"The Toasted Walnut, a lesbian bar in Philadelphia’s Gayborhood, will close for good. It was a refuge to queer women for the past five years and a staple for the lesbian community. The bar faced financial pressure and challenges due to the pandemic, as well as the owner's personal health problems and high rent costs." - Dayna Evans

We really enjoyed our brunch here on Saturday. Totally nice place with awesome rainbow lighting. The staff were super nice and very accomadating. We so much enjoyed our Bloody Marys and the food, though the frittata we orderd were a bit underwhelming and lacking a simple side. The French toast and the burger breakfast we totally delectable! It was also nice to see they prepare their bacon as Sisters once did, but I would have appreciate more then 2 small pieces. We will definitely return for another meal.

Love. . is love. And giiiirl did I feel the love! Located in the Gaybrohood, Toasted Walnut is known as an all women’s gay bar. When we walked in it was a mixed crowd. It was a great time no matter your preference. They have a full bar that serves food. I saw other guest food and it looked really good! While in there, they had a DJ playing so great music & my friends and I had fun even if we were in there for less than 20 minutes. The decor I feel like is what won me over. So many bright random lights and Love is Love paintings. It sure did make the place pop. If in Philly, I will stop by again!

This is a really modern and chill bar. Prices were moderate, but not too bad. It's a great place to come to dance, and they have a second floor which is cool.

It has an all inclusive vibe, but mostly a lesbian hangout. The mixed drinks weren't as stiff as I am used to getting from other bars in the area but I would definitely go back. The go-go girls are very nice. Great performers. The live music downstairs was fun as well.

Great bar. It's chill and there's just enough people that it's lively but not so many that you feel claustrophobic. Everyone seems to be there to have a good and relaxed time. Karaoke every Thursday and it's always a blast. Drinks are pretty good too.
