The Basic’s Guide To Enjoying West 3rd Street - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"Runyon was completely jammed this morning but you still got in your steps and an Instagram with Amanda Seyfried jogging in the background and you’re feeling alive again. Hello Sunday, it’s time for Toast. This see and be seen cafe has a rabid weekend crowd full of people who are there because their friends are but thankfully, the food holds up too." - brant cox

15 Soulful Shakshukas to Try Around Los Angeles, 2017 Edition | Eater LA

"After waiting an hour for a seat, Israeli salad and olives come served as the side dish to this solid shakshuka. The plate is one of the most “authentic” Israeli versions in L.A. With plenty of customers speaking Hebrew inside, it’ll feel like a place in Old Jerusalem." - Oren Peleg

Breakfast was delicious. The portion sizes are really fair and they have some of the best fruit that I have had in a long time. Everything we ordered was cooked well, and they have a lot of great options on the menu to choose from. We arrived at 10 AM Saturday for brunch and were able to sit down right after arriving. Parking in this area can be tough at times but I was able to find metered parking a half a block away. Our server was also pretty quick and all the food items came out fast as well. We ordered the Eggs Benedict, which was terrific, and the French Toast, which also was delicious. The portion sizes are really large, and as mentioned, the fruit side was especially fresh and tasty. We ordered lattes as well which I recommend because they really give a large portion, and it had a great flavor to it. Overall a great breakfast, and I would recommend to anyone. I plan to be back in the future to try other items.

I was let down by this spot. The food is just sub par. IKEA has better tasting food unfortunately. The bacon was old and precooked. The pancakes were over beaten and rubbery with minimal taste to them. The eggs tasted decent. It’s hard to mess up eggs. Ordered over easy and got more of an over medium/hard. One of the waiters shirt smelled like a dirty mildew mop and it was difficult to want to eat with that smell. My stomach turns thinking about it again. I do not recommend this place. Even even if there’s nowhere else to eat.

First, servers were kind, sweet and hospitable. The chef, however was terrible. My partner and I got our food around 45-50 minutes after ordering. We sat in front of the chef’s window. We saw her cooking food for a couple that arrived about 20 minutes after us. My partner ordered an avocado toast. The bread was cold, the presentation was horrible, the greens looked welted - I mean it was bad. The french toast was soggy and undercooked. The chef didn’t come out to apologize either. The servers were doing their best though. Lady, this is not how you treat your employees or your customers.

Standard, basic breakfast/brunch spot. Loved the location on 3rd and plenty of outside seating. Service was prompt and food was okay. The portobello omelet was the best. Salad was good too. The 3 mini cheese burgers were just ok but the fries were good. The ultimate breakfast burrito was NOT good. It had too much potato and I couldn’t taste anything else. Otherwise, it was a good place to grab a quick brunch.

The Food: The bread and spreads were top notch! The pesto bread was the best and cooked fresh. Both the pesto spread and the jam was made on site so it was super fresh. I had the eggwhich and fruit which hit the spot. The fruit was fresh also. The potatoes were a little lackluster in regards to crunch and flavor. The service: The servers seemed nice and helpful. We did have to ask for napkins a few times before we finally got them but it wasn't too bad. I would say service was 4.5/5 for that one reason. Location: of course the parking is difficult in this area but if you can find a meter (which is not exceptionally difficult on a Sunday morning) then you can park close to the location. You can choose to eat outside or inside. If it's a nice day, eating outside can be a pleasant experience. I would definitely recommend this for a breakfast/Sunday brunch location for a small group or couple.

Great brunch and the staff was super friendly and attentive. The Favorite - Omelet with goat cheese, spinach, sundried tomatoes, avocado, mushrooms, and basil; served with roasted potatoes and toast.

This was my absolute favorite brunch place for many, many years. As the many reviews can attest, it was great food and value. Unfortunately, sometime in 2024, Chef Josette Leblond purchased this somewhat iconic LA eatery and ruined it. Half the menu is gone, prices are at least 50-60% more than they were, quality is non-existent and the long-time servers were replaced with busboys with iPads. What was once a consistently packed brunch spot is now basically a ghost town all day long. Really sad and shame on her for ruining this place. Attaching a photo of my $22 "gourmet breakfast."

Convenient location and very casual restaurant and bakery. I love their outdoor seating arrangement. This place is great for breakfast or brunch. I opted for the breakfast combination, which comes with your style of eggs, potatoes, and either French toast or
