Buyer beware - know the protocol or get thrown out!!!!!
Went on an early date night with my wife after a Drs appointment in the area, was trying to get there the week before based upon ‘el presidentes review. Wife said we had went there a long time ago, and I didn’t remember (should have been the first sign) It was 3:30 on a Friday afternoon and the parking lot was near empty. Parked and when we go to the door I asked my wife if they were closed even though the times said it should be open.
Walked in and ordered the pizza at the counter - finished order without asking for drink signed receipt and tip and said we would like a drink. Bought 2 drinks and sat down after was told it would be 20 minutes.
Pizza came in cardboard- did not even think about it- took to seats - went back and asked for plates and napkins as there were none on the table.
Started to eat and sheriff came to table and informed me that we could eat the pizza, but not there.
HUH-
It appears I did not know the protocol for ordering to dine it, still not sure - think I was to order from the table. No explanation- was told to leave, I had to eat my pizza elsewhere.
OHH and it gets better,
The place actually looks like they gave up some time ago - dark, dingy, seats torn on the banquets style seating.
They must have sooo much business that they really stopped caring some time ago, as this dive joint is just that, a dive.
Called in to complain and figure out why I was thrown out by the “on duty” sheriff, and asked for a manager (Rachael- found out her name later) answered and said she was one of manager - asked for her name and before before announcing it choose to hang up on me.
Called back in immediately and asked for the manager, and was told no managers were available until after 9.
Called back in after 9, and Rachael answered again, asked for manager, which she then said she was. Asked for her name and she gave it to me. I told her I did not appreciate her hanging up on me earlier, to which she did not deny.
She said that the reason “I was asked to leave” - I confirmed again I was thrown out by the sheriff, was that I ordered “to go”. She said the GM was at the counter when I ordered, I asked if she meant the woman behind the counter eating with her fingers in a public area. I did see the guy at the register cashing out what must have been a waitress, which at the time I thought was a driver getting their tips. Obviously I was wrong.
I am sure that this is all my fault for coming into a pizza shop to order pizza and then sitting down to eat it. Had I known there were waitresses and service I would have preferred that to counter service with the expectation of a tip on the receipt.
Wife commented on the way home that Massey’s is better. Oh well.
