The service was great, everyone was very helpful and friendly, and our glasses were always fun. Compared to other similarly priced omakases, the fish didn’t taste fresh, the rice didn’t taste seasoned, and the unique pieces were a bit odd - like cod with banana. The unlimited pieces you can pick at the end were not all part of the omakase, which was both good and bad, since we got to try more pieces, but didn’t know which ones were the best when making our one-time choice. Our faves were the Wagyu, otoro, bluefin tuna, and toro handroll with fried onion. Overall, the value is good for the quantity, but for the price you can get much better quality in the area

Great experience here. Julia was very nice and gave us personalized recommendations for sakes to try. Derek was our chef and he was nice to chat with and made fantastic food. They made sure we were all happy about our experience. It’s also on the more affordable side for omakase. Definitely recommend!

Toka was just OK. I had a feeling the quality might dip a bit now that the restaurant’s gained more popularity. I came here because I won an IG giveaway. The website listed a menu with two appetizers, ten pieces of nigiri, one hand roll, and dessert—but we only received one appetizer (salmon sashimi). Service was on the slower side, and the staff seemed a bit stretched thin and rushed. The courses came out one after another with little pacing. Overall, it wasn’t a bad experience, but I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back.

TōKA Chef Kitchen delivers a fun, high-quality all-you-can-eat omakase experience at a great value (around $88–$98). Expect fresh fish flown in from Japan, an interactive open-kitchen vibe, and attentive service. It’s the most mind-blowing sushi in NYC, for the price and variety, it’s a solid pick for sushi lovers looking for a memorable, casual omakase night out.

Service is incredible! The staff here are so friendly and helpful I loved the experience. They even gave us roses for Mother’s Day 😌 the staff are incredible and I was sad the food was not the same quality We did the $98 all you can eat/drink. The sake is watered down, but fine. The appetizers were great and so was dessert, but the nigiris were very just okay. We had an additional piece of all the six possible options and salmon and unagi - though not a part of the omakase set - were options. Fatty tuna and wagyu, which are normally huge hits, were pretty lack luster. The fish didn’t taste particularly fresh or flavorful in our opinions.
