"A $20 AYCE sushi, udon, and mochi ice cream spot ($30 for dinner and weekends) is buzzing among Astoria locals. Cross off items from the vast menu as you eat. Certain portions may be small to prevent waste. It might be your first time seeing a zucchini tempura all alone on a plate; good thing you can order more. The seafood isn’t omakase level, but it makes for a solid neighborhood spot, where you can indulge in dragon rolls and ikura. Colorful wallpapers, paper parasols, and lamps cover almost every surface area of the space. Prepare to wait at peak times." - Caroline Shin, Eater Staff

By far this quaint Japanese restaurant is the best value for all you can eat Sushi. The quality of the ingredients as well as their freshness make it to the top of my favorites places to go for a special night. It was a last minute decision and we did not regret it. My Chef of a husband is hard to please and when he kept re-ordering it means it is more than really good! Our diner was early on a snowy Sunday and we got there just on time to get the last table. Try it out you won’t get disappointed!!! The sushis are so flavorful!!!

Food 7/10 The AYCE (~$35) vibe really is great if you’re carbo-loading before a marathon, and that’s exactly what my boyfriend and I came here for him to do. Endless sushi heaven. The server questioned if we really wanted to get this much because we had to pay extra for what we didn’t finish, and I enthusiastically said yes to their skeptical facial expressions. It was quite funny. My boyfriend did indeed finish everything. I thought their salmon was quite high quality, but otherwise, all the other seafood was just fine. For the price and the AYCE aspect though, I would say this place is quite an experience. They had fun donut sushi, plenty of options for appetizers, and a good selection of fish. You can pick either sashimi slices or nigiri, and it really just doesn’t stop coming. Atmosphere 7/10 Cute spot with Japanese decor, plenty of seating, and we walked right in without a wait. Service 9/10 They were very attentive and friendly, kept on refilling our waters, which was a plus. Appreciate the service!

Edit 11/01/24 Menu has changed, recipes have change and staff has changed. Loved it when it was first open but now the quality has gone down. You order through an app now, which makes the ordering process longer and some of the fish have been fishy. Not worth traveling to, if you have one closer, go there. Updated photos added and labeled with date. [Original Review] Great value, great food, and made to order. Friendly service and fresh food. Will be going back. Surprised it’s not busy.

Tokyo Ya is a hiden gem. Best shushi, all you can eat place. everything was cooked to perfection. Price is the cheapest AYCE. The quality of fish is super fresh and just melts on your mouth. went twice with no disappointment. server was awesome, and food came right away. the electronic ordering is cool and awesome. first time ever giving a review to a place I really like and did not disappoint me at all. 10/10 ( from an enthusiastic AYCE Gal)

Found restaurant online for sushi I live in Astoria. I got tricked thinking it's a legit Japanese sushi because had Japanese verbiage so didn't mind paying extra for quality. However Over-priced same sushi place as others. Should have known when they offer all you can eat. Didn't know that until I went to pick up my food
