Yelp
This was my first ramen experience in Atlanta and I was expecting so, so much more.
ARRIVAL: Located in PCM, It's on the bottom floor, across the table area from El Super Pan. There's a a-board menu where they have bar seating but this is NOT where you enter, you're actually supposed to enter at the next opening on the right with the podium. We sat at the bar and saw numerous people standing by the menu and having to be told by staff to enter on the other side. Seems like a simple fix?
MENU: Simple menu with a few ramen options, apps, and bowls. Imported beers.
FOOD: Hakata tonkotsu is my favorite style of ramen, so I was excited that they had it here. I ordered the hakata tonkotsu with the chili bomb, chicken wings, and edamame. The edamame was salted, but not salted enough and tasted very plain. The wings were simple but good, they had a great crunch and simple flavoring. The ramen, was insanely disappointing. It wasn't creamy or rich like tonkotsu should be. The butter bomb that is included is also overly buttery it was overwhelming the flavor of the entire bowl both before and after adding the chili bomb. My boyfriend barely finished half of his bowl and his tasted pretty different than mine, so they're not very consistent. I'm big on not wasting food, but i really struggled to finish my bowl. It wasn't something I want to even give another shot.
SERVICE: Service was fine, they were quick to take our order and didn't take long for food to come out. They were friendly and courteous.
PRICE: I always expect restaurants in PCM and other marketplaces to be a bit higher and this is what you can expect here.
Overall, I'm mostly disappointed and slightly traumatized. I might return for drinks and chicken wings, and maybe, just maybe try the dan dan noodles, but as my first ramen spot with such high ratings, I am pretty afraid of what to expect as I slurp my way through Atlanta.
