The Bachelorette Party’s Guide To Austin

"Tiny Boxwoods is another place you’ll want to visit early in your bachelorette odyssey, while everyone is still excited to look presentable and before anyone’s busted out any potentially inappropriate props. This place looks like a cross between a miniature country club and a fancy pool house, and it’s a great option for sitting outside with some sangria. Food-wise, the place serves everything from chia seed pudding and açai bowls to migas and a solid burger, along with the kind of chocolate chip cookies you’ll wish you had the recipe." - raphael brion, nicolai mccrary

Parking - there’s a lot with several spaces, more parking at the complex next door, and some street parking next to that. Can be difficult/hectic during prime brunch hours. Reservations are recommended (when possible) as they can get very busy. I’ve been here a couple of times (once seated at a table, twice at the bar). The table service was great and the waiters were attentive. The bar service is hit or miss, on one occasion sitting near the coffee machines, we felt very rushed by the bartender - we were planning to order some pastries to go, but we were just given the check right after getting our entrees. Food - Pastry board - a good option if you have a couple pastries that you want to try. The vanilla bean brioche is amazing - would 100% get again, the chocolate croissant was good, and I would skip the chocolate & orange croissant next time - this was good but nothing special. Migas - very good and filling. Overall rating 5/5. Breakfast Sammie with sausage - everything was great about this, the eggs, protein, and even the side of potatoes. A bit heavier but delicious. Overall rating 5/5. Burger - got this during a different visit and it was also very good. The fries were good, but not my favorite. Overall rating 4/5.

Google
We visited Tiny Boxwoods during a weekend trip & it was absolutely one of our very favorites! Whenever I return to Austin, this will be a must! Not only is the surrounding area very cute, but the restaurant is very tasty! We both got the 'Mother's Breakfast' with a side of fries - one side of house fries & another of waffle sweet potato fries. Truly you can't go wrong here!

Google
I was lucky to get a parking spot right in front for Sunday brunch. The parking lot is very small and a market was taking up half of it. They do offer valet. We sat outside and it was a beautiful day. It is a very relaxing garden atmosphere that is so unlike most places in Austin. It felt more like an east coast beach town than anything else. It was hard to choose, but felt like a sandwich and took the waiter’s advice to get sweet potato waffle fries. There’s a little bakery next door and we got sown treats to go. Overall amazing experience and would come again.

Google
We had a small baby shower brunch this weekend at Tiny Boxwoods in Austin and it was 10/10!!! This is the perfect place for a date or brunch with the girls. First of all, reserving a table with a phone call to the restaurant was really easy and they were very accommodating when I wanted to add another person a few days before. The vibes - immaculate. The details - they didn’t miss. Even their menus are beautiful! They have delicious iced lattes and their appetizers were DELISH. I’m still dreaming about the wood fired artichokes! Our food was amazing. Our server was great and I have zero complaints about anything. I can’t wait to go back!!!

Google
My girlfriend and I were looking for a quick cute brunch spot this morning. We found Tiny Boxwoods and thought the vibe was nice and the food looked great through some of the photos online. Once we arrived, parking was definitely a bit difficult. However, we found a spot and walked past Tiny's Milk and Cookies (my GFS favorite), and we're excited to find out they were directly connected to Tiny Boxwoods. We didn't make a reservation, but I would highly recommend it! We got lucky because there was a table for two directly in the sun that no one else wanted lol. While the sun was HOT, the atmosphere made up for it! Our server was so kind and very helpful. She answered all of our questions and even let us in on some tips that made us so excited to come back! (Hint: Pastry board=Tiny's...). We ordered the Turkey Avocado Club Sandwich as well as the Lucky Burger. We split both and nobody was disappointed! The club had a perfect balance of pesto and avocado while the turkey was fresh and filling. The burger was simple but in the absolute best way possible. The bun was fluffy and the meat was cooked well! The patty just melted in the mouth! Both sides (sweet potato and regular fries) paired very well with the main entree! We are so excited to come back for that pastry board ;))

Google
Very chic place with a stylish and welcoming atmosphere. The ambiance is perfect for a relaxed brunch or a casual meal with friends. The avocado toast was a standout—beautifully presented and packed with flavor. The avocado was well-seasoned, creamy, and fresh, while the thick-cut bread had a perfectly crispy crust, which I personally love. It had just the right balance of crunch and chew, making every bite satisfying. The enchiladas were also good. The portion size was medium, and the flavors were well-balanced. The sauce was rich and sour. The cheese was melted beautifully, adding a nice creaminess without overpowering the dish. Overall, the food was thoughtfully prepared, and the quality of ingredients was evident. I’d definitely recommend this spot for anyone looking for a delicious meal in a chic setting!

Google
Food here is always great, especially the pastries! Family friendly and delicious with a beautiful patio area. Staff are super friendly and helpful, and food is great. Perfect for lunch or dinner on a sunny day. My favorite dishes are the French toast and the grilled cheese, and I never skip the brioche bun or chocolate croissant.

Google
Meh, nice atmosphere but food was bland. The Fried Green Tomatoes didn't have much of an identity. The Pepperoni and Sausage pizza looked and tasted like a kids pizza. The pasta & Caesar salad was alright.

Yelp
lunch spots in town! It is such a charming, cute place. The patio seating is amazing. There is ample free parking and you can also make reservations. The service is always impeccable and the food is positively divine. I had the seasonal salad with chicken the last time I was here and it was delectible! I do think they have one of the best burgers in town and they have a nice wine list, too. One item where they could improve is that they gave me dining friend caffeinated coffee when she ordered decaf. She was up all night. Not cool and that is why I am only giving 4 stars.

Yelp
I came here with a large group with on a weekend. The waitress was really helpful and accommodated all of our questions and requests. The interior was very cute, made me feel like I was inside a cozy cabin or greenhouse. I loved the biscuit platter. The biscuits were very flakey and loved it with the butter and jam. I didn't love the grits on my breakfast plate but everything else was good.
google avatar

Yelp
I came here for lunch yesterday and had a wonderful time! Tiny Boxwoods is such a charming and classic restaurant. The ambiance feels like a cozy cabin, with the fireplace going and the pretty patio with a classy backyard feel. There is parking onsite but it fills up quickly. Thankfully there is street parking nearby. Our server Tristian was a sweetheart and recommended some great drinks. I started with the South Congress 75 which is just a twist on a French 75. All cocktails are $15 each across the board. I ended my meal with the chai cocktail which surprisingly did not taste like it was described, nonetheless it was still refreshing. For lunch I ordered the Crab Cake Benedict which came with house potatoes. The crab cakes were a bit too firm and not very fresh. The potatoes were the star of my plate!! so delicious and crispy. Bacon was standard and the biscuit was too firm and needed to be warmer when served. My meal overall was consistent and tasted good, portions were nice. The lunch menu needs a bit more variety in my opinion. I would love to come back and try the dinner menu the scallops sounded great but the don't serve it during lunch.

Yelp
I have been to Tinys cookies many times and finally got to come to the Boxwoods restaurant for a birthday! The interiors are super cute, it feels like being inside a Nancy Meyers movie. Service was very fast and the waitresses here were super sweet to accommodate our birthday requests. The food here is more like American Brunch. We got biscuits to share and I got the breakfast sandwich with potatoes. The croissant for the sandwich was very flaky but a bit oily and I wish the potatoes were warmer since they were already cold. The biscuits were really good though and the house jam was great. All in all a good breakfast spot for any weekend for a nicer event!

Yelp
Lovely brunch outing! Pastry Board - cinnamon roll, chocolate strawberry filled donut, lemon/cinnamon pastry Enchiladas - surprisingly the star of the show Pancakes - pineapple compote, and it tasted like vanilla bean in the batter! Lucky burger- cheese smash burger, to be expected

Yelp
Tiny Boxwoods is a cool little intimate spot to grab brunch or dinner. We had reservations for Sunday brunch. The interior and decor reminded me that of a house with modern decor. The tables felt very cramped for the four of us. We got the artisan biscuit board to share. The biscuits were very delicious, homemade, and big. It came with butter and a homemade jam that went great on the biscuits. For my main dish I got the steak and eggs. They have a small but delicious brunch menu. Put this on your list of places to get brunch in Austin.
google avatar

Eva B.

Yelp
The service started out great. We got the artisan biscuits, migas and steak. Then our food came out and mine had a hair and no silverware. The actual size of the plates (not the food) are incredibly too big for four a table of four. Overall it was a cute place to dine but didn't have the detail , well thought out space for anything bite than 3 stars. Parking is very limited- make a reservation for sure!

Yelp
A very nice restaurant to grab brunch on the weekend. Tiny Boxwood is tucked away from busy streets and freeway and you can enjoy the nice outdoor area during brunch! We ordered the pastry platter as an appetizer and that was the most amazing part of our meal! Everyone was baked fresh and wasn't overly sweet. As for the meal we ordered the burger and beet veggie burger. The burger was good the beet burger was okay both were nothing special though.

Yelp
Tiny Boxwoods is an adorable open air French bistro with stunning floor to ceiling windows and gorgeous vaulted ceilings. The space has a garden ambiance and is absolutely beautiful. This is the perfect place for celebrations and weekend brunch. The food was incredible and the wood fired artichokes are to die for. They have amazing cocktails and a delightful wine list. The service was exceptional and we had the sweetest waiter who was a doll. This was such a wonderful brunch experience and I can't wait to visit again!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is becoming our go to place for great food and good times. Last night we had the catch of the day over veggies and it was perfect. It's just a cool laid back Austin feel but with a finer dining experience. Also the wine list is well thought out. Everyone there is attentive, knowledgeable and welcoming. Enjoy!
google avatar

Katie W.

Yelp
Pro- Cute restaurant, great for pictures. Turkey avocado sandwiches was good. Great server, she was very nice! Neg- wood fired artichoke looked and taste like it was a jar artichoke that was heated up and drizzled with pesto and oil. Not good. I wish it was just fresh grilled artichoke. Cesar salad was okay. (No picture cause it didn't look good for me to take a picture) My friend got the smash avocado toast- she said it was good.
google avatar

Yelp
The place is a cute little house that was remodeled. I walked in and wasn't greeted by the hostess until I started talking to her about my party. The food is ok. I got the pizza because nothing on the menu really stood out to me. The drinks were great though. I would come just for the drinks.

Yelp
We went here with friends Thursday night for dinner. It was a first for me and my husband, and our friends recommended we start with the gathering board. This thing was fully loaded! There was a tasty mix of cheeses, meats, and dips. It also had the most incredible candied hazelnuts. A great start. For entrees, our table ordered the catch of the day special which was halibut, watercolor (seafood dish), black and blue (steak), and espresso-rubbed ribeye. Below is a brief summary of everyone's entree: -Halibut- cooked well, a little under-seasoned -Black & blue- ordered medium rare, cooked a little under. Mushroom risotto was very good. Watercolor- shrimp cooked perfectly, didn't need the crab. Coconut rice was good. Ribeye- ordered medium, cooked a little under I'd return here to try other things on the menu or just to get the gathering board again. The outside area was really cute and would also be a great spot for happy hour drinks and a few light apps. The decor was simple and farmhouse style and I appreciated that the music wasn't too loud. One note though is the tables are a little close together so expect an intimate feeling experience.

Se G.

Yelp
Ambiance is spot on. Perfect for an upscale lunch or ladies celebration. This could be a restaurant at a five star hotel or a favorite country club place to eat. Believe it or not even the burgers are fantastic. Lots of creativity in the menu. Could be intimidating for those who get intimidated by restaurants. In many ways the clientele and the staff seem to enjoy that feeling.

Yelp
Absolutely gorgeous restaurant in Austin I found on Resy. There is indoor and outdoor dining. The flowers on the tables are stunning. The service was so good. I had the French Toast and it was just beautiful! And it tasted even better. I can't wait to go back next time I'm in town!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow- the food was so fresh and delicious AND beautiful. What a great place, so pretty, lush, stylish & loungy!

Yelp
With Chris at the helm of the bar and James controlling the pizza oven - you're in for a treat! Chris will state he makes dreams come true in Cocktail form, don't underestimate that statement like I did. Tasty concoctions coupled with a great conversatiion! This place belongs in Connecticut, glad it's in Austin. Perfect brunch spot!

Yelp
This was our first time dining at Tiny Boxwoods. We had a 9am reservation for brunch on a Saturday, which I recommend as the restaurant does fill up. Parking is available for the restaurant and the adjacent shopping which was nice (not as bad as downtown Austin). The food was lovely - we got the pastry board to share for 4 people as an appetizer which was great. Since all of the food is prepared fresh it can take awhile for food to arrive - I recommend choosing an appetizer. The service was exceptional. Serge our waiter was very attentive throughout the meal, even replacing a glass of water that we got sauce on the side of without us having to ask. He made thoughtful recommendations on menu items and was super friendly. For me service can make or break an experience and Serge really nailed it. We will definitely be coming back! Bonus - sometimes they have a little farmer's market in the neighboring parking lot, which they did when we were there Saturday 3/30.

Yelp
Back for brunch with my wife. See my review from about a month ago because it's all still true. Sat outside this time, a bit windy, but they have comfy blankets that you can use. Great waiter, although I don't remember his name, he has waited on us before. The service is always very accommodating and genuinely friendly. We had the artichokes which is something we probably order almost every time we come here. Chicken enchiladas that we had last time we're so good ordered those again. The seasonal salad was great. I had the Chia pudding which was really well done, along with fresh fruit. Yum! The bread is always fresh and crunchy. This is just a special place that in my opinion is one of the best places in Austin, which keeps us coming back.

Yelp
What a hidden, yet bright, gem near the ascension seton hospital! We loved all the natural lighting. We came on a Tuesday evening without reservations and there was only open bar (or outdoor) seating available. Our waiter/bartender, Chris, was helpful in navigating through the menu and providing the perfect recommendations. Every ingredient tasted fresh and appeared carefully crafted. Portion sizes were generous. Not featured: delicious heated chocolate chip cookie for dessert. They do offer a military discount!

Yelp
My wife and I finally tried Tiny Boxwoods and we really enjoyed it! My service was fantastic and we were enjoyed the food! We got the Ceasar salad, the pancakes and the turkey sandwich. Everything was great except for the fries which were pretty soggy, but not such a big deal we'll definitely be back!
google avatar

Jon G.

Yelp
Solid burger great staff. Fries were good as well. Will come back and try the rest of the meny

Yelp
First time in Austin for work and was brought here for lunch. I'd be here all the time if I lived here! Great menu. Something for everyone. We were salad lunching ladies but I'd love to come back and share a bunch of things and go through their great cocktail and wine list. Beautiful and bright space and lovely staff!
google avatar

Yelp
Tiny Boxwoods is my favorite dinner restaurant in Austin! It is absolutely stunning; it's like a little piece of the Hamptons in Austin. They have the best vibe year-round. A fireplace and blankets in the winter and a beautiful outdoor patio for the summer. The food is unmatched. My favorite entre is their shrimp risotto. It's creamy, rich, and the shrimp tastes so fresh. At the end of your meal, you have to finish the night off with the chocolate chip cookies. Nonnegotiable.
google avatar

Ryan R.

Yelp
Cool vibe , kinda reminded me of Magnolia in Waco with all the similar looking white buildings and food, dessert and home decor shops in the area. The restaurant had a great biscuit platter with a very yummy butter spread to go with it. The breakfast sammie was awesome, good variety of things inside it. OJ was fresh-squeezed. Unlimited coffee refills. The avo toast looked a little $$ on the menu at $20+ but one of the tables next to us got it and it looked pretty good, not sure if it's worth that much but I'm sure it tastes decent. Cool place to check out for a bite and a dessert or ice cream nearby!
google avatar

Liane C.

Yelp
Love the ambiance of this place. Went for a girls brunch and we sat on the patio. Lots of fresh air and just great vibes on a fresh spring morning. Food is also good, I got the pancakes. I'd say they make really good fruity drinks here, especially the paloma fresca. Service is also amazing. We got seated quickly and servers were attentive.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Wonderful - Always. We have visited a few of their locations numerous times for various meals. Highly recommend! Some of our favorites include the ribeye, grilled artichoke hearts, cheese burger and so many others! Great service here and in Houston. Get a cocktail and enjoy yourself.
google avatar

Andrea R.

Yelp
This is a special place for us. Here is where we came at the beginning of our relationship, and it's when I tried the beet burger. I loved it so much, than on our wedding day. My hubby brought me this burger for before the wedding lol The service is always great. And the place looks super cute, all white inside. It just feels amazing
google avatar

Lauren G.

Yelp
I really enjoyed this place! The atmosphere is a 10/10. They have the cutest inside and patio. I definitely want to come back here to try brunch and bring my dog and sit outside. We had great service, at the end we ordered cookies to take home and our waitress gave us an extra one. However, the food was good. Wasn't bad, wasn't great. It was just good. I would definitely come back and try something else on the menu because I love their menu variety. Pros: service, atmosphere, menu variety Cons: little pricey for just okay food
google avatar

Issopale K.

Yelp
Rude and racist lady pastry Chef. The food is good however, Me and my husband refuse to support this place. The croissants are full of air unlike the Croissants in Alsace. Lorraine. Nice back area.

Jenifer L.

Yelp
The pastries at this place are amazing! Every single one I tried was perfect. I couldn't decide which one was my favorite.
google avatar

Sarah-Bradley D.

Yelp
Loved the ambiance and food here. Sitting outside in the courtyard was lovely and service was great. Our waiter allowed for us to sample wines prior to committing to a glass which was nice. Prices are higher but quality is excellent. We got the artichokes to start then split the broccolini, shrimp and risotto and daily catch for our entrees. All were super flavorful and fresh. Definitely recommend when in the Austin area.
google avatar

N S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, lots of natural light and happy, picture-snapping women, tasty + pricey cocktails, and decent food if you order the right thing. Overall I found the dishes on the plain side (and unfortunately 1/4 of my salad was wilted) but there are definitely a few standouts and the appetisers are visually stunning. Coffee/tea/pastries next door are also decent if fresh!

Ella J.

Yelp
Always the best food and ambiance. Service is great and always top notch! No matter what location!
google avatar

Genessa L.

Yelp
Gorgeous, casual-chique restaurant open for lunch and dinner. The service was wonderful- Chris was attentive and friendly. We ordered the Red Snapper with Delicata squash. It was flavorful and delicious. Cute for a date night or girl time!
google avatar

Marlene Z.

Yelp
Great service. Food was creative and delicious. It is on the pricy side, but the experience is worth it. Make sure you try their cookies. We had one of the best chocolate chip cookies. It was a bit loud, but after a while the crowd slowed down. The patio seems like a great hangout if it wasn't so hot. I also recommend trying the croissants. It's buttery perfection was amazing.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
This is an absolutely lovely place. The menu is simple and clean. Items are a bit overpriced and the drink selection is a bit weak. However, the Cheese and Meat board makes up for what falls short. The staff is always helpful and pleasant. This is a neighborhood go to type of place. This place would have gotten 5 stars had the drink selection been up to the quality you would expect from this price point.
google avatar

Bo B.

Yelp
Got the artichokes and the duck and pear pizza here. Both were really good. Service was great.
google avatar

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Walking into the restaurant, you notice the beautiful interior which is filled with natural lighting. I got the Salmon Provencal which was good, but I do feel like they could've given me a tad more for the price. Still tasty though! I want to try their other menu items next time I go. My friends ordered the pasta, burgers, and sandwiches and they let me try their food - everything was good! Go here for the cookies! They have a small section (Tinys Milk & Cookies) that sells baked goodies - don't miss out on buying their chocolate chip cookies. I'm not joking when I say these have been one of the best chocolate chip cookies I've ever had in my life. Seriously, it was to die for. I'd describe the cookies as soft, buttery, and fresh. Tastes like they just came out of the oven!
google avatar

Samantha B.

Yelp
Emma was super great and accommodating as our waitress. Loved everything but especially their pastries!

Berengere V.

Yelp
Beautiful decor, attention to details. It was busy. We waited a bit but great service. The food was super delicious, presentation on point. The portions are copious. Could not have been a better experience to celebrate mother/ day with my mom- she was visiting from dance and we celebrate on a different Sunday.

Yelp
This place is so beyond below average (that's me after getting all the expletives out before I started writing this) I don't even know where to begin. Ohh wait, I know, let's start with the $15 flute of a Mimosa made with flat Prosecco and way too much orange juice. Top this off by being served by a bartender who was freaking annoyed that we had the audacity to ask for a drink while we wait 35min. for a lunch table on a Tuesday at ~105F. I must have been magically transported to Saint-freaking-Tropez when I went through that door to justify those prices and level of pretense from staff and customers alike (minus the Saint-Tropez views and quality food). It doesn't take a genius to figure out the rest: - Mediocre, yet, over-priced food - Either overly or barely attentive, yet, entitled wait staff - Flies, so many flies There are sooooo many great and creative restaurants in Austin that actually put effort into preparing their food and drinks without charging an arm and a leg, and this is by far not one of them. The ambiance was OK with it's bright and open concept, but that's about it.
google avatar

Sabrina B.

Yelp
I actually have a hard time believe this place can have anything less than 4.5 stars because I had such a great time eating outside here... and I usually HATE eating outside. Maybe it's because the catch of the day was scallops over orzo and was cooked to perfection? Maybe it was that my waiter had great drink recommendations and was attentive and punctual? Or maybe it was the beautiful scenery, hedges, and powerful fans to make me not feel weird wearing a long sleeved bolero in the middle of May? I'm not sure, but I haven't had scallops that good since Seattle. It's a bit pricey here, but grabbing a pizza which is about half the cost of an entree is easily serviceable for 1-2 people. The cocktails are all a flat $15 which makes picking a drink so much more enjoyable, and of course the bakery... well.... Tiny's Milk and Cookies is the only place in Austin that I consider a better chocolate chip than Tiff's. And if you're thinking of getting a side salad, you'll be happy with how good the dressing is! Such a cute place to have a brunch, lunch, or dinner!

Yelp
We went for Brunch. The atmosphere and ambience of the restaurant are very nice. It was a beautiful day and people were sitting outside in the garden dining area. We sat inside and once again the ambience of the room was nice but very noisy as the restaurant was busy. Things went somewhat downhill from there. Many things on the already edited menu were not available because they are "seasonal" but apparently with no replacements for the current season - especially the dessert menu. Our server was very pleasant but the restaurant seemed " in the weeds" and the food was VERY slow, approximately 30 minutes or more. When the food did arrive there were further disappointments. We had asked for the bacon to be extra, extra crispy. A few pieces were but most were not which is weird that it was mixed. We sent them back and they were nice and crispy when they came back. The Wood Fired Artichokes were hard to eat. The leaves were separated and they were served in a bowl like a salad. The French Toast and Mama's breakfast were good. One of the highlights was the grits. Dessert time. We had ordered some chocolate chip cookies which are a signature item. They were nicely presented on a cutting board but were partially burned!! Our server agreed but didn't offer to replace them when I remarked that they were burned. The Chocolate cake was beautiful but the taste was only okay. I would give them another try. However, a restaurant with such a limited menu should excel in what the kitchen turns out. There needs to be more quality control and a higher level of customer service and oversight.

Yelp
Get a cookie on your way out. This dinner was much needed after a few rougher meals (I was visiting a friend at UT). Just come here. Make a reservation. I dare you. Such charm. They serve soda in vintage-y bottles that you can pour into a glass. Not necessarily a place for kids; definitely a formal restaurant.
google avatar

Crystal Y.

Yelp
Love this place so much! Super cute and while it can feel like you have to wait forever, there are shops next door to help you kill the time. Good = absolutely worth it. Cookies are HUGE!

Walker A.

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant in Austin. What I love about Tinys is that anything I order on the menu is going to be great. No filler foods. Staff is trained well- loved little class from Houston. Austin needs more restaurants from Houston. I won't go into it, but a lot of Austin restaurants have a certain attitude about their guests-- not Tiny's. It's always a fantastic and wonderful experience. Price: below average cost compared to most restaurants in Austin. Big bang for your buck!

Yelp
I came here for a baby shower. It's such a cute little space. The food was amazing. My favorite type of bacon, thick and crunchy. The service for the party was good. It's what you would expect for a private event!

Yelp
Friendly staff, tasty food and a gorgeous location! The overall vibe is so calming and relaxing which is lovely when you are looking for a low key night out. Not too many options for gluten/dairy free options but there were still some modifications that could be made. Bonus points for the cute little bakery though (also not totally allergen friendly but I've heard great things)!
