"Roeser’s restaurant, Toast lasted 24 years before closing in April 2020. The brunch mainstay, which also had a Lincoln Park location, was one of Chicago’s first high-profile places to close." - Ari Bendersky

"This is a weekday brunch spot located on the DePaul campus. And don’t let the name fool you - there are actually only a few styles of “toast” on the menu. But they do have a long list of other breakfast dishes: you’ll find omelettes, benedicts, and pancakes. Along with a lot of hungover college students." - Adrian Kane

Best brunch spot! On a Monday the wait was around 10 minutes for brunch, which wasn’t bad at all. The servers were all very friendly and attentive. We had the eggs Benedict (pictured) and the breakfast burrito. Both were excellent! Highly recommended

Always a favorite for breakfast or weekend brunch with friends. If you arrive before 8:30, you usually don’t have a wait, but even if you have too, it’s well worth your time. My go-to dish is the scrambled chorizo with jalapeño. Oh, of course, don’t forget your side of the toast! My favorite is the cinnamon raisin with strawberry jam. The staff is always friendly and works hard to turn the tables quickly. My only wish is they had an espresso machine.

Still one of my favorite omelettes in the city!! Sounds weird, but they get it so fluffy!!! The roasted potatoes and fresh English muffins are are great addition!

I'm really glad i chose this place for breakfast! The vibe is really cute and cozy, the service is good, and the food was delicious. I got a pesto prosciutto scramble that really filled me up and the potatos were perfectly crispy. The tables are close together so you could make friends with your neighbors. The sandwiches looked really good too.

Lorraine omelette with skillet potatoes was good but a little bland. The sourdough toast was great but the jelly could have had more flavor. My sister got french toast which was the tastier dish! Service was quick and efficient.

What a wonderful experience my wife and I had today. The wait was worth it— they move quickly to get guests seated and the service was exceptional. Gene (sp) was phenomenal, friendly and kind. The food was absolutely delicious. Thanks for a great morning and a nice treat!
