"Austin’s really fun Asian cocktail pop-up Daijoubu comes back to Austin with a Lunar New Year event later this month. The Year of the Blue Dragon dinner is a collaboration between Daijoubu’s Sharon Yeung and Caer Maiko and chef Jo Chan of French restaurant Bureau de Poste. There will be a four-course meal with dishes like roasted duck, dumplings with shrimp and scallops, noodles, and desserts, paired alongside scotch cocktails made with Johnnie Walker. It takes place at the Hyde Park restaurant on 4300 Speedway on Sunday, February 18 with seatings at 5:30 and 8 p.m. Tickets are $200." - Nadia Chaudhury

"A small French bistro housed in a remodeled neighborhood post office in Hyde Park, beloved for its pommes dauphine topped with trout roe and crème fraîche, a charming patio, and a menu and atmosphere suited to lunch or dinner; it also pairs a strong pastry and cocktail sensibility with quality charcuterie." - Erin Russell
‘Top Chef’ Jo Chan Opens French Restaurant Bureau de Poste in Austin | Eater Austin
"Alongside Bureau de Poste, Tiny Grocer is opening a northern Hyde Park location at 4300 Speedway offering food products, fresh produce, wines and beers, cookware (including Austin-based Made In), flowers, cleaning products, and more. Daytime offerings include coffee and pastries from Austin bakeries Swedish Hill and gluten-free spot Gati, plus a deli menu of sandwiches and salads similar to the South Congress location. Steph Steele opened the South Congress market in 2021 and teamed up with Chan for this expansion, and I note Bureau de Poste will source most of its ingredients from the market next door. Tiny Grocer’s Hyde Park hours will be 8 a.m.–10 p.m. daily." - Nadia Chaudhury

"A neighborhood market that launched an original South Congress location in 2021 under owner Steph Steele, the Hyde Park outpost will feature retail products from local businesses, a deli with sandwiches and prepared foods, coffee, wine, and other grocery items. An expansion announced last summer adds a French restaurant component led by chef Jo Chan while maintaining the market’s community-focused offerings at the Hyde Park site." - Nadia Chaudhury
I really and truly wanted to leave a positive review but my experience has truly not worthy of more than 2 stars. I went in for a sandwich and purchased the ham and butter baguette and I didn’t notice until about halfway through my sandwich that the meat inside was totally grey with no pink showing. I was immediately off put and I took the ham out and smelled it on its own without the butter and the smell was foul. I realized quickly that this sandwich had long past its expiration. One day after, I have been sick all day with nausea and stomach related issues etc. I did have a positive interaction with the salesman and he was so kind, which is why I didn’t give it 1 star. This experience has really been u enjoyable however and I can say I never wish to see and or smell grey ham again!! Yikes!

The staff is always friendly and eager to help, making my shopping experience even more enjoyable. I genuinely feel valued as a customer, and that’s something you don’t find everywhere! It's no wonder this little gem is always my first stop. If you're looking for the best deals in town paired with a welcoming vibe, Tiny Grocers is the place to be!

I really wanted to like this place, and I mean REALLY wanted to like it but I was so disappointed in the quality. The matcha was very expensive and not even ceremonial grade and put way too much milk. The sandwich I got was also not great, especially for the price… the grocery side was very cute tho! I will definitely be coming back to get fun and niche gifts for people!

Tiny Grocer is truly a gem in my neighborhood. The store is immaculately organized, making it easy to find everything I need, from pantry staples to fresh and delicious fruits that are always reasonably priced. There is cafe and little bar too. It’s the perfect spot for casual meetings or productive work sessions, allowing me to grab a coffee or a snack while getting things done. Great experience !!

I love the staff and the selection available. The price point is a little higher than I prefer but it makes sense for the product they carry and the neighborhood they serve. Huge gluten free/ paleo / keto selection - esp given their size.
There is a wonderful little deli for breakfast/ lunch items. I had the trout salad which was tasty and pretty. Great little bougie neighborhood nook.

I have been to tiny grocer a few times as I live in the area. I usually only buy a soda because most of the other items are out of my tax bracket. But, today, I made the best purchase of my life when I, on a whim, bought tiny grocer’s fresh baked chocolate chip cookie. Holy cow I have never had anything so delicious. Literally the best cookie I’ve ever had EVER. Tiny grocer please never change your cookies. The flakes of salt. The globs of chocolate and the PERFECT cookie. I’ll be back soon…

Walked in curious about the coffee selection. Having never delved into the world of expresso (wow!) I at first didn’t know what to order until the kind barista Amelie helped me to understand where to start. I ended up enjoying a delicious cappuccino. Excellent! I will definitely be back.

Yelp
Very cute place to work from home or study or grab lunch or brunch. The groceries themselves are a little pricey, but well curated so it's worth it. They have a wonderful selection of wine as well! Can't wait to live walking distance from her in a few weeks!! I'll for sure be a regular

Yelp
They have deli counter service during the weekday lunch. The French dip with au jus was yummy with a very deep and rich dipping sauce. It's counter service so you will have to pick up your dish to the side of the counter.
Drinks have to be ordered separately at the cafe bar. Get their frozen rose if it's a nice day.
As always I like the selection of curated items in the grocery section.
Point off because the point of sale system has gratuity on by default ... I can understand this for the deli and the cafe but not the grocery store. It is just annoying that they ask for tip for groceries especially since it's an upmarket place. It is configurable so I'm up in arms why most stores don't configure the gratuity option out or set them to reasonable amounts like 5% or less for minimal services.

Yelp
$6 for a tiny empanada!?!? I guess that is why the name tiny grocer, but be sure to bring mucho dinero. I like what they did with the old post office, but this store is for the local Hyde park residents who have money to burn. Nice interior but their AC was on the fritz only a year after opening. I asked if they had half and half. They said yes, but when I checked they had every alternate dairy version but no real half and half. The empanadas were horrible. I've had better from a High School cafeteria. The beef did not taste like beef. Tasted funny. Was probably the vegan beef. If so, say that. Took two bites and tossed it to the dogs. They sniffed it and didn't want to have any part of it. There were so many vegan products in there it smelled like a beverly hills spa. No reason for me to go back here, considering all the alternatives in the area, that have equivalent or better products at much lower price.

Yelp
Such a beautiful space, felt like I was in New York! Service was just as great as the food. Great spot to grab something to eat or get a nice cup of tea!

Yelp
So cute!!!! What a fun addition to the neighborhood and great use of the old post office. This space shares a building (other side) with First Light, and the deli/kitchen inside turns into Bureau d'Poste at night. I came in the morning and it was a perfect place to work. Lots of fun pastries and breakfast options, or you could grab n go something from the bodega section. The espresso service was fabulous, and I really enjoyed working from there. Can't wait to go back and peruse the aisles next time.

Yelp
Boy oh boy, wow oh wow! (Yes, I'm gushing!). This place is a foodie's dream come true! Be prepared, you're going to spend some time here. The offerings are far too numerous to list, and run from amazing prepared goodies to fabulous condiments, shrubs, seasonings, sauces, etc. all arranged in a beautiful setting with the friendliest folks helping you! I'm so thrilled to have this wonderful spot in the 'hood.
