Hello,
I’m writing to address an incident involving a bouncer on Sunday night that I personally witnessed and found very troubling.
I was with my friends when I turned the corner and saw one of your bouncers escorting a man out because he was clearly stumbling. I understand that staff cannot babysit everyone, and I understand the need to remove intoxicated patrons. However, what concerned me was how the situation was handled once he was outside.
The individual could barely walk, was not fighting back, and was cooperating. He was essentially left on the side of the street alone. If I had not seen this happen and stepped in, something very bad could have occurred—especially since his phone was dead and he had no way to get help.
At a minimum, a simple question like “Are you with anyone?” or offering some basic assistance would have been the decent and responsible thing to do. Removing someone who is clearly incapacitated and abandoning them outside is, in my opinion, morally wrong and potentially dangerous.
I’m not writing this to cause trouble, but because situations like this can have serious consequences. I hope this is addressed so that, moving forward, patrons who are clearly vulnerable are treated with basic care and responsibility.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
