start through Garces Trading Company’s ghost kitchen at The Olde Bar. On-site takeout, delivery, and dine-in service will kick in by March (or as soon as Philly’s current COVID-19 guidelines loosen to 50-percent capacity). Indoor dining resumed this month at 25-percent capacity after an eight-week break. Garces’s revised restaurant doubles as a new to-go bottle shop stocked with hard-to-find Spanish wines, with a cava, red, and white list expected to grow up to 70 selections. Patrons can also sample Tempranillo and other native grapes via tasting flights, discounted bundles, and a wine club membership. Tinto Pintxo won’t roll out its full menu of assorted Spanish snacks until indoor service starts. Over the next few weeks, patrons can preview a cross-section of dishes via a takeout and delivery deal. The teaser menu kicks off with Spain’s prized pig (cured jamón serrano), Spanish cheeses paired with membrillo, or jelly cubes made from quince fruit; and bite-sized pieces of its namesake pinxtos like cordero (lamb Loin, eggplant, bacon, sherry) and jus chistorra (spicy pork sausage and parsley). A 'tins and toast' section includes fried sardines in tomato sauce, tuna belly in olive oil, and esparragos (jumbo white asparagus)." - Tierney Plumb

"When it comes to dining out as a group, everyone’s got an opinion. We get it, and have a full guide for such occasions. If you want to keep things simple though, Tinto is a solid option with plenty of different tapas to choose from, along with over 100 different wines. Head over during Happy Hour for $5 sangria and selected tapas at the bar on the main floor, or you can sit down for a full meal in the downstairs dining room." - Jordan Price

LOVE this place. I highly recommend the chefs tasting menu. Spanish octopus was our favorite. The sea scallops were also very good. They were also very accommodating with our food allergies. Our waiter gave great recommendations on wines to pair with the food as well. We’ve gone on an intimate date and also a fun family dinner with 6 of us. Will definitely be back!

Amazing food and service here at Tinto. We try to stop in about once a year and always go for a variety of small plates. They are packed full of flavor despite their size and we always leave stuffed yet wanting more. The dishes are complex and rich so go with an appetite ready.

Great small restaurant that can be difficult to find but has a distinct “Madrid” feel with no windows and heavily decorated interior. The new manager is a som who knows wine, therefor he has sourced amazing Spanish wine that would be unobtainable in any other place. The food is good and the service is fantastic. I was so happy to dine here after the owners had forced pandemic closure for more than 1 year. Space is very limited so book ahead. +\- 6 tables. Highly recommended for a late afternoon tapas run or lay night dining in Philly.

One of my favorite tapas places in the city!! I came here with my friends on Christmas Eve and we were amazed at how good everything was as well as their drinks too The restaurant is also pretty big and spacious We got their octopus, paella, scallops, cheese/charcuterie, and potatoes and they were all so good! We cleared every single thing! Would definitely recommend and I will definitely be coming back here again!

Great selection of wine and cocktails! I got the basque cocktail and it was delicious! Sweet and citrusy, how I like it. The red wine I got, i forgot the name, was very smooth and silky. They have a nice outdoor seating which was great on a nice sunny day. The service was very good, the staff was friendly and very informative. There was a male waiter who dressed very well!

Didn't realize that I never wrote a review. I tried getting into Tinto 3 times before as a walk in. Always fully booked. So don't bother just walk in, it is small and busy. I finally planned it ahead, and drove to PA for a day trip. It was worth it. The food is superb, lots of choices, great wines. We had the ribs, octopus, the dessert was amazing and it is romantic as well!!

Great food with a romantic and Spanish atmosphere. We had the trout, sprouts, mushrooms, as well as the albondigas for dinner, and the flan for dessert. I would highly recommend the trout and the flan. Both were perfectly made. I would also recommend the white sangria. It was very refreshing.
