Here Are the Hottest New Restaurants in San Francisco, October 2024

"The team behind Tacolicious spread its footprint to Noe Valley with the opening of Todo el Dia, an all-day restaurant that serves breakfast tacos by day and fire-licked rotisserie chicken at night. Think of the lunch and dinner menu as a fancified version of El Pollo Loco: tacos, tortas, and family-sized chicken meals come with freshly made blue corn tortillas, Rancho Gordo yellow eye beans, and mint-cilantro rice." - Dianne de Guzman, Lauren Saria

Where to Eat and Drink in Noe Valley

"The name is apt at this all-day restaurant specializing in fire-grilled chicken, slow-cooked guisados, and patio beers. This one comes from the team behind Valencia Street’s Tacolicious and is meant for the neighborhood’s families and fans of powerful lunches. By morning Postscript handles coffee and SF Brewing Co. tackles things in the evening, partnering with the restaurant to create a Noe Valley blonde ale." - Paolo Bicchieri, Becky Duffett

Google
Terrific taco joint with delicious food. Bright and cheerful atmosphere with upbeat music. Lots of seating inside as well as a cute little outdoor patio. Very clean and organized. Staff is very friendly and fast. Also sells funky swag with their logo on it.

Google
Great new addition. I had the 3 taco plate with pork, chicken, and shrimp. The pork was phenomenal and the other two were great too. The service was top notch and the restaurant had a really chill vibe. The table salsa was hot and had great flavor. The nozzles on the salsas were great, everyone should have those. Met one of the partner owners who was very hospitable and welcoming.

Google
Great fast casual taco spot! For $20 I got 2 chicken tacos, a side salad and an iced tea. The menu has clearly marked which items are gluten free. The decor is very cute and the sunny back patio is awesome. Honestly I think it's better than the original tacolicious and has better more relaxed vibes. Will be back!

Google
I didn’t realize this was a part of Tacolicious or I wouldn’t have went lol, but.. tried the Happy Hour taco special and it was interesting?! It was a ground beef and bean taco with american cheese and BBQ sauce, or maybe it was A1? Either way hard to tell, but I didn’t hate it?! Ate all.. I won’t be back but if you’re from Idaho or someplace where real mexican food doesn’t matter to you this is the place for you. The special for 2 tacos after tax was $11.50 so not cheap but you’re in Noe Valley so they know their audience. The table salsa was spicy and good tho!? Anyway all in all not bad just not my style :)

Google
I really want to like this place, but it's basically a short version menu of Tacolicous. It's really overpriced for the value. No matter what I try to ask the wait staff to make sure my order is done correctly my tamales come out cold, my coffee is messed up. There is a cool backyard area on a sunny day, the inside is mediocre. Happy I saved a little bit with Inkind but not my jam. I tried multiple times. Thank you and wish you the best.

Google
Live a few blocks away and this place is a staple! I really love a good fresh Mexican style salad, especially for lunch, and this is the BEST! It's not, and doesn't pretend to be, a quick greasy taco (nothing wrong with that tho 🤤), it's Americanized yet comforting and delicious.

Google
I think it's gonna be other mainstay on 24th. The food is excellent and I feel healthy eating it haha. I ordered the tacos (pretty meaty) and my wife ordered the havalina and she said it had tons of healthy things in it.

Google
Colorful space, welcoming counter ordering, and sweet tables and outdoor patio. Very good fresh tacos-with housemade tortillas, and tortas, all come with a side salad. Nice location on 24th in Noe Valley, stark contrast to the neighboring Mission

Yelp
Absolutely delicious. Vibrant. Exciting. Fun. Flavorful. Top 5 descriptors for Todo El Dia in San Francisco. Noe Valley has so many amazing restaurants it's hard to choose one over the other. Heading to the area on a slow Sunday morning and looking for brunch at a spot that had outdoor seating that didn't feel cramped for a baby, Todo El Dia hit each checkmark. We ordered the breakfast egg tacos (3 for $16) and the mf torta ($19). Adding prices in here because we felt for the ambiance and quality of food, the price point was well worth the splurge our weekend fun. And the torta, yum. That took the cake. Super fresh, thick pieces of avocado and queso fresco, flavorful chicken, and overall just a stand out sandwich. Also thoroughly enjoyed the delicious house-made blue corn tortillas and their signature "orange sauce". Would love to have taken a bottle home with me! Service was great and fyi this is an order at the register/grab your number type of vibe. There's a kiddo menu and also the menu includes what dishes are gluten free, vegan, and vegetarian. Catering available, and did I mention this spot is an extension of Tacolicious? Big fan!

Yelp
A little overpriced. Food doesn't taste very authentically Mexican but it tastes good, there is a lot of Californian fusion going on with their food. Food presentation is 10/10 The ambiance of the restaurant and the courtyard is 10/10 Food is 7.5/10 Price is 7/10 Overall: 8/10

Yelp
Items are marked gluten free on the menu that are not actually GF. They used shared fryers for GF and not GF items. After I ordered/paid/tipped, I was informed of this. I promptly notified their management in writing on 12/08. I received a response asking for my order number for n 12/11, saying they wanted to "make things better." I provided the receipt and as of 01/02/25, I have not received a response AND their menu still lists items that are not GF as such. This is a warning to anyone with allergies to avoid this establishment

Yelp
The salad was delivered and the ingredients used were all super fresh. The salad was of a very good size for the price. The reason for not giving 5 stars was because of the lack of flavor. The veggies were bland and I felt like the dressing was also lacking flavor. The veggies could have used seasoning or salt. I'd try give this spot another try and maybe try something different on the menu.

Yelp
Such a good spot in Noe valley for breakfast. I highly recommend the Huevos Rancheros with the black beans. It was so flavorful and a good amount of food. My mom ordered chilaquiles and love it. A bit spicy but the sour cream helps counter balance it. We paired it with some delicious lattes! If you have kids, great family spot. My son loved the chicken taco plate that comes with rice and beans. Lots of space and very clean. Service was very clean and great!

Yelp
We grabbed a couple items from Todo El Dia at the Noe Valley Night Market this past Tuesday (new year's eve), their vendor tent at the event set up just a couple blocks from their actual restaurant on 24th Street. The pollo con pulla tamale was pretty good in terms of quality and flavor. The margarita was small (little 8 oz plastic cup for 12 bucks) and not strong, but it was tasty. Service was great, no long waits, and friendly staff. A positive experience overall.

Yelp
We walked into this clean vibrant welcoming space with friendly service at this order at counter, get a number and be served joint. We ordered Holy Trinity Dip Sampler, which started off the meal great, but then it went downhill from there. MF 1/2 chicken came with tortilla, rice and beans. Some chicken pieces were burnt , but still tasty. The rice was nice, but the beans were bland and soaked in watery soup. The Clown Tacos had a square Kraft cheese in it and just didn't deliver great flavor. The 3 tacos we ordered were vegetarian (3/5), shrimp (5/5), and pork (2/5) was very greasy. It came with a meh side salad. Fun atmosphere, but the food was overall disappointing.

Yelp
I've been in Noe Valley long enough to have seen no less than two French restaurants and a rotisserie chicken place go through this spot and while all of them were good, this is by far the best food I've had in the space. The decor is beautiful, and the patio is the best it's ever looked, with bright colors and sun. The tacos were fantastic, particularly the crispy shrimp tacos, of which I could probably eat 10. I'll return and try the other stuff too

Yelp
I am always open to trying different tacos and tortas. Although I have been born and raised on tacos in the Mission there are places around San Francisco that have good tacos . I first learned about Tacolicious when I saw an interview with " The Freak" Tim Lincecum the Cy Young award winner and World Series SF Giant talked highly of their food. I concur with "The Freak"and was looking for the chance to try their new spin off restaurant " Todo el Dia" by Tacolicious. " Todo el Dia ( Everyday all day) is a new refreshing place for drinks and food on 24th street in San Francisco. First of all they have a bar and patio. Then I saw a type torta which I rarely see on the menu which is shrimp milanesa torta called the " El Encanta" . The shrimp milanesa torta ( shrimp sandwich) had a smooth crunch along with the costra de queso and it was overall tasty . Next I wanted to try their Clown Tacos after watching the movie The Joker 2 ( it was a decent film noir even if critics don't agree ). The Clown Tacos were the right amount of crispy and the cheese, meat and tomatoes combination tackled the palate with a good savory taste. They also offer MF Chicken a chile-rubbed free-range rotisserie chicken. When it comes to drinks Tacolicious brand wine is available and lots of other delicious and refreshing drinks from their bar. Don't expect any Mission District style food on the menu since this place has their own style of food and the taco evolution has now gone global. Try "Todo el Dia "everyday all day by Tacolicious Go for the drinks and their delicious variety of food dishes

Yelp
4.5 STARS Man Jose has La Vic's orange sauce that makes their food edible. Noe has Todo El Dia's orange sauce that takes their solid food to next level deliciousness. Sure, there's other orange sauces but I usually find them either too mild or so spicy that it will burn your bootyhole. I love it hella spicy but sometimes you just want something more balanced that won't blow your palate out. Todo El Dia's orange sauce. The árbol chili based sauce is creamy with a nice tang, kiss of fruity flavor, and warming heat (sriracha-like spicy). I found myself slathering everything in that orange sauce. So bomb. Please sell that crack sauce to the public! From the owner of Tacolicious, Todo El Dia is an all day, fast-casual resto serving Mexico-city style fare. They took over Village Rotisserie. They're open for takeout, delivery, indoor dining, and outdoor dining. The back patio is dog-friendly and there's dog treats available. M E N U Limited menu for now. -Breakfast (served until 11 on weekdays, 2 pm on weekends): Chia pudding, granola, brekkie tacos (coming soon), and huevos divorciados. -Lunch/Dinner: Salad, tacos, bowls, tortas, and rotisserie chicken. -Sweets: Straus softs serve, chocolate croissant, and kouign amann. Kid's menu available. GF, vegetarian, and vegan friendly. -Drinks: Juices (fresh-pressed), tea, coffee (postscript), and beer. Self-serve water available. Tip option starts at 20% and 5% SF mandate. F O O D * MF Chicken: Chile-rubbed Rotisserie Chicken w/ rancho gordo yellow-eye beans, mint-cilantro rice, housemade blue corn tortillas (Half - $24) // 4.5 stars: https://tinyurl.com/3ms2hy2t --Mother-Effin Chicken: Juicy, meaty rotisserie chicken with tasty citrus and mild chili notes with a kiss of smoky flavor. Even the breast meat was surprisingly juicy. I appreciated that it wasn't salty. The skin wasn't crispy tho and could have used more char but it was hella solid. --Rancho gordo yellow-eye beans: Tender with a creamy center. Hearty and delicious. --Mint-cilantro Rice: Fluffy, separated grains with a subtle herbacousness. --Housemade Blue Corn Tortillas (4 pc): Hot off la plancha, the tortillas were thick, soft, and pliable with a satisfying chew and earthy flavor. BYO tacos and drizzle that orange sauce on everything! Feeds two people for $24, a good value for the city. S E R V I C E Order at the counter, seat yourself, and your order will be brought to you. Visited after work on a quiet afternoon. With no line, it took about 10 minutes for the food to arrive. A M B I A N C E Casual with festive colors. Awesome back patio with fairy lights, heat lamps, and blankets. Indie rock playing. P A R K I N G Challenging street parking. Overall, I was pleasantly surprised with Todo El Dia. I usually don't gravitate towards Americanized Mexican food but they utilizes good quality ingredients and execute them well. Plus, that orange sauce. Don't come at me for this but I think it's better than La Vic's.

Yelp
If you're looking for legit Mexican, this place is not it. I really hope they switch things up. This restaurant is the sister restaurant of Tacolicious, which I've enjoyed, especially the Marina Girl salad, beans, and churros. I wanted to love it, but there was so much flavor that was missing.
google avatar

Jason K.

Yelp
Food is pretty good here. Got a whole rotisserie chicken, which came with a side of beans and rice. Also got shrimp tacos, a torta and chips with queso chili. We were able to split all that between 4 people. The chicken was the best part in my opinion. It was really moist and the skin was flavorful. It came with a creamy homemade hot sauce. Everything else was just ok. Service was good and they have a great outdoor space in the back. The place doesn't have much of a Mexican vibe and the food, although decent, doesn't scream authentic. If you're really craving Mexican probably better to walk a few blocks to the Mission.

Yelp
Love this new venue in Noe Valley! Tacolicious knows what's up ! U order at the counter and help yourself to water and Coffee , if u did not order an espresso beverage. I popped in and had the California tacos , I was in and out in less than 20 mins ! Ha The holy trinity is always a winner at the other locations , I did not try it yet here . I personally do not like utensils out w napkins , cause on more then one occasion I have found spilled food in the canister, I don't think this is sanitary . Cause as I wanted a second napkin , I could not get one , and avoid touching the clean flatware , To me , I don't see how that passes w the health dept. They do this at other locations , so it must be considered ok ? But , the inside is airy and really nice ! The patio looked inviting ! I hope they stick around , they should make it , solid food & great staff .

Yelp
Walked by and stumbled upon this cute place - saw the pet friendly patio signage and menu at the door. I thought I was going to opt for HH (Mon-Fri from 3-6pm) but just decided on a three taco plus salad plate for $18. Standard pricing for the city. Food was good and the orange sauce is very yummy but a bit too spicy for me (as I no longer can handle spicy). The staff are very nice and friendly and offered my dog a dog treat! Back patio is colorful and cute. Saw they had crayons at the front and plenty of families with young children. I'd come back and take my nephew/niece. I'd also stop by again to try their breakfast tacos and juices.

Amanda W.

Yelp
This place is delicious. The vibe is cool. The shrimp tacos were delicious. The chips and queso were fantastic. Friendly service!!

Deborah G.

Yelp
Todo de Dia is on quaint 24th street--it has great food, delicious guacamole, a cravable horchata cold brew AND Alex, who is very personable, friendly and asks any question in a really helpful way! We've been twice and will definitely go back!
google avatar

Miranda M.

Yelp
Great neighborhood spot. I enjoyed the tacos and the patio has a nice ambiance. I hope over time they expand the menu because it does feel a bit limited. But so far I'm happy!
google avatar

Lisbeth C.

Yelp
Cute place, healthy food, service is really good and friendly. I like the decor it reminds me of Frida Kahlo colors. Everything tasted fresh. Outdoor patio is cool and the staff was very welcoming. I got the chicken torta and the chicken was really delicious and tender and juicy.

Ryan W.

Yelp
The El Elmot is delicious - fresh ingredients with flavorful kick and crunch. The side salad is delicious as well with a fresh and zesty dressing. Good service with very nice and roomy waiting area. They are fast and efficient. Really glad to have Todo El Dia as an addition to the Noe neighborhood. Highly recommended for vegetarians and meat lovers alike!
google avatar

Diane C.

Yelp
We had never been here before, and the host recommended that the four of us split a chicken dinner, which was great, and we had a side of four shrimp tacos, fun to sit out in the patio and enjoy the day
google avatar

Tammy L.

Yelp
This has quickly become our go-to spot for relatively healthy and tasty weeknight dinners! Every part of the MF whole chicken meal deal is delicious -- fresh corn tortilla, flavorful rancho gordo beans, fluffy cilantro rice, and that wicked orange sauce to bring it all together. Portions are big and we generally get 4-5 meals out of it. Salads and soups have been great too.

Yelp
Have you been to this amazing place ?!?! It's awesome. Beautiful clean Mexican food. And I have to say the price is right: exceptionally high quality ingredients. It's now my go to in the hood with a an extra huge plus because I love the entire staff: Andrea, Lilly, Sydney, Xochy, Fernando (chef!) and Miguel.
google avatar

Tira S.

Yelp
I was so excited to try this place. Food was just ok. The service was good. But for the prices there should be more and better quality.
google avatar

Joe D.

Yelp
Cute spot. Above average food. But portion sizes are far too small for the price. $18 for the smallest torta I've ever had. Would come again if someone in my party was craving it.

laurel t.

Yelp
Totally delicious chicken, rice and beans! It was a perfect dinner for my family. We'll be back soon
google avatar

John F.

Yelp
Food is mediocre at best. Service is downright non existent. Ordered on line for a pick up of 2 soups. Was emailed that order would be ready between 5:15 and 5:20. Got there at 5:15. Not ready. Another customer came in to order. Service person watched TV with her back to the counter for 5 minutes until the customer got her attention. She then went across the street to deliver to the bar and did not return until after 5:30. Nobody handling orders during that time. My order was finally ready at 5:40. At 5:55 I recieved an email saying the order was ready. A shit show.

Fred S.

Yelp
Pork tacos were excellent and the chicken bean soup was amazing. Outside patio was great on a sunny fall day.
google avatar

Clay A.

Yelp
Phenomenal service for young family's. Special shoutout to Fernando and the crew. Great staff all around. Top that off with delicious food. We've had the breakfast tacos, dinner family meal of chicken and various drinks. Everything has been top notch and noticeably different from the usual food on 24th st. We've been there 4 times in less than a month so a huge testament how good of a restaurant it is.

Florence W.

Yelp
girl don't go here if ur vegetarian, no protein, it's a waste of time. I made the mistake of ordering the breakfast tacos after they stopped serving breakfast, but instead of telling me that they'd stopped serving, the cashier confirmed that i wanted the Verano and then, without telling me, swapped my order for the vegan tacos which are $2 more and don't include any protein. He offered to swap it for another menu item but that's the only veg item so wtf was i supposed to do. I'm annoyed
google avatar

George H.

Yelp
Incredible food, authentic flavors, and brilliant atmosphere. This is a place I plan to come back to for the delicious veggie options. Service was 10/10.
google avatar

Gwendolyn R.

Yelp
So excited to have this new addition to the neighborhood! Service was exceptional- everyone is friendly and attentive. The space looks amazing, everything we ordered was fab. I got the veggie tacos (delicious) and my friend got the shrimp salad which looked amazing and she loved. Super excited to return!
google avatar

Yelp
Welcome to the neighborhood! Todo el Dia offers a bright and clean space with delicious food! I tried the chicken tacos with salad. The flavors are fantastic! The salad is dressed with a unique and flavorful dressing. The tacos are made with home made tortillas and are savory. Couldn't be better! The service was professional and nice. I can't wait to try more of their delectable food!

Casey V.

Yelp
Delish! So excited to have this as a fast casual option in Noe. The menu isn't expansive but doesn't have to be with how tasty their dishes are. Highly recommend the crispy shrimp tacos - they are perfectly crisp and not greasy at all! 10/10

Kate K.

Yelp
Tacos, guacamole & mikes cheese dip were great BUT I wish the chips could be the same as Tacolicious. My only suggestion to improve is to bring us those amazing chips & salsa. We would buy more drinks if we could have the chip experience.

Rita P.

Yelp
Good and healthy food! Super tasty tacos and beautiful patio. Salads are very good and bog portions.

Z A.

Yelp
High-quality, fresh Mexican food, salads and refreshing juices. Excellent breakfast tacos.

Rossi P.

Yelp
Great food, family friendly, super nice backyard patio and friendly staff! I loved the tacos!

Nora Lapin ..

Yelp
I really liked Todo el Dia the first time I ordered on DoorDash but yesterday I placed an order and received two tacos instead of the three I ordered and the food was scattered all over the box. I complained to DoorDash but can't find a phone number for the restaurant to compl. I wonder if i should take the chance to order again.

Markj H.

Yelp
Todo el dia is really good. About the best I've had in San Francisco. Very generous amount of pork on the Colorado tacos. Very generous salad came with. What a find in Noe Valley. They also have wine from Portugal. Easy on the budget. Even had a quesadilla for kids! Nice service.

Linda K.

Yelp
Even though they JUST opened at this address, our lunch experience yesterday was well above average. Service speed was comfortable, and the staff was courteous and helpful. But the food is the reason to go. Creative and delicious.
