"There are times we’ve been sitting outside around midnight at Jockey’s, the bar next door to Toast near the Fairgrounds, watching (and smelling) the team cook bread, sauces, and jellies for the next morning. Few things have ever inspired us to get our asses home and go to bed quicker than that. The crepes, toasts, and omelets are all extremely good, but the aebelskivers are the real star of the menu. The puffed pancakes come dusted in powdered sugar and have a bunch of sauces to choose from, the best being the tangy lemon curd. This is also a spot where you’ll be rewarded for waking up early—if you get there between 6:30-7:30am on weekdays, they have a two eggs, bacon, grits, a biscuit, and a cup of coffee deal for $8." - Megan Braden-Perry

"Another longtime favorite on the metro Detroit brunch circuit, Toast has two locations in Ferndale and Birmingham. Diners can expect options like sourdough avocado toast, corned beef hash, and breakfast burritos on the menu. The dine-in menu also includes options like mimosa carafes and campfire hot chocolate with toasted marshmallow and chocolate chips. Call in or place orders online for carryout. Delivery is also available through Doordash." - Brenna Houck

"At Toast customers can order mimosas by the glass or for the table. The latter option comes with a carafe of orange juice and a bottle of the sparkling wine or non-alcoholic sparkling juice. In addition to offering several different choices for fizzy wine, Toast also allows customers to pick a flight of three juices for a little extra. Hours: 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. every day" - Eater Staff

"This is a weekday brunch spot located on the DePaul campus. And don’t let the name fool you - there are actually only a few styles of “toast” on the menu. But they do have a long list of other breakfast dishes: you’ll find omelettes, benedicts, and pancakes. Along with a lot of hungover college students." - Adrian Kane

Has a substantial amount of vegan options, fun brunch options, and great service. They have an artsy, fun vibe that makes you feel pretty welcomed. Their hot sauces and jam are so good!! And for some reason, I just love their takeout boxes.

So yummy! It’s great when a place has a cool vibe and amazing food to match. The staff seem to love working there and we’re all happy and helpful. I highly recommend and also suggest a pancake to share- you can order just a single!

My friends and I stopped by Toast in Ferndale on the way out of town for a good meal. We were able to be seated quickly inside this quaint restaurant. The service was good. The bloody mary's were good. The food was delicious. We had a great time dining on the fried green tomatoes and cinnamon rolls before diving into some breakfast bowls. If you are in Detroit, please do yourself a favor and drop in for a delicious time!

This is one of those little places you MUST visit when in Detroit/metro area, it just is! It's a cozy little place with truely home-made dishes, great portions and no skimping on the meats either. Great atmosphere, be yourself and enjoy the surroundings! Next time you come out there, bring a couple friends so they can brag about TOAST!!

I had a fantastic experience at Toast of Ferndale! Visited on a Friday afternoon for lunch and was pleasantly surprised by the abundance of seating and no wait. Our waitress was exceptional, delivering speedy and attentive service throughout our meal. The Ultimate BLT was a flavor explosion, surpassing my expectations, and the bacon fried rice was a delightful accompaniment. The breakfast cocktails added an extra touch of uniqueness and flavor to the meal. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with delicious food and great service. Highly recommend! One drawback is that parking seems to be difficult to find and is always congested no matter the time of day when I visit. Very little parking on Woodward, and most patrons use the back parking lot thru the alley.

Google
Toast is my favorite for breakfast! They have such a good menu with lots of side and bread choices, and you can get a half order of any of their sweet items. They also have homemade jam - last week was blueberry bourbon. Everyone ordered different things, and everyone had a great meal. I had the fried green tomato eggs benedict with a side of their bacon fried rice and it was so good! I even took half of the sandwich home. They have great coffee including espresso drinks and service was excellent. We got there nice and early around 9am and were seated right away. It got crowded around 10. I love it here.

Met a friend for lunch and had a nice experience! I started with a Curious George coffee (it's served cold), and followed it with the Corned Beef Benny and parmesan cheese grits... all delicious! Julia helped us and was awesome. Thanks for the great brunch!

......... *drool noises* Yes please. Please let me die, and in my last breath, I'll be taking a bite of a Cheesecake Waffle. I want to be buried slathered in Trashy Hashy. A bouquet of cinnamon rolls adorning my casket. This is my last will and testament. Signed and notarized.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of brunching at Toast in Ferndale, and let me tell you, it was a phenomenal experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibrant and welcoming atmosphere set the stage for what was a truly delightful meal. I started with the Avocado Toast, and it was unlike any I've tried before - perfectly toasted bread topped with creamy, fresh avocado, just the right touch of seasoning, and garnished beautifully. It was a refreshing start to our meal. Next, the Cinnamon Rolls were a game changer; warm, gooey, and dripping with sweet frosting, they were baked to perfection and absolutely irresistible! The star of the show, however, had to be the Eggs Benedict. The eggs were poached to perfection, with velvety hollandaise sauce drizzled over a generous serving of ham, all nestled on a soft, toasted English muffin. Each bite was a mix of savory flavors that melted in my mouth. The portion sizes were more than generous, and we ended up spending a leisurely morning savoring every dish. The service was friendly and attentive, adding to the relaxed dining experience. Toast in Ferndale has mastered the art of brunch, making it not just a meal, but an event worth savoring. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a top-notch brunch experience!

Yelp
Came here with a friend on a Sunday around 11:30 we were told there would be about a 30/45 minute wait for a table for two. I wasn't suprised by that as reading previous reviews about the size but people weren't kidding! It is small. But we peaked around and seen two spots at the bar which is first come first serve. If it's an option it's usually my spot to be for breakfast spots. Our waitress was friendly and very attentive. I had a water and super mimosa. I don't know what it is but breakfast booze always hits the spot. The drink was good but not very strong. I ordered the chicken-n-waffles and bacon fried rice I've heard a good deal about! The chicken tasted good you can tell the thin breading actually had some seasoning and super tender chicken. I didn't get a ramekin of honey and it looked like maybe it was already on the chicken? The syrup was syrup, waffle was waffle and the hot sauce was weird I couldn't quite place it, like a peri peri sauce I've had elsewhere before? The bacon fried rice was just ok. I can definitely see why people like it but I felt like it was just missing something? I am used to some crazy stuff in my rice so it's prolly just me. Would I come back again? Possibly with a friend again, $44 for one persons breakfast w/ auto 20% gratuity including is a bit steep but it's Ferndale I suppose? I always tip above 20% It just turns me off some reason when it's auto but also I get people can suck sometimes too :/

Yelp
Adorable and quaint brunch/breakfast hot spot in Ferndale. Smaller than their Birmingham location but the same amount of enthusiasm from their staff and deliciousness from the food! GLUTEN FREE OPTIONS!! They also have outside seating! Highly recommend any omelette and coffee. My cousin loved her French toast and cold brew (wasn't too sweet). Parking is street, ambiance is causal with a hint of Seattle vibes. Get there early!

Yelp
I highly recommend the bacon fried rice for brunch--it's a delicious and distinctive dish. The ambiance is fantastic, enhanced by brunch cocktails, and the staff is warm and welcoming. I went early (8AM) there were kids with us and it was perfect. It's a popular spot and tends to get busy, so I suggest arriving early to avoid a wait.

Marcel W.

Yelp
The food was excellent The service was spectacular and the ambiance was great Will definitely be back.

Michael W.

Yelp
Whew, I've fallen in Love , The best breakfast I've had in Detroit ever. My new favorite place. The service was good but that wasn't the winner for me. The food was so good it's in a cool area and the parking is scarce but the ambiance and the food made up for what it took to get in. I ordered the bacon fried rice I think it's called and it blew my socks away, and I also had the French toast and I'm glad I did. I was able to taste why this place is so popular. The art is cool here and didn't drink but they offer a full bar as well. Their breakfast isn't predictable and it's good portions. I just can't wait to try something else here.

Morgan A.

Yelp
The omelette and grit were delicious. Service was timely and everyone was friendly. The restaurant was clean but crowded.

Sarah H.

Yelp
Stopped by Toast on a beautiful Saturday. We sat on the patio and it was gorgeous!! I had an omelet with caramelized onions, sausage and cheese. My onions were a bit sweet, but the onion/sausage bites were a perfect balance. The home fries were perfect. I'll be thinking about them for awhile. My toast and strawberry jam were delicious. My husband had chicken and waffles. The waffles were perfect but the chicken had a spice he did not like. Overall positive brunch!

Jerome A.

Yelp
Love the reliably tasty Toast in Ferndale! As busy as I can ever remember it on a sunny Sunday, I was excited to indulge in brunch with the family. Always start with house coffee, then a nice savory omelette, Benny, or hash, and lastly a stack of their famous pancakes for a completely well rounded brunch experience! Toast will always be in my brunch rotation!

Larry O.

Yelp
On our days off we BRUNCH! Today my friend and I chose Toast, and after some unfriendly service at the Birmingham location, we decided to go to Ferndale! The food was delicious, from the omelette to the French toast. The only downfall would've been how long it took to receive food after ordering, "45" mins! Also, the pancakes were very thick but not in a light fluffy way. Otherwise, great breakfast/brunch place! Give it a try

Amy W.

Yelp
We decided to start our Sunday off in Ferndale. I noticed that I usually go to Royal oak and there were a lot of ferndale spots I have been missing out on. I have never been to this location so we chose to have breakfast here. We split the eggs Benedict so much food and so delicious. I ordered it with the biscuit which was a bit dense. Would have been great for biscuits and gravy but was a bit much for eggs Benedict we enjoyed some morning adult beverages and moved on. This was a great start to a great day!

Loletha B.

Yelp
Delicious little spot to eat at, don't go super hungry because there is almost always a wait no matter what time I have went. The wait isn't super long. The food is delicious! All the food looked unique in its own way with presentation. The decor was interesting and welcoming. The staff was knowledgeable and offered recommendations. Although it is kind of a distance from me I will return.

Douglas H.

Yelp
Solid breakfast/ lunch joint in the heart of Ferndale, MI. Ordered the bacon fried rice breakfast bowl. Really good. Fresh ingredients, not too heavy, and of course...BACON! Look forward to come back and dive deeper into the menu. Service was very good. The Fly Trap is still my go to in Ferndale, but Toast definitely belongs in the conversation as best breakfast in town.

Angie K.

Yelp
I was disappointed in this place. We'd seen it for years and finally decided to try it. First, I'm not a fan of places that give you cans of pop to drink. That means no refills. The cinnamon roll was not soft and wasn't even warm. I would have preferred they throw it in the microwave for 20 seconds rather than eating a cold cinnamon roll. The chicken and waffles was just okay. A basic waffle and 2 tender size pieces of fried chicken. I guess for the price I just expected a little more. My youngest got the pound cake french toast and he liked it. My other son got the mushroom omelet with a side of the fried rice and he said it was fine. My hubby got a very small, expensive bellini with his breakfast. I think it was the only time I've seen him only get one drink with a meal. This place is toward the bottom of my list of breakfast choices. I don't mind a more expensive place, as long as the food justifies it. I did not feel that the food we got was worth the price we paid. Oh, and a side note, they automatically put gratuity on your bill. So be careful you don't accidently give a double tip.

Lilly P.

Yelp
I went here with one of my friends to catch up on a Saturday morning. The atmosphere was very lively and crowded, as expected for a brunch place on the weekend. When our food arrived we noticed our orders were all swapped. We kindly asked the server to fix our orders and she was not very receptive. When our food returned it was still incorrect. This time we just kept it, even though it was not what we had ordered. I would like to try going back here again for a better experience.

Austin S.

Yelp
I love toast. The food is always good and the service is great from the staff we have worked with so far on our countless visits. I heavily enjoy the multiple mimosa options. The specials are also the go to in my opinion. The vibe is a old 60-70s diner style.

Elaine W.

Yelp
Always wanted to to visit Toast but never had the chance due to difficult parking and long lines. Have to say it's worth the wait though. Got the Bacon grilled cheese and it's perfectly made. Lots of cheese and very filling. Bread is buttery and crispy. Pairs well with the tomato soup. Bacon fried rice was also good but didn't amaze me. Friend got their BLT with truffle fries and both were 10/10. Also like their kids menu, well designed for kids with good portion and reasonable pricing. FYI they charge 20% tip for dine in and 10% for carry out.

Cameron N.

Yelp
Went here for brunch with my family and had a nice experience. We were seated promptly and re-seated when we requested to be a little further from the door. Around the table we got chicken and waffles, biscuits and gravy and I had the apples and cookies french toast. For drinks, I had the banana cold brew and my brother got the super mimosa. He said it was strong, but he's a one and done type of drinker. The cold brew was okay, but the banana flavor was too mild so I wouldn't get it again. The french toast was good, but pricey. I was torn between that and the pancakes, so I opted for a half order, thinking I'd have room leftover. The half order ($5 off the menu price) was ~$10 for *ONE* slice of bread cut in half. No one had any complaints about their food and the service was prompt, especially for them to have been so busy (on a Tuesday!) Everything came out nice and hot. Solid brunch spot, world definitely return to try more of the menu if I lived up here.

Heather M.

Yelp
The food here is very good. I have not tried something on the menu my taste buds didn't enjoy, and the service is always friendly. The wait can be very long. especially on the weekends, but it's expected. The downfall is there is NO WHERE TO PARK and the parking they had in front of the restaurant the city took away for bicycles

Lark J.

Yelp
I have been going to toast for years however, today when I order my omelette, the eggs were scorched and the avocado toast was not toasted.

Katherine F.

Yelp
The wait might be long but the food is always worth it. This is my go-to spot for brunch because the food and cocktails are consistent and always delicious. The staff are quirky and very friendly -I prefer the Ferndale location to the location in Birmingham due to this reason. Keep in mind that the prices are on the higher side (~$40/person for a cocktail/entree), however, the portions are usually enough to take leftovers and I don't mind paying extra for quality food. Check out my Instagram for more @hangry_detroiter

Yelp
Excellent food and service. Server made a drink that was usually in a can and it was better! Top notch always. Anyone that says otherwise is a hater and needs to eat somewhere else

Zarah D.

Yelp
Food was very yummy. Service was excellent. We had to wait about an hour for a table, but it was well worth the wait.

Maria M.

Yelp
The wait is worth it. The rush dies after 12 so aim for then. Service is great and my coffee and water cup were filled constantly. Food is amazing at this laid back diner atmosphere.

Tiwi H.

Yelp
Toast is delicious! We had amazing service. My husband and I skipped the long weekend brunch wait by sitting at the bar and enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. We ordered their hot chocolate and WOW! We got to see the person make it and she put so much love and care into this delicious treat and we could taste the love! My husband got a shot of espresso in his and he Dayum near fell out his chair it was sooo good! We went on to order their eggs Benedict and Chicken and Waffles and enjoyed each plate immensely. We highly recommend and I'm excited to return again on my next date day with the hubby.

Steven S.

Yelp
So this is my first time coming here in over 6 years. I haven't been since before the pandemic and before I moved to Florida. I'm now back in Michigan and wanted to try some good food. I'm on a diet, so I I wanted something more of the healthy variety. So usually this place is very busy and it helps that I came on a Tuesday. My waitress was very helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable of the menu. She helped me choose great options. The ambiance was really laid back and chill. Everyone was relaxed and it wasn't too loud at all. I ended up ordering the avocado toast and added egg whites to it. I did order a bottle of champagne for my pineapple mimosas as well. For my main course I ordered a custom omelet with mushrooms, peppers, pepper jack cheese and chicken sausage... and for my side I chose the fresh fruit. I had whole grain toast with the fresh strawberry jelly. The food was amazing and the portions was big. I wasn't able to eat it all, but I have a good snack for later. You should definitely visit this place if you never have before.

Kristin L.

Yelp
Like the cuteness of the diner. Bring a charger phone because this is how they call you into get your table. Not good for parties if more than 6. The Benny and French toast were good. The sides were a little weird.

Laquierra B.

Yelp
Customer service was exceptional . There wasn't a wait , we came in and got for 2. I had the broccoli omelette with Parmesan grits and cinnamon toast which I thought was ok. Overall rating 6.5/10. The reason behind the raiding is because I had to add seasoning to my food, along with other people saying there hair in their food sitting next to us. The ambiance of the place was nice , very small and it can get quite loud inside . The patio is nice if you can stand a few bugs

Ericka B.

Yelp
I have been trying to get a table at Toast for the better part of two years. There is always a line and we just aren't very patient with breakfast. Finally we drive by on a Sunday and see no line so we took a chance. They sat us immediately The eggs Benedict was phenomenal (even took half home) I can not speak high enough of this dish. Alana was an absolute joy and made our dining experience sooo great. Made us question why we hadn't just waited on our previous tries. Their coffee is served in these big homey coffee mugs ( I greatly appreciate that) I am so happy we finally got in, I loved our experience

Lyricz A.

Yelp
This is a warning to all if you go into this place don't get scammed I took myself on a date today I was about to bless the waiter I asked to pay my bill she said let me go get my iPod I said cool she came back told me I had to put my total amount in first then put the tip in second what she end up doing is putting my total amount in then tried to make me leave her a tip of my total amount I don't feel like that's right because most people come here is older please be careful of this scam

I'Leah W.

Yelp
The food was very good. My plate consist of hash brown, bacon bits, scramble eggs, green onions, tomatoes, and turkey sausage gravy. It also came with toast, but i really didn't like that. The place was very small and crowded. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated because they were very busy. Overall i like the food but the place is too small.

Karol C.

Yelp
In my experience going to Toast on February 18 I considered the overall visit over priced and overhyped. After waiting about 90 minutes to get a table, I was greeted with dry customer service, so dry it felt as if we were inconveniencing the server for coming in to eat. My main entree was lukewarm and my sides were cold. Not to mention having to sit by a cold window in the front of the door and not being offered to sit in the dining room so I can barely take my coat off to eat since the windchill of the door coming in will take my appetite away. Crowded, little space. Overpriced, rude. Not coming back again.

Jeffrey B.

Yelp
I love toast. Or I used to? I would often say it was my favorite breakfast place and now I just don't know. I am happy to see it expand, and that the menu retained many things from over a decade ago, but my most recent trip just left something to be desired. A friend and I went out for a fancy President's Day breakfast. We had to wait, which sure, it's a hip breakfast place in Ferndale, home of brunch. So we wandered the neighborhood for twenty or so and we're summoned back via text message for our table. I ordered the Wild Mushroom omelet, which is one of my favorite things. The issue I have now is the last two times I've ordered it, there has been too much truffle oil. I get it. Truffle oil is fancy so douse it. But actually don't. I just feel like the proportions are off, the herbed ricotta is lacking what used to make it really special, and for some reason this time there was a weird citrus note. As always, the toast was served under toasted--but weirdly I don't mind that. Strawberry jam on jalapeño cheddar challah makes me happy. I don't know who wants plum preserves, but it's not me. Service was fine. Though, I question them adding a fee/gratuity without someone saying this is what the what. How much of a percent is it? Is it just going to server or is it being split with back of house? And if that's the case, raise your prices. I guess, I'll come back someday, but it just isn't going to be at the top of my rotation for a while. And honestly I'm amazing my iPhone hasn't made one of those videos that's like Toast through the years, because I guarantee you there's enough photos to do so.

Yungray P.

Yelp
Good food good service very fast really don't have to wait. This is one of my top spots to come too. But good food every time so you let me kno what's yo best spot

Tracy M.

Yelp
Cute spot Food was extremely good Service was Great! Our server went above and beyond to make sure our orders was right We tried every flavor of mimosas!!! Wasn't disappointed

Donny W.

Yelp
The food is always interesting and tasty. I love that they experiment with flavors. The service is cool, they have nice servers who are super helpful and give good recommendations. One of my favorite parts about Toast is the look and feel of the place. The space is a little tight but it's nice.

Jack P.

Yelp
Sunday brunch with my girlfriend's was delicious! There were so many items on the menu that sounded good, we'll definitely be trying something new next time. It was well worth the 45 min. wait. I'm writing the review, but the some of it is based on their comments while we were eating Parmesan grits-so creamy, that parmesan crisp is EVERYTHING! Bacon fried rice-I only had a fork full because I tasted my friend's. That will definitely be my side if I don't choose the entre' portion next time. There were only a couple of grains of rice and the pocketed jalapeños left in the bowl Chicken and waffle-very good. My first time trying this combo (anywhere). The fact that the chicken is a thigh, not the usual wings or breast, sold me. Very good! I'm a wimp when it comes to spicy stuff so I got the hot sauce on the side. I'm glad I did, it has a nice little kick to it. Blueberry pancakes-nice and fluffy. Good, but not as good as our favorite pancake house. The coffee in the pic has a good flavor to it, as well. Parisian omelet-it looked really good, but my friend was too full after finishing her pancakes and a couple cups of coffee, she needed a box. Bacon-crispy, thick, and tasty

Donald S.

Yelp
Who doesn't love brunch? Well actually...I don't. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, I'm all for it. Brunch? It throws menu entire schedule off. I simply don't get it, don't judge me! But Toast has me intrigued. Gourmet omelets, elevated French toasts, bacon fried rice, hash, and even huevo rancheros. If this were what a typical brunch menu looked liked, I'd be a believer. Did I mention chicken and waffles?! An excellent menu if I ever saw one. Toast is vibrant is and full of energy. An eccentric space full of lively art and decor. The service is attentive, that's if you can get a table of course. As many options lie in front of me, I never pass on chicken and waffles. It's honestly a weakness. If I were being interrogated, I'd probably spill the beans if they walked in with chicken and waffles. I seriously have to work on that lol. The dish comes with a side, bacon fried rice in my case, which is apparently one of the favorites at Toast. As much as I wanted to fall head over heals, it was all simply ok. The rice falls short in flavor. Although nicely breaded, a deboned chicken breast is not the ideal option to pair with a waffle. Removing the bone saps the chicken of a ton of flavor, while the breast is also the driest cut. The waffles however, did not disappoint! Big, Fluffy, soft, and full of malty goodness. This is Clearly the star of the dish. All in all, a good experience. 3.5, rounding up. Even though I didn't enjoy my meal as much as I would have liked to, there are way too many creative and delicious sounding menu items to not give Toast another go.

Leslie C.

Yelp
Excellent service! Thank you to Scott for taking such great care of us today! He was very kind and attentive. Very fun, retro/vintage style restaurant. Broad menu and vegetarian options too. This is a popular place so expect a wait on the weekends. We waited in our car and were sent a text when our table was ready. I loved the Huevos Rancheros and I added chorizo. Fabulous flavors. I had the Curious George coffee (banana coffee with whipped cream). There is a small parking lot behind the restarting and plenty of free street parking in side streets. Cool vibe and great experience. I will be back.

Amber G.

Yelp
The food was fantastic and the service was outstanding. Our bill came to just over $30 and we left spending $60.00 because the waiter did a fantastic job. I dont remember the waiters name but he did a fantastic job. He was super nice, didn't come back every 2 seconds. Made sure our order was right, made sure my husband had a refill of coffee and gave him a cup to go as well. Very well worth it! The esthetic was awesome too. The small little vintage toasters all over was super cute

Julia B.

Yelp
When I came in I asked the hostess, Alison what she recommended, she said a couple different menu options, including the corned beef hash. I got it and it was SOOO good. Homemade and so fresh. The food came out hot, the staff was super friendly and it was overall a great time. Will be back!

Alfred H.

Yelp
Came in because Yelp said it's the best place for pancakes it did not disappoint (not a fan of pancakes ) I am a grown man and as hard as I tried I could not eat NOT EVEN HALF. I wanted to and the fight was real Cause the dish in this photo kept exploding various different flavors in my mouth but I could not. Felt like a episode of man vs food. Thank you for the service and the value

Foggy L.

Yelp
It's popular so there's almost always a wait but it's honestly worth it because everything on the menu is so delicious!

Margie S.

Yelp
Toast is still among the best places for brunch after years in the business. Today we got the breakfast burrito and the Nova lox Bennie. The burrito comes solo but is delicious and ample. The Bennie was one of the best things I have ever had. Delicious salmon, spinach and tomatoes on your choice of base covered in a formidable hollandaise. So good! Bloody Mary's rounded our meal out perfectly. Staff was super helpful and so nice. One of my favorite breakfast joints!

Amanda L.

Yelp
I have finally eaten at both Toast locations and can attest to the fact that both are simply SUPERB! The menus are the same, the food quality is the same, and the only main difference between these two are that the prices are a few dollars more expensive per item at the Birmingham location, I'm assuming because...it's Birmingham lol. Parking is probably a bit more difficult at this Toast Ferndale location, depending on when you go there too. They have a really small lot in the back that will most definitely be full with all the other nearby lots behind businesses next to Toast reserved for those businesses only, with signs up and everything threatening to tow you if you park here but do not patron the business. So your best bet at parking near Toast Ferndale would be at one of the spots along the side of Woodward or on one of the side streets, which depending on when you go could also be all full. At least in Birmingham, it's all street parking and/or parking deck options close by that you have plenty of options to choose from and in Birmingham the first two hours in any of their parking decks is free. Other than that, absolutely love the vibey interiors of Toast and the food. In Birmingham and Ferndale alike, this is definitely a go-to breakfast/brunch spot on any day and you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Delicious all around! Love you, Toast! :)

Yelp
I ordered the half stack waffles, pancakes, and the huevos rancheros and they were all absolutely delicious. They served the waffles and pancakes with warm syrup, and the batter for both had to have had vanilla or something extra that set it apart from one's I've had in other breakfast joints. The huevos rancheros were a great contrast to the pancakes and waffles I got, the tortilla strips were crisp and the black beans complimented the eggs really well. Great if you like savory breakfasts. The orange juice was a bit overpriced, they told me it was fresh squeezed but it tasted like carton OJ to me. Not a big deal, overall I was very happy with everything. Our waitress was also super attentive. Will definitely return.v

Yelp
Came here right when they opened and service was excellent! Before this I was not a fried green tomato fan, but after their's I am a changed person! This was delicious! They were fried correctly and sauce on top was a perfect pairing! Next the berry french toast was definitely a delicious sweet dish for the morning. Berries were fresh and in their prime and the French toast was made well!

Yelp
Great atmosphere with great food at a great price! 10/10 service from our servers and the host. I am gluten free and got the huevos rancheros and had no problems! Can't wait to try more from this spot.

Yelp
The corn beef hash was absolutely disgusting. It was corn, beef wedges, and not corn beef hash, and the eggs. The poached eggs were undercooked, and the waitress had to have an attitude I would not recommend this place.
