I am absolutely thrilled with this vegan bakery! Everything was incredibly fresh and delicious, and the service was wonderful. There’s a wide variety of tasty treats to choose from. Overall, I’m delighted and highly recommend it!

Love to see all the options here! The vanilla concha was my favorite. My partner ordered a custom cake for my birthday and it was the most delicious chocolate cake I’ve ever had! So moist and delicious.

UPDATE: Yes, whatever the source of the noise was, it was too loud to have a conversation from 20 feet away. There won't be a next time, because as I said, there are other vegan bakeries to choose from. I was trying to be respectful by not bringing my dog in. The weirdo is the owner expecting a customer to shout a conversation from so far away. Last night, I was walking my dog. I had been meaning to stop in and check out the Vegan Bakery. My boss wanted me to find a vegan bakery she can use on a regular basis for our mostly vegan staff at work. Because I had my dog with me, I stepped in with her on the leash just outside the door. It took a bit for anyone to even acknowledge me. A woman with glasses walked up and stood about 15 BEHIND the counter. I wanted to ask her if they made Ezekiel Bread. The fans were so loud, I would have had to scream at her to have a conversation. A gestured my hand as if to say, "Are you coming closer so I can speak to you?" She just shrugged as if she didn't care. I wasn't going to SCREAM my question to her over the loud fans from at least 20 feet away. This was my first impression of the Vegan Bakery and my last, as this was a bullshit way of conducting business by this woman, whether she's an employee, manager or owner. I wouldn't know because I didn't hear a single word out of her indifferent, unprofessional mouth. There are other vegan bakeries I can patronize. Unfortunately, because its location is more convenient for me because I live nearby, this vegan bakery will not be one of them. In this day and age where customer service is sorely lacking everywhere, a good first impression can truly set a business apart. This lady blew it.

Delicious vegan bakery! Worth a special trip to go try it!

It's a cute little shop that's locally owned and run. I ordered a vegan Strawberry Shortcake for my birthday and couldn't help but get a few more pastries when I went to pick it up. The cake was delicious, light, fluffy, and had the perfect amount of sweetness. It tastes like a European or Mexican bakery. The pastries are sweet but not overwhelmingly rich. Just how I like it. It's hard to find bakeries in LA that are completely vegan like this one. They have gluten-free options as well for those with a sensitivity to wheat. I will definitely be back. You won't regret checking this place out. It's small but delicious. 😋

This bakery has been around for five years, mostly as a vegan bakery. They offer traditional “pan dulce” as well as some savory items like tamales and empanadas. They also have gluten-free options which are clearly marked in shop. Their cakes are reasonably priced, $40 for a small tres leches cake (plus $5 for fruit) and $50 for a small tiramisu cake. Note: they are located in a shopping center with free parking.

amazing vegan baked goods and great selection as well! the conchas and croissant were delicious. the little pink sugar cookies were the best! we also tried a miniature apple pie that was super good as well. prices were very reasonable. can’t wait to come back and try more! vegan or not, you will like their treats!

Sooooo good!!! The gluten free pumpkin pie was to die for & the vegan empanada was yummy too. We loved the tamales they were so authentic & home made. The lady that took care of us was so sweet & kind. This place is the real deal!

This place is a hidden gem! The entire bakery is vegan and there are so many gluten-free options. The woman who works there is always very sweet, the prices are quite affordable for the quality, and I never regret stopping here. I've tried the très leches cake, tiramisu, conchas, cookies, empanadas, etc... There's so many options that I believe there's something for everyone. Also, It's not a sit-down place, but more of a grab and go spot. :)

Got to different fruit jam cookies, tiramisu, coco lèche, Nepolian. Fruit jammed cookies (too soft) I was expecting a butter cookie consistency but what I got seem like stale butter cookies-soft, the jam was kinda tasteless (neither sweet nor fruity) and gummy. All the cake goods were stale-they all smell like a fridge and do not have their own flavors. Very disappointed. The nepolians pastries were chewy and didn't have the crunch you'd expect. The cream was bland and has fridge smell rather than caramel/vanilla. The same with the tiramisu. You can get a faint coffee flavors but other than that it was kinda grainy and smelled like the stale fridge bc it's been sitting there since for too long. Unfortunately we got 3 of those and they didn't taste that good. All in all we weren't impressed.

Toluca Bakery is a small, hole in the wall all vegan bakery. Don't let the small parking lot or slightly older, nondescript exterior of the building convince you that the desserts are anything short of indulgent and high quality, though. This shop has no frills, so the baked goods truly speak for themselves. They have everything from conchas to tiramisu. We have ordered a few cakes, which were all so flavorful and aesthetically pleasing. We also have ordered single serving size treats like pecan pies, tarts, cupcakes, cookies, etc. Everything I've had from Toluca Bakery is so good, not too sugary, and truly a treat.

I stumbled upon this incredible bakery while waiting for my cheeseburger from Jack's Burger stand out front. I grabbed a box of random pastries and absolutley loved each one. It wasn't until my next visit that I realized it's a Vegan bakery! Honestly, I couldn't even tell the difference! Delicious pastries and fantastic service. Highly recommend!!

Don't let the size of this little bakery fool you, it is full of delicious treats! I recommend one of each as you can't go wrong and I pick just one as my favorite The family is always gracious and always welcoming even when it's jumping!

Love this place! It's an all vegan Mexican bakery and I'm here for it! The have have a big selection of pan...my favorite is and has always has been is the piggy so I always get one of those. And no trip is complete without getting some fresh homemade tamales. Verdes are my absolute fav. This place is so good and authentic that my Tia's were surprised when I told them it's all vegan. Great, friendly service and a convenient parking lot to boot.

I have worked nearby for over a decade and never knew this slice of heaven existed. Any vegan person knows the perils of trying to find good vegan food options and this bakery blew it out of the park. From the cookies to the banana cream tart to the tamales...everything was incredible. I am so happy to have found this place and will be back!

I am astonished writing this, I was soooo excited to try this place as it's hard to find vegan bakeries. I ordered a Vegan Tiramisu (I've had vegan tiramisu before at other bakeries). I have not in 10 years ever said this on Yelp... it was quite possibly the worst cake I've ever had. Devastated. It tasted like chalk and crumbled. After the first bite I paused in shock. Not knowing what to do. It left a bitter expired chalk aftertaste in my mouth. I asked someone else to try it. They said "it can't be that bad," they took a bite and paused staring off into space and had to spit it out. Their cake was also not good. The textures were off, the taste was off, they tasted synthetic. Also the staff in the back looked so annoyed that we were there. The cashier was nice.

Great customer service. Very clean and neatly organized. Great traditional Mexican tamales but vegan style. Delicious pan Dulce (Mexican sweet bread) gluten and vegan options.

Even though it says "VEGAN BAKERY" everywhere, I had to triple check that everything was actually vegan because of the huge variety of delicious looking (traditionally non vegan) treats!! Very cute little bakery, I think there were one or 2 tables to sit at and fridges with drinks and a few other snacks. Staff member was super patient and helpful while I tried to decide what I wanted. I wound up landing on the guava cheese danish. I wish I could offer a picture but I dug into this thing so fast and it was SO. GOOD. Will 1000% be back to try so many more pastries/desserts!!

Everything I've tried is great (pan dulce, cookies, tiramisu). I can't believe that the pastries and desserts are vegan. I brought some tiramisu over for a dinner night, and no one could tell it was vegan! Also, they have great service!

What a treat for Toluca Lake and the surrounding valley! Toluca Bakery has an enormous variety of vegan sweets, treats, and even offers savory and gluten free options. Every time I go in, they have something new. I love that you can simply walk in and buy cake and pie slices, conchas, cookies, croissants and other pastries in the window. But the coolest thing is that there are so many big cookie boxes (gluten free too) available to take (like any local bakery or grocery store bakery) to bring to a dinner party, work, etc. I highly recommend their cakes. They are fluffy dreams, particularly the tiramisu and tres leches. The guava danish also makes my top list, there's even vegan cheese inside! The hours are perfect for grabbing things before and after work. And I believe they just need a two-days heads up for cake and custom orders. This is a staple!

What a treat, to find a vegan bakery with tamales and empanadas! This little family owned bakery has been here for 3 year now, imagine that? Enter the bakery and to your left are the tamales and empanadas. Look to your right and you'll find an assortment of baked treats, including eclairs, cookies and cakes. The empanadas are delicious! Writing this review on my way back, couldn't resist the aroma in the bag! Parking is a little tight in the lot out front.

You have got to be kidding me. This completely vegan bakery has been around since 2019, and I've only just NOW heard of it? What have I even been doing the last few years? My wife found Toluca Bakery on IG and wanted to take a little field trip. A 20 minute drive from Pasadena, not bad, going just for a cookie or two. Do you know what we actually left with? Danish, coffee cake, cookies, empanadas, tamales, a cupcake, and a few other sweet treats I don't even know the name of. We just kept ordering, the cases and shelves beaming their hypnotic deliciousness vibes into our brains. At one point I just looked at my wife like, "We have to stop. There's no way we can eat all this..." So, we didn't get around to the conchas, muffins, or turnovers. We declined the cakes, fruit tarts, and breads. We looked away from the cheesecakes, puerquitos, and pies. A couple more visits should do the trick, though. If you partake in the savory, ask for the hot sauce along with the empanadas and tamales. It's flavor packed with just a little heat. I think the jalapeño and cheese empanada was my favorite, and the hot sauce bumped it up to the next level. What an absolute gem. Toluca doesn't sell in stores, so you're going to have to get your ass over here. This is a no-frills spot. A big bakery with some cases in the front, but do you really need more? When the product is top-notch, bougie art or house plants everywhere are unnecessary. The woman who helped us was awesome, very knowledgeable about ingredients, giving us flawless recommendations left and right. And the prices are more than fair. Some places I'll drop nearly $10 for a single vegan pastry, but we left here with a pile of goodies, for like $45. Hot damn. Matter of fact, I just polished off some apple and cheese stuffed coffee cake and half a raspberry danish ten minutes ago with my morning latte. Absolutely sublime. Probably for the best we don't live next to this bakery. Ain't nobody trying to gain 150 pounds.

The concha's and tamales are so delicious. Staff is friendly. Would definitely recommend if in the area.

I came here today because of the reviews. The conchas, in my opinion, were a bit dry and dense. Not what I'm used to when it comes to conchas. The batch could have been off, but for $3 each I'll pass on them. The tiramisu was dry. Not sure why. It could be a different way of making tiramisu? Or perhaps the ingredients. Either way it was decent. The fruit tart and the tres leches were the stars. The tres leches was on brand with the usual moist tres leches taste. The fruit tart was tasty.

Amazing sweets and treats. I've been going here like twice a week lately. I have to try it all!!!! We're going to be moving closer so we can just walk over. Thank for everything you are doing for the vegan community.

5/5 Written from a former bakery owner. My family owned a bakery in Detroit for 40+ years and sold it during Covid in 2021. I know baking and so does Toluca Bakery. Excellent customer service. Family owned shop with the mom and son working when my friend and I went in. So much variety, and the price point is low for all you're getting. This is a bakery making old school, classic recipes. They veganized so many items that you can't find in most places. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious, concha's super tasty, Tres Leches was chef's kiss, turnover amazing, danish great, cupcakes yum, eclairs fantastic and empanadas scrumptious. Highly recommend. Plus for folks who like supporting small business, this is exactly that. It's a win-win-win-win. Taste-options-price-family owned & operated. Get there!

Wow! I absolutely love this bakery. The selection was overwhelming. It was my first time visiting and I tried to get one of everything but I know I wouldn't be able to finish it all (so I'll have to go visit again). I got the apple pie, cheesecake, guava empanadas, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, tiramisu, and vanilla conche. Also got two tamales (soooo yum). The customer service was great. The woman helping me was so sweet.

Although it's vegan bake good, their ingredients are not the healthiest or cleanest, like using white sugar, which is the unhealthiest. So, just be aware they don't use clean nor healthy ingredients. But most of their bake good here are pretty good. The only one you never know what to expect are the conchas sometimes they're soft, moist, and delish like their Vday ones and sometimes they're dry and steal. No consistency. Also, their tres leches lacks flavor. But their empanadas, cookies, corn bread, pig bread, tarts, and pies are delish. They're very pricey tho. Additionally, the service is not always the best. The young Hispanic girl who is most of the time as the cashier has an attitude. You can tell she's either having a bad day or hates her job. But overall, it's a decent vegan bakery to shop.

It's easy to miss this small bakery hidden in an unassuming plaza. That being said, I'm glad to have found it via VegOut Los Angeles. Always happy to discover a vegan bakery that's not only affordable but has great selections, especially during the holidays. They also have delicious tamales and service is always great!

Okay so my vegan bestie was in town and I mentioned that I always see a vegan bakery sign across from my regular starbucks, so we decided to check it out. She got the strawberry cupcake, chocolate cake, a brownie, and a box of cookies. The cupcakes were AMAZING!! She said the chocolate cake was to die for! The lady at the counter was super nice and helpful with choosing items. The inside is small with no seating, which is not atypical of a bakery. It was a little warm, but again it's a bakery and the weather is starting to change in LA so I don't blame them. I will definitely be back!

I always stop by for some vegan Concha's for my son. Everything is so good. I even buy some pastries for me and I'm not Vegan. Very good

Eat your heart out Erin McKenna! This bakery has such a great selection, their baked goods are so delicious, and they are way underpriced. The value, taste, and service were all amazing, but the thing that really blew me out of the water was the fact that they offer a box of an assortment of their cookies. Like... who does that? That goes against all the restaurant/eatery rules! You don't offer an assortment so they have to come back for more. And pay more. Make them commit, even if they don't like it. But no. This place cares about customer satisfaction, so they help you figure out what you actually like, against the usual profit ploys. Sorry, I'm definitely biased as I am a little-bit-of-everything try-all-the-flavors type of consumer. It's just that this is rare and we love to see it. The Napoleon was so good. Try the vegan cheese and jalapeño empanada to cut the sweet. We came back the next day and ordered five more cakes Can't wait to try 'em!

Five stars is an understatement. This is an all vegan authentic Mexican bakery with so much variety. There are several dozen different types of sweets and breads as well as savory tamales and savory empanadas. Our favorites were the different flavored conchas, all of the tamales (so good) and the guava empanadas. Honestly, I don't have a single bad thing to say about this place. The pricing was great and you can tell the love that is put into their delicious high quality products. I can't recommend Toluca enough!

I absolutely love this bakery. Everything I've ever tried there was delicious. From the tamales and the empanadas to the tiramisu cake, cherry pie, cream cheese muffins, strawberry tarts, and everything in between... it was all wonderful. My partner ordered a whole tiramisu cake for my birthday and it was beautiful and tasted amazing, as you'd expect! I also want to note that they have SO many gluten free options, and even keep them in entirely separate cases from the non-GF offerings, which I think shows the care and thought they put into serving customers with different needs. The employees are always friendly and happy to help. I'm delighted that this wonderful bakery exists and excited to keep supporting them. Don't miss this spot if you're in the area.

Wow wow wow! I'm truly impressed by this family-owned, all vegan bakery in the Toluca Lake area of North Hollywood. They have a large variety of treats and also a section dedicated to gluten-free as well. They're located in a small shopping center with decent parking (but tight because it's shared with multiple other stores and restaurants). Let me tell you, the delightful smell that greets you when you first enter is enough to make you want to text your personal trainer and let them know you've failed for the day (hmmm, maybe that's just my personal problem haha). Not only are you greeted with a yummy aroma but also so many yummy options from empanadas to fruit tarts, conchas and cookies! Let the photos do the talking! We grabbed a variety of things and everything was DELICIOUS!!!! Someone mentioned the prices were a bit pricey but compared to some of the more well-known vegan bakeries in LA, this was much more affordable! They've been around for a few years and hopefully will be here to stay as they pass it down to generations to come. Support this small family-owned business!!!

I recently moved to the area, and this bakery... I can't believe it's real! The variety, the taste! I absolutely love this little bakery. And since I'm supporting local business, I don't feel so bad getting four pastries each time I go haha.

This bakery is the absolute best and it's completely vegan! We always come here and everyone in our family loves the various pastries that they offer. They carry a LOT of authentic Mexican pastries and other goodies that you're bound to enjoy. If you're looking for a classic Mexican pastry definitely try their conchas; they have the usual flavors of chocolate, vanilla and strawberry. Some other traditional pastries that they have are elotitos (corn shaped sweet bread), puerquitos/cochinitos, empanadas, pasteles, etc. They have a relatively large variety of cookies, going from Mexican wedding cookies, & polvorones, to galletas de grageas (short biscuit cookies topped with rainbow sprinkles.) The cakes that this bakery offers are all hits with everyone! They carry raspberry, chocolate, mocha, tiramisu, vanilla, cheesecake, and tres leches cakes so there's something for everyone. The owners are absolute sweethearts! Every single time we walk into the bakery they say hello from across the room or come over to ask us how we are doing. The customer service is always spot on and whenever we are curious about a new pastry, they'll explain what's inside it. Also, they have helped us decide on what to get if we are having a hard time choosing. The bakery is parked in a corner lot however the lot is fairly small. There are some other businesses there so it varies on how busy it can get. Every time we have gone, there hasn't been too much traffic and we were always able to find an available space.

Was nearby so decided to try some goodies from here! First off, you couldn't tell if was vegan I've been trying to bake vegan/gluten free and it's so hard to get it right but they have it right! The concha and strawberry tarte were delicious. The woman working inside was very kind and I got in and out very quickly as it wasn't busy inside. I will be coming back to try out some more of their goods!

Vegan options available!! I got a handful of the vegan options they had for the day. Overall, it was pretty good. I appreciate bakeries that have vegan options so that I can enjoy it just as much as everybody else. I would definitely come back and get more sweets.

I am not a vegan and I think this place is phenomenal! Highly recommend! Cakes are great and I love their apple turnovers. Just had their tamales for the first time and even those are incredible Service is great too!

Amazing cakes grandma's church friends loved it. We got tiramisu cake for her birthday. It's soft, yummy, not too sweet - just perfect, and doesn't leave any heavy feeling after.

My daughter wanted a vegan b-day cake, strawberries and cream, a little pricey but it was ready when promised, quality ingredients and tasted great.

Amazing place for vegan and gluten free baked goods. The ingredients are top notch and the freshness is unparalleled. I can't believe it's vegan when I'm enjoying each bite of their delicious offerings. The employees will answer any questions you have with sincerity and never give you that elitist, superior vibe you usually experience when dealing with a business catering to vegans! This is the best, vegan bakery near me! We love getting the sweet bread, and my Mexican family cannot even tell it's a Vegan. It tastes like more time was spent on making it, and there is so much more texture to it than regular sweet bread. Their Roscas also incredible. We get them every year and I am so happy they are vegan!

I was searching for a vegan birthday cake. I was excited when I found Toluca Bakery and they sell a vegan tres leches cake. I wasn't sure how good it would be. It was amazing. It made my birthday complete. Everyone loved the cake and was asking where I got it. I also got cookies and conchas for the party. They were a hit. Thank you.

Awesome little bakery where everything is vegan! I love their fruit and cheese danishes as well as their fruit tarts. I also really appreciate that they don't overload their baked goods with sugar, like every other vegan baker seems to do. Everything here is sweetened perfectly, in my opinion!

I will come back here...maybe. And I'll explain my three stars. I'm vegan and I get all this hip hype and trend restaurants are on to overprice their items because they're vegan. However, it's mostly disappointing when they're below average. I was so excited to try their vegan conchas (sweet bread). And heart shaped?!! Like omg what else can a vegan girl dream of. I bought $40 worth of bread. No, it's not what you think. Each concha is $3.50 so it adds up quick. I grew up buying a concha for less than a dollar so this was pricey- for me. If the bread was fluffy, flavorful, and sweet, I wouldn't even dock them for their prices. The bread was bland. My 4 year old son said "mom this bread is not good." I actually surprised my son and bf and my boyfriend said "yeah babe, don't buy those again." If you don't know what a concha is supposed to taste like, you prob won't find a problem. I don't know. So why the 3 stars? The service was great. The lady helping me was sweet. I had a French roll with vegan cream cheese and jalapeño and those were decent but $6? Like damn! The parking was easy as they have a lot as well. Still, it is cool they have an all vegan bakery.

This is a wonderful panadería--and a vegan one at that. After hearing about this place on Tiktok well over a year ago, I came in and pretty much bought out their pastry case, and to my dismay, got a stale bunch. After hearing a close friend describe a wonderful experience at the bakery, I decided to try it a second time around, and this time, was very impressed with their pan dulce selection and customer service. I came in early last week to buy a few conchas, empanadas de guayaba, and, after seeing the rows of packaged pastries lining the wall, a box each of guayaba cookies and chocolate biscotti. The bakery also sells custom cakes, tamales, savory empanadas, bolillos stuffed with vegan cheese and jalapeños, as well as a bunch of prepackaged gluten free pastries. Maybe I've had bad luck with the conchas, but they just haven't been very good the two times that I've come. The topping seems to crumble off if I so much as looked at it the wrong way, leaving behind plain bread, which, although flavorful, is made even more so with the sugar topping. Of the conchas I've had, I've enjoyed the chocolate one the most; the rest taste faintly of food coloring. I can't say that I'll get them again. The remainder of the pastries I bought, however, were very good. I bought a few of their empanadas de guayaba and one elote for the drive home. The elote, though rather small, was dense, moist, and cinnamony. The empanada filling is perfectly sweetened and neatly folded in a chewy, buttery dough. My sister and I devoured the three I ordered before the end of the day. Though a lot of the prepackaged pastries they had looked good, I only left with the guayaba cookies and biscotti. The former were excellent while the latter not so much. The biscotti were dense, and not exclusively made with almond flour, so they tasted like hard floury rocks. On the way out, I noticed they sold vegan brioche and challah, and decided to buy a loaf of the brioche. Everyone in my family, vegan or not, really enjoyed the brioche and ended up finishing the entire loaf within a few days. Until this place opens a new location in the west SFV, I will make the trek to NoHo for their pan dulce.

Although I love to support small businesses and I do think the bakery does a great job with the pan dulce I find that the customer service is really bad. The last time I tried getting something I drove 45 min and when I got there the younger lady had closed early. If you find yourself here look for the owner, she's super sweet. Can't say the same for the rest of the staff.
