Found this little place as was walking around downtown San Francisco and decided to try it out. I ordered a chicken soft taco with whole beans & pico de gallo. One taco cost around $7 bucks & was good enough for me portion wise. The chips come free with the food. The only complaint I have is that my soft taco got really soggy from the beans & pico de gallo. I should have asked these two on the side. The taco was simple & tasty. The chips & salsas were amazing. The extra hot is truly extra hot so choose wisely! There is outdoor seating & being Thursday, live music entertaining lunch goers.

Si el sabot super excellent! Succulent chicken salad but the tasty spot in my mouth first and onto a healthy diet. Good outdoor alley sunny experience ! Chicken Lemon Salad to die for.

I stopped by Tlaloc around 11am on a Wednesday. It took about 7 minutes to receive my order for take out. I ordered the carne asada street tacos, which comes in a set of 4 tacos with a side of chips for $15.99. I enjoyed munching on 2 tacos outside on their lovely seating space. I think it would have been better had the chips and tacos came with a side of salsa or guacamole.

Used to be good. Last couple times have been somewhat disappointing. Then today I ordered nachos. It’s in 1/2 size container. I said it’s half the size. He said it was the same size. No way. It’s literally half the size for $24 for a tiny container of nachos and agua Fresca. And they only had 3 salsas out. Things literally half the size of the container. And they gaslight me and say it’s the same. It most certainly is not I’m not blind.

My job order a to-go order for a group of 8 think via door dash. The service was speedy considering the city travel times. a co-worker and I meet in passing during our small chat we both agreed the food was really good. I got a carne asada quesadilla extra avocado no pico. 👨‍🍳💋 I’d order again anytime.

Super quick Mexican spot in the Commercial Street alley. Upstairs and Outside seating. Counter service with Food Runners. Fairly good pricing. We loved their Salsa Bar! But the menu says 3 Enchiladas and they only served 2. That's a bit confusing. Nonetheless, we will return!

Tlaloc came in clutch yesterday afternoon! Our office had a snafu with our catering order so we needed lunch and fast since it was well after our original lunch time. I called Tlaloc and they pulled through at the last minute. They were able to cook up a full taco bar in 30 minutes with chips and salsa included too. I couldn't be more thankful for them, they were so reassuring to me on the phone and provided the best of customer service when I arrived to pick up. I'll definitely be ordering from here in the future :)

Vegan Unfriendly Been here many times before and will never go back. I ordered vegan al pastor from the menu and instead I was served pig swine al pastor. Took a few bites and have now lost all trust with Tlaloc after I almost threw up on my desk. If you go, best to ask for a receipt and confirm your order was correctly input. My recommendation would be to steer clear.

Love their moles and the ingredients are so fresh! Sad that I can no longer get their breakfast burritos! Those were the right way to start the day! Incredible salsa bae.

Got food poisoning from this place and the food wasn't even good. Not worth it at all

Their tacos are decent but I would not recommend paying $20 for a burrito. Mine was soggy today and feel 25% smaller than a typical super burrito I would get anywhere else. Other than that, the staff were friendly and quick turnaround time.

Found a place near my work that offers delicious crispy tacos. These are not your average Taco Bell crispy tacos. These are type of tacos where the tortilla is fried ever so slightly and topped with your favorites. My first visit was disappointing where for some reason they gave me street tacos, but it was too late when I caught the mistake since I was already at work ready to indulge into my lunch. Maybe they couldn't understand what I was saying through my mask. So I had to give this place another go. Not disappointed this time around as I got what I came for and it was delish. Maybe a little on the greasy side but still good. I think if it were topped with some kind of baja or cilantro crema it would knock this dish out of the park. I like that you still get chips and salsa with your order unlike many taquerias these days.

OMG this is literally the best burrito spot in SF. I've tried the big names like Cancun and farolito but none of them compare to Tlaloc. I mean, to start, Tlaloc has a salsa bar so that already puts them over the edge. But on top of that, I can taste the quality difference in ingredients. Everything tastes fresh and their meat doesn't have that slightly rancid taste that you get in old meat. The meat is also well seasoned and so juicy. Service is super quick and the staff is so friendly! Definitely check this place out and you won't be disappointed that you betrayed your other burrito joints.

Pretty good Mexican food!! Everything tasted fresh. I ordered the burrito bowl and it was pricey for what it came with but the flavor did not disappoint! Salsas were good as well! Not a lot of seating for larger groups though

The Carne Asada Super Burrito was a bit disappointing. The carne asada was really dry and didn't seem freshly made (it didn't even taste like steak). The burrito was bland until I poured their delicious salsa from the salsa bar on it. Loved the salsas. There are much better burritos in SF. Even considering SF inflation, $20 (including tax) is steep for a disappointing burrito with subpar ingredients. The service was very friendly and warm.

So excited to have discovered this place near my office. The food is great and really fresh (a little pricey but given the area it's understandable) and I love the outdoor area in the alleyway outside. My new favorite lunch spot!

I'm guilty, I used to avoid Mexican food if I wasn't in the Mission. But now with the pandemic, taking enclosed BART to another neighborhood is not high on my priority list. Hence, I finally tried this local joint in the FiDi. It's actually pretty good, albeit priced at the FiDi premium, but a much better option than Chipotle! Carne Asada Crispy Taco: Definitely the stand out item of what I ordered. The regular corn tortilla is fried up into a boat shape. Probably recently, maybe even to order, because it still had some supple parts to it. Great texture. And filled with tons of tender and well seasoned carne asada cubes and lots of melted cheese. I could have easily eaten a whole plate of these. Mole Soft Taco: Had mixed feelings about this. The mole sauce was super flavorful and queso fresco was a great pairing. The chicken cubes were tender. But they tasted like they were quickly tossed in the mole to order rather than stewing in it for a long time, since the flavor didn't penetrate deep inside. Then there was the rice, which was a really weird choice for a taco. It wasn't particularly interesting and felt like filler. Might have been better with just the meat, sauce and cheese alone. Carnitas Super Burrito: Extremely filling! Despite so much going on inside the burrito, the carnitas still stood out. They were stringy and tender and a little crispy, just how carnitas should be. Also, brimming with succulent flavor. The rest of the stuff like rice, beans, sour cream, cream and guacamole were all in the right proportion making it such a pleasant experience; way better than Chipotle!

The best tacos in the financial district. Whenever I go back to San Francisco, I try to hit this place up.

Wow, I've heard such good things about this place but it just did not compare to my experience there past week. I came here for a mid-day work lunch, right before lunch hour (~11:30am). I was dying for a good quesadilla so I ordered the carne asada super quesadilla with all the fixings and nothing else. My tab came out to around $15 all in for a quesadilla (before tip)! They handed me two cups for salsa which was nice and they had a wide selection of fresh salsas. I just wish the food was up to par with the salsa bar. My quesadilla was lukewarm, soggy, greasy, and the worst part was that it wasn't even folded!! I had to roll everything up like a taquito. It was a mess. Definitely have had better in the Mission for a lot less $$$. Mabye they were just having a bad day, but I'm reluctant to try again. Most likely not returning and will take my wallet to Chipotle.

Just had a very good lunch at Tlaloc Sabor Mexicano. Was walking around near my hotel as we accidentally stumbled on this place. It has a cute taco/burrito shop feel with lots of menu choices. Folks working here are friendly, went out of their way to set up a table and chairs outside as we had our dog Carlton with us. I was in a taco salad mood so opted for the Ensalada con Pollo. A nice sized taco salad shell came out with fresh grilled chicken amongst other ingredients. Price was $15.55 and it really should have been priced at $12.95-13.95. It was quite good, an item I shall order again. My watermelon Agua Fresca was fantastic. In fact I'm drinking the rest of it now with vodka. Delicious. Bottom line is I got good fast food priced a tad too high.

After seeing the prices here (Mexican food shouldn't be so expensive), I opted to order a crispy taco. Carne Asada Crispy taco: 4 stars The carne asada crisoy taco was good. I was quite impressed. The taco was perfectly fried, and the carne asada was well seasoned. Authentic crema, guacamole, cebollas, cilantro, and Pico de Gallo atop carne asada stops make for a great taco. The taco is a decent size, but I'm not sure it warrants a $6.95 price tag. However, I will give credit where credit is due. If you're in the area and want an authentic taco, head here (unless there is another authentic taco place in the area that is better and/or cheaper). Tortilla chips and salsa bar: 5 stars Warm, crispy, slightly salty tortilla chips and an impressive selection of salsas and lime wedges. Good job on the taco bar. The place was clean, the staff was nice enough (we arrived at 2:40, they close at 3p) I got the feeling we were 'imposing on them' for coming in so close to closing time, despite the fact that 3 other people came in after us. Either you close at 3pm or you don't. That's all I'm gonna say about that. Watermelon agua Fresca: 5 stars! I mixed the remainder of my agua Fresca with vodka when I got back to the hotel room! Would I come here again? Probably not. However, for locals that work in the area, give it a shot and spent $7 on a single taco. You might like it.

Hands down, my favorite tacos and burritos. Salsa and guac made fresh. Please never close down! I wish they were Open for dinner too.

This place is crowded and quite popular during lunch hour but the service is really fast and there are plenty of tables upstairs and outside. If you have a large group then this is a good place to go to. This is my second time coming here and looks like they changed their menu since the last time I was here. I got the paleo plate with grilled fish last time and I got the same thing but in a bowl this time. I am certain that they are the same thing with the same ingredients but only the plating is different. With the paleo bowl, There are 3 pieces of grilled fish, lettuce, grilled veggies and a side of chips. Looking at the photos, I think there's more lettuce and grilled veggies with the bowl than with the plate. The lettuce tasted fresh and the grilled veggies are well seasoned. I love that the fish is cooked perfectly with a nice char on both sides. This is definitely a delicious and healthy lunch to have and if you are not much of a big eater like me, you can probably split this into two meals since the portion is really big! I also tried the horchata and it's on the sweeter side. I am not sure how authentic this drink is here comparing to the other ones but this one has a good balance of cinnamon. Since it was a lot sweeter in my preference, I just diluted it with ice water which then tasted much better and made the drink bigger, yay! I like that this place has an open kitchen so you can see how the food is made. I also love that they offer 5 different types of salsa on the side. This place could get really loud during lunch hour so probably not the best place to go to if you want to have a good chat. And since I am not too familiar with Mexican cuisine, it would be nice if they show some images of the food on the menu.

Tlaloc it like it's hot! So excited to see they have reopened. Best Mexican in the Fidi! Currently open from 10am-2pm M-F. Spread the word peeps!

These tacos were very good! Service was good could have ben a little faster but very nice people! Pretty authentic tasting as well! Would def go to again! Would not siggest for a bigger party tho not much room seems like

Getting the tacos next time and skipping the burrito. Great location and the interior has that homey feel, but the burrito I tried was so bland. I got it to go and they give 2 small thingys for you to choose the salsas, and the salsas tasted so much better than the burrito. I got the super veggie burrito, and it just all tasted like rice. The coloring inside looked very muted too. What happened? Where are all the veggies and such? My coworker got some tacos and those looked vibrant, full of flavor, but were pricey as well. The burrito was expensive for what it is, which was very disappointing. I do give them props for their salsa though. I should have asked for more lil cups for the salsas as those had so much flavor!

Well now don't I feel stupid? This place is literally 500 feet from my office, I have been to the place next door, yet somehow have missed this little gem. For about $6.50 you get one HUGE (crispy or soft) taco, I chose pork as my meat. Plus a mound of fresh fried tortilla chips with the perfect crispy salty goodness. The tortilla was fried to order, and maybe next time I will get soft. It was authentic (but somehow farm fresh tasting & upscale) Mexican goodness. On any of the many beautiful SF days there are lots of seats in the alley. I think there is usually a line - but somehow we missed it, we came about 11:45am. There is a really nice little salsa bar - right now they have a spicy pumpkin salsa that is crave-worthy. I will definitely be back - I need to "forget" my lunch form home a little more often.

Wow this place is a hidden gem. My bestie took me here and I never realized first you have to get there ahead of the traffic line during lunch and also gotta order their steak salad. Their veggies are fresh and super delicious. Chips are fresh, drinks are tasty, and their chilli is that die for. I recommend going earlier and I wanna try it for dinner.

Excellent burrito: good ingredients, good flavors, good wrapping, good chips. There is an open salsa bar, avoid the hot one unless you really mean it. Don't be intimidated by the line. It moves quickly. If you choose to eat on-premise, there are extra seats upstair and the staff will find you quite quickly.

Best Mexican food in the Financial District. They focus on local organic ingredients and are definitely positioning themselves as high end. At $5-7/taco, I was skeptical I could be filled or impressed but I was pleasantly surprised. The tacos are fairly big in terms of filling and flavor. The shrimp taco was the standout but the carnitas was also good. I was impressed they separated out the vegetarian taco without asking -- it tasted okay, nothing special but if you're looking for healthier options, it was fine. Orders come with chips and there's a self service salsa bar with some great options.

Good food quality, but now that the burritos cost more than $20, and then have the audacity to charge you .75 for more than one salsa, I guess I will be going to Chipotle

The food is good and their array of salsas are dope. Kind of pricey for a taqueria but it's in the middle of FiDi in SF, so they can price it up. The line is always long so come early or have a late lunch. You order first then the food is taken to you if you eat there. They have some tables inside up the stairs or outdoor seating that is usually packed. The reason for only 3 stars? The first cashier is a puta. Like straight up. She was the least friendly. Whatever though, went to the next register who was nicer.

I'm fascinated by restaurants in San Francisco that actually have a ton of seating. Whoever purchased the building for Tlaloc was smart to build up, not out. Well, they also built out since there's lots of outdoor seating in the alley it's located in. Came here for lunch with a friend and arrived around 11:30 AM before the big rush. I ordered a carnitas quesadilla, which was delivered to our table upstairs. The salsa was fresh and tasty. Lots of variety for different taste buds. Whatever they used for the tortilla was the best part. Super soft, crispy, and surprisingly flavorful. There was a good amount of carnitas as well. Very filling. We came here because my friend is a vegetarian, and I love how the menu is divided accordingly. I'm a huge fan and would come back here again. Other Yelp reviews mention the long wait. I don't like to wait a long time for ANY lunch place in FiDi on the weekdays, so I would just say to plan ahead and get here early.

Hidden in alley with outdoor seating and large indoor seating as well. Looks like it is very popular in the area based on the lines. On the plus side, they are fast and all the ingredients are organic. I got the chicken burrito and was underwhelmed, the chicken was chewy. Given the crowds and organic messaging, was expecting more for a $15 burrito.

This is going to be short. The place gets very busy during lunch and it's not worth the wait. The burritos are extremely average, the meat doesn't have a lot of flavor and the size are not impressive for the price they charge. Probably will come back for early lunch, but definitely not wait in line for this.

It's hidden away in an ally way, like a secret underground taqueria that everyone knows ABOUT! The lines are usually out the doorway. There's a reason for that, the food is so good! I especially in e the salsa bar section where you can taste different salsas from mild to uber tuber SPICY! Don't forget the watermelon drink, they are refreshing. Great lunch spot!

Good and flavorful food...a bit on expensive end. We got baja fish taco, chicken mole, and fish quesadilla. Everything was flavorful. Cool seating on the street...they had a salsa bar with lots of options of salsa. Every dish comes with chips, which were thin and had a nice crunch.service was fast...would recommend this place...

I came here for the first time and it was delicious! I ordered a crispy carnitas taco and it was really good. I usually order 2-3 tacos, but given the price for 1, I only got one and it was pretty filling. You also get complimentary chips with a a plethora of salsa to choose from. I would love to come back again.

This review is strictly for the fish burrito and i was not happy with it. It was super dry! Fish was good but the whole thing was just dry! I think inside was rice, beans, fish, sprinkles of cheese. The best bites were the ones w cheese- where were far between. Can you just imagine how flakey that would be without any guac or sour cream? My bf loves Tlaloc, comes here often for work and said my burrito was weird. He'll probably want to come back but I wouldn't.

Breakfast review: I've been here for lunch many times but this was the first time I came here for breakfast. The menu is typical breakfast burrito fare but slightly elevated. I got the burrito de papas. It was the right amount of food and very flavorful. Most importantly it was at a reasonable price point. My colleague got the chilaquiles burrito which she enjoyed and said it was the right amount of mild for her taste. The salsa bar is available at breakfast and elevates the burrito as do the chips that come with the food.

They are back! Chicken burrito is still as amazing as ever. However, their prices are WAY up now. A single chicken burrito with guacamole and sour cream (take-out) is now $23 (tax included, at least) and chips and salsa are not included. That's right...2 containers of salsa plus a handful of chips were free 2 years ago, but no longer. OUCH. I used to go once a week, but will have to scale back to once a month.

I came here back in April, I met up with a friend for lunch. I thought this restaurant had Taco Tuesdays, but they did not. I was disappointed because I thought I saw on Yelp they had Taco Tuesday's, or perhaps I saw it on their webpage. The lady that took our order was kind enough to give us a deal on 4 soft tacos which was a little bit pricey costing $20, since they were pretty small. We picked different chicken for our tacos but I couldn't really tell the difference. We paid up front and decided to go sit upstairs on the second level. Our food was delivered quickly, which was good since my friend had only a small break from work. The corn tortillas were really good and not too greasy. The chicken was tender, tasty and all the toppings were fresh. Tlaloc Sabor Mexicano Resturant's interior design and layout is very unique and decorative. They have 4 levels and at each level they have a salsa bar with several different types of salsas. With bright colorful walls, quotes on the walls, the atmosphere of this restaurant has a positive vibe. So sit back, relax, and enjoy the company of a friend for breakfast or lunch. Or get take out if you work in the Financial District. Overall, my experience here is about a 4. I had some disappointments as I mentioned, but the quality of the food was indeed good. The food is organic, fresh, and tasty.

Delicious, fresh, Mexican food. I recently went here for lunch with a friend. There was a seemingly long line out the door. We braved the line, it moved along. That said: Don't let the line scare you. There is also plenty of seating upstairs. OK, let's get to the food and drink. There were 5 (!) aguas frescas (a cucumber lemonade, water melon, strawberry, hibiscus, and horchata) available to drink. The food options were plentiful. I tried the mole burrito, and it was delicious. I look forward to trying this place again in the future. Their bowls looked ideal.

I do not know how to say this place. The people who work there are always so frantically helping everyone I've never stopped someone to ask. Usually has a line out the door but it moves quickly. They've got orange metal seafaring our in the alley too. The menu can be peruses as you wait your turn. The open kitchen has a bunch of sweaty people working hard to keep up with the influx of orders. All handmade! You order a register, pat and take a number. They give you a glass for drinks and cups for salsas. They have a nice salsa bar where you can choose many accompaniments. They have three levels of seats available and the second level has another salsa bar. They find you give you your enormous amount of food and take your number. Lots of colors and words on the walls add to the authenticity. It's pretty good food and I've been there a handful of times. Highly recommended.

They can't seem to get a single order correct for me. First time, order was completely off. The second time, I ordered a burrito to be safe, and it's wrong. Seriously frustrating and probably the last time I go there. Recommendation: don't go unless you don't care what order you're getting.

Fidi eye candy. Are you in heat? (from their hot red salsa, maybe?) Kidding! #notreally This place is humongous. Three floors of noisy conversation between stocks guy on his iphone6, to the handsome boys on table 42, to the two cute girls digging into their taco bowls. Like I said, Fidi eye candy. Once you're done drooling after the buffet, I mean, SALSA BAR, sit down and take a sip of your watermelon agua fresca. Smack your lips and proclaim, "so deliciously refreshing!" Chow down on your taco bowl chock full of lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, black beans, cucumber and prawns! It took awhile to finish this large enselada because I took my time eyeing the buffet, I mean, going back and forth the salsa bar! (ay carumba!) Either that salsa bar is really, really great or I just need more saborrr in my life.

Had I come here at any time other than the lunch hour, I think I could have appreciated the food a lot more. Just so you know, it's a complete zoo around noontime as puppyish office workers come here in droves. I was about to turn around in a Fuzio-fused fit when I saw how crowded the patio seating was. But dammit, I deserve a taco as much as the entitled millennials who appeared to hold court with their boastful tones overwhelming even the traffic noise on Battery (photo: http://bit.ly/15QCs4Q). I had never been to Tlaloc before, so I'm sure I was frustrating the impatient twenty-somethings heavily sighing behind me as I was trying to decide what to get. I ended up ordering a pair of tacos, Prawn and Fish, for $5.95 each (photo: http://bit.ly/1eDqIrb), and getting an empty cup to fill with soda. Maneuvering to the soft drink fountain around the protean Gen Y crowd with their eyes and thumbs glued to their smartphones was, trust me, no small feat. Then I needed to find a vacant table, and out under the unseasonably warm Indian summer sun was a rusted red table where I parked my number stand and sat patiently as suits and hipsters gave me small-mouth hoping I'd up and leave (photo: http://bit.ly/19zop11). My tacos came soft and fairly lukewarm, but on the upside, they were freshly made and tasted pretty good. They just seem rather paltry in size for the hefty price tag. But the FiDi has a luxuriant cost-of-working index, and this one is definitely marked above index...but enough with the shop talk. Perhaps I'll come back sometime before the crowds gather. FOOD - 3 stars...good soft tacos but not outstanding enough for the exorbitant price AMBIANCE - 3 stars...did I mention it was a zoo at lunchtime? SERVICE - 3.5 stars...staff was nice, can't say as much for the entitled clientele TOTAL - 3 stars...looks like I'll be saving all my love for the Mission

A hidden gem indeed! Tlaloc is a place where you would have never expect to have found in the Financial District. Here, the walls are painted with symmetrical designs contain exposed brick that makes you feel at ease. The atmosphere is bombarded with activity from the other Financial District workers. It is funny to see people wearing suits in such a fun joint. I also enjoy how they use the large warehouse wisely by not crowding each floor with chairs and tables. The three floors contain just the right amount of seating to hold big and small parties. It also has large windows that a lot of natural light to come in even if you're sitting in the corner furthest away from them. I was very happy! The service was really nice and quick as well! I had a regular steak burrito that came with a side of crispy chips. The chips were salted perfectly which I enjoyed. They also give you little containers to hold their large selection of salsa. I really enjoyed their mild avocado, mild mango and their mild garlic salsa! All were a very delicious addition to my burrito. As for my burrito, I feel like it's a little overpriced for what it was. I felt that the salsa sogged up the burrito really quickly but I was happy that we ate in house with a fork and a knife. The pinto beans and salsa were amazing and the steak was pretty juicy. I feel like this is a nice escape from a bumbling place like the Financial District. I enjoy the festive atmosphere and their food is pretty amazing as well!

I feel extraordinarily guilty, and unfortunately church isn't open for me to confess. I feel guilty because my co-worker Catherine bought be lunch at this exorbitant Mexican restaurant. I feel bad that it cost her $11 for a burrito when what she really wanted was enchiladas, which they didn't have. I feel bad because it was another almost $4 for the horchata for me, and $3 for a coke for her. I feel bad because even though everything is organic and they sing songs to their cows to make them happy before the slaughter, I really didn't enjoy the small burrito much. Mainly because it lacked flavor, needed more guacamole or sour cream or something. I feel bad because I didn't like their salsa bar either, which went from completely mild to fire engine hot. But, since Catherine thought this place was okay, I guess it was okay. I won't be coming back though. $30 for 2 burritos and 2 drinks, you have to be kidding me. And Catherine...lunch is on me next time. You choose!

My top 1 Mexican restaurant in the city. I used to work in the area and went go this place with coworkers constantly. No matter what I order I was never disappointed except burritos can get really fat. My favorite part about here is they have so many type of salsas! Salsa is my favorite thing in Mexican food. And they label them with different spicy levels which is really helpful cuz there are two types of salsas that are really spicy to the level that I couldn't stop drinking stuff to stop the burn in my mouth. I remember the cucumber salsa being really spicy even though it doesn't look like it is. The restaurant also has a lot of seats although during lunch hour it's still packed.

This is the best lunch spot for authentic Mexican food that is healthy! Only open from 7am to 3 pm and one of my favorites. This is not an everyday thing but definitely when I want to treat myself to an amazing lunch. I love that this is farm to table and everything is grown fresh and organic from their farm in Sonoma. Their salsa bar is on point with so many varieties and my go-to salsa is the pumpkin seed salsa. It's so ah-mazing! Must Try: Quesadilla - pretty much the best quesadilla I've ever had. Fully loaded with meat, cheese, and guac. More meat than cheese. Carnitas - some of the best Vegetarian options galore.

Pretty good mexican food. I ordered the beef torta and it was very good. Great Acme breach, the beef was reasonably tender and flavorful, and the toppings were good. This is a busy place at lunch and the dude behind the cash register was efficient. Next time I will likely try something different to see how good the other things are.
