"Toast, a new brunch destination from the minds behind Richmond’s most creative doughnut shop, will make its debut in Sugar Land this weekend. An update to the Grove Do-Nutz’s Facebook page indicates that Toast will open its doors at 320 Highway 6 in Sugar Land on June 22. As Eater reported back in July 2018, the new restaurant is a project of the minds behind the Grove, known for slinging creatively-topped doughnuts and croissant doughnuts in Richmond. The space is bright, decked out in egg-yolk-yellow, and comes complete with an eye-catching sunburst chandelier and Insta-worthy neon sign that reads “Do what u love.” According to a menu for the restaurant, Toast will serve everything from bone-in chicken wings and sandwiches to more traditional breakfast fare, including omelets stuffed with a variety of toppings, Vietnamese steak and eggs, and croissant doughnuts from the Grove, garnished with everything from maple bacon to s’mores. When it debuts on June 22, Toast will be open daily from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m." - Amy McCarthy

We had an amazing experience. Our server was Kobe! He was attentive and friendly and took time to have a chat with us. I had the chocoberry croissant donut with a rose latte and my husband had the Hangover breakfast with French toast and the death by chocolate croissant donut. Everything was delicious. Highly recommend the rose latte!! Thanks again Kobe!

My sisters and I took my daughter here to celebrate her 17th birthday and if you’re going here to see that attractive Asian guy from TikTok don’t waste your time he won’t be here. I feel like that is false advertisement saying he would be here also we drove an hour to get here. Aside from that the place is so small and super packed we had to wait on a table for 45 min! I will say the staff was very accommodating and nice and they were working very hard. The food was mediocre and I paid $18 for a basic breakfast sandwich with potatoes and my sisters hot migas, kimchi fries and omelets which was not all that, overall it was not worth the hour drive.

Drove 14 hours from Florida to visit Sugarland for a few days. I saw this restaurant on the VisitSugarland Instagram page and decided to visit. We went a little bit after opening so it wasn't busy. Got seated immediately. Our server was nice. My mom enjoyed her shrimp and grits. However my chicken and waffles were disappointing. My waffle was good but the chicken was TOUGH. I could barely cut into it. The server offered to get me another but my appetite was already ruined. It also wasn't taken off my bill but besides that, everything was nice. And no, I did not get to see the TikTok guy while here🤣

Google
Visited this nice place twice. Price seem a bit higher than the first time. Food is great. Love the drinks, so much to choose from. They need an extra restroom, they have just one so there were people waiting to use it the entire time I was there.

Honestly I know we went on Mother’s day so it was packed and the wait was long and I witnessed the owner or someone not sure get into with a family and that wasn’t a good look. Other than that Alicia was amazing waitress! Awesome attitude and very reassuring. The food was amazing to me which thankfully after the long wait I wasn’t too mad! Would have to try here again on a slower day

My visit to Toast Houston was nothing short of disappointing. I came in with high hopes after a friend's recommendation, but sadly, it didn’t live up to the hype. From the very start, the experience was underwhelming. The silverware on the table was visibly dirty, and when I asked for plastic utensils as an alternative, I was handed ones that were bent and barely usable. To make matters worse, the food arrived cold, which only added to the frustration. It’s hard to enjoy a meal when it feels like it’s been sitting out for too long. The service wasn’t any better—there was a noticeable lack of attentiveness, and addressing these issues seemed like more of a chore for the staff than a priority. All in all, it was an unpleasant experience. Considering the reputation Toast Houston seems to have, I expected much better. I left the restaurant feeling let down and unlikely to give it another try.

Google
The restaurant was highly acclaimed on TikTok, however when we visited in February for breakfast: we were faced with long wait times (40 minutes+) for food and higher than expected costs for certain dishes. It seemed in our case that the delay was due to staffing in the kitchen which is understandable, our waiter was incredibly kind and the location was convenient near the interstate. Ultimately though, we had another appointment right after our visit here and we felt rushed by the slow food service which ruined the overall experience.

Google
Ask for Alicia (like Alicia keys) she has great recommendations, constantly checked in with us, and was extremely kind. Food is 10/10 I got the Buffalo breakfast wrap with a chocolate chip pancake and it was wonderful!! HIGH RECOMMEND the purple rain drink💜

Nadia K.

Yelp
Food 10/10 (partial halal menu 10/10) Service 10/10 (shout out my girl Alicia, I heart you) Vibes 10/10 Live, Laugh, Love Toast

Yelp
What a hidden gem ! Our service was exceptional with our server Alicia . Never met such a genuine server like her . The food was yummy and cronuts were a hit . This place is a must go for breakfast or brunch . The ambiance was comfortable and the setting outside was enjoyable . Thank you Toast for an awesome experience !

Cinthya R.

Yelp
This Sunday was my first time ever going to toast and 10/10 recommend for brunch the mimosa flight was so delicious and our server Kimberly went above and beyond. She was the sweetest person ever and super patient with us as this was our first time. She gave us some recommendations and the hash browns were by far our favorite! Definitely recommend will be coming back soon !

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining at Toast in Sugarland , Texas, and it was an experience worth sharing. From the moment I walked in, the warm, welcoming atmosphere set the tone for a delightful breakfast. I opted for the breakfast sandwich, and it was nothing short of spectacular. The bun was incredibly buttery, with a perfect balance of crispiness on the outside and softness on the inside. It was clear that great care had been taken in its preparation, making each bite a joy. To complement my meal, I ordered the mimosa flight, which was a refreshing and fun addition. It was the perfect way to elevate the breakfast experience, making it feel both indulgent and invigorating. Overall, Toast exceeded my expectations. The quality of the food, the attention to detail, and the inviting ambiance make it a standout spot. I have now been twice. My only suggestion would be to train the waiter staff a little bit more as they seem to struggle in the customer service area. I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast that's sure to leave you both satisfied and eager to return. I give this restaurant 4 stars with room for improvement once they get their customer service on par.

Yelp
We sat at the bar because regular tables were a 40 minute wait. However, it was kind of hard flagging someone down to take our order despite them working right in front of us. I think we sat there for around 20 minutes before one of the waitresses asked if anyone took our order yet. I noticed that the customers who came in after didn't seem to have as many issues though. We waited another 20-30 minutes on our food, but I can understand since it was so packed. We ordered the Mad dog, smothered philly fries, and creme brulee pancake. Mad dog (6/10): Most of the flavor was from the grilled onions, which was really good. The meat and everything else was quite bland. The fries tasted similar to McDonald french fries to me. I think a bit more salt would've made it a lot better. Smothered philly fries (5/10): Again, the flavor was kinda bland in my opinion? They don't skimp on the meat, but I feel like the meat is still pretty dry and unseasoned. Same kind of Mcdonald's-like fries. Creme brulee pancakes (10/10): This is the one thing I would consider coming back for. The pancakes here are really nice. They weren't soggy and overly soft like a lot of places. I liked cracking the creme brulee, and I didn't find it to be overly sweet. We also struggled to get our receipt and pay. One of the waitresses said she would bring us the check, but we waited 10 minutes before asking someone else. He said he would bring it, but we waited another 10 minutes, and the first waitress ended up noticing that we still hadn't got our receipt. If you give your customers a QR code for the menu, why not add an option to just order and pay on your phone as well?

Nestor S.

Yelp
Third attempt to dine here, still no luck. It was just my wife and I waiting to be seated. We didn't want to sit at the bar so we decided to wait. In the forty five minutes waiting four other parties came and went. When a table finally opened up it went to the party of five that waited only fifteen minutes. No offers to provide any drinks while editing, no explanation. When they brought out a fan to deal with the heat we decided to take the loss and head elsewhere. My apologies if it's just my luck, but greater powers that he obviously don't want me dining here. Hope you guys figure it out, the menu looks great.

Mahwish S.

Yelp
This brunch spot is BUSY!! But with good reason! The food and drinks are good! Go ahead and get the mimosa flight! I had strawberry, peach, pineapple and mango and they all were good! I had the hangover breakfast and upgraded my pancake to the Mazapan pancake. I liked the sweet cream and caramel sauces. I would've liked a little bit more of a crunchier crumble on top. My ladies surprise me with an awesome brunch, and the staff were very nice. Reservations are HIGHLY recommended! They need to have a bigger location.

Ada J.

Yelp
I've finally ventured out to Sugar Land to check out their food scene. We came here for a nice Sunday brunch. The menu is pretty extensive with some classic brunch items and some Vietnamese fusion dishes. There's also vegan and halal options available. We were immediately seated and received great service throughout. I was happy to see Vietnamese iced coffee on the menu and obviously had to order it. They didn't overdo it on the condensed milk so it was just the right amount of sweetness. I ordered the chicken biscuit and gravy with cheesy hash. The chicken was nice and crispy and they definitely don't skimp out on the gravy. We shared the chocoberry cronut which I somehow miraculously had room for. It was delicious but I would probably order one without cream next time. I was willing to try it out but I'm just not a fan of cream-filled donuts. I'd say this is a pretty solid brunch spot and worth checking out.

Kendrick D.

Yelp
Went out for Sunday brunch looking to try a new spot and was blown away. The atmosphere alone is reason enough to get comfortable and stay a while. It's such a vibe. When you walk in everyone is doing two things, stuffing their faces and having a great time. I knew the food was good from how loud people were smacking tables down from me. They had sold out of the cronuts 2 times while I was there and I didn't get to taste them...I'll be back for them. So I tried a oreo cream pancake that caused a foodgasm in my body. I didn't even get to take a picture of it. It was almost like it disappeared. My chicken sandwich was special, a true delight, and everyone was so nice. When the donuts were finally ready for me the baker had dropped the tray. Everyone was sad, but I knew from the time I walked in I would be back and they can't keep them away from me forever!!!!

Mariam K.

Yelp
the food and vibe of this place was really good! shoutout to our waitress alicia for a good time! Chicken & Waffles - halal spicy chicken sandwhich - halal buffalo chicken burrito - halal most of the chicken items here are halal! we're gonna be coming back for sure!

Mariah M.

Yelp
While the service at Toast was friendly, quick and efficient, the food was a miss for me. My boyfriend enjoyed the chicken and waffles but noted they were average. He also got a mudslide and enjoyed it, but when I tasted it I just got mint syrup milk with chocolate syrup gunks from the bottom. I ate one half of my avocado toast before realizing it wasn't for me. The avocado wasn't fresh at all and there was so much that it was really a mushy mess. The cheesy hash was gritty and mushy as well. We may try the cronuts one day but for brunch I don't think we'd be back.

Jessica M.

Yelp
My girls and I had a good time. We went to Toast for Mother's Day and the food was delicious. The service was good even though they were pretty busy.

Randy V.

Yelp
Had the biscuits and gravy. Wife got an omelet. Gravy was good could have used some more sausage. Didn't particularly care for the cheesy hash browns. My wife got the breakfast potatoes. The potatoes were the better choice. We were sat promptly, however it took a long time for a waitress to stop by. There were long pauses between our waitresses trip. We noticed that she had several tables but not in any one section. This had her all over the establishment. We asked her about our observation and she confirmed that they don't zone the restaurant, but they rotate customers, regardless where they sit. The amount of service showed this as well. The positives: tasty gravy, breakfast potatoes and large portions. Negatives: service is lacking, establishment is loud. (Lots of tile so everything loud). Will likely try again, but won't likely make a special trip.

Lynley M.

Yelp
I brought my mom here for breakfast and enjoyed the meal we had. The breakfast potatoes were kind of hard but everything else tasted well. I like the fact that the breakfast sandwich is on a brioche bun. Nice touch. Can get loud if lots of people are there but it's nice and quaint. Wasn't very expensive but wasn't cheap. Nice hot tea selection. Our waitress was so sweet.

Humairaa A.

Yelp
Love their viet steak and eggs! Great viet iced coffee. There's so many halal options here. It's clearly labeled with a black sticker on their menu. Burger was okay the one time I tried it. All of their pancakes and donuts are good. Skip the French toast- it's not a brioche toast but rather a thin wheat type of bread. There's something for everyone here and they do substitutions. it stays busy here which is always a good sign. Great service and very nice casual ambience. Fresh plants surround you and bright yellow touches around the place!

Amanda B.

Yelp
Food and drinks were really good! I came here with my sister after a workout. Alicia was a sweetheart and helped us decide on a meal and drink. We will definitely be back. Environment is very cute as well.!

MJ Z.

Yelp
Food was terrible, service was absolutely awful. If you want to eat over fried bacon and not cooked fries and pay overpriced everything and waste your money visit this place. If I could've put no star I would've.

Gina D.

Yelp
I was in the area looking for somewhere new to try and googled breakfast. It's a cute inviting restaurant with lot of plants. I ordered Vietnamese coffee and a Toast Breakfast. I asked to substitute the toast for a biscuit. The server said she didn't know if she can do that but she will try. My food came out with the substitute biscuit. The food was barely room temperature and the cheesy hash was cold. The biscuit was hard and toasted. The bacon wasn't crispy as requested. The pancake had a good flavor but was overcooked. The eggs were perfectly cooked but wasn't hot. Just overall not what I expected for a first time visit. It took awhile for the server to come back to check. By then, the food was cold. I told her about everything and she said there's a new cook that has been overcooking the food. There wasn't a manager present. She offered to have it remade. I declined, paid for the coffee, tipped $5 and went elsewhere.

John L.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying the service was horrible! Our table was unattended for about 15min . I had to grab the host to put in my order. Waited 30min and Food was cold! They messed up the order! How does three little French toasts take longer than steak and eggs???? Waste of time and money

Theresa O.

Yelp
Went today around lunchtime with some friends. Place was definitely busy, but we were seated right away. Decor was your typical TikTok/Instagram aesthetic; complete with ivy wall, neon signs and a noise level to rival any club. We waited around 15-20 minutes for someone to come over and take our drink orders, he was nice enough but it took a really long time for him to bring our drinks and then take our order. In this time, several other tables came in, were seated, ordered food, paid and LEFT and we still hadn't received anything. Our server never came back to our table to check up on us; after about 45 minutes, we flagged down another server and got the manager...she was somewhat apologetic but our server (who finally decided to walk over) was extremely rude when we asked about why so many other tables with larger parties had received their orders and we had not. Only positive was we got our drinks taken off the bill since it was literally the only thing we had. There are so many establishments in and around Sugar Land with better food, prices and service. Skip this place, would give zero stars if I could.

Aileen M.

Yelp
Gave it a 3. The food is good, and the place is pretty but we waited 50mins for our food just for him to eat half way through and my food still didn't arrive till much later. And just for 3 other people to be serve before us when we order way before they got there. We got there when it wasn't a busy time and there wasn't much customers until it did. My side looks sad bc our food wasn't serve at the same time which would be nice

Tha L.

Yelp
First time here. Overall service and food were good. The pork chop had a really good Asian marinade flavor. Would recommend this dish. Food was hot and didn't take too long for service. Enough time to look over the menu and put in our order as soon as server came by to help. We will be back whenever we are in this area.

Tiffany B.

Yelp
Went on a Sunday afternoon and it was really packed, but they were quick to get us seated. The inside was cute with plants scattered throughout the restaurant. I had the toast, home style potatoes with egg and bacon. It was very savory,my favorite on the plate was definitely their potatoes. For drinks me and my friend got the Blue Electric Lemonade and the Strawberry Soju Cocktail. Both of them were really good, refreshing and almost soda-like. We also ordered the croissant donuts,Oreo cheesecake and Nutella S'mores. Good dessert options if you wanted something sweet after breakfast! This place had a really nice vibe and I would definitely come again to try different things on the menu!

Tree P.

Yelp
What a weird experience. Started off very friendly and kind. We ordered and the server was great. Then things went downhill. We got 2/5 entrees, they were great. Then we waited 20 minutes and got the third. Then we had to get up and ask what was happening and we got the fourth. Then we waited another 45 minutes. It's now been over an hour and the only one who didn't get their order, is a 4-year old who wanted pancakes. Server is nowhere to be seen. Friendly owner/manager nowhere to be seen. No apology. We send the kids to figure out how pancakes can take over an hour. Then a random other employee comes and has the gumption to suggest that they'll take the pancakes off the bill because we didn't get it. We told them our four year old is starving and they finally bring it. Again, serve never shows her face again, owner/manager never shows his face. No apology, no discount, and a mandatory 18% gratuity when 0% was deserved. Food is great, everything else is torturously bad.

Varsha V.

Yelp
I got the Mexican bread french toast, which was decent but a little small and dry. My friend got the chili oil eggs, which she said was really good! Service was great! Solid and well priced brunch spot

Razi A.

Yelp
Very fun! Fusion brunch place in sugar Land. Sunday noon was very crowded but we sat outside and they were very polite and attentive. Everyone loved their food. I liked the chili oil eggs and also the bulgogi sandwich. Biscuit and gravy looked great as well. Plus they have lots of good drinks and lemonades. Will definitely be back. Good combo of sweet and savory with some fusion of Asian flavors

Tania S.

Yelp
Food service was very friendly good vibes in the restaurant and food was AMAZING 10/10 me and my boyfriend finished everything!!

Jordan C.

Yelp
Food was amazing and so was our server - Torriya! I got the chicken and biscuit and it was so good!!!

Julaim M.

Yelp
Loved it Kimberly was our server and she was so nice and attentive. Would definitely come here again and recommend so much!!!!

Trap M.

Yelp
Alicia was such an amazing waitress. All of the food was really amazing . I had nutmella pancakes with chocolate chips and caramel drizzle on the side wtih two scrambled eggs with cheese

Yashaunti W.

Yelp
the food was good. I really liked my server Alisha! she was super sweet and very attentive . thank youu

Joy O.

Yelp
Found the restaurant through TikTok and it did not disappoint. Food was delicious and server was friendly, it was a busy morning but server did a great job. The ambience was friendly and overall great experience.

Diana N.

Yelp
3.5 stars Food was great but a little pricey. Waiter was good and attentive. Viet pork and eggs $15 - (2 eggs your way, 2 chops, and a salad) - very tasty and tender pork surprisingly. I only expected it to be bigger due to reviews. (Didn't look like 2 5oz chops.) BF and I shared just because we both got cronuts, but if you're hungry, you could probably eat it all. The chops were pretty thin. Maple bacon cronut $5 - very good. Crispy, flaky cronut, good bacon. Good combo of salty/ sweet. Bf loved it for his 1st time having cronuts. A little bit more oily than what I remember at Grove though. Strawberry cheesecake cronut $5 - also very good if you like cream cheese. We enjoyed both cronuts but agreed that the maple bacon one was better just because it's different and has more dimensions (salty/ sweet, crispy bacon)

yareli m.

Yelp
Food was rly good, they had a lot of options (even halal) and the service was nice would recommend to check this out, there was no wait time and the place looks very aesthetic

Kristian M.

Yelp
I fell in love with toast!!! The food was amazing, the services was fenomenal. The atmosphere was O so comfortable. I had to come back to try the other menu options. The mazapán pancakes are a must!!! Super delicious food and drinks. Can't wait to pay them a visit again.

Kimberly N.

Yelp
Was definitely a waste of money. $27 for two undercooked pancakes and a potato puck. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and it was charged as a fruit tea and so I was charged for each refill- $5+ per refill. I thought that was ridiculous. And it's not listed on the fruit tea as a fruit tea. Definitely would not return.

Thomas G.

Yelp
I stumbled across this breakfast place five years ago, and I have personally witnessed this restaurant progress and get better over the years. The owners are actively there and very attentive to both how the staff interact with patrons and the quality of the food coming from the kitchen. As with any new restaurant the kinks need to be ironed out, but I can say that this is one off the best breakfast places in Houston I have been to. They are constantly updating the menu, to keep it fresh and inviting. I enjoy returning to see what new dishes they have added. For me there are many closer breakfast places but none have my preference like toast has. The restaurant decore is young, fresh and inviting, the walls and ceilings are decorated with a nature theme that gives the restaurant an aesthetically inviting ambience. The menu has classic breakfast choices as well as Vietnamese and Hispanic pops of flavor infused in their dishes and drinks. The owners always welcome me and recognize me along with many other patrons, they make this restaurant feel more like a family than a cold corporate cookie cutter restaurant type. I have seen this place become more and more popular over the years and the staff and menu continue to grow and mature. I believe and hope this restaurant will continue to flourish and grow years to come.

Shabana C.

Yelp
The service is slow. To about 20 min. to get our food. Only 1 other table was occupied at the time. All tables were dirty, we had to clean ourselves. Lots of servers but not very attentive. There were fruit flies in our plates and drinks. One Call Club, a kids grilled cheese with fruit, an ala carte french toast and a decaf coffee was $40. The chicken was in pieces vs one large chicken breast. The grilled cheese was burnt! The french toast was awful, dry. The salt & pepper shoe string fries were good, crispy. I ate them all but definitely not enough to bring me back. I was charged for a side of sauce that I never got. I will not be returning because I prefer Whataburger in the same shopping center. It is so much more affordable. oh well.

N N.

Yelp
EXTREMELY SLOW service!! Nice atmosphere and good food. Also, there was something wrong with every plate we ordered. 6 of us and something was wrong with all our food. Took over 40 min just to get our drinks...water and drip coffee . And about an hour to get our food. Half the customers were just waiting for food. The whole place kept looking at the kitchen and server counter wondering what's going taking so long. It really seemed like there was one cook doing everything. Server was nice but holy smokes it was very slow. Don't think we'll go back.

Kauthar S.

Yelp
The customer service was phenomenal, the brunch menu has so many great options. If your looking for great vibes and nice staff this is a top choice.

Nick M.

Yelp
Food was okay not that great but workers and owners are great but it's really hot I don't think the a/c works but overall was not that bad just to crowded

Phillip D.

Yelp
Too loud. Waited a while before we got menus. 2 menus for 4 people. Food was fair. Service was ok. Would not go back.

Margi L.

Yelp
DO NOT RECOMMEND. Concerned about management's commitment to service and health/food safety. I have been to this establishment several times however today's experience left me shocked and concerned about this establishment and their commitment to food safety, quality and service. From checking in at the hostess station to walking out there door, there were issues with the service, servers, food quality and commitment, to proper health standards. When asking to speak with the manager to discuss our concerns the server told us "the manager is done with you and does not want to speak with you". (This was the first and only time we asked to speak to anyone). When the server (Kobe) dropped the togo containers on the floor and then proceeded to give the dirty containers to us proclaiming "there is nothing wrong with them" he clearly did not understand food safety and hygene. When the manager finally came out to talk with us, she too did not understand the concerns we had that we wanted to discuss . It was no concern that the wrong order was placed on our table and then picked up to be served to the correct table. (No you do not reserve food that was served to someone else). And Renda did not feel there was anything wrong with using containers that had fallen on the floor. Perhaps health inspectors need to visit and explain proper food safety and handling.

Atavias W.

Yelp
Kimberly was very attentive the food was very delicious I will definitely be back with my friends and family

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Came in today expecting to try a new restaurant with my partner and left feeling unwelcome & neglected. Sat down after 5 minutes waiting which is fine , however was told that a waiter / waitress was going to attend us. 15 minutes went by & no one even bother to attend or simply greeted us at our table. I understand it being busy & having to wait but simply a hello would have been fine. Seeing others being attended to that came after us is what really made it worse. Unfortunately, after waiting we just left feeling disappointed hopefully this can be fixed going forward.

Alyssah C.

Yelp
Great food and great service! All of our food was freshly made! We received our food in a timely manner and they have amazing mimosas!

Dayzha W.

Yelp
Good food! Good service, and the Kronuts are delectable! Toast is definitely going to be one of my go to brunch spots.

Sarah B.

Yelp
Food was excellent, friendly staff. The ambiance was nice. They were a little short-staffed so our food did take an hour to arrive, but this is often out of the control of the management.

Faith J.

Yelp
Came here on a busy Saturday morning! We had nice servers, however the inside was super dim. We went outside and it got super hot! Pick your battle. The food came out as soon as possible which made it super convenient. The food was lukewarm though. The mimosas were on point though! Would I come back here, maybe if it's less busy. They need music for background music THATS one thing!

Zain A.

Yelp
Solid brunch spot with halal options and exceptional customer service. Korean beef banh mi was star of the show imho and iced viet coffee is decent too. Give them a try!
