The 34 Best Athens Restaurants | Eater

"Whether you’re an early riser or coming off a night of partying, stop by this 24/7 bakery in Psyrri, the city’s hippest neighborhood. The place is mostly known for its koulouri, thin, ropy breads similar to Jerusalem bagels or Turkish simit, which come topped simply with traditional sesame seeds, or decorated with sunflower seeds, dried grapes, or melted cheese. The bakery also serves a thicker variety of bagel stuffed as sandwiches, along with other baked goods. [$]" - Demetrios Ioannou

The best local cafe we went to. Love the cheese pretzels, the sesame bread (though we wished it was more toasty), and the desserts they have to offer. They also make really really good coffee (western coffee, Greek coffee...) for an affordable price. The staff was also friendly, hospitable and made us feel home with the little conversations we had. We went back twice during three-day trip in Athens!

Fantastic, consistent and unpretentious bakery for lovers of bread and baked goods. I’ve eaten a lot of koulouri in my time and theirs was among the most delicious. The quality of the pastry was also exceptional - particularly the homemade pastry in their spanakopita.

As someone very particular about their coffee, we stayed nearby and we really loved their ice coffees!! and the man working there was so so nice and friendly, it was a cherry on top of our experience staying in Athens. We got coffee every morning here on our way out. If we ever came back to the neighbourhood, would definitely visit again 😋

Utterly fantastic, the spinach and feta pie is delightful, and very very big I feel like the prices for the centre of a city are very reasonable, bordering on cheap. I had the sesame bagel bread as well for €0.70 and it was one of the best I’ve had. Staff are amazingly friendly and it’s nice to sit on the chairs and watch the pigeons with a coffee. Order the strong Greek coffee, it could wake the dead

Just had two amazing pastries here! Great coffee, reasonable prices and lovely service from the woman behind the counter.

Authentic Greek pastries. Coffee and Espresso paradise for the purists. Close to center of town, mostly locals when we were there. Reasonably priced compared to other places in the center. If you can get over the old world look it is a good place to sit and people watch sipping fresh coffee

This place serves Greek pastries like koulori for a great price and the best part is they are open 24 hours. The workers are very kind and answered my questions about the pastries they sold, and even informed me some of the things they had were traditionally eaten at Christmas.

The best portokalopita I had, that almost brought me to tears, that’s how good it was. Really nice guy that was attending the customers and really quick service.
